Orlando’s Best Happy Hours | Eater

"Delivering the time-honored English pub promise of pints, chips, and soccer matches on TV — albeit in Orlando theme park style — the Pub Orlando also has a sunny patio trimmed with green tinsel. The London Calling happy hour menu features 14-ounce schooners of beer for $3.25 or “an old one and a cold one” for $5. In addition to well drinks for $4, a couple name-brand vodkas are also on special. The bar bites menu offers beer cheese and pretzels, dirty fries, wings, and a bacon BBQ banger for $5." - Vox Creative

This pub truly is a treasure in Orlando. The menu is eclectic and fairly priced. We came for dinner and each had the fish and chips and soup! Everything was fresh, fabulous and generous portions. Although we don't drink, we could see the focus on English beer. The workmanship inside the bar is so true to minor detail with their wood carved bars. The service staff was polite and efficient. I cannot express one negative regarding this eatery! I live in FL and can say that although it's location at The Pointe is touristy, this restaurant is far from being a non repeat tourist eatery. We will be back! Two weeks later, and we did go back. Service, atmosphere and food were "on point," just like our first visit. Great to have consistency!

Google
This place is fantastic!!! We have come back many times while we have been here! The food has been phenomenal, the staff are among the friendliest we have ever had! Our top servers that made the most of our experience were Makayla, Kylie, and Audrey. Our bartenders Evee and Bella were awesome! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Ate here for the first time, was always interested in British food. We started with the Reuben Spring rolls which were nice and crispy, a little salty and overall amazing. We also tried the Scotch egg which was our first time and they were super tasty and different. I love trying new foods so this was a treat, I then went with the fish and chips, which according to them was voted the best, I must agree it was quite amazing, the slaw, the tartar, the fries, everything was great, my fiancé got the sliders and she loved them as well. All in all this place was great and I highly recommend giving it a try.

Google
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was just as amazing! Jacob was our server and he was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. What really stood out was how the food looked exactly like the pictures on the menu, the brochure, and all their advertisements. That never happens, but here—it did! I’m usually not into seafood at all, but even the fish looked so tempting I almost reconsidered. If you’re anywhere near one of their locations, definitely make a stop—you won’t regret it! I ordered the shepherd’s pie, and let me tell you… when I make it at home, it’s a 6-inch-deep pan of pure commitment. So my standards are high—and they nailed it. Comforting, flavorful, and totally worth every bite.

Google
Some dishes are great, others are medicare and some are bad +....our soups were great, the fish and chips were good, the shepherd pie was not eatable...the burger was my mediocre. Deserts were extra sweet....Great IPA beers.

Google
In my limited experience of pubs (living in Shropshire, London and Aberdeen 40+ years ag) The Pub captures the essence of a British pub and then scales it to gargantuan. They also serve a presentable haddock and chips that is good for the US (maybe even the best in the US) but to be comparable with British fish and chips it should be COD and chips. Be that as it may, I enjoyed my lunch at The Pub. Service from Clair was exceptional, the fish and chips were good and The Old Speckled Hen beer was delicious. My one complaint is that the background music was a little too loud and foreground.

Brianna McKay

Google
Atmospheric interior with a historic flair. Delicious fish and chips and fried chicken! Attentive and wonderful service from Jovan. A must try while in Orlando.

Google
The Pub is themed like an English pub, and it really works. We shared a delicious Scotch egg, and the fish and chips is likely the best battered fish I've ever tried. The staff is so friendly and appreciate patrons because it's on the International Drive strip which is mostly conference goers.

Yelp
Nice place to hang out with friends. Fish and chips and fish nuggets are a must try. Our waitress is attentive and friendly. She knows when my friends and need refills on our beers. Worth visiting when you're in town.

