I found this place because I was looking for nontoxic hair color. I lucked out because the stylists here are great. Jaimie, the owner, is amazing! She took the time to figure out my style and understand how my hair takes color. Everyone before has gotten it wrong. I’m extremely particular about my very long layered hair and it’s never looked better. Thank you Jaimie!

I had the best experience at this salon. When you book online with this salon, you have an option to upload inspiration pictures. I received services from Alison, who was sweet, kind and pays attention to detail. Alison sat down and asked me what it was I like about these photos. That communication made all of the difference. She understood my vision and she DELIVERED. It's been a few weeks and I am still SO SO happy with my hair. Everyone was so friendly, great salon.

i LOVE the powder room. i've been going here for about a year now, and every time i leave, i feel like a billion bucks. the salon is adorable, with lush lively plants, great decor, and super welcoming and cozy atmosphere. i'm always offered an iced coffee with a glass straw, which i just love. and dressed in an adorable robe under the color cape. très chic! she always has little snacks at her station. she goes above & beyond to ensure comfort & care for every client. the lounge chairs at the shampoo bowls are extra comfy with a nice recline and footrest. she even asks you if you want a blanket if you are cold! c'mon!! the owner, and my go-to gal jaimie b is the Best in the game! she does an amazing bleach & tone on me every 6 weeks. she is super skilled at her craft, and is always taking classes, trainings, or teaching to further her education. she uses the Végétalement organic color line on me, and it's awesome. i've been a bleach & tone for half my life, and my hair has never been happier than it is under jaimie's care 💕 she really does Keep It Sexy!

Amazing and beautiful salon! Devon who cut and colored my hair took the time to sit and listen to me and he knew exactly what to do! He is an incredible stylist and human!! Really wonderful experience here yesterday. I got a haircut and blowout with Eduardo. The salon has a very calm relaxing atmosphere. I felt welcome and at ease through the whole process. Kat at the front desk was great too. The interior is chic and airy with lots of plants and natural light. There’s no official parking but there’s a dead end street/alley right past it that I found a spot in.

Every stylist does a good job. The owner is personable and her dog is the cutest. The owner colored my hair, after the stlyist canceled. It looked phenomenal! Too bad I don't live in California anymore. Highly recommend.

I really, really wish I could give this place a good review. I've never left a review for anything before and have always assumed that if I had a less-than-awesome experience with a hairstylist it was probably just a mismatch in our tastes or a failure on my part to give clear instructions. I felt compelled to write this because it's honestly the first time I have ever left with the impression that I was taken advantage of. I booked online and called after to confirm that I had chosen the appropriate stylists (following information on the site, I had chosen 2 of them, one for the cut, one for color). I was told my selections were great and I'd be in good hands. When I arrived there was some confusion with the schedule (which wasn't explained to me) and one person would be doing both services. This person repeatedly had to ask a colleague for clarification about basic hair color stuff - like which colors and activators to use. My stylist was quite transparent about not knowing how to use the color line. The advice the colleague provided was off the mark and I had to step in and offer an alternative plan for what to do. We're not talking about some complicated thing - this was a for a single-process root touch-up. The haircut was equally amateurish. I cut my own hair for most of last year and did a better job. I immediately went home and had to fix my bangs and the lopsided ends of my hair. This whole ordeal cost $400. They carry great products and it seems like many of the stylists are well loved. Maybe it was just an off day and it will never happen to anyone else. But if you aren't keen on taking a little risk with your hair and money, maybe think about trying somewhere else first.

The powder room is the only salon I will go to to color my hair. So I went back a month ago and the lovely woman who took care of me chose the perfect color. It looks even better a month into it. Super happy. Thank you.

My hair was ruined here and I was charged $700 for it. I was talked into by the owner Jamie in having a hair smoothing/straightening treatment. I wasn't told until afterwards it would cost $500. I was then told I should come back a couple of days later for the color which is what I had originally gone in there for. I wanted it to have a bit of cinnamon on the brown hair I had just box dyed myself which I told her about. She said she would need to lighten the color a bit. Me, not being a professional, assumed she was just going to wash out the box dye with a clarifying shampoo. But what she did was put bleach all over my head until my scalp was burning, and bleached out all the brown from my hair until it was a bright yellow blonde! Then she tried to put color back into my hair, which of course was very patchy. She was never able to make it look cinnamon color because my hair had been stripped and was ruined. At one point she asked me if she thought she should add red to my hair and I said I don't know. I am not at stylist. I then had to go to another salon the next day to try to get it fixed because my hair looked like ridiculous bright orange clown hair. The salon I went to to get my hair fixed said that on the box of hair straightening it says never dye hair or bleach it for at least two weeks after a straightening treatment when I pointed this out to Jamie she refused to acknowledge her mistake. When I asked her for some money back she was extremely unprofessional and insulting, and wouldn't give me any money back even though I had to pay another salon to fix her debacle. I just wanted to let other people know so they don't have their hair ruined like mine. My hair was strong and healthy when I went in, and now it feels like straw. It's going to take a very long time for it to come back and look normal again. Maybe years:(

