View is beautiful and the food and service were fantastic! I honestly one of the best bison burgers I have tasted in a while. Fries are an upcharge and good but the burger definitely made it. Drinks were very good and well priced. Will be back!

We stumbled upon this place when we were traveling from San Antonio to Houston. The view is enticing, and the food is great. There's an option to sit at the covered patio overlooking the river. This is a family-kid friendly place. Very attentive staff. Overall, we are pleased with our meals and we enjoyed our lunch.

Google
What a fun relaxed and intriguing place to dine! This power plant restaurant uniquely sits on the Guadalupe river and still holds some of the original mechanics for the plant. There is a cute little dining area out over the water 💦 with a gorgeous waterfall below. The food was excellent. I’m had the meatloaf with coleslaw and poblano creamed corn and stuffed jalepeno poppers as an appetizer. It was all very good. I would recommend trying this place out!

Google
Great food, best onion rings ever! Fresh food, prepared in kitchens by real people who come in early to make it-- no pre-made stuff here! Our server, Brayan, made sure everything was perfect from drinks to food. Historic place that was an old power plant with generators and power panels that add to a fun experience. But the food reigns supreme. Worth the drive from Canyon Lake. Happy hour Mon-Fri 3-6 pm.

Google
My wife and I had a great experience at Power Plant Texas Bar & Grill. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating they even cut and plated our chicken fried steak into two portions when we mentioned we were sharing. That level of service really stood out. The views of the Guadalupe River while dining were beautiful, and it was a treat to experience a piece of Seguin history in such a unique setting. The food? Texas-sized for sure. Appetizers could easily feed four, and everything we tried was full of flavor. If you’re in or around Seguin, this spot is a must visit. Great food, generous portions, amazing service, and unbeatable views.

Google
We we arrived at the restaurant very close to closing time. The service was very friendly and they prepared our dinner. The food was very nicely presented however, a little bit pricey, especially kids plates, but what impress me was the place. actually, the building in which it is housed it reminded me of a museum and it felt like a historic place. It is an original electric plant. The surrounding area is area attractive because of the river. I recommend that you check this place out.

Google
This place is awsome. The chicken fried steak was great, I had gravy, my wife had the queso-pico sauce. The poblano creamed corn was delicious, the smashed potatoes and gravy were great. The green beans, and rice were average. All in all, a great meal with all the attention to detail put in the steaks. We definitely will come back. The price was equal to the quality of the food. Good food ain't cheap, and cheap food ain't good. On another note, this place was a real power plant at one time, and the generator sets right in the dining room. The electric panels as well. It was an interesting place with lots to see.

Google
Found this cool little place by accident... Atmosphere is nice, really fun decorations and history surrounding the building and location. Comfortable and casual seating both indoors and on patio. The food was OK but nothing special. We went for lunch on a workday, so kind of quiet. Looks like stage and live music with space for dancing. I bet this place is hoppin' on the weekends!

Yelp
The food was great, service was phenomenal. Would definitely make the drive again from SA.

Super cool atmosphere and excellent food. Great service as well. Everyone was pleased with their food.

Yelp
I recently visited Seguin Power Plant and I was super impressed with the venue itself. As a restored and converted hydroelectric plant, they've done an amazing job of preserving the historical significance of the building. The industrial, factory feel has been beautifully incorporated into the restaurant's design, and it really pays homage to its past. Plus, with its view overlooking the river, the location is hard to beat -- perfect for a relaxing evening out! That said, I do recommend being prepared for parking. There isn't a ton of parking right in front, so if you're coming on a busier night, you might have to park in the overflow lot. It's a short walk back to the restaurant and the lighting is a bit limited. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Now, onto the food. I ordered the fried chicken sliders, and they were... decent. Not mind-blowing, but good. The honey chipotle sauce was a bit sweeter than I would've liked, but dipping them in ranch helped balance it out. Overall, a solid choice, but nothing I'd rush back for. In the end, Seguin Power Plant is definitely worth checking out for the unique atmosphere, great views, and history. It's a cool spot to visit if you're in the area!

Yelp
Solid food offerings with an unbeatable view make this a good destination in Seguin. The view off the terrace is something to behold. Beyond that the food is your standard Southern comfort fare. Well prepared and tasty with some hits and misses. The key is to stick to the standards. The chicken wings were delicious as was the BLT. The jalapeno poppers were so-so. Flavor was mild but the interior ingredients were mushy which made the overall taste average at best. Service was good and friendly.

Cindy K.

