Midtown’s Southern-accented staple returned in August 2025 after a brief closure, serving beignets, shrimp and grits, and bourbon-laced brunch vibes. Covered by local news and beloved by residents, it remains a resilient community favorite.

My wife & I were here on a quiet Saturday afternoon. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. Great service, comfortable & cozy atmosphere with food that has us looking for a reason to come back. The brunch menu had so many options...definitely something for anyone. We started with 1/2 order of beignets, with fresh fruit. Tasty & light..not too sweet. I ordered the "breakfast burger"..hearty & filling GREAT creation! My wife had the "avocado scramble" which was just enough for her. I am telling you, the menu has something for everyone. We were pleasantly surprised it wasn't crowded...I am certain it will be next time.

We were a group of 8 with no reservations. Luckily after a round of cocktails at the bar we were seated in a perfect area at the back of the restaurant. Everything about the experience was excellent. Our waiter, Nick, was a lot of fun and he knew the menu like the back of his hand. The drinks were tasty. The food was phenomenal. The Shrimp Po Boy was as good as New Orleans any day. The brisket and eggs were killer. The chicken and waffles were ridiculously great. Everyone walked away saying the brunch was one of their best. We will absolutely be back and try to make a reservation next time.❤️

Let me start by saying we have been here before and our prior experience was better. We came for brunch. We waited about 12 min for a table even though the place was not that busy. We were OK, though. also will say that our server was super helpful and attentive. The problem and the reason for the 1 star were issues with food and the kitchen. Our order took over 40 min which was an issue with the kitchen as our server was constantly checking in us. When we got the food, the first thing was the scones were colds as ice and hollow inside. My avocado scrambled eggs was more slimy than anything else. The avocado felt as if it still had the skin on it. My wife French toasts were swimming in a liquid with an unbalanced flavor that made them uneatable. In fact, we left our plates as they are shown in the pictures as we could not eat them given the bad flavor, poor texture and overall bad experience. For the record, we pay the entire ticket and left a 18% gratuity as the server did. It has the fault for a terrible day in the kitchen. I am sorry but given this experience, I cannot recommend this place and it is unlikely I will ever go back.

From start to finish, my wife and i enjoyed our afternoon date here. It was my first time visiting here for brunch, and it will not be the last. He arrived about 15 minutes before our 12:30 reservation (I highly recommend a reservation), and we were promptly seated within 10 minutes. Our amazing server was kind enough to warn us that meals take about 45 minutes to an hour. We started with two red sangria and a Bacon Cheese Roll. The sangria was fantastic, with a slightly different twist on an original. The bread is fresh and a great filler while waiting on our food. We order a second cocktail, the Porch Peach Tea & the Low Country Lemonade. Both were amazing, well-balanced cocktails. Our food came within the hour. At no time did it feel like we were waiting that long. We had the Gam Benedict and Brisket & Bisquit. The food was outstanding. My only regret was not having room left to try their beignets. Well, looks like we have a reason to go back, as if we needed one.

Great food. You can tell it's made from scratch. Good portions. Good vibe. Good service. I will be going back.

Google
Not sure if there has been a change of Ownership... The food was not good (kindness way I can say...choose another Restaurant). The fried beets were salty and the sauce they were served with was essentially ketchup. The brisket / beef meatloaf was not good, nor was the greasy gravy. The mash potatoes were ok...I guess. Best thing on plate was the grilled corn. The biscuit was hard. Wait staff is nice.

Google
The Porch has a warm Southern charm with comfort food done right. The fried chicken and shrimp & grits were standout dishes. The portions were generous, and the service was welcoming. Great for brunch or dinner with friends.

Our waitress took care of hubby and his shellfish allergy. They were really good at recommending options and recommended something else when I told them my espresso martini was not what I expected. Very attentive of us and our little one!! Kinda pricey tho not sure if it’s the Cali tax 🤔

Yelp
Hubby and I took the day off. We were looking for a place we haven't been before to get a light brunch. We were seated after about 5 minutes, it seemed a little busy. The space was nice and they were playing light music. We ordered after scanning the menu a few times. I couldn't decide between shrimp & grits or French toast but went with the shrimp & grits with no bacon. Hubby ordered the biscuit sandwich with bacon. We also ordered three beignets. The beignets came about after 15 minutes and our food about 30 minutes. The waiter came by and let us know there was only one cook and he was working his butt off.

