Really cute spot in Boulder! We were seated on the patio and it took a while for a server to get out to us, but otherwise our experience was great! Food was really delicious, cooks were very accommodating to changes. They also allow pups outside which is always a plus!

We tried a bunch of stuff—biscuits, hibiscus drink, chicken and waffles, beets, and the buffalo chicken sandwich—and honestly, everything was really tasty. The biscuits especially were super fluffy and buttery, and the hibiscus drink was refreshing with a nice tang. Our server Jacob was awesome—he memorized our whole order without writing anything down, which was seriously impressive and he didn’t miss a beat. The overall vibe was great too. We sat outside and it was really chill, good for catching up or just hanging out. Heads up: if it says “spicy” on the menu, they mean it. The Nashville hot sauce and the buffalo chicken both packed a real kick. If you’re into heat, you’ll love it. If not, maybe ask for sauce on the side. Definitely worth a visit—good food, solid service, nice atmosphere. Recommended!

I’d like to start by saying Shelley was so incredible and deserves all the praise!! This is such a cute neighborhood spot. I started with an espresso martini and my fiancé loved their non-alcoholic options, both fantastic. The green chile bison sausage board appetizer was incredible, but the chicken tortilla soup was so yummy. The fried chicken is a must and the shrimp and grits were so good I’d come back just for that. We order so much we were stuffed but couldn’t skip the banana slip for dessert. Trust me, order it! Diverse menu, great vibes, and something for everyone on their menu

Google
Some of the best Cheddar Biscuits with Honey Butter I've ever had! Do not miss out on these. Got the Half Fried Chicken Plate. It was a very respectable plate. Was it " The Best" Fried Chicken of my life? No, but it was still pretty awesome, and worth the visit. The service was friendly, but extremely slow. Bartenders were inattentive and often missing. Two Cheddar Biscuits I initially ordered took a solid 30 minutes. It's ok,they were worth waiting on.

Gluten free fried chicken is all a man needs today - and I tell you what, The Post is where to get it. Incredible GF options and quality. I got the fried half chicken and it was hot, crispy, flavorful, and the chicken was great quality. Thank you for providing all us GF folk with a slice of heaven. The only aspect that The Post lacked, ironically, was they don't have a good GF beer selection. With a vibrant GF menu, I thought they'd have more beers but only had the Holidaily Blonde (which is a great beer) but a tiny bit disappointing that that's all they had. Also, we tried the GF upside-down cake which I appreciate they have! But it was a little crumbly and thought it was more of a warm baked cake. Alas, these are minor side notes of a powerful fried chicken restaurant! Thank you! (also thank you for still letting people make simple reservations on your website!)

Google
Delicious food & great chicken & beer. Hubby loved the Alabama BBQ, waffle side, along with endless options and kind professional staff! Wonderful Fathers Day Special!! Enjoyed deviled eggs and the biscuits to start, creative and tasty cocktails, and the s’mores dessert. Came back and had the 4th of July special! Delicious deviled eggs, biscuits, drinks, and fried chicken entrees. Tasty pie for dessert!

Google
I enjoyed the beer selection and the Brussels sprouts were very good. But I didn't care for the taco Tuesday taco special and wouldn't order it again. Good atmosphere for an evening meeting spot. The bartender was friendly and helpful.

Google
The Post in Boulder has the same awesome chicken, which is amazing and gluten free. Wednesdays it also has fried fish!! Delicious. they also were a ticket seller for Phish, so cool.

Yelp
Their chicken and hatch Mac and cheese was definitely a reason to return. The service was quick and the server was attentive. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
First timer in CO and after a hike, browsed around for some sustenance and was glad to find THE POST! Food: -bone in chicken: the breading and meat- SOLID. -fries: I am a FRY GAL. And these fries were DELICIOUS. crunchy and soft on the inside, seemingly seasoned in a way that wasn't overpowering but delicious as a stand alone. I honestly could just order fries and be glad for it, heh heh. -original fried chicken sandwich: I really loved it! I loved the breading crispiness to the tender meatiness. I'm really big on that though and so the crunch and taste was delicious, of course adding some sauce too! Drinks: -townie beer: so delicious. whether the tiredness from the hike or whatnot, it was yummy! also love the pour and how it looked, heh Ambiance: -sat outside and other than just nature in the form of flies, it was lovely! It's a very cute outdoor seating area and I think I'd still prefer to sit out here! Service: -prompt, professional, friendly, helpful, and even though we were among the only groups outside, still came out to check in. Appreciated them! Overall: The Post? YUP.