Kat is a fantastic colorist and hair stylist! I've been coming to see her for almost a year and I'm always happy with the results. The salon's vibe is very cool and chill. Highly recommend this place!

Warning: Do not go to this place for a Pura Luxe treatment. I have had this treatment twice before and the results were great and long lasting, however after paying $570 for the treatment and a trim, my hair was not smooth or frizz-free. My ends were brittle and my hair is still frizzy. [This was not apparent at the salon as it was flat ironed, but became apparent after I washed my hair at home.] Obviously, the process was not done correctly. I had to go to a trusted hairdresser for a deep condition and trim. Although I complained to the owner and stylist, I was not given even a partial refund. In fact, the owner was defensive instead of accommodating. The stylist offered another treatment for $150. Why would I go back?? If you are interested in Pura Luxe, which is a great treatment for smoothing hair, try one of the other places on their website and don't get ripped off here.

I'm frankly filled with joy over the beautiful experience I shared with Eduardo today. I'm in love with my hair (this doesn't come easy to me). It dried gorgeous with minimal effort, will be easy to wear down on the run, can still do my favorite tricks and makes a pretty pony tail which is no small miracle with this asymmetrical mop of mine. Hair is important but even better is what a sweetheart, bad ass and all around wonderful human Eduardo is! I look forward to more amazing hair and also a new friend in this fabulous fella. I immediately referred my best friends which is the highest compliment I can pay. To great vibes and great hair! Cheers!

So great!! I had booked a different place for a blow out for an event and they canceled on me last min. I was scrambling to find some place and when I called they said they could take me!! I have previously only really been to dry bar and after feeling like all hope was lost - Jose at the powder room in silver lake came to my rescue. Also not only did they come In clutch- but such a thoughtful blowout. Took the time to really get every strand and make it bouncy and perfect. Can't wait to come back here!!

I decided to try weft extensions for the first time about a year ago and did *extensive* research before discovering The Powder Room / Jaimie. I was immediately obsessed (as Jaimie promised I'd be) and haven't looked back. Jaimie is super knowledgeable and really, really, really knows the craft of extensions. She will work with you to make sure placement, length, color, and comfort are just right. I'm the type of person who does not like having to go get my hair or nails done regularly so I was worried about the maintenance/upkeep required, but Jaimie works very efficiently and always gets me in and out really quickly (follow up appointments after first install are only about 15 min), which I very much appreciate. So happy to have finally found my lifetime stylist.

While I went with a full understanding of the cost of a new client haircut ($225), I didn't know that they only accepted Zelle/Vemno/AppleCash, so I was scrambling to find a way to pay. The haircut wasn't anything special (especially for the price they charge) and it would have been nice to have let me know of the Spring haircut sale that was for $150(I didn't see it at first on their website). My hair is thin and short/medium length, so with all services included (wash/blow dry/style), it took 30 minutes and I didn't feel like there was a thorough hair consultation. While my stylist was nice and I appreciated the tea, unfortunately I won't be coming back.