Yelp
I came in and asked for a west coast IPA and any recommendations. She brought me a west coast by Belching Beaver! One of the best I've had! Then I ordered the southern BLT based on her recommendation. It was very ok! The fryes could of been crispier for sure. its a chill environment. Nice outside seating. the beer was like $13... WAY overpriced for the area. I paid $8 down the street for an Irish car bomb.

Yelp
Tried The Porch for Father's Day. Over all a solid breakfast/ brunch place. Food: monthly special of blueberry lemon scones. Light and flaky served with fresh strawberries, pineapple and blackberries. Homemade lemon icing on top of the scones. We had the mushroom melt, brisket biscuit Benedict's and a bacon scramble biscuit sandwich. The mushroom melt was ok. Had 3 slices of avocado and mushrooms had great flavor. The two slices of toast got a bit soggy. Brisket biscuit Benedict's were yummy. Bacon biscuit sandwich was good. Nothing extra special. Not worth spending the extra $4 to sub out tater tots (which were frozen) vs breakfast potatoes. Service: our wait staff was kind and came back to set expectations of how long or when our food was coming up next. We had reservations and it wasn't booked out but service was slow. Ambiance: cute small outdoor dining area but as in all areas of midtown; homeless sleeping 2 doors down. Inside was cute with dark wood interior with an old fashioned bar decorated with small whiskey barrels. Loved the mason jars with handles for ice water mugs.

Yelp
I visited this restaurant on a Thursday afternoon around 1PM. There was plenty of street parking available outside, and while there's also a parking lot next to the building, it requires paid parking. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived, and we were greeted right away and asked if we preferred to sit inside or outside. We initially chose to sit outside but decided to move indoors due to some smoke from the surrounding area. The staff was very accommodating and quickly helped us relocate inside. After being seated, we were given water and had our drink orders taken. Once our drinks arrived, we placed our food orders. I ordered the Ham Benedict, and all of our food came out at the same time, which was great. My dish was still warm when it arrived, and the eggs were perfectly poached as they were soft and runny when I cut into them. Our server offered hot sauce options, and when we said yes, she brought out three different kinds, which was nice. Throughout the meal, our water glasses were consistently refilled, and our server was friendly and attentive. We received our check towards the end of the meal, and I appreciated she didn't rush us at all. Overall, great experience and good food.

Yelp
Hands down, best Eggs Benny I have had an my entire life. The Ham Benedict may need a different name. Pimento cheese spread atop a grilled English muffin topped with ham, a fried green tomato and the absolute best hollandaise I have ever had. This was an amazing treat. I will be returning, time and time again.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered the Beignets which just so happened to be the best thing we tried today. I ordered the Shrimp and grits for my entree and it was pretty good, the sauce they use wasn't really to my liking but the rest of the meal was good enough to where it didn't matter too much. The worst thing about this place and is why I am giving it a 3 star rating, was the wait time. We waited for an hour to get our entrees which is just unacceptable for any establishment. Probably won't return in the future.
google avatar

Tracy L.

Yelp
We came to The Porch for my friend's birthday and I was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered the Low Country Lemonade which was probably my favorite part of the meal. It came with alai vodka, blueberries, lemon juice, simple syrup, Sprite, and muddled blueberries. I thought it was a solid cocktail. For entree, I ordered the Biscuit Sandwich with Bacon. I expected it to look a little more appetizing, however as you can see from the picture, it wasn't that at all. The biscuit was broken and the presentation just looked messy. The food was okay; the biscuit was a little dry. We also ordered the Beignets to share. They were fine, although I wished they were a little fluffier. Not sure if I'd return.

Yelp
Sunday brunch was spot on! Chicken & waffles hit the mark, and the ham benedict with Tabasco hollandaise was delicious. Huge shoutout to our server Sky -- attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience 10/10. We'll be back!
google avatar

Marcel M.

