I’ve been to The Porch a couple of times now, but after my most recent visit I felt like I had to leave a review. The biggest issue for me is the food. For something that is marketed as Tex-Mex, it really misses the mark. The flavors are extremely mild and honestly pretty bland. When you think Tex-Mex, you expect bold flavors, seasoning, and some personality in the dishes, but that just wasn’t my experience here. It felt very toned down, almost like the food is being catered to a very specific demographic rather than embracing what Tex-Mex cuisine actually is. I kept wishing there was more authenticity and flavor in what we ordered. That said, I do want to give credit where it’s due. The staff has always been very friendly and welcoming, and the service has never been the problem. Everyone we interacted with was kind and attentive, which definitely made the experience better. The atmosphere is also pretty cool. The space has a nice vibe to it, and it’s the kind of place where you can imagine grabbing a drink or hanging out with friends. It’s the type of spot that could be great if the food matched the energy of the space. One other thing that has made me hesitant to come back is hearing some things from people I personally know who have worked there. From what I’ve been told, the leadership and ownership behind the scenes isn’t the best, and that kind of stuff unfortunately affects the overall experience and culture of a place over time. I really do hope The Porch improves because the location, atmosphere, and staff have potential. But for a place that claims Tex-Mex, I’d love to see much more flavor, authenticity, and attention to the food itself.

It was good. We had the chicken nachos and it was enough for two people for dinner. No complaints. It’s a cool atmosphere and they have a really nice outdoor space also. I forgot to take a picture of the nachos, but they were delicious. 😋

The Porch Kitchen and Cantina is hands-down one of my favorite spots in Winston! The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and full of character. The staff was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, and our server went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The food? Incredible. Everything we ordered was bursting with flavor, especially the Coca-Cola Carnitas Flautas and the Sweet Pete Puffy Tacos—so unique and delicious. And don’t even get me started on the margaritas! The Blood Orange and Spicy Avocado ones were next level. It’s the perfect place to grab dinner with friends, enjoy a date night, or just chill on the patio with a drink. Highly recommend—this place truly brings the Tex-Mex vibes with a creative twist!

Incredible. There was a short wait when we arrived for dinner, but the staff was very accommodating and made us drinks while we waited. Server asked us upfront if we had any allergies or needed any dietary accommodations. The kids meals were huge portions and simple enough for picky eaters! Their margaritas are fantastic, the food was delicious, and the vibe was immaculate. 10/10 will definitely eat here again.

Kind of hard to find- no clear marking from the road, parking is unclear. Food was good, although expensive. Margarita was also good. Atmosphere was quirky, quaint and cute. Although the tall tables have backless stools so there’s no where to put jackets, etc.

I was pleasantly surprised by how accommodating this restaurant is to dietary restrictions! As someone who chooses a vegan diet, I love the extra care they take in preparing your food, and how knowledgable the staff are about ingredients and preparation concerns. If you had important allergy concerns, I am confident you would find something here that fits your needs! The staff are friendly and fun, dressing up for Halloween and serving food with a smile. They recently decided to give live music a try, and I have had a wonderful experience as a performer in addition to a customer at this location. In addition to plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, I believe they have an overflow/event space, so parties of all sizes will be seated. If you are looking for a good dinner spot in West End, I would recommend giving The Porch a try!

Good service and good food. Loved the honeydew frozen margarita and coca cola carnitas fajita.

Great Tex Mex spot, food, service and environment is always good and you can count on good beverages also! We love coming here for lunch on the weekends! Food is from scratch and good quality made fresh with excellent ingredients as well! This is a good go to spot! The queso and margaritas are on point and I love the freshness of the tacos everytime also!

What a cool little spot. We were in the area and a friend told us about it. Great food. Simple atmosphere and friendly people. I had a Margarita and chips. Simple but good. Good music. All the correct elements to make a great spot to revisit. We left to go to Bar Nola and were surprised that the bar brings food from the Porch! We got a sampler and enjoyed the spinach dip, wings everything was good. I'll definitely be back to the porch soon.