Thanks to Eduardo, visiting the Powder Room has been the best salon experience. Not only is he fun and friendly, but he's also professional and highly skilled. I always used to put my hair up in a ponytail or bun because I didn't know how to take care of or style my hair correctly. I booked an appointment with Eduardo and got the PARA LUXE smoothing treatment. After getting the treatment, I received more compliments on my hair than I'd ever had before. The confidence you get when you have a great hair day elevates your day. After the smoothing treatment, I have great hair days daily. This was truly the worst haircut experience I've ever had in my entire life. I found this salon through ClassPass and seeing as how one haircut was extremely expensive, I was hoping they would do an amazing job; but that was not the case. The stylist was nice, but I'm literally shocked that he didn't try to style my hair or do much of anything. He just cut it in 30 min and that was it. No wash, no water, no product, no styling. For a $120+ haircut, I really would've expected more. I asked for side bangs and he literally two chunks of hair in the front and they are kind of choppy, I don't know if that was done on purpose, but I'm extremely confused by how my haircut turned out. I've been to places and paid much less and gotten an extremely better haircut. Overall, I'm just extremely confused by this experience. Maybe it's because I booked it through ClassPass, they don't want to do anything? I'm not sure, but I've booked a cheaper haircuts through ClassPass before and they did a lot more than this. They even blow dried my hair before I left, which I don't expect but it was nice. Just super confused.... He didn't even spray water to make the lengths even... he legit just brushed my hair out, cut it and that was it. Honestly if it was cheap I wouldn't have minded but the fact I paid so much; I'm just mind blown. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Well worth it! Ladies (and gents) treat yourself: Jaimie and Shane's work is masterful, custom-tailored, and has the client's 'best look' in mind during all aspects of hair treatment. You'll walk out of the Powder room feeling renewed and with a little pep in your step. My hair feels and looks so luxurious after a keratin treatment, face-framing highlights and layered haircut. Will definitely be returning!!

Jose is a miracle worker. Jose did my hair and makeup for two of my wedding celebration events and made me look like a celebrity. He's super accommodating with schedules and really really really cares about his customers. Love you so much Jose!

I moved right before the pandemic and haven't gotten my hair done in over a year. I've been nervous to go with COVID, but it just got to the point where I didn't feel like myself. The Powder Room was taking great precautions. There was only one other customer in the salon while I was there, everyone had a mask on, and the door was open so there was a breeze in the high ceiling open room. There is FREE parking in the back of the Silver Lake location. I didn't realize this so parked at a meter. They offered to move my car for me while I was processing rather than having to run out and feed the meter. How nice is that!? As a redhead, I'm always weary to let a new person touch my color as it can go drastically wrong. Jaimie did such a fabulous job though!! The color is better than I could have dreamed. She used non toxic color that made my hair feel better than it every has after a color treatment. And they use Oribe products which are some of my favorite! Plus it was a really fun environment, I'd love to just sit in there with a glass of wine and hang out! During non-COVID times of course. Thanks so much Jaimie - I will definitely be back!!

EDUARDO is amazing!! The new Powder Room location opened up in my neighborhood and I kept driving by so made an appointment to get my hair cut and got assigned Eduardo. I initially went in for a trim, but decided to make a move I had secretly wanted to make, which is to go for a Young Leonardo de Caprio haircut. After listening to my story, Eduardo and I vibed so hard he cut all my hair off. It feels so soft and healthy, and looks good with a mustache or with big ass hoop earrings. Truly gender-neutral cut. Also this man is hilarious, and maybe if you're good he'll be your friend! The space is mad cute and they have a little salon dog with a mohawk, and if that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will.

This salon is truly amazing. From the name to the decor, it serves delicious complimentary beverages and uses only the best products ORBEY. I have been seeing "Juan Hernandoz" for years now and couldn't been happier with the amazing coloring, cut and blowing. I truly would recommend him to anyone, I never had a bad hair day since I met him. All of my friends and family also get treatments, cuts, color with him, truly the best hair stylist ‍ in Los Angeles, I would never change him. If your looking for an amazing hair color specialist and edgy hairdresser don't look any further than him. Also if you like "dogs" the owner has the cutest dog. Teddy and if your lucky he will come say hi when your there. Hands down best salon and best hairdresser!!!can't wait to go back again

Wonderful hair salon in Fairfax area. I'll be coming back & you should too! One really cool thing about this salon was that the hairstylist asked me to send her pictures of the types of haircuts I would like. I sent some of Amelie Poulain pictures (front & back) because I always danced around the idea of getting her haircut one day, especially since I grew up in France & wanted to sport an uber French cut. It was the perfect occasion to get a short haircut as I'm currently in the military and had to brief some higher ups the following week. A short cute/sharp haircut with an Amelie-style was what I needed! My hairstylist made it happen. She expertly crafted the haircut, making sure the backside ended in that perfect triangular point that looks exactly like In the movie. She was also able to cut my hair such that it curls in a lovely rounded shape at the ends, which makes it really easy to style in the morning. Additionally, I highly recommend this salon for their top notch blowouts. My hairstylist gave me not 1, but 2 over the course of my haircut, which is pretty cool and rare. The first blowout was to take a look and see what my new haircut looked like in a more straight, classic look. She was able to give the hair so much movement & bouncy shape, it was a classic french bob! Then she used a a hair curling device which created a second look: stunning curls. The most beautiful ones I have ever seen. If you are looking for a curly hair style, you must come to this salon. Finally I want to give a shoutout to my stylist for being so personable, passionate about her profession & all around a wonderful warm person to spend 1.5 hours with during the course of this epic transformation. I love my new French bob.