Yelp
I hate to do it, but I have to do it. Let's start with the pros. Fantastic chicken and waffles, chicken was really crispy and well seasoned, delicious beignets, and I loved the cornbread. Also the service staff were all really nice and comped our appetizers because of the long wait. With that said, I won't be back anytime soon. The wait was 30 mins for a table with a reservation, food was another 45 min wait, they ran out of plates and silverware, the restaurant was LOUD, had to yell across the table, just overall wasn't a great experience. Maybe this was just Sunday brunch but I thought it'd be better. Food: 4.5/5 Service: 2.5/5 Ambiance: 2/5 Marcel's foodie score: 2.8/5
google avatar

Wendy F.

Yelp
Went on a busy Sunday for brunch for a friends birthday. We had a reservation but still had to wait for a few. Food was decent and tasty. Really liked the avocado scramble that I ordered. Service was slow for food, and the server coming around to check on us, but could've just been super busy. Waited around for a while to run our card for the check. Decent sized place. But overall, just ok.

Yelp
I made reservations on Saturday for a party of 4 on open table for a Birthday brunch . Then my friend the "Birthday girl" invited more people. I called and the restaurant was so accommodating and understanding . We sat at a huge nice table for our party that ended up being of 9 people total . Thanks to The Porch again for being so nice . We got treated so good . Our waiter Sky was so nice and attentive. Sky did an amazing job with such a big group . Our food was amazing . I was looking forward to having the chicken but sadly I have an allergy to shellfish and I was not able to have any . I was so bummed I wish they fried them separately but I understand. I got a salad with grilled chicken which was delicious . We got a lot of appetizers to share which all were so delicious . I was not able to try the beignets either since they're fried. We had an amazing time. The service was above and beyond . The food I did try was amazing I would be back ..

Yelp
We had the best post graduation brunch/lunch experience here at Porch. Very close to downtown. Only little bummer here is the parking situation but today was Pride celebration + NO KINGS + UC Davis Commencement 2025 all at the same day and time so lots of police and closed off streets. The parking is street and metered and towards the back of the small restaurant and you pay thru the QR app by scanning the photo QR and punch in your license plate number just don't park in a marked reserved spot. The food here is southern not an extensive menu with pics but a small condensed menu with a variety of offerings for your southern palette. They have cheese Brie s , beignets, and chicken and waffles all very good and applauded by our party. Prices are not astronomically high either it was fine. Inside has open kitchen , cute little bar . They accommodate us a party of 9 for reservations next to the front door. It didn't seem too tight at all ,plenty of elbow room. I ordered the biscuits beef brisket eggs Benedict. Might sound funny but the 2 small potatoes they came with it were very tasty probably the best potato's I've ever had-covered with Parmesan crumbs and other seasoning , very good. Service was excellent they asked questions , refilled waters offered drinks. They do have a mandatory gratuity for parties of 6 or more I believe so be ready for that. Everyone loved their food here and it was a memorable lunch celebrating a graduate. Very kick back and enjoyable not loud at all, very safe area around the downtown perimeter. Porch even wrote the graduates name on the menu so it's little things and acts like that make our experience here special. The menu itself is a valid reason here to come back again not just for a special occasion . Thank you, Porch! *TIP The chicken and waffles dish is huge , they don't mess around with portions here

Yelp
Service was great, food was delicious and was served extremely fast! The decor is pretty fabulous as well.

Yelp
The Porch is a great place to have a bite to eat, gather with friends and be merry. You can make a reservation here. When we were there, there was a big party celebrating a graduation. There was also another party celebrating a birthday. This restaurant has amazing cocktails, and delicious food. I've been a few times over the years and really enjoyed each experience. This latest experience included brunch, where we shared full beignets, ordered cocktails, and chose our bite to eat. Our server, Skye M was fantastic, giving us recommendations and communicating with us about being a bartender and a server during that time. In the past, I have been to The Porch with friends, celebrating, birthdays, and I am looking forward to the future where I can go back for a date with my husband.
google avatar

Yelp
The beignets were a little extra crispy and flavorless. The sauce was more sour than sweet. The saving grace was the sweet potato fries, but they were also a little extra crispy. I can't speak to the other food items, but the ones I got were underwhelming.