I finally made it to the hipster spot for lunch - just hope I can find where I parked my car! This place is very different, shabby inside and out, bright colors abound, when you sit it will be on something plastic. There is plenty of outside seating as well. I started with the Three Amigos appetizer (Queso, Salsa & Guacamole), to be followed by the Mexico City Rice Bowl (a very busy dish - jasmine rice with a layer of black beans, adobo flank steak, chorizo, avocado, cucumber and radish salad, onions, sliced green peppers, pumpkin seeds, & queso fresco - goes for $18. No complementary chips and salsa here. The Three Amigos ($12) was out quickly and this is a good way to start. This dish consists of tortilla chips, salsa, queso, and guacamole, and though there were plenty of chips, the other items were in plastic take-out containers and were not very plentiful for the price! The guca and the queso were quite nice, but the salsa was more than a little bland. There is some good here, but lacks any value element! The rice bowl was a major culinary train wreck. Hot and cold items were all co-mingled, and it didn't take long for everything to become cool - not at all pleasant. The flank steak, warm in one spot while cold in another, was tough & over cooked. If there was any chorizo or avocado it eluded me. The rice also warm in some spots while not so in others, was in clumps. In the end, items that should not have been mixed together were. A major mess of a "dish"! Bottom line - overpriced & overthought! Classic food, whatever the ethnicity, is classic for a reason - there is no rhyme or reason here, no value, no ambiance = no return! Ambiance - 1 Food - 2 Service - 3 Value - 1

One of my priorities this year is to try and update any of my old reviews, as current information is the most helpful! There is no doubt that very few places have managed to stay the same, and the Porch is no different. I have had a couple of experiences in the time since, but in the end must admit that it's just not my favorite choice for this kind of cuisine anymore, and the brunch in particular is not an experience I enjoyed. To keep it brief, since really this is a summary of several experiences that are more recent than my original, each time I came I ordered something different hoping to find a dish that would make me love it again, but none of them struck that particular spot. Combining that fact with it usually being very busy, some uncomfortable seating depending on where you get sat, and the increasing cost, it's just not for me. That's not to say there aren't bright spots. Drinks there are still tasty and refreshing, and the three amigos appetizer which is simply a platter of tortilla chips with their salsa, gaucamole, and queso is dynamite. Simple yet effective. Getting that app with a couple drinks for a quick catch-up with a friend at maybe an off time, is something I'd recommend.

If it's brunch you are looking for, this is it. Scrambled eggs with cheese, hot, crispy tater tots and some nacho cheese sauce. It was delicious. It was more than enough food and I finished full and happy. The service was quick and friendly. There is plenty of seating inside and a couple tables outside. The only thing you should need to know is the parking. If you go during the rush, parking is "interesting "

This place is our favorite for Sunday Brunch. I ventured out and tried a new dish, the HUEVOS RANCHEROS TRADICIONALES. It was outstanding. In fact, the lady and gentleman at the table next to me asked what I had ordered (perhaps some food coveting!). The service is always so fast and consistent. The staff is so friendly! And, we love the "casual vibe". And now, it's nap time!

We were looking to try somewhere new to us and decided to stop in to The Porch on Saturday afternoon. The weather was beautiful and we were looking to sit outside and enjoy. We had never been to the West End Mill Works area and thought it was really cool. We happened to stop in when they were having a pop up event with local vendors outside. The brewery and bar next door looked cool as well. We headed over to The Porch and walked inside where we were asked to wait for a hostess to seat us. The interior is decorated in bright colors and is warm and welcoming. My wife used the bathroom which she learned was shared among the various businesses in the building. During this time I was seated outside. She reported the bathroom was pretty gross. It was not clean or well stocked. They were almost out of soap and there were no paper towels. We were not provided menus but referred to the QR code on the table to access the menu. We rolled with it but prefer to have a menu we can hold. We also noted the prices are higher than most. Our drink orders (water) were taken and delivered but it took longer than anticipated for someone to stop in and take our food order. We decided to share the Three Amigos which features tortilla chips along with Mimi's queso, homemade salsa and fresh guacamole as our appetizer. My wife chose the Petaluma salad with grilled chicken and I chose the Las Favortias fried burrito. Our appetizer arrived quickly and looked yummy. The chips were crunchy and we really enjoyed all the accompaniments. Our entrees arrived a short while later and also looked good. My wife didn't think the salad had much flavor and said it was just okay. My burrito was also adequate but nothing special. Our bill for the three items was a bit over $50.00 and with the 20% tip amounted to just over $60.00. In our opinion it was underwhelming especially for the price.