Yelp
The chicken is quite lovely but F this place ! Let me explain. Of course I had to get the fried chicken but my partner in crime ordered the fingers. Which is perfectly okay but they asked for ranch in the side. I am from Buffalo and ordering ranch with fingers/ wings / strips would keep you from getting through the pearly gates. Well at least some dirty looks from the locals. Well these $&-/:%# plopped down a cup of ranch that is by far the best I have ever had ! It was so good I asked for some in a to go cup so I could dip my left over fried chicken into. I am still very much anti ranch to dip chicken into unless it is from here! I need the recipe . . . I still hate yelp doesn't offer half stars. This is better than 3 stars. Sit Eat Sit outside And enjoy

Yelp
i had a great experience here! our waiter was quite monotone but helpful. we started off with the happy hour deviled eggs (vegetarian). they were really yummy! super full as well. then i got the 3 piece tender with slaw. their tenders here are gluten free which is fantastic! they came out a little raw (the fried part) on one of mine but honestly it happened. the coleslaw was so good if you are into a thicker ranchy kind. would totally come back to try more!
google avatar

Yelp
Tenders for the table didn't disappoint. Highly recc the Mac n cheese, hatch green chile especially. We also got the soup. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Very good chicken and waffles. I was too hungry and forgot to take a picture of the food. Very flavorful. Fried chicken had a crisp shell and good flavor. Sat outside on their lovely patio on a blue sky Boulder day and it was very nice.

Yelp
I thought it was good. Went as part of a work group (seven people) and all of us had fun. We shared a few appetizers, I thought the deviled eggs and the fried cauliflower were probably the best. I then had the four pieces of fried chicken. It was good, not too greasy, meaty chicken, but it wasn't world changing. Something I would go back for but would not travel to boulder for. The only disappointed was the squash side, I found it hard and not a great taste.

Sam T.

Yelp
This place is really bad. The "chicken crispies" are described on the menu as breaded chicken thigh strips but actually are just little leftover pieces of chicken skin that they bread and deep fry. Nothing but oily fatty breading around chicken skin. The menu also says to pick two sauces with this pathetic dish but they then charge you extra for the sauces. Got the collard greens also and that is nothing but a tiny bit of mediocre greens in a whole lot of water.

Yelp
This seems like a great place to dine on Pearl Street, but the restaurant was basically empty when I visited on a Thursday evening. The GF fried chicken is amazing. The happy hour drink specials were pretty typical, if I recall. Maybe something like $1 off draughts. *Edit: The GM of the Post informed me that they have 2-for-1 draught beer when it's snowing. The dining room is large and clean. It was a bit dark for my preference, but that's probably just me. No surprise here: the wait staff was very attentive since there weren't many customers. The price for fried chicken is a bit high until you realize that getting GF fried chicken is not as common. If you're GF, definitely consider stopping by The Post.

Yelp
We ate here this past Sunday and initially we were the only ones there. Food came out with items missing and the quality was poor. I don't know if it was because they weren't busy but that's never an excuse. One of us got sick and is still recovering. This place has gone downhill.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Post is good, but I'd try other things if I was to go again. We went at the end of the night, so perhaps we didn't get the freshest meals, but what stood out to me was the amount of breading. I think there was way too much breading in comparison to the meat - especially on the thigh nuggets. Don't order those unless you want a ton of crunchy ends.
google avatar

Danielle G.

Yelp
Service was friendly and attentive, even with it very busy! Located just a few feet off of the bustling Pearl St, The Post Chicken + Beer menu is shockingly, you guessed it, mostly chicken. Wings, fried tenders, pot pies, grilled chicken, sandwiches and also salads, small plates like deviled eggs and the like, it's a good spot. They have a full bar too, but just beer.
google avatar

Tarrah T.