Meagan M.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday with my 2 young children. We made a reservation and were seated quickly. Drinks and appetizers came out quick. Everything seemed pleasant until 20 minutes passed, 30 minutes, and finally at around the 40 minute mark-- we still hadn't been served our entrees. Our kids were cranky and everyone was hungry so we decided to leave. When we arrived around 10:15am, they weren't very busy-- but as time passed, more and more people kept going inside. I don't know if this is common practice for them, but I will wait 30 minutes MAX for food at a busy restaurant. Fortunately we weren't charged for our drinks or apps, but overall we had a very unpleasant experience. Absolutely unacceptable and poor organization.

Shannon P.

Yelp
Beignets were flavorless- so sad as we were so excited for our meal. Chicken was dry and breading had no flavor. Biscuits were doughy.... Eggs were ordered over easy and they were hard. Meatloaf was delicious.

Yelp
Found a new hidden gem for southern food in Sacramento! Didn't know this place has been around since 2012 or even earlier! Great southern vibe and feel inside. Mason jars for drinks. Service was great, friendly and helpful. The Shrimp and Grits was very good. A different touch with BBQ sauce on the shrimp! It will be hard passing this dish up again, but will have to check out one of my all time favorites sandwiches, the shrimp Po' Boy! Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
This restaurant is my all-time favorite to go for brunch. I would recommend always making reservations if you want to come here this restaurant gets really really busy that is always kind of meh but food is great. The breakfast cocktail is always hit. The atmosphere is always loud and friendly with a bunch of people that come here with friends and family feels like a family establishment so it's a nice vibe. This place is awesome and I love coming here. The food is great. the service is always OK. The beverages are good is street parking but still cool
google avatar

KC C.

Yelp
Saturday's brunch as at the Porch and while the ambiance was charming, the food was just ok. The Southern-style décor and cozy vibe was definitely a pleasant atmosphere, but the meal itself fell short. We ordered a cappuccino, which was good. The avocado scramble lacked presentation--it looked hastily thrown together and didn't do much to excite the palate. As for the pancakes, they were just okay, nothing special. The service was great and speedy, and the atmosphere is definitely a plus, but the food didn't quite match the hype I'd seen in Yelp reviews. The Porch is a nice spot if you're looking for a laid-back brunch environment, but the quality of the food could be improved.
google avatar

Whitney C.

Yelp
The porch is very very good southern cooking! My girlfriend's and I had reservations on a Saturday night. It didn't seem too crowded. We started with beignets and grilled Brie. The beignets were so fluffy and fresh. The Brie was soooo good / I highly recommend adding the apples. For my entree, I got the shrimp n grits. It was interesting because it has bbq sauce on it but the sauce is spicy and savory and not too sweet, which I loved. The grits are nice and cheesy and rich which offsets the bbq sauce. I wish the bacon was precut cause you will have to cut it yourself. The shrimp is amazing. Service was great! Decor is a bit outdated, I'm not sure if they've updated the restaurant in awhile but still nice for a family outing or date night!!

Yelp
*** Note: This is a review of the consumables, the service, staff and ambiance were great. *** Returned here with friends for brunch on a Saturday afternoon around 12:30p. It was busy, then, by the time we were seated, it started to clear out. I was excited about the biscuits and gravy...WAS excited. Items Ordered Biscuits and gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs: 2.3/5 - I am not sure what happened, or if this was just an off day. The biscuits were dry, like borderline Popeyes. The gravy was not as flavorful as I remember. The bacon was alright. The eggs were eggs and I had a side pancake that was not the best. Flat, dry, with powered sugar? (To be fair, I didn't check if it actually was listed on the menu like that) Fried Green Tomatoes: 3.8/5 - these were fine. Sour, salty, good crust. Not sure what that sauce was on the bottom of the plate. That could've been left off honestly. The bacon on top was a nice touch. The boiled egg was nice, and also a boiled egg. Cornbread: I say 3/5, my friends say 3.9/5 - it was fine. Def more of the skillet cake type of deal. Honey butter was pleasant. The berry jam was fine, although a friend stated, "I can taste it but it has no flavor". Porch Peach Tea: 4.4/5 - Friend enjoyed it, the statement made was, "it slaps". Chicken Apple sausage: 4.2/5 - was fine. Not for $8 for a side of it, but this is life at the moment. Overall, I am going to hope today was just an off day and the kitchen was slammed. I may return again, and will try something else. Sidenote: Housemade hot sauce was decent.