This is an eclectic little spot right off downtown Winston. My wife and I visited during restaurant week and had a really nice experience. It's Tex-Mex with an almost West Indian flavor profile in the food. I had the Enchiladas and we shared the Southwest porch packets, which were essentially meat and cheese filled empanadas. But as I said before the flavor profiles reminded more of a Jamaican patty! It was delicious at any rate! The enchiladas were made with flour tortillas instead of corn which was a bold American change. They got a little gummy but the layers of flavors was on point! We will have to come back and try the quesadillas! Great Job!

It's been a while since I have been here. I forgot just how good the food is here. Oh, and don't forget about the margaritas which are really good. If you didn't already know, this is a Tex Mex restaurant. The salsa and cheese dip are really good. The Porch Taco Plate is really good. I prefer the steak but you can get several different fillings. The Porch is very popular so you may have to wait for a table, if you go during high volume times. They have inside and outside seating. Side note, they also have prepared food you can purchase and take home.

Great spot in Winston-Salem for Tex-Mex! Came here with a group of friends for lunch, and we all enjoyed their lovely outdoor space. Our server was attentive and knowledgable, and she helped us decide on our drinks. The porch offers a variety of different margarita flavors, and we opted to all do a flight. We each had 3 different margaritas, all of which were delicious. Our food came quickly and was well received! I may be a little nit-picky, but I wish my dish had been more flavorful. Regardless, my friends and I had a great time at the porch and will visit again!

Decided to try this place while on work travel. The service is excellent. My server made a wonderful recommendation for the smoked chicken to add in my rice bowl. The vibe was chill which was nice for a frumpy dressed down day. I went for a late lunch and also tried a local IPA and their queso. Sadly the queso was my least favorite thing. The queso was sweet and not your traditional melted hot yumminess. I would definitely come back for dinner as this place is nestled between a brewery and bar.

The Porch offers Tex-Mex cuisine and beverages. The restaurant is a little difficult to locate if you haven't been before (it's between two buildings in an alley). There's plenty of outdoor seating available with a canopy of cloths overhead. I got their margarita flight (Strawberry Habanero, Mixed Berry, and Peach). They looked amazing, but were a bit too sweet for me, although I do tend to like my drinks on the stronger side. The fresh strawberry, blackberry and peach ring were much welcomed to help differentiate the drinks in my flight as I'm often left guessing which is what. The chicken flautas were crispy and and flavorful. I enjoyed their size and the amount of filling. I added some cholula hot sauce for an extra kick and that paired wonderfully with the dish. Our server was amazing and very attentive. We were the only table outdoor, but she made sure to come check on us frequently. She also came readily available with recommendations if you had any questions. Overall, the experience was great, food was good, but the drinks were just a bit too sweet.

This was my first time at The Porch and it was great! I went with a larger group of friends. The hostess was very kind and accommodating for the larger group of us. Our wait staff was also very kind and welcoming from start to finish even though we hung out through a shift change. Great service! We sat outside - the vines and comfy seating are great for sitting outside on a beautiful day - enjoy a meal, some drinks, and a wonderful time with friends. The food was wonderful and super flavorful. I ordered the Asian Steak Salad and it was an absolute treat to my tastebuds - yes please! The drinks were delicious and perfectly strong. We all ordered drinks and tasted each others drinks - every single drink was great! The only downside is the cost. It is pretty pricey. I ordered 1 Moscow mules (about $13) and 1 Asian Steak Salad (about $17) and with the tip (20%) my meal alone was around $36 +/- tax or course per item. But I will say, it was all worth it; I just wouldn't be able to go often.