Yelp
The onion rings were amazing, the view is beautiful and it's a fun place to eat. I had the Cobb salad which was good. It needed more bacon and the blue cheese dressing was runny but overall a great salad. My friend had the burger and enjoyed it.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great. The landscape is breathtaking. The service was good. The food was okay.

Yelp
We stopped by for a quick night and enjoyed the happy hour bites and drinks. The hand battered onion rings were amazing. As well as the poppers and wings. When in Seguin, come and enjoy this historic location, views and river!

Yelp
This place was the best part of my trip to Seguin, TX. Wow, during fall with a nice breeze, this place makes the perfect spot for dinner or brunch! What a cool and unique spot with amazing staff, interior, and exterior. A family with a dog sat next to us and the staff placed a water bowl for the dog & refilled a couple times.

Yelp
What a complete disappointment. This former power plant boasts such amazing scenery with a natural water feature and I just wish the owners would use that more to their benefit. What an amazing attraction this could be not just for locals or folks passing through. It could be a true destination spot. The food tasted like it came directly from the food supply vendor without much thought put into it. Why not cook and add great flavors? Why not have themed meals or drinks to play off the beautiful and natural surroundings? I had a strawberry margarita that tasted like warm Kool-Aid with a couple ice cubes tossed in. The queso tasted like it was poured straight from an industrial sized can. Our server was a young and sweet kid; I can't help but think how much more he could get in tips with a revamp that would bring more guests. The decor is lacking as well; really need to play up that whole power plant vibe.

Yelp
I grew up in Seguin and visit regularly. This wasn't my first visit to The Power Plant but it has been a few years since I was last here. The food is good and the waitstaff were very friendly! I'm currently working with the event coordinator, Veronica, to plan a party here later in the year. The real attraction of The Power Plant is the scenic, historic setting. It is beautiful! I love that this special place is right in the heart of my hometown. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
We had fun here on a Sunday afternoon. We ate on the patio & the view was nice. The building is historic & pretty cool & right on a park (I was a little disappointed that the soil was so compacted in the park, stressing the trees & that a really nice bald cypress is struggling with an infestation of grapevine that is blocking photosynthesis). The food was pretty good. I really wanted a veggie burger with fries, but they didn't have a veggie burger. I had the mahi mahi instead. It's wasn't the best mahi I ever had, but it was good. The rice & veggies were good sides. The bathrooms were clean. There was no wait at 2pm. It's definitely worth a stop & we would come back if we were in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Beautiful views! If you are able sit at the outside tables. The waitstaff was super nice here and paid attention to the food allergies in our party. The Brussels sprouts and stuffed brisket peppers were amazing. The buffalo chicken sandwich was messy, spicy, and tasty. The cole slaw had a good flavor, but was very wet.

Sam S.

Yelp
Great ambience. Lots of energy with staff looking and happy. Good home style food. Place is huge. Many rooms. Patio was perfect with this 78 degree weather. Will be back.

Yelp
This restaurant has a fantastic setting and I suspect it would be a fun place to listen to some music. As the name implies, it's located in an old power plant overhanging the river. A+ on the location. Service was okay! Pretty prompt and friendly enough. No real complaints. The food was just okay. The salmon was overcooked and a bit bland. I suspect I would have been better off trying the burger. Maybe I will on the next visit.

Yelp
Great find on a road trip! Found this spot on yelp as we were driving home and am very happy we went off the beaten path. The location was super cool (next time we will come during the day so we can see the water) and the food was delish. My kids had the mini corn dogs and catfish- but their favorite was the chips and queso (mom and dad approved too). We had the crispy Brussels to start and that balsamic sauce they are soaked in was KILLER good. We were imagining all the ways we could cook with it! I had the shrimp rissotto which was very good (white wine cream sauce ) and my husband had the burger and house made chips (he said his was very good). Would definitely come here again (and the kids agree). FYI- check the website for the more up to date menu- there was more on there than what yelp showed.

Yelp
My friend and I were looking forward to coming and eating here, the host was nice and sat us quickly but the server (some guy with glasses) put our order in and that was about it. Only gave my friend a second beer and never checked on us, I had to go to the bar to get my soda refilled because he was nowhere to be found. When we did see him he was huddled with the other servers by the bar talking and hanging out. The food was good but the service was very lackluster and disappointing, we've both worked in the restaurant and service industry and know this is not how you do things.

