The Postcard - Review - Buckhead - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"When mornings are hard for us, sipping on one of The Postcard’s signature matcha drinks makes it better. This tiny coffee shop in Buckhead keeps things simple with typical coffee options like americanos and espresso. Yet, no one really orders those. It’s all about matcha—a rich, smooth blend that runs laps over the pod-cup brews your friend swears by. Order their iced wave blue that blends earthy matcha with fruity blueberry and lavender syrups. There are a few tables here, but the minimalist space (with a few potted plants and that’s about it) means most people jet back to their cars immediately after ordering." - Juli Horsford

Matcha latte had too much milk and not enough matcha. In ATL, this is 4/5. Across major US cities, 2/5. Cute ambience but hard to find seating on Sat afternoon. Maybe I should get the matchacano next time.

Dear Self, Remember when your caffeine journey started as a college survival mechanism for Midterms/Finals, evolved into workplace fuel to survive Tuesday, and somehow transformed into a full-blown cafe treasure hunt like Sméagol looking for “his Precious”? Well, congratulations – you've just discovered The Postcard, a deceptively small space that's clearly run by flavor wizards who've been hiding their otherworldly powers behind a charmingly simple storefront. These aren't ordinary baristas; they're flavor cartographers mapping out taste territories you didn't even know existed. Self, you decided to go on an adventure with their matcha strawberry yuzu tonic – because apparently you're at the "why not try something that sounds like a riddle" phase of your cafe evolution. Girlie, the earthy, grounding taste of matcha dancing with fizzy bubbles while sweet strawberry and tangy yuzu crashed the party? SHUT UP. That drink alone had you coming back smiling like the Cheshire Cat, hoping to dive a bit more into that caffeinated wonderland. "Curiouser and curiouser," indeed. The staff here were so genuinely friendly and knowledgeable, they're basically human postcards themselves – the kind of warm, personal touch that makes you want to tell everyone back home about this hidden gem you discovered. They remembered you on your second visit, as well as the name of your friend and her husband on a separate occasion – and they've only been open for a few months! Sure, they're not one of those big-name coffee chains where you can order the same predictable drink at 50,000 locations. But that's exactly their superpower – they're an authentic local experience that creates unique moments you can't get anywhere else. You may not know what the future holds for this café, but right now, you’re throughly enjoying the trip, and you’re hoping that they and places just like theirs will stick around for a long time. The Postcard proved to you once again that sometimes the best magic happens in the smallest spaces. Wishing You Were Here, Your Caffeinated Self P.S. –You’ll never forgive them though for that espresso shot made from locally roasted beans that actually lived up to its caffeine promise. You’re writing this review at 2 AM because apparently "one shot" was more like "one rocket fuel injection straight to the nervous system." TTFN!

Stopped by the Postcard today! I loved their blue wave matcha - it was delicious. I believe the owner was making drinks, and he was very kind and pleasant to speak too. I enjoyed the interior - lots of wooden accents and plant life. There is lot parking and I’d recommend this place to my friends!! Thank so much!

Cute little coffee shop in Buckhead! We needed a little pick me up before heading to the rest of our errands and my sister found this place. We ordered quickly and our drinks were made quickly. Cute, quick and delicious! Great experience!

Google
the vibes are cute and the employees are nice, but the drinks are just alright. we got the speciality strawberry rose and blueberry lavender matchas and they were $10 each (+$1 up charge for oatmilk) the cup size was super tiny for an iced drink. It tasted good but I didn’t taste much of the matcha itself as I tasted more of the syrup and I just can’t justify the price for what it was. you can get better elsewhere tbh

The cashier and barista were so nice and the drink was soooo good, that strawberry tasted like it was just picked this morning 😋. And the serve pastries from flour and time? The croissant I just demolished was the best vegan pastry I’ve ever eaten 😭😭.

Google
It was a truly uplifting way to start my morning. Three gifted baristas, serving expertly crafted coffee. The ambiance was inspiring and their in-depth knowledge of the beans guided me to the perfect coffee to kick-start my day. Danny, from Flow Coffee, was there and mentored me to the perfect drink. He collaborated with the other two baristas and the incredible concoction created for myself and my wife was nothing short of phenomenal. What a fantastic way to begin your Sunday on the way to church. I would highly recommend everyone to become a Postcard fan.