We have frequented The Porch for years and it does not disappoint. Great atmosphere, especially outdoors, good food, good drinks, friendly and competent servers. During COVID they maintained safe and sensible protocols. On our most recent visit I enjoyed a The Lucy cocktail (Tito's, lemon, honey simple syrup, basil and mixed berries) and it was the perfect sippable sweet/sour combo. I ordered the Hootie and the Fish Taco tacos and they were so good. (I don't think the poblano tartar sauce and bacon normally come on the side as pictured (I made a request that I think was misunderstood) but it was fun to "build your own taco" that way) . These tacos were on the limited time menu but I hope they will be added as a permanent fixture because they totally rock!

The is a true hole in a wall kind of place , thrips only get you in the area , but the you still have to walk and try to find the place it's in a shopping mall with a few other bars and shop and a brewery. No signs for any of them . We scene the patio seating outside and ended up walking through the back door . Service was slow but only one waiter the drink were okay no consistency two of the same margaritas one was straight liquor and the other had very little . The food was decent portions and the tropical shrimp tacos were the best seafood tacos I've ever had . The menu is kind of confusing as is the drink menu . The absolute shell shocker for this whole in a wall was the check for a family of three two drafts and two margaritas was $120 . Yes the food was good but just basic every day Mexican food that was more Americanized than anything was not worth the cost I could of gotten the same thing from a local Mexican restaurant and paid half of what I spent here. Nice one time never going to happen again experience

We loved our meal! We got the Texas Pete flautas, the special chicken poblano dish, nachos, and the chicken tacos. It was all delicious! The flautas were very good. Nice and crispy and has a great heat. The chicken poblano dish was also so good. It's in a cream sauce and comes with tortillas and some fixings and seasoned rice which was all very good. Our daughter got the chicken tacos, and they were simple but very delicious! And finally, the nachos were also so awesome. Super crispy and flavorful chips, great cheese sauce and toppings. All great, and we will be back!

I tried this restaurant twice before writing this review. The restaurant didn't live up to the hype. I believe the drinks and atmosphere are the draw for patrons. The food is mediocre but I will visit again.

This place has been on my list for a while. I was a little disappointed with my experience. For starters, I found it pretty difficult to locate. It's tucked off from street. Walking into the door the space was pretty compact. I decided to sit at the bar. The bartender greeted me promptly. I ordered the margarita special. To my excitement, it was spicy pineapple. While tasty, the drink was very jalapeño forward. For a started I ordered the avocado fries. I was very excited to try these. After one bite I was completely dissatisfied. They lacked salt and were completely over fried. As my entree, I got the shrimp tacos. For the price, I would expect it to come with rice and/or beans... but nothing. The tacos themselves were tasty, but needed some sort of sauce. Overall, it was just ok.

Haven't been in awhile. Must go back soon. I absolutely love the aesthetic in this place. Text Mex feels and colors are very inviting and festive! The food was absolutely amazing. The drinks are always on point. The staff there was super friendly minus the hostess. The hostess wasn't very warm or friendly even after we told her we were celebrating me being one month cancer free. However, the wait staff was excellent and punctual. We had an opportunity to sit in the garage which is now an extended version of the porch for a little over 2 years I believe. I ordered a Santa Clara Bowl and a Blueberry Basil margarita