Yelp
We went a few weeks ago and our server and food were really good. It has under 4 and that will normally deter me from going to a restaurant. I'm happy I went. I don't understand the bad reviews. The onion rings had great flavor, and the homemade ranch and chipotle ranch was the bomb! My only complaint would be that the onion rings are way too big for my liking. So overall it was great and I'm happy to see water in the river!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a must for great food and views. Tucked in Seguin, this old power plant has the best views of the Guadalupe river. We sat in a back area featuring windows all around and a bunch of the old machinery in the space. So unique and fun for groups. The food was very good, the star of the show was definitely the risotto. Super creamy and flavorful, with large shrimp. The steak of the day was cooked perfectly and the sides were very delicious. I love the combination of the home style cooking and the unique venue. When you're all done don't forget to take some beautiful pictures by the water. Will definitely be back to celebrate again with family!
google avatar

Armanius M.

Yelp
A lovely place to have a meal. Very unique place as it's built inside an old hydroelectric power generation station. The views are amazing and very un-Texas like! Food isn't bad either. We had a burger, a New York strip and a grilled Mahi-Mahi. The burger was excellent, and the steak and fish were average. Our waitress was excellent and was right on top with the service. Recommended and we will return one day if we are nearby.

Yelp
Super cool building, with an amazing view and such a fun piece of Seguin history. Do yourself a favor and just go for Appetizers. I wish they had a Small/Large option on all apps instead of just dips because the portions are HUGE. Thursdays 6-8PM is Karaoke night so that was a bit of fun. However the staff was slow and inattentive. We got our food before silverware, had to ask for napkins, and water refills, I would understand if it was a busy night - but there wasn't many so I didn't really understand the service. The Fried mushrooms were fresh and delicious, however the ranch dip was super runny and unseasoned like it had been watered down. Chips & Queso - super yummy no complaints. Fried Catfish platter - fish's better was too thick, fries were good, hushpuppies weren't fully finished on the inside, tarter sauce was good. Chicken Fried steak - Broccoli was not fresh, potatoes were a bit gummy but seasoned well, steak itself was well flavored but needed more rest time on a rack or paper towel since it fell apart, needed more crisp! I really want to love this place so we'll try again in a couple weeks and update our review!

Yelp
What is this place suppose to be; bar, restaurant, hangout, need den? Yes!! Location is the old power plant and has been mostly gutted/remodeled, but the original walls, ceiling and a few turn-of-the-center machines are in-place. Very cool atmosphere. The additional of Star Wars and other various geek/Americana/man cave decor keeps it fun. Summer is a bummer for the outdoor seating areas, due to heat, but the views and sounds of the water rushing by and a neat trade-off. Food is solid, nothing unique but my wife and I enjoyed it. Staff is pleasant. Wait can be +45mins on the weekend.
google avatar

Phyllis P.

Yelp
Excellent service & food. Enjoyed the beautiful view of the river from the exterior deck. Great drinks.

Yelp
I highly recommend a visit to this historic destination. It's such a beautiful location and so many cool things to see inside. Very family friendly and great food made to order at a reasonable price.
google avatar

Yelp
Always great food and service. I love the onion rings and mushrooms. The risotto with shrimp is also incredible
google avatar

Yelp
A bit off the I 10 corridor, the food was worth the diverted route. Freshly made offerings that were filling and delicious. Hubby had the meatloaf plate and I had the bison burger (minus the bun). The crispiness of the homemade chips were a wonderful side to the juiciest burger I have eaten in a while. The big engines and turbine were a great additional attraction for my mechanical engineer newly retired hubby. Service was attentive. If it hadn't been so warm when we were there, I would have loved to set on the screened patio and listened to the water flow throughout our meal. Just a not to go back this fall when weather is more accommodating.
google avatar

Yelp
stopped in on Sunday afternoon for quick bite on my drive back to San Antonio from Galveston. decided on the cheeseburger meal. the burger was simply fantastic with that fresh off the charcoal grill taste....and service is always friendly. FYI can get loud with large tables.
google avatar

Yelp
Walked in and was seated right away. Sat for 10 minutes and nobody acknowledged us so we walked out.
google avatar

Barbra M.

Yelp
This restaurant has a unique location in an old power plant building. The atmosphere is nice, with a large covered outdoor seating area and a nice river view. We had a group of 17 people, and the service was good for such a large group (though we did have to ask for tea refills). Some of the favorite dishes ordered by the group were pecan crusted chicken, salmon with mango salsa, stuffed mushrooms and salads. The house-made chips were also a hit. Those of us who ordered meatloaf did not feel it lived up to the server's recommendation - we agreed we would go with something else on our next trip.
google avatar

Samantha O.