Yelp
Some of the best biscuits & gravy I've had... everything else is a toss up. I have had some great meals here and some forgettable meals as well. Used to be my go to brunch spot, but they are no longer consistent with their efforts.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited here after a long absence with my girlfriend. I always enjoyed the porch, plus the parking is easier than downtown Sac. First of all great drinks. Though I did not partake on this occasion. The place was pretty full around 12:30 so we ate at the bar. We were up for breakfast so I told my girlfriend I would get her some beignet's. I decided on the shrimp Po boy. The shrimp Po boy was excellent, bountiful portions of shrimp with vegetables. A great combination. The beignet's were not as good as I remembered, but still good and you get a large portion and a beautiful presentation.with plenty of fruit. My only complaint was the service. The food took way too long and the wait staff would only come if we called them. Other than that the Porch is still a good place, they just need some improvements to the service.
google avatar

Jesus G.

Yelp
The drinks were good. Service was good. The southern BLT was also very good. The chicken and waffles were across-the-board disappointing. The waffle was missing some sugar and possibly a little salt too. The chicken did not taste as if it was seasoned in any way, and the batter (although nice and crunchy) lacked any kind of flavor. The fries that came with the southern BLT were awful. Under-salted and limp. The grilled chicken that came with the salad was sliced WITH the grain.... So yeah.
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
The Porch is one of Sacramento's big brunch spots and it just doesn't hit the mark for me. I've been here a few times, and each visit has been underwhelming. The food often comes out cold--even when we're with a group and order at the same time, it seems like the kitchen can't quite keep up. The wait for food is usually long, which makes me think the kitchen is consistently backed up. It's not terrible by any means--the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming--but compared to other brunch spots around downtown and midtown, it doesn't quite measure up. If you're in the area and looking for brunch, I'd probably steer you somewhere else.
google avatar

Becca ..

Yelp
Friendly service. Delicious food. Got the biscuit sandwich. Smaller size portion but just what I was looking for. It came with potatoes and had tons of flavor. The Mac and cheese is worth every bite. This place is super busy but has nice outdoor seating if you can't get a table inside. There are also heaters so it's enjoyable on cold days.
google avatar

Keya D.

Yelp
The Porch has been my go to for years... possibly best in Sacramento imo. (Y'all know I'm very critical of sac restaurants ) The menu changes seasonally and the fried green tomatoes and beignets are to die for
google avatar

Elisha W.

Yelp
The Porch was great! Went there for my birthday dinner with friends. The service was stellar. We were taken care of from the time we walked in until we left (which was after the time). They didn't say anything to us about leaving, which was really nice of them. The food was great, sizable portions, and their punch was very delicious. Also, they called ahead of time to customize the menus for my birthday, which was a very nice touch. I unfortunately left my menus, sadly.
google avatar

Madison J.

Yelp
We had their whiskey flight on a Friday night and the selection was versatile and worth the $! Their burger and fries were great! Meatloaf was salty. Fried tomatoes were not evenly seasoned. Our server was nice. Laid back neighborhood feel. Will come back for the whiskey flights and cocktails.
google avatar

Yel C.

Yelp
Sunday brunch. There were a lot of people but we got seated outside quickly. I ordered the vegan hash--it was too salty. They don't have a lot to offer not even their batter for pancakes or waffles can be made vegan. Just skip this place if you are vegan and go to Siblings or Capitol Garage. If you like over salted potatoes and vegetables, this place is for you. This place is also overpriced.

Yelp
The establishment has a great atmosphere aside from being extremely loud. The waitress was good. Took 45 minutes for the food to come out. When it arrived it looked great. I had the mushroom, avocado, bacon sandwich with Sunnyside eggs on top and the tater tots. The tots were very good but the sandwich fell extremely short of expectations and I couldn't finish it. Mushroom were way too salty.and the entire item mix on the sandwich was way to rich and didn't quite work. My wife had the two biscuit breakfast with eggs. She only got through half because of the richness. The boiled potatoes were off. She took half home for later but due to the difficulty she had digesting the food she through the rest away. I paid $8 to park, and $60 including tip. My wife and I really like trying new places but restaurant anxiety is a real thing. Always concerned if the food will not be good, or the portions will be tiny or the price will be sticker shock. The Porch adds to that anxiety now. Overpriced and not good. I give a 2 only because of the nice atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant as well as no problem with the waitress
google avatar

Joaquin F.