I have been seeing Jaime for my cut for over 4 years now. I am very picky about my hair and trust very few people to cut it. Jaime is ABSOLUTELY one of them. She is a brilliant stylist and colorist. When I've booked her to do my bleach & tone, she has not only done an incredible job, creating a dimensional color and mixing up the perfect custom tone for my skin's undertones, the products she uses do not irritate my scalp and my hair is left damage-free, hydrated, and glossy. The haircuts she gives me are perfect every time. The first time I saw her, she took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for, my style and aesthetic, reviewed my reference photos, and checked in with me throughout to make sure I was happy with the process. Now that I've been seeing her for years now, she knows my style, what works on me, and she turns it out every time. I leave looking and feeling sexy. The salon is gorgeous and has a great vibe. Every stylist is kind and friendly. Can't recommend it enough.

Jaimie, the owner of TPR is by far my favorite hair stylist EVER and I've had dozens, maybe even many dozens. She's brilliant and such a powerhouse of creativity! Had the best color and cut of my life with incredible all natural hair color - no chemicals! The Silver Lake salon is gorgeous and has such great energy. It is sophisticated while being a very friendly and welcoming space. With good sparkly vibes for days. And don't get me started on Jaimie's dog, Teddy. This cute little nugget (who has a Mohawk btw) waits for people to go to the sinks and as soon as you're reclined, he ever so gently hops up on your lap to snuggle. Sweetest pup ever. I booked a blow out and had the best experience I've ever enjoyed on classpass. There was street parking available so I knew this was a great sign. When I arrived I was greeted by a stylist right away that offered me a few choices of beverages. The atmosphere was chic and cozy, which was exactly what I was looking for as I was on a break from mom duty. That said, I had been feeling really insecure about my postpartum hair loss. Devin didn't make me feel rushed at all, and offered an abundance of advice for my recent hair loss. Once we got started he was so sweet and FAST. Before I knew it, he was already done and it looked fucking amazing. A new level of confidence had been unlocked. Five stars for this team! Thank you for such a relaxing and welcoming experience!

With my previous salon closed down I hadn't gone for a haircut in quite some time. Frustrated with the nothingness of my hair I was driving down Sunset last week one evening and saw this salon open, and walk ins were welcome. I went in and didn't have to wait long to be seen. I tend to let the person cutting my hair have a lot of freedom with what they do, but the young lady who saw me (and I'm sorry to say, her name escapes my mind) walked me through what exactly I wanted. I ended up going for an asymmetrical bob, and she made sure I was good with the lengths on either side. Being a first time client I was a bit anxious to see how things would turn out, but was so happy with the results! The service was excellent, and I felt at ease with the whole process. I was VERY happy with how my hair turned out, and I've been receiving so many compliments on how great it looks. I will definitely be going here as a regular customer to keep my hair looking great!

Got hair cut and color here a little while back and they charged me $950. It was just my roots and a straight hair trim. I'm still reeling. Hair was cut by the owner who did not seem to care about anything. She was on and off the phone the entire time, disappearing for 30 minutes at a time during the cut in order to "run up the clock". Would NOT recommend. There's so many other BETTER places. Go there instead.

Jose was very kind and lovely. My hair just wasn't as straight as I would have liked it to be, but would give it another go with him. He had great energy.

Corrine is my HERO! I have been wanting to try The Powder Room LA for a while now since they have such great Yelp reviews; however, I have been disappointed by SO MANY expensive salons in LA that I kind of just gave up on having cute hair... that was the case until I met the amazing a magical Corrine! Corrine does exceptional work! I've never had such perfectly placed foils on my head when getting highlights. I actually asked her if I could take a picture of her work because of how precise each foil was... it was a piece of art. I walked out of the Salon and my hair was exactly as requested. Corrine totally listens to you and is super fun to be around. It has taken me years to find someone I trust with my hair and I am just so thrilled I found her!