Yelp
First of all, the building is gorgeous and the outside view is just as stunning. It was pretty busy, but we only had a 10 minute wait. Decided to meet up with my parents here for Sunday lunch! We were all having FOMO every time a server holding appetizers walked by and we decided next time we stop by, we're just going to get a ton of apps to share! I got the pecan crusted chicken with green beans and mixed veggies. Absolutely delicious, the chicken was cooked perfectly and super moist. I could eat it multiple times a week and be content. Green beans were good, mixed veggies were just meh. My mom got the risotto and was blown away, perfectly creamy and cheesy- it almost tasted like a fancy Mac and cheese in the best way possible. Dad had the Cajun pasta and loved it as well, only wishing it was a bit spicier. (Keep in mind he has basically burned his tastebuds off at this point with his love of hot sauce- so take that with a grain of salt) Overall awesome experience and we can't wait to go back and try more! ( especially the apps.) Oh and if the weather is nice, sit outside! Tons of fans and it's not too hot with a lovely view.

Yelp
The Power Plant: Potential Customets, staff and Owner, Overall I like this place hence the rating :0) The food was good. The regular burger was good. I asked for medium well, it came out black very well done. Others in my group had Spaghetti. Meh Chicken fried chicken with queso - Wow The server was nice :0) The Service to get food out was not as expected. Arrived during day, 1 hour after it opened, the food had to be made to order bc it took Greater Than 45 minutes to get our food (dont come, hungry and eat an appetizer to help). The ambiance was wonderful, with nice fall weather and background was great. I know it sort of outdoorsy in some areas... There was even dust and cobwebs in the corners not to mention a palmetto bug on his back waving at you aah remains of Halloween... The payment was reasonable. Using Cash vs. Card is not explained just asked. $2 - $3 difference is not a lot, however the perception maybe is. Did you know using credit instead of cash usually increases sales around 33% more using credit cards? I know the TV personality that stopped by this establishment, nice picture. I would go back. I'm not a restaurantour, however, I'm a consumer. I want you to do better than ever and shared my review with you all. Happy Eating and Best Dishes to you!

Yelp
We've been waiting to come visit after seeing this place on The DayTripper and We are so glad we did! We day trip anyway and it was a great drive. A wonderful place to have a meal in a scenic location. The kids and "adults" loved looking at the turbine, generator controls and other left over power plant decor. Plus the other things on the walls inside and on the patio. If it is pleasant, definitely snag a table on the patio. The food was tasty, we had the meatloaf plate, the bison burger and 2 kids meals (chicken tenders and mini corn dogs). Let's just say only crumbs were left by all diners... Side note the ladies rest room was clean and nicely decorated, I would stop in again. Overall a great adventure for a lunch date, family meal, taking a turn at the mic on karaoke night or some drinks at the bar. We will definitely stop in aga

Jessica Lyn A.

Yelp
The views were great! We were seated in the outside building facing the water with old machinery. Plentiful parking. Food was ok. Menu is very limited! Fried mushrooms were huge, however the brussel sprouts could have been cooked longer. I ordered the salmon and it was ok, mixed veggies were bland. Nothing amazing. Chicken fried steak was large, mac and cheese was tasty, poblano corn - people were not a fan. In addition, one of the people in our party found a fairly large piece of plastic in their mashed potatoes. We were the first party of the day too. Upon checking out, the waitress put the wrong items on the check resulting in mixed split checks. Service was subpar. Wouldn't recommend unless you enjoy good views and mid food.
google avatar

Deborah W.

Yelp
Slow service. Food was less than ideal. Soggy leftover coleslaw. Stale fries. Hard crust fish with soggy inside. Windows dirty. Very loud.

Landry T.

Yelp
I'm only giving this place a one star due to the cool scenery of the river. The service was sub par by the servers not knowing their own short menu. Out of the three dishes we ordered 2 of them were cold. Lastly, the upkeep and cleanliness of almost any surface area was below standard for any restaurant. Yeah, she doesn't know how to control her bodyweight
google avatar

Marie C.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night, it was fairly busy, and they had live music. The server was really friendly. Ordered the burger with bacon and jalapeños, it was delicious. It had really good consistency/firmness and seasoning. They also had a really good cocktail menu, I tried the watermelon, basil, martini, as someone who is obsessed with martinis - I loved it. The design and finish out of the building is very pretty as well. Would definitely visit again!
google avatar

Donnie C.

