The Priory Bar & Kitchen

Me and my new Husband had our wedding reception at the Priory. The staff was extremely accommodating. A women from the restaurant Isis made us special dishes for the party that were absolutely delicious! The bartender was extremely accommodating to our guest and wonderfully polite. The private party room was a great space and perfect for a small upbeat party. I can’t thank the Priory more for such a wonderful and mistake free day!

As of writing this review, this place is brand new and still tweaking a lot of things, however our food was absolutely delicious. The veggies and meat were very fresh as well. I had the bangers & mash, and my wife had the pot roast. I really hope that this place makes it in the long run, it's great having friendly staff and good food so close to home.

We went 7ish on a Friday evening, there were 2 other customers. No atmosphere and it appeared they were saving money by turning down the heat, difficult to relax. The beers were great, service attentive, probably over so. We had the charcuterie, very poor quality. Nothing like the photo on this site. The bangers and mash were small portions, sausages were pretty tasteless and the onion gravy had no flavor and seemed to have been heated in a microwave. All in all , very disappointing, and nothing like the few good reviews(only 12 of them) for this recently opened restaurant.

being an English ex-pat I felt hopeful going in, but I hate to say it, the whole place is not well run, unprofessional and amateurish, food inconsistent, bar and kitchen not fully stocked. started with the shepherds pie pasties, not sure why they are called this, not related in anyway, just shredded beef in a pastry shell, bland and boring, did not resemble a english pasty at all. Charcuterie plate was a decent size, but only Jewel quality. Scotch egg was decent Rarebit Mac and cheese was good Main courses, Fish and chips, 2 pieces of uncrispy battered fish, and frozen fries. chicken stew, average Filet steak was ordered medium but came well done, had to be returned, and came back perfectly cooked, all sides were bland and under seasoned. we wanted to order the bangers and mash, the waitress didn't mention until we ordered that they were out of bangers, one of the 4 main dishes not available?? the server was attentive and cheerful, she tried hard. Decor is too bright, more like an afternoon tea room, is that the plan? the place may work as a neighbourhood bar, with light food served, but as a restaurant serving $28 entrees, it will not stay open long, owners please read your reviews and listen to the neighbours, they want you to succeed.

My husband and I both had the Welsh Rarebit, Bangors and Mash and Shepherds Pie Pasties. Everything was delicious!!! We will visit again, we are very excited about their brunch!

Staff was amazing. House smoked salmon was dope (if a bit hard to eat). Great option for some elevated, English pub inspired, fare.

Found this while visiting Chicago. Cozy neighborhood pub. The food was delicious and the beers hit the spot. The staff was very kind and helpful. I envy the locals who have the Priory in their neighborhood. 👌🏼

Cozy spot. Super friendly staff. Delightful scotch egg. Best fish and chips I have had in the city, light and fluffy.