Yelp
It's not an easy task to find a restaurant that can accommodate large groups with ease, but The Post in Boulder did it and did it well! We've been doing a girls' night for 15 years now, with a different restaurant each time, and this was one that catered to everyone! We all enjoyed our meals, the fun seasonal drinks (Christmastime), the decor, and the service. Being GF, I love that I can eat chicken strips here, too! Just a great overall experience!
google avatar

Yelp
Very good food and fine service. We shared a few appetizers and cocktails which were heavy but good. Our favorite was the cauliflower and deviled eggs. Great casual spot for lunch or dinner but expect to leave very full. I had the berry berry quite contrary which was sweet but I enjoyed it. The Velvet Elk Lounge next door is a great after dinner drinks spot as well!

Phinn M.

Yelp
Drink took 10 minutes to be served at an empty bar (we were the only people sitting there at 3:45 on a Thursday for a late lunch) cancelled our food after a half hour- basic fried chicken slider and a deviled egg. Our drinks were fine but the staff seem to have attention focused elsewhere - again an empty restaurant... Big red F-

Yelp
Excellent fried chicken! In town with a group of friends from Florida and of course the first thing I do is check out if Food Network has ever been and here we go! Service was great, food was great! I wish we could have tried more and will definitely return if ever in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
The Post specializes in hot chicken and cold beer, and they do it right! I've been a Post customer ever since I moved to Colorado and have been to all of their locations- they rock. On this occasion I had the fried chicken tenders and French fries. And an IPA. Everything was delicious. Consider making a reservation before you go as it's a popular place. The service was great- the staff is very friendly and responsive. In short, a super place to eat.
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
Came here and thought it looked good. I ordered chicken fingers and my husband got the chicken sand. Chicken tenders were bland but chicken tasted fresh. Unfortunately they charge for ranch if the dish doesn't come with it on the menu. They don't tell you either just charge it. I needed another side but didn't want to get charged so I didn't ask. Ordered a drink off the special menu and they were out of it. Went with a regular margarita instead and it tasted like tequila and water with a hint of lime. Service was great though!
google avatar

Savannah K.

Yelp
The Post is extremely well known for their fried chicken but didn't impress me. It was very average--almost entirely breading. If you prefer 85% breading to 15% chicken, this is the place for you.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening after walking around the area. Getting a seat was super easy and the waiters were pretty nice. We ordered the post-fried chicken sandy and yoga pants salad and split both of them. The fries with the sandwich were pretty good and I definitely recommend getting ranch or ketchup to go with it. The fried chicken sandwich was okay at best. It was a little dry and could use more sauce. The yoga pants salad was refreshing and really well made. The ratio of salad to toppings was good. Overall, the food was decent but I can't say that I would go out of my way to come here.

Cassidy R.

Yelp
*Update* the manager reached out and was very helpful in addressing our complaints. The professionalism that he showed would have me give the restaurant another chance. The food was pretty good, we got chicken wings and two buffalo sandwiches but the sandwiches don't come with any sides and for $15 I think they should. The big problem was with the service. Our meals all came out at different times and there was only 4 of us. The server was very inattentive (he never asked how our food was, if we would like another beer) and slow. He forgot about the soda refill I asked for and the side salad I ordered came out after we all finished our meal. This was also after asking the server about the salad when we got the other items. Our server removed the side salad from our bill but overall, we wouldn't come back. For a meal that cost close to $100 we were pretty disappointed.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my dinner at The Post. I came with friends and ordered family style. I highly recommend this to try multiple things. The chicken was crispy and yummy! We got brussels sprouts and deviled eggs as appetizers to share. Both were great! Side highlights include Fries (great seasoning), Collards, and Waffles. The waffles were perfection - trust me on this! I would skip the biscuits (dense, not good southern biscuits - someone DM me and tell me where to get good biscuits in Denver) and Mac and cheese (very bland). Also opt to get all of the dipping sauces. I loved them all!
google avatar

Dave Y.

Yelp
Known for their chicken so I ordered their chicken. Came out nearly oil burnt so I asked if that was normal. Answer was no, so they redid it in less than a couple minutes somehow. The second batch was pretty darn good at least. I really enjoyed the SS salad on the side too.
google avatar

Tammy S.