Yelp
The ambiance has a nice feel of eating in someone's home. The drinks were good and Alex our server was great. We ordered beignets which were way over cooked. You definitely had to use the strawberry jam in order to eat them. I had the brisket and biscuit plate. It was definitely tasty. The meat was more shredded beef than an actual brisket.

Yelp
Happened to find the right pocket of time to arrive during a busy Saturday brunch hour so my party of 3 was able to be seated right away. Shelby greeted us with a smile and great vibe- if i stopped my review here it would be 5 stars just for her! We had a cup of coffee, skillet cornbread, mac n cheese, crimini mushroom melt, and the shrimp n grits. Coffee wasn't bad. Cornbread- ooohhh, great start! great texture, moist, yet a crisp on the edges. Mac n cheese - the breadcrumbs on top didn't do anything for it. pull and temp was good. flavor was lacking. supposed to be 4 cheeses, but could've used a 5th cheese. Shrimp n grits- if you like a little bbq sauce in your shrimp n grits then maybe you'll like this. Me? I wouldn't order again. Shrimp was a bit overcooked too. Mushroom Melt- unless you like the taste of bacon being fried in some old bacon grease don't waste your money. This is the first time i've had "bad" bacon. This order was a fail all around. Shelby was empathetic about our yuck face for the sandwich so she kindly credit us for the item. May try again for Shelby and some cocktails.

Yelp
Been here a few times and the food is good. The first time was for brunch and there was a wait since it was during peak hour. the food was good. The second times I was here with some friends and the food was good as well. I got their version of the chicken salad, while my friends got the shrimp and grits, which was delicious. It was plenty of seating and a bar area also. Service was great as well. I would come here again for the food and scene, but parking is difficult to find, especially on weekends and expect a long wait.

Yelp
The food was amazing! I was a little nervous about the potatoes when I seen them come out. Let me just say those were probably the best potatoes I've had in a very long time!

Yelp
Came here for a girls brunch. Good thing we came in around 1030 on a Saturday because after 11 or so people started coming in all at once. Service was on point and that brisket Benedict was so good but a little bit on the heavy side for me. Beignets were delicious as well.

Yelp
The porch use to be our favorite place to go when it first opened, we haven't been in years and stopped in on Friday night. I love the porch, I love the southern food and the southern hospitality. On this visit I ordered the shrimp and grits which I've never gotten before, my favorite dish is the fried chicken but wanted to try something different. I loved the portion size however the porch BBQ sauce was too spicy for me. I am going back for more can't keep me away from good southern food
google avatar

Jasmine D.

Yelp
This place was great! I'd recommend trying it at least once if you want Southern food! Service is quick and the ambiance is nice but BUSY. They are pretty packed on the weekends but if you can go during the weekend, i'd highly recommend it.

Yelp
This was the second place I went to on my food tour of Sacramento and I'm glad I did! The Porch is quite inconspicuous, what looks to be a house from the outside with a quaint porch turns into a gorgeous restaurant inside. The inside has a southern charm to it and makes you feel like you're no longer in California. The service was impeccable, our server was knowledgeable of the menu and gave great advice on what to have. The beignets were melt in your mouth sweet and savory delectable. I had the pulled brisket biscuit which I thoroughly enjoyed with one minor critique of the bbq sauce being just a tad sweet. I gave four stars only because I've heard from locals that the quality of food depends on the chef. I think we came on a good chef day last Saturday. I'll probably go back to try more of the menu there was so much I wanted to try!

Yelp
I've been to The Porch twice and my most recent visit was excellent. We got their early, 10am. We were seated immediately. We perused the menu and started out with coffee. Great big mugs with lots of room for cream. Quite tasty. We ordered beignets to share. They were light and fluffy, and served with delicious berries. Presentation was gorgeous and delicious. I had the biscuits and sawmill gravy with fried eggs, bacon and tatertots. The gravy had some great Cajun seasoning that provided a unique twist on the traditional white sausage gravy. The biscuits were really dense and the eggs and tots were perfect. Huge portion, so I took more than half of it home. Be sure to ask for the house made ranch, too. You can taste the fresh dill. Very good!