*WARNING* I am vegan and therefore this review may not be too helpful to you but then again maybe it will. Last night was my second time eating here. It was super busy probably because of the crazy torrential downpour we were experiencing outside. Anywho. I like The Porch. It's a cute atmosphere. The service is pretty good. And overall I liked my food last time I visited as well. It took a little while to be greeted and when the Host took my name they butchered it. I wish people would just ask me to spell my name instead of scribbling a bunch of letters on the page. A seat opened at the bar and I chose to sit there instead of waiting for a table. Here is what I ordered this time around. 1. Limeade*no ice* it tastes pretty good but feels syrupy when drinking. I really wish they had some more exciting non alcoholic drinks. I don't remember how much this cost but I think it was expensive. 2. Chips and guacamole. The serving size of guacamole does not equal the serving size of chips. Can we get some more guacamole? I asked fore salsa. All in all my chips and guacamole were $8 and the extra salsa was $2 for a total of $10 that's pretty expensive considering and the salsa comes in a plastic to go container which really does dampen the whole "fresh" food experience. 3. I have been wanting to try the enchiladas since I ate here last time. This is not the journey of you are vegan. What I received was the saddest plate of enchiladas I have ever seen with an enchilada sauce that has sour cream in it. The food runner said that is what Tex mex is. Is Tex Mex mixing sour cream in all dishes? I thought it was the spices. But what do I know? Im just from Arizona and have no idea what Tex Mex is. I do know good Mexican tho. I returned my dry enchiladas. Even the brown guacamole on the plate told me that was a good choice. I feel bad returning food but this was not the dish for me. Another bartender asked me if I was vegan and proceeded to help me find something to eat(He is the reason y'all are getting 3 stars). I ended up having 4. the nacho salad with the portobello mushrooms(not vegan they have honey in them, not needed if you ask me). I enjoyed the salad even tho I was mortified and embarrassed I sent food back. Here are a couple takeaways from this meal. A clearly labeled menu would really help. Vegan enchilada sauce for the enchiladas. More fun non alcoholic drinks. Take the honey out of the Portobello mushrooms. Please. It is not nessecary. Either serve more guac or drop that price. You know most restaurants give chips and salsa for free. You are not chipotle, you don't need to act like it. Also some dishes for sauces instead of plastic to go containers. Again you are not chipotle. All in all. Dinner wasn't a complete disaster. I got the dinner I needed but not the dinner I wanted. It's a little expensive for the portions of some of the sides you pay for and the presentation you are given. I'll def eat here in the future. But I'll probably skip the chips and guac.

The food and drinks were absolutely great here! I had a shrimp Nacho Salad Bowl. This salad is huge and definitely shareable for the table. I also had Mango Habanero Margarita, which was amazing! The service was great as well and very knowledgeable on the items on the menu. And the ambiance was family-oriented and inviting. Overall 10/10 and I will be going back!

La Buena Cena - Braised Achiote Pork Belly, Jasmine Rice, Black Beans, Watercress, Avocado, Pumpkin Seeds, Queso Fresco & Cilantro Chimichurri This is a current fall special at the porch and if you're a fan of pork belly you have to run there right now. I've never had a better meal at the porch

This place was super expensive!!!! Food was very gross honestly. Not sure what people like about this place.

I've eaten here a bunch of times since my original review in 2014 so The Porch deserves an update. The fact that I have eaten here so many times suggests a more positive review in itself. The fact that the place is often packed also speaks for itself. I am particularly a fan of the mega margaritas - a great value at $14, just don't drive home after one. And I'm a sucker for the naked burrito bowl, which makes me think I am eating healthy. Only thing holding me back from 5* review is I don't think the lunch menu (especially) is a good value. E.g., most recently I got a special burrito for $16 for lunch. Pricey for lunch. It was supposed to come with jalapenos. It came with 4 slices. I asked for more and they brought me a small plastic cup of jalapenos. And charged me for them. I didn't appreciate that.

Fresh and delicious food, combined with the great atmosphere made for a wonderful dining experience. Margarita menu with many different flavors. Definitely will be back!

I love the porch, especially their new brunch menu. Sitting outside in the summer with a drink is so much fun, I always bring friends here.

We visited the porch for the first time last week and had a great experience. The food was wonderful. We have plans to go back. Everything came out quickly and was really good. The place is busy but a great time if you want to have live music with dinner.

5/5 stars for this please because of how awesome the flavor was. The whole energy of the place was also something that was rather captivating! The staff was incredibly friendly and the service was quick and competent. The tacos, the bowl, the flautas and all were right up to par. It's an adorable little spot as well that you can sit inside or outside. Sadly it was raining when we went, but this won't be the last time! I can't wait to return!

Absolutely fantastic. Why I had not come here sooner was the only question on my mind as I was devouring the pork belly tacos. They were pretty busy when I arrived and there was no outdoor seating available but had a table by the back door which we took. Service was slow to start but made up for it quickly. Had one of the best tasting cocktails prior to the food as well as a trio of dips and homemade chips as an app which was also delicious. The place is very clean and all of the staff were great. Will return soon.