Yelp
My husband and I went here after our first film from the Boulder International Film Festival and comfort food was in order. I ordered the Jazzy G and T and my husband got an El Corn amber lager. The drinks were fine. My drink tasted more honey than anything so I couldn't get the Jasmine in the gin flavor which is why I ordered it. It paired ok with the Nashville Hot chicken so that made it work. We shared the Nashville Hot Chicken tenders with fries and a half order of slaw. The chicken was hot and juicy and Spivey as it should be. The only reason for less than 5 stars on the food is that the breading was a bit thick. The slaw was delicious as you could actually taste the ingredients and it wasn't covered in a heavy dressing. (I'm not even that big on slaw but thought I should have some kind of vegetable that wasn't fried). When you want fried chicken and a cozy place to go, this is a go to spot.

Yelp
We had an excellent experience at The Post in Boulder! Food was great, and the service was absolutely top notch. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and patient when it took us awhile at the outset to decide what we wanted. The manager, Garrett, stopped by our table to see how we were doing and was so friendly and helpful! You could tell he really cared about the experience people have at his establishment. I had chicken and waffle and they were both top notch. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their food as well. We will absolutely make a point to stop here again next time we are in town.
google avatar

Melissa B.

Yelp
We loved the Post when we first started going, but the last five or six times we've gone we have felt a bit queasy afterwards. I'm not sure if it's just that the food is rich or if the chicken wasn't cooked properly (I've wondered a couple of times if it was fully cooked). We've had some positive and very negative experiences service-wise, too. It's hit and miss, but we still go there occasionally. It's no longer the automatic yes it was, but we're still willing to give it a chance.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Delicious spot. Great staff and clean decor. The food was awesome and the beer choices were awesome as well. People watching and football watching at its finest. I highly recommend eating here
google avatar

Reid S.

Yelp
The service was good. However, the food was a big disappointment. I got the chicken and waffles and it is a far cry from what it was two years ago. The chicken and waffles used to be four waffle squares and a hand breaded massive amount of chicken with a spicy syrup sauce. That was very good. Now for $19 it is two waffle squares and a paper thin chicken breast that tastes like it was breaded in a factory. If I was the chicken that died for this I'd be fuming.
google avatar

Melinda S.

Yelp
The chicken & waffles were great! The mashed potatoes were even better. The staff here is super friendly! But our bartender Ryan was so great! He made the best "old fashioned" I have had in a while.
google avatar

Richie R.

Yelp
Nice place & Good ambiance and that is why it 3 star. Food is below average and no flavor to any of the four dishes we ordered. Waffle & Chicken ... super dry and it good Meatloaf - tasted like a quick rush was put together spun up .... Cheese burger - ok Chicken strip sandwich - below average, but the Mac & cheese which was a side is the only item which had some flavor fur by taste buds. Sadly, this is a one and fine experience for me. Unsatisfied meal for $90 bucks.
google avatar

Chelsea O.

Yelp
Best meal we had on the trip. We had a group of 4 and we split one of their family meals - PLENTY of food and so yummy. The biscuits were to die for. Chicken wasn't overly breaded. Sides were amazing. The one thing we weren't a huge fan of was the Brussels. Also overly seasoned? They were kinda swimming in the marinate. You HAVE to get the deviled eggs. Would return!
google avatar

Alice Z.

Yelp
I was in boulder and decided to stop by there and was able to get a last minute reservation. Chicken was solid, tried the chicken sandwich and chicken biscuit and Brussel sprouts. Definitely worth it for a quick lunch break
google avatar

Toni C.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in Boulder! This restaurant has gluten free fried chicken and I don't feel like it's very advertised but it should be! Everything at this restaurant is good. My favorite thing to order is the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Definitely check it out
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Great spot for all things chicken and beer. TVs for the games and a casual environment with great food. Service was top notch too. Try the Fried Chicken Biscuit brunch meal, it was delish!

Deb C.

Yelp
Staff was friendly. Food was average to poor. There are better places around to get chicken.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
Gross. I know fried chicken and this was terrible 2/10. Chewy. Just gross don't know how to say it. Lack of staff maybe - couldn't clear the table even after we paid the check. Hummus appetizer is generally a healthy one, this one is served with fried chicken skin. Fried cauliflower. Fried Brussels sprouts. Do not go to this place.
google avatar

nat e.

