The Prince George Norwich Meadows Farm CSA

In July I went there to a beach party settings along with acquaintances it was my first time and I enjoyed myself.

omg I was staying here sometime in 1985 I was about 20/21 it was me and my 2 lil sons ..it was scary for me at 1st ..this place is huge and it was so nice and quiet when we stayed here..my room was 542 a nice small room with a nice bathroom and a spacious closet ..I can't even write enough to tell how this turned out to be one of the best Elegant places I've ever lived ..I will Never forget Prince George Hotel..I had so much fun there.. from having maid service to eating at the diner in the Latham hotel 1st FL..and the restaurant on the corner of 28th and Madison ave..sitting in Madison Square park when Caucassion people wasn't afraid of a Black person🤗 ..my kids were ages 3 and 7 well behaved and decent we had lunch in the park it was so beautiful and quiet the whole 1st year but that next year ..some wild unruly people came to stay at Prince George..and that's when it became terrible and the peace was gone ..but I stayed out if trouble I had just a few friends but I mostly stayed to myself .. my kids went to a nice school and not the ghetto one they sent most of the kids to ..( the Bleeker st area school.. 🤔 anyway I love this place and I wish I could own it someday .. Thank you Prince George Hotel.. you are and were Amazing to me and my lil ones..❤❤❤❤.. I'm in tears 😢 but Thank you all so much for those who worked there in those years.. I was there from about 85-88.. I was always treated with respect and that's how I carried myself ..with Respect.. I'm sure some won't understand why I was happy even in a shelter 🙏🌹❤❤❤❤❤❤

Looking at old photos. Blast from the past. Stayed here in 1979, our last night in US after a 6 week trek across America. I remember it as a beautiful building and lobby, but the room was a bit tat. Lol. Happy days.

This Building is Beautifully Preserved and Restored.. The Lobby and Front Desk are Breathtaking.... Despite a few very Strict and Silly safety rules I bet this would be a great place to call home....

Visited this beautiful building as a volunteer to help serving food at the opening of an art show by residents. Everything was well organized by the staff and the art work impressive.

The spinach pasta they distributed at the winter Farmer s Market this past year was exquisite. You could actually "Taste" Everything : it was So fresh!!!

Nice to see this place with a face lift,HOWEVER the worst of my life happened to me in this place back in the 1980s when it was a homeless shelter.it was nasty as hell I was only a young girl stuck living in a small rm with no bathroom with 2 small girls.There was no Security they was mostly the dealers back then.i was hoping something good would have happened for someone there, being that it's all historical and carrying on.The conditions was so nasty the bathrooms was in the hallway for some rooms.i was assaulted 4 times at this place I was only 18 .now they cleaned up the place.lol it should have been a story when they was paying almost 2,000 dollars a month for us to stay in those kind of conditions.NOW it is low income housing...smdh

I can't say enough about supporting CSA's, and in particular, the Prince George/Norwich Meadow CSA. Why? CSA's give farmers capital to plant in the advance, grow and be self-sufficient. CSA members get fruits and vegetables straight from the source, and at a superb value. I find that I am getting staples that are more nutritionally sounds and support local growers. Rachel and her staff are exceptional. They are well-organized and kind. I look forward to spring every year - in no small part due to the CSA.

I've lived in New York for about 10 years and have been a part of many CSAs. Prince George is no doubt the best one I have ever been a part of! The location is easy to get to and the produce is always abundant and delicious. Rachel, who runs the csa is a total sweetheart and does a fantastic job running the show!

Poorly managed, and the produce selection is limited. The staff are unprofessional - feels like running this CSA is entirely an afterthought. Constant emails with wrong attachments, forget to use BCC for distributions, send emails asking for volunteer help a few hours before it's needed (didn't they know no one was signed up for that day earlier)? Worst was being told to call after we email them to make sure they saw our email - why bother? Lacks cheerfulness, has a gloomy feel to it. Will not be going back.

I feel so lucky I came across the CSA at the PG! It's been a great way to get seasonal veggies, while at the same time supporting local farms and their produce. The staff at the PG is super friendly, and it's just delightful being a part of this small, but growing, NYC community!

Solid, solid, solid. If you live or work in the area, SIGN UP! Great, great high quality produce.

I don't know what Sean E. is talking about. I signed up for the winter CSA in 2010 same as he did, and we had one late pick-up (due to one of the blizzards we had) and one that had to be picked up at the farmer's market due to a building conflict. But we got all our pickups the way we were supposed to, and although two late distributions isn't great, I don't think it's reasonable to blame them for a huge blizzard and snow that never got plowed.