This is the first time I've ever given anything less than 5-stars to The Porch. It is my favorite restaurant in Winston and I've never gotten anything I didn't love (including yesterday). All the dishes are flavorful, the atmosphere is great, and it's in a really cool setting. Which is why we brought friends from out of town to The Porch yesterday for their legendary brunch. We started with chip and dip trio (their guac is incredible). I got the Breakfast of Champions (even though I got it last time but it's just so DANG good) and it's one of the rare meals where I feel completely full afterwards. I love that they provided a variety of hot sauces and that Tabasco wasn't one of them. I (reluctantly) had to take off a star because our service was just TERRIBLE. I might rate this place a 2-star if it's my first visit. We waited ~20 minutes for a table and ended up being sat at a table that was open the entire time we were waiting (even though we were told twice they were "cleaning off" our table and it should be ready soon, which wasn't true since it sat empty the whole time we were waiting). Nonetheless, it gave us a chance to get caught up. However, our server was just...awful. I had to find her THREE times during our meal - once to request more chips, another time to tell her we were ready to order, and a third to ask for the check. My kids were restless and antsy by the end and we were all about done with being there by the end. I felt I had to apologize to my friends for bringing them here, which I had hyped so much, and left us wanting so much more. Come on, Porch, do better.

Love this little spot in the West End! Amazing, lush patio space for all groups whether it's you going solo or you're with a group of ten people. Colorful decor with super responsive and kind staff. Their menu includes lots of Mexican classics but I love their tacos and their enchiladas. Stuffed with smoked chicken and cheese and topped with their homemade salsa verde and queso. Chefs kiss. Their chicken flautas are also delicious and perfectly crispy topped with various salsas and pico! Try their fun margarita flights if they have them on special!

Love this little gem in Winston Salem. I had the Texas Pete flautas. So good!! Margarita flights on Friday! Indoor and outdoor seating. They also have Take out - and a cooler full ready to go meals to cook at home.

The Tex Mex fare is the best in town, an extensive menu. Quick service, friendly staff. I definitely recommend this for a great meal.

The Porch in Winston Salem has an ambiance that includes a sense of charm. The outdoor seating welcomes you with a warm space. I was swept away with their Yucatecan Pork Belly Tacos. I certainly give this place a 5/5 rating!

Good Tex-mex style offerings with their own twist. Many good offerings. Portions are just about the right size and flavors are great. Drinks are very expensive for such small glasses. Our chips were stale but the guac was fresh. Surprised that salsa was not gratis.

Honestly their guacamole is a good enough reason to love The Porch. Their guacamole is fresh with the perfect about of red onions and a good balance of chunky and smooth. Their salsa is also really good as it isn't spicy but definitely flavorful. The cheese dip is good but nothing over the top. This visit I decided to try something new the puffy tacos. I recently say a how good video on making them and been wanting to give them a try. My friend got the chicken which looked amazing because they used pieces of chicken breast instead of the usual shredded chicken. I had the Houston beef which is a chorizo and ground beef mix's the meat was very flavorful. The puffy shell was light and fluffy and loaded with great toppings. The tacos were huge. I ordered a side of black beans since nothing comes with the tacos besides guacamole, sour cream, and jalapeños on the side; but the addition of beans made it impossible for me to finish my tacos. The margaritas are also good. We got doubles. The raspberry mint doesn't have a strong mint flavor like I was hoping but it was still good. Also, if you enter from the front there's a ton of grab and go items some fresh some frozen in case you want an easy dinner at home one night!

For starters, the parking was slightly confusing for this place. The lot I originally went to was full but they have parking on both sides of the restaurant so you should be able to find something. I started with the strawberry habanero margarita. It had a nice sweet strawberry flavor with a hint of spice. We started our meal with the three amigos. The dips were pretty good. I ordered the enchiladas de la casa. They were yummy and I really liked the sauces they were topped with. My mom was with me and she got the Santa Clara rice bowl and she said the chicken in the bowl was not good at all and she just ate everything else in the bowl. So I'd probably suggest avoiding that if you go here!