Yelp
I am addicted to the sweatpants salad! It's so so delicious! Nice low key vibe here with great bar, cocktails, and food. Great for a fun dinner with friends!
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
This Sweat Pants salad was largely consumed with the crispy chicken fries. These chicken fries are mostly breading. I love breading but it was a bit much for me. Good spot to stop in for a quick lunch and drinks.

Teresa M.

Yelp
Wonderful place. The chicken is absolutely delicious. The beer is great and the staff were attentive, nice, and knowledgeable about the offerings.
google avatar

Brian S.

Yelp
The food was good but even more enjoyable was our waitress. It would have been another pub dinner in another town but the playful attitude was infectious, even if we had to wear a mask until our food was served.
google avatar

chris c.

Yelp
I've eaten at The Post more times than I can count. I mean, GF fried chicken!! Yes and thank you. Brunch was a new experience. After a long night of steady tequila cocktails brunch was a must. I had the huevos rancheros and Oh My God! The addition of fried popcorn chicken on top blew my mind and the Bloody was a must. It had the perfect amount of spice to chase the tequila blues away. This may not be a 'known' in the Boulder brunch circuit but it should be.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
Nice bar in good location. I had the wings. They were good. Pearl street has lots of things to see and this place is one of them

Courtney C.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised by this chicken and beer space. Service was just OK. Large group like ours is tough to manage but thought they could've been more attentive. Food wise - Thought everything would be greasy and heavy, but was totally caught off guard - in the best way!! Frankly... I enjoyed the sides way better than the chicken itself but everything was good. Do not leave without ordering the yoga pants or the beats and sweets. It will change your life.
google avatar

Sheridan M.

Yelp
Perfect spot to grab a cold beer and crispy chicken tenders post hike. A Boulder must every time we're in the area, the Arnold Palmer inspired beer is my favorite.

Joe M.

Yelp
Awesome service, awesome servers, awesome craft beer and appetizers. Come in and enjoy yourselves.
google avatar

Rose R.

Yelp
We stopped by here for lunch out on a day trip to Boulder. It was awesome! I ordered the huevos rancheros & it was way above expectations. Every single bite was perfection. The varied textures perfectly compliment each fork full and the seasoning used on the chicken is outta this world. My husband had the post breakfast and my daughter had the chicken n waffles. The vibe of this place was welcoming & chill. We were stuffed and ready for the day afterwards.

Rick H.

Yelp
Reprehensible behavior from the bartender, food was cold by the time she finally decided to serve it. Worst attitude and behavior we have ever witnessed. One of the servers apologized and the other customers were embarrassed. They really need to place a rainbow flag in the window to let straight couples know to not expect service or professional behavior. Possibly, the refusal of service, and unprovoked hostility is because my wife is Native American. Navaho/Jicarilla Apache. An unfortunate embarrassing experience we will not repeat at this establishment.
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Great food but not so great service! Service was very slow, place was busy and although we got seated immediately, it took a while for our drinks to arrive and even longer for the food. Food was great and hot! Drinks were different and they rotate their beer selection. Would eat here again, but if you're in a hurry, it may be a while before you leave. Able to pay your bill with a QR code- efficient!

Jim S.

Yelp
Weird menu, slow service to get a beer Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcccccccccccccccccccccccvvvvvvvvvvvvvv

Yelp
I don't give out 5 star reviews easily so this place really wowed me. I ordered the post fried chicken sandwich made Nashville hot and it was so crispy and perfectly cooked. The fact that it didn't get soggy actually amazed me. The sauces paired very nicely as well. I also ordered the mash potatoes on the side which were to die for. There were a few things I would change however they aren't pressing enough that I would make this review 4 stars. 1. It would be nice if there were more options to the way you could get your fried chicken served 2. The sandwich I did get could've used a little more sweetness, the flavors were great but didn't send me through the roof 3. The root beer was pretty awful and I love me some good root beer Great place! Will be back, but it'd be nice if they had more variety in chicken sandwich options. Maybe a classic pickles and ranch would be good.