Eduardo did my color today. I have followed him since living in NYC as he the only one I can truly trust to touch my hair. He has been doing my color for the past 5 years. I am getting my engagement photos this week. He has done highlights, balayage, roots, and hair cuts for me over the years. I am 40 so my resistant grays are no joke, but not with Eduardo! Today, we decided to go lighter with highlights for the Matador Beach photo shoot. As always he nailed it and I am super confident about heading into my engagement photos this week with my classy golden roots knowing my hair is on point !

I took a chance on a new stylist and I am forever grateful that I did. His name is Devin Aidan and he did a magnificent Cezanne treatment on me and lemme tell you -- goodbye frizz. He followed w a haircut that transformed me from hideous to chic. personally, I hate the Bev Hills manic energy salon style. Devin works a mellow shop with great spirit and great energy. NEED TO GET YOUR HAIR DID DURING COVID-19??? I had walked by 'The Powder Room' about a thousand times, and when COVID-19 hit I was in desperate need to get my hair done. My usual spot was half way across town and not conducive for me anymore. I randomly called in and got an appointment straight away with Jaime. Serendipitous . She did my hair on their back deck outside in our masks ~ it was perfect. I'm now a forever customer of Jaime's! She's so sweet, fast and takes the time to really understand what style/color etc. That I was looking for. Support this local neighborhood hair salon! Go see JAIME!

I chose The Powder Room to get my hair done because i knew they used the best products. Vegan and organic, exactly what i would trust on my hair. I was welcomed by Jaimie and she was so kind and easy to talk too! She kept her area very clean and there was no one else around us so i felt very safe. :) ill deffinitly be back! Thank you Jaimie! I dyed my hair about 8 years ago and it was so bad I promised myself that I would never do it again. But because of Covid I needed some light in my life so I decided to take the plunge. I DO NOT regret it one bit! Eduardo is a magician and my hair looks and feels amazing. I wanted a subtle change and I couldn't be happier with my results. Due to Covid-19 I wasn't sure how comfortable I would feel getting my cut. Everyone at the powder room made me feel at ease, everyone was warm and welcoming, the place was clean and everyone was wearing a mask. This is my first cut in 9 months and I am so happy with my stylist work. Jose is amazing, He listened to what I wanted and gave me the perfect cut. I definitely recommend this place specially Jose, he's amazing, has beautiful energy and will listen to your needs. I will absolutely be back.

Jose Cantu gave me the best haircut. He also gave me a color gloss and a few face frame highlights. I can't believe how great it came out. It was exactly what I wantI feel like a new person!! The salon is super cute, too! I love coming here. Thank you, Jose! :)

I cannot say enough good things about Jaimie and every experience I've had at The Powder Room! I've been coming to Jaimie for years and she is truly a master at listening to what you want and explaining every option of how to get there. I've been to both of her salons which are super cute and comfortable, and you can tell a lot of effort has gone into creating a vibe that's welcoming and professional. Every stylist or assistant I've interacted with has been so warm and friendly and other clients always seem to be having an equally enjoyable experience. Jaimie herself is incredibly kind and just so good at what she does - I am so grateful to have found her!

So, I got a haircut here and it didn't work out. - They were super helpful in getting me in last minute, but the stylist seemed rushed because of it. - The first version of my cut was blunt if a bit basic, and I asked for more shaping to break it up. I left looking like Severus Snape as a result, which all my friends found hilarious. Me not so much. - Styling portion was very rushed, not finished, and looked frizzy. Nowhere near the level of finished styling I'm used to at my normal salon. Overall, in these situations communication is key. Me and my stylist just didn't really connect on the cut/styling (which is why I'm not throwing her name out there), and as a result I got something I wasn't happy about. I just wish she was a bit more proactive in addressing it instead of letting me leave like that, I flat out told her I wasn't afraid of a shorter cut. I'm getting a corrective cut tomorrow at 10am, so this cut literally is going to end up costing me $400. But that's the risk when you try a new salon. The pic below was literally (5) min after I left the salon.

So happy that I found this place, especially Curtis. First time client and I love how my hair turned out. I had very grown out highlights and he was super knowledgeable and honest about my options. We went with a glaze to even out the color and change it up - it's perfect. His energy, spirit and friendly demeanor made the whole process more enjoyable (I hate so sitting to get my hair done hence the grown out highlights). Thank you Curtis!! I'll definitely be back.