Google
Small coffee/matcha shop… but as a recent matcha convert, I’m happy to find a cafe that has as much emphasis on fun matcha flavors as it does on espresso drinks. Suggestion to the owner,,, the Wave Blue matcha might as well be a “regular” matcha latte with an added weird texture from the blueberry puree - it just looks nice aesthetically, and the blended up skin is not a fun texture: I can barely taste the fruit or the lavender since they’re such subtle flavors… guava/passionfruit cold foam or elderberry syrup would give “punchier summer flavors” in pairing it with the matcha. Blueberry gotta go 😭 Nonetheless I will be back due to the amazing service… other places do not have such warm, inviting people working🥺

Yelp
The Postcard has the BEST matcha in Atlanta! Their signature "Wave Blue" matcha with lavender and blueberry syrup is my favorite. I also love their "Pink Rose" matcha which has strawberry and rose syrup. They have other fun syrups to add like black sesame and rose vanilla as well! My boyfriend and I also enjoy their coffee! Honestly, you can't go wrong with any menu item! The service is amazing, the owner & staff are so kind & truly care about your experience. They are really helpful when recommending drinks and sharing the flavor pairings behind each drink! The interior is beautiful, clean, and inviting with wood accents, plants, and coffee table books. The parking is free, and there's plenty! I highly recommend stopping by!!

Yelp
Yummy, high-quality matcha and friendly service. As a barista, I love this spot. Don't sleep on The Postcard!

Yelp
I was in search of a good matcha and found this place near our hotel. Spoiler: it was great. It was the perfect blend of sweet and matcha, not too milky or sweet at all. It is a little pricey at $9 for the matcha but worth it imo. They got it out extremely fast. The inside is small with a few tables to sit at. Would recommend if you are in search of good matcha!

Yelp
Stopped by when I was visiting ATL. My husband and I really enjoyed our matchas. I had a matcha latte with almond milk and he had the same but with a shot of espresso. They were delicious and high quality! Service was nice and fast. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
I got to try one of their fall specials and it was very good matcha, good ratio to powder and milk but not the best I've had. It is on the pricier side being $9 and additional $1 for non dairy options, served in a small cup. Parking was free, very limited seating. It's good if you want nice quality matcha that you'd finish in under 10 minutes

Yelp
This is a cozy little coffee shop in Buckhead, serving the best cappuccino in Atlanta. I have reviewed over 50 coffee places on Yelp, and the Postcard is the real deal. The espresso beans originate in Colombia, roasted locally by Flow Coffee. Very pleasant service. Excellent pastries from Flour + Time. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This was a really cute coffee shop. I ordered the pumpkin spice latte with almond milk and it was good. It could've been a little more pumpkiny, but it was good. The barista put a cute little design on my coffee and they also sold pastries. I didn't purchase one. But all in all I would probably visit again. I just don't know that I would get the pumpkin spice. Now I did tell him I wanted to add vanilla and he said it would probably be too sweet with vanilla, but I should've went with my gut and got vanilla, but like I said, besides it just not having the a stronger pumpkin taste, it was good.

Yelp
This place is beautiful, warm and inviting. Service was very welcoming and helpful in trying all non dairy milk to see what option would go best with my order. They offer oat, almond and pistachio milk. I ordered a chocolate pastry and their blueberry lavender matcha, i am just not sure how i feel. The presentation is beautiful but on both items i spent 18$, the pastry was mid.. the matcha had great presentation but was not sweet enough for me.. something was missing, they're innovative with great ideas i am looking forward to trying different options when i return.

Yelp
The Wave Blue was delicious and refreshing while not being too sweet. They make their own syrups. They are very friendly and fast. The matcha yuzu tonic is also a nice light, but flavorful drink. This place is a must try if you're a matcha lover!

Yelp
Kind staff and the best matcha in Atlanta! So glad this place exists. Every time it's always consistently amazing!

Yelp
It was good but very overpriced, $19 for 2 of these and they are quite small. Also, no food so keep that in mind. The staff acted a bit strange about me asking opinions on the different options but I guess that's on me.

Yelp
Overpriced! I paid nearly $10 for a small cup of matcha. The place has limited space so there's not a lot of tables and chairs. Service was alright considering how expensive the drinks are for mediocre and watered down quality. It is located in a plaza so there is free parking. I found this place through an IG reel post from a foodie influencer as she hyped it. Overall, I don't plan to come back here nor recommend this place.

Yelp
The postcard is my favorite place to enjoy a matcha. They always have creative flavors and the taste of the matcha is strong. It is a bit pricey but it is worth it!

Yelp
Second time here. Great service and nice folks. They know what they're doing! I got the blue Jerry match, super refreshing and fresh.

Yelp
I really wished I enjoyed my experience more here. I ordered a lavender latte and before tax it was already $7.45 not even with a specialty milk. The drink itself was just okay nothing spectacular and felt the size was rather tiny given the price of it. The shop itself is cute, but rather small I just feel given what was provided it should not have been that price. Overall, I want to give them a chance and maybe their matcha is better, but their coffee was not exactly what I was hoping for.

Yelp
Best matcha in Atlanta, coffee is great, and service is friendly as well. I highly recommend this place.