Yelp
The atmosphere in this restaurant is ELECTRIC! Service & food are on point too! I made a 630pm reservation for 7. I saw they have Karaoke & live music nights. Lots of preserved history at this restaurant!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
The location is awesome! The quirky decor on the inside makes it a fun ambiance to come to for an afternoon lunch or a fun Friday night out. The service was great and the servers were nice and attentive to our table. The portions are big and the quality of food was good. The food was good but not the best I have ever had. I had the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries are tossed in cinnamon sugar which makes them very sweet (nothing wrong with it, just not something I am used to). If you want to take someone from out of town to a restaurant this is the place. I posted a picture on the bottom of the location and part of the menu. I will be returning because it is such a cool spot to come and visit and I would be interested in trying their happy hour for drinks.

Leena K.

Yelp
OH MY GOD! BEST STEAK EVER! Go here guys it is worth your while. The texture was there, the flavor was there, I'd give it a 10/10. Don't even get me started on the creamed corn. If heaven had a flavor, it would be the creamed corn. Also, the mashed potatoes were amazing. Props to the chef. The one who makes the steaks.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
The hubs and I split a lunch. We got a fried chicken sliders meal. Sorry for the sloppy photo. I forgot to take a pic before we dug in. Anyway, while there was plenty of food for us to split (3 sliders and we upgraded to onion rings) but we really had to search for taste in both the sliders and the O.R.'s. I kept salting it in an effort to, well, taste it. The sliders def had heat from the chipotle pepper. That was fine. We won't get this plate again. They had a glitch with their computer so we waited 20 minutes to get our bill. The server had a flat personality. He's maybe not in the right kinda job. The ambiance is fun. It's iffy that we'll go back to the Power Plant Texas Grill.

Rodolfo M.

Yelp
The food quality was unacceptable, being cold and severely lacking in flavor. Furthermore, the customer service was inadequate, with our waitress seemingly more engaged with her phone than attending to our needs. The river was a nice view but other that this place has fell off
google avatar

Irene T.

Yelp
Came here with Courtney and Caleb (& Saylor) for a wonderful dinner. They have bison burgers and a bunch of old engines and the view is amazing
google avatar

Stacey S.

Yelp
Had a short wait to be seated. Once seated service was quick and food was spot on. Great location in an old Power Plant. Will be back! Also great view in an old power station.
google avatar

Kirk D.

Yelp
What a cool restaurant! Great place to eat, comfortable and funky decor. Kept a lot of history in this building. Great menu, well prepared food. App of chips with wueso/quac/salsa very good. A bit pricy, but really enjoyed our visit. Says dog friendly and sometimes has live music too. Recommend!

Hayden H.

Yelp
Best Mexican Restaurant I've ever been to. I had the chicken sliders. Highly recommend. Shout out to Brayan C.
google avatar

Meagan H.

Yelp
My husband, myself, and our 2 sons ate here. The food wasn't good but the real dam engine and the view were great! Service was good. I had the brussel sprouts but they were covered in a bbq type sauce that took away any health benefits and left me burping that day and the next. My family had the mac n cheese, fries, and a burger. None of it was eaten more than a few bites as they didn't like it. The river/creek view is pretty. I'd recommend going here if you are wanting a view or to see the engine but if you want tasty food then I'd skip.
google avatar

Durahnda L.

Yelp
Was a very pleasant place to eat. Sat on the deck outside, listening to the rushing water from the dam. Ordered fried mushrooms, could have been a meal in itself. I had fried catfish, partner had bison burger. All meal were very good and well worth it. Thank you for great service as well. Definately coming back again.

Malia R.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a few years now and we driving nearby and had a chance to go. The patio was pretty empty and we got a great seat right by the river. Beautiful view and a gentleman playing the guitar and singing outside. Our only comment is my daughter ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich. She orders this item any time she sees this on a menu or Buffalo wings. The sauce was so incredibly hot it was inedible and we all tried it. I still believe it was coated in Habernero sauce and I know a local Texas brand is trendy right now. The waitress did check and they said it was a new supplier. She offered to replace it or take it off the check. We are not big on conflict, and in the end got neither. The chicken fried chicken was really good and the salad looked really fresh. Very peaceful and a great table. They need to check that suace recipe. I have done a lot of hot wing challenges that were not that spicy.

Bubba B.

Yelp
Amazing Mexican restaurant! Shoutout to Brayan C. best waiter fr. Food was amazing and so was the ambiance.