Casual spot with indoor and outdoor seating in a cool area with very friendly service and good food and drinks. Stopped in on a Friday evening. They were quite busy but one of the servers helped us order drinks at the bar in the meantime. While we waited, we perused the many pre-made grab and go meals that were stacked in coolers at the front. It's great to know that you could pop in and grab a full meal to take home super quick. Bar seats opened up so we took those instead of waiting for a table. Our drinks were ready to go once we sat and our bartender/waiter was super nice. I ordered the Porch Naked Burrito Bowl with chicken and my husband ordered the Plain Jane burger with tots. Our food came out pretty quick and we dove right in! Both meals were great! The bowl tasted fresh and it wasn't smothered in queso so I could enjoy all of the other ingredients. My husband was already through his burger before I could ask him how it was. Clearly it hit the spot. Our margs were good too and they have a ton of flavors to choose from. Definitely will be back here soon and I look forward to exploring more of the little community it sits in.

My favorite place in Winston, which is now beloved to multiple friends who I've brought to the Porch while in town for Wake Forest sporting events. The food and margaritas are both to die for - cannot go wrong here. The most recent time I visited, they even have a seasonal menu... to make your selection even tougher with so many great options.

The Porch can be hit-or-miss, but it is overall a great spot. They have lots of options, from burgers to flautas to salads, and there is guaranteed to be something for everyone. There is almost always a wait, so plan your visit accordingly. I love the mixed drinks and the Texas Pete Flautas, and they have a large variety of ready-to-go meals in their freezer.

Delicious food! Service was ok. Really cool atmosphere. Will definitely be on our rotation!

My friend is from the area so she recommended this place when I told her I would be visiting for work. It had a really cute outdoor area but it was too hot for me to sit outside and the inside was cute as well. I got the chips and queso to start, the queso wasn't my favorite since I prefer a white queso but it was pretty good. Then I got the Dr. Pepper pot pie with pork since it was something different and it was pretty good. It was more barbecue taste than I expected but still tasty and came with tortillas on the side. The service wasn't the best and it took a long time to put in my dessert order and get my check. They also combined my check with another tables but they fixed it quickly. I got a cheesecake for dessert but did not like it. I brought it back to my hotel to eat and it had this taste of Mexican food on the cheesecake which wasn't a good combination.

It's good just a little pricey f. Bathroom was so dirty! It's like it wasn't cleaned the whole week :(

One of the first restaurants I ever went to when I came to Winston was The Porch. It seems to either be a big or small hit amongst the community. And I'm not sure where I stand exactly. They have a decent menu with many options, but it's very much Tex-Mex, IMO. I usually get the flautas, and they come with rice and beans and are full of flavor. They're also very cheeses and pretty heavy, so you can take some to-go to save for the next day. They have a great queso dip, which you can get with guac and salsa as a great starter. My favorite thing about The Porch is the back patio seating, because it has those great garden vibes with hanging lights and lots of colors. They're also right next to Hoots and this area has a lot of events.

Delicious Tex-mex cuisine where you can listen to great live music with the local events that they hold! Also they have great margaritas both the strawberry habanero and the spicy pineapple were my two favorites!

First of let me say that the service was excellent but the food was not. It's very NC Mexican food (fake).

Showed up for brunch after reading so many good reviews. Our waitress didn't seem too happy to see us and after I sent back my cold seasonless tacos, even less so. Decided my large margarita would have to fulfill my brunch needs. They're a little stingy with the tequila but the strawberry habanero flavor was pretty delicious. My friend loved her chicken and waffles and the avocado fries. Small space but there's some outdoor seating that looks like it's lovely when the weather is nice.

Excellent tex mex food. The outdoor setting changed a little but it is still nice. They added some outdoor seating (maybe during covid); I would recommend upgrading those a little and thinking about the flow. The older open area was more inviting. Service is great and the kitchen is efficient. It's a sure value in town.

I'm posting what everybody else already knows, but the porch is a delicious place with a great outside eating area. Delicious margaritas! Family friendly! Always check the specials!