Yelp
I finally got to try this place out and was left with mixed feelings. We placed an order online which was easy and convenient for when arrived and were seated quickly. We were informed that all dishes would be about a 45 minute wait but that starters were quicker. We decided to order the beignets and cheese bread which were savory and sweet. Little did I know that would have been the best part of the meal. I ordered to regular benedict with ham, American cheese and potato tots. It was my error in not realizing that American cheese was added but it wasnt my favorite. The hollandaise sauce was extra creamy which also proved to be a little different than your typical benedict. I was confused when I saw two small potatoes on my plate as I understood potato tots would be a side, thinking of tater tots. I left wishing that this would have been a different experience as I had heard great things. I will say that our server was attentive and very nice. They checked in to see if we had everything we needed and brought out extra hot sauce in a timely manner.

Yelp
We came on father's day, and the restaurant was slammed. Our server was friendly, but she pointed out fairly that things were going to be busy and slow. We were absolutely fine with any wait since we had our coffee, tea, Mimosa and Ramos fizz. The Ramos fizz was one of the reasons I chose The Porch, but unfortunately it didn't taste anything like it should and was downright bad. Huge disappointment! All the food we ordered was just fair. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits dish was completely overcooked. Poboy lacked flavor. Chicken and waffles was soggy. Hoping this restaurant is better on a non-Holiday, when it isn't packed solid. I won't be going back to find out.

Yelp
So disappointed! The Porch used to be so yummy but I haven't been in a long time and I was craving fried chicken. The service was great, there was no wait and the food came out fast. The mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese were good, the biscuits were delicious, but MAN was the fried batter bland. We started with the fried green tomatoes and they were completely flavorless. I was really hoping my chicken would be different but it literally tastes like they forgot to put seasoning in it. It was perfectly cooked and crispy but it genuinely tastes like water.

Yelp
A friend and I met here for a weekday brunch. We shared the cornbread as an appetizer and the chicken and waffles entree. The cornbread was ok. A little dry and bland. A jalapeño jam or jalapeño honey butter could have gone a long way. The chicken and waffles were split for us. We each had half a Belgian waffle with three large chicken strips. It was fantastic. The seasoning on the chicken strips was very good. My friend had an iced oat milk latte that she said was delicious. I would definitely go back. Service was good, food was good, prices were fair.

Yelp
It's been years since i was last at The Porch but it was just as good as I remembered. The Bloody Mary was awesome. The Ham Benedict with a side of the cheesy grits was delicious! I highly recommend everyone to make a pitstop at The Porch if you're in Sac or even passing through Sac.

Yelp
We had a Sunday brunch here, and it was an interesting experience. Our server was really, really busy, but still did a good job of trying to make it back to us on a semi-frequent basis. They had cute cups for water, a nice little touch. They also gave us personalized menus with a birthday message, as we had put birthday on the reservation. We were seated promptly as well. When it comes to that side of the whole experience, that was all good. When it comes to the food, I wish I could say the same. For appetizers, the beignets were alright. They were heavier than the ones at Disneyland, and dense. The best thing about the beignets was the berry compote. That was good and provided a nice contrast to the actual beignets. We had the bread cheese roll, and it was interesting. The brioche was soft and good. The toppings were alright, as was the filling. To me, when it comes to cheese topped brioche, I'd prefer a good ensaymada, but it was solid. The mains weren't as good as the appetizers, unfortunately. I was hoping for better since it took a while to receive it. Just two tiny potatoes, and a lot of hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise sauce was overwhelming, so much so that I didn't feel like eating the leftovers we took home.

Yelp
Hadn't been here in many years. Was in town and could walk from the hotel so thought it was a good idea. The food was good. Prices were fair. Ambiance noisy but fun. Service was very slow. The kitchen must have been overwhelmed. Took almost 30 minutes to get an appetizer of Brie cheese which was the best I have ever had. Yummy and delicious. The fried chicken was an enormous portion with sweet potato fries. The slaw was a new addition to their menu and extremely spicy with Tabasco cream. I would recommend this restaurant.
