"This Mediterranean-influenced, neighborhood restaurant delivers on staples in a rustic, date night-appropriate setting. Start out with a few tapas, like roasted garlic arancini and fried meatballs in yogurt, and then move onto one of the Press’s pastas or braised beef short rib." - Janelle Bitker

Super friendly and great with my baby. Meals were perfectly prepared. Butternut squash Soup to die for. Great drinks and draft beers.

Contemporary setting for a relaxed dining experience in the heart of midtown. The quality of the ingredients and final creation on your plate are well worth a trip. Try one of the artisan cocktails as well, maybe whilst sitting outside on the beautiful patio.

On Saturday, December 28, 2019, around 6:45pm, waiter Zeki V. dropped a steak knife with sauce onto my back. Zeki offered no apology and did not show any compassion for my wellbeing. In fact, he picked up the knife and pretended he never dropped it on me. Zeki was very unprofessional in this manner. Upon returning home, I discovered a huge stain on my shirt. I am asking for compensation for the cleaning bill. In addition, my mother and I both ordered salads, and the menu quoted the price as being $11/salad. We were charged $12/salad. (I would have let this go had Zeki been professional.) When I brought the price discrepancy to Zeki’s attention, he told us there was a menu price change that was never added to the menu. Since he dropped the knife on my back and was very unapologetic, I persisted the price of the salads should be rectified. He spoke with a manager, but returned with only one of the dollars being removed from one of the salads, so I am still owed a dollar (and taxes). I understand this is very close to the end of The Press Bistro’s operation. However, my mother and I have been wanting to attend The Press to enjoy what our fellow locals were recommending. It is a shame that our first (and sadly last) experience at The Press will be a memorable one for all the wrong reasons. However, I do not feel it was proper for Zeki to treat me in such a terrible manner. I know dropping the knife was a mistake, but there is no excuse for pretending it never happened, let alone letting me walk out of the restaurant with such a huge stain without any sort of apology or compensation, etcetera. Not to mention, I may have been seriously injured by the knife! In addition, Zeki overcharging me for the salads, and not having any sort of remorse for his actions is disheartening. On the restaurant copy of the receipt, I briefly jotted down my grievances with Zeki’s service. Attached to this statement are copies of the menu, receipt, and my stained shirt. If I did not have sharp objects dropped on my back, and then offered no apology or welfare check, I would have taken this situation much more lightly. However, I am seeking a refund on my expenses at the restaurant, and/or at the very least, being properly refunded for my salad and my shirt cleaning (or replacement) bill be paid.

One of the more happening places in Sacramento with very good food and a great selection of wines. Desserts was so so, but there is plenty of other options around.

We had an amazing dinner. Staff was super friendly and patient even when we were the only table with kids (thank you!). Every dish we ordered was just great. I would recommend the corn soup, stuffed peppers and vegan plate (not on the menu). Peach dessert was also really good (pastry and ice cream). We'll be back!

Four of us dined at Press Bistro on Valentine's evening. There was a set menu which we usually try to avoid. It was a delightful surprise to experience such a good meal. The appetizers, the lobster stuffed ravioli, the steak (incredibly tender), and a delicious dessert. And an excellent house wine. Server was friendly and efficient. Tables are spaced with enough distance from diners so that we could hear one another and enjoy the atmosphere. A really wonderful evening. Last night (July 31) we again had an exceptional five-course meal at Press Bistro. We recently returned from New York City, and I can say that Press Bistro exceeded our experiences in New York. The servers were attentive and gracious and the food ever so good. The owner visited our table several times. Even the coffee was superior to any I've had in a restaurant.

Great restaurant, great ambiance and great service right on the edge of midtown. Their menu changes based on what's locally grown and available and the chefs pick up produce at the farmers market. We had the shrimp, fried goat cheese orange and pistachio salad, halibut with truffle butter all fabulous, the chicken was over cooked, our friends got the lamb and the short ribs. Both said they were phenomenal.