Yelp
We came back to The Pub during a lunch break from our conference at the Rosen, right across the street. It was a busy lunch rush and a lot of us came pouring in at once... but our group of five got seated right away. We placed our drink and food orders quickly without any trouble. Most of the group ordered appetizers, while a couple went for the fish and chips. I ordered the Pub Poutine and sausage rolls. I also got a Belhaven Scottish Ale... had to raise a glass in memory of a Brother who used to share one with us during times like this. The food and drinks came out in good time, even with the huge crowds. Dominic, who seems to be our server every time we come here, was once again outstanding. He really is the best... friendly, efficient, and somehow always on top of everything. He kept us happy, kept things moving, and helped us finish up on time without ever feeling rushed. There was a mix-up in the kitchen with my order. Dominic let me know right away... the bad news was that they brought me the Pub spring rolls instead of the sausage rolls. The good news was I got to enjoy the spring rolls while they rushed out the sausage rolls. Dominic handled it perfectly... kept the mood light and made sure I didn't feel shorted. The poutine was exactly what I hoped for. I couldn't find it on the online menu, but it came with tender, pot roast... plus the classic squeaky cheese curds and fries underneath. The sausage rolls were the highlight though. Hearty and full of flavor! They came out piping hot and crispy, with a spicy sauce that matched them perfectly. And those surprise Pub spring rolls? A nice extra. Savory and packed with chicken, cheese, and jalapeños... definitely a fun, flavorful bite. Once again, Dominic made the visit a great one. Thanks to him, we always feel like regulars even during the chaos of conference week. We'll be back... and I hope he's our server again next time.

Yelp
When they have the best fish and chips, you buy fish. And it was delicious! I originally came here because I compared burger prices close by and this was on the cheaper side and had good reviews. At the bar and the bartender was very friendly, taking out order and chatting with us throughout the night. I wasn't a fan of the fried pickles. I don't know if it was the type of pickle they used or the breading or the water. But it had a weird taste to it.

Yelp
We stopped in after playing at Activate and were able to be seated right away. It was right at the end of their happy hour, and we were able to squeeze in some of the apps and drinks on the menu before it ended. They had lots of different decor on the walls, TVs for shows and sports, and it was clean inside. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had some beers and all shared some appetizers. We really liked the Scotch eggs, fried pickets and goat cheese dip. They were the first to disappear. The pretzel and beer cheese dip was also really good and the buffalo chicken dip. We were able to fill up on the different appetizers and really enjoyed the items. We were starving so the was not any pictures take before half the dishes were gone.

Yelp
I was in Orlando for a week with work and the hotel was walking distance from The Point. This was the first restaurant I chose to try and it was so good, I went back two more times...and I bought a t-shirt! The staff was great, especially Andrew. I ended up trying a lot of different food, but the best thing I tried was the goat cheese appetizer with the bacon jam topping. FABULOUS! The Scottish eggs were also delicious. The fish and chips were also very tasty and the sweet potato fries are just as good as the regular ones.

Yelp
We dropped in for dinner before meeting our friends in the area. It took some time for the server to acknowledge us, service was ok. We had a scotch egg to start - it was tasty. The fish and chips are supposed to be the best in Orlando and I do not agree. The fish was haddock - and was cooked well with a thinner batter. The chips were ok, not traditional British chips. The fish and chips at Raglan Road / Cookes of Dublin at better. Beef stew was tasty. Drinks were good.

Yelp
This place was okay...the smoked operation was actually the worse I ever had and rated burnt. The food was average at best, the service was above average and nice. This is defiantly a spot for people that don't know better to visit but once you do if you want good food you would probably never go back. Not much more to say/ about this place.
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Food is fantastic! We had appetizers first time and app plus meals second time. The goat cheese dip is fantastic. I had fish and chips and it was awesome. Andrew was our server that definitely brought the energy. I have been twice in a week.

Yelp
I was staying across the street at the Rosen Plaza hotel for a conference and walked across the street for dinner. The atmosphere was so fun with the British decor. Our server was very friendly and attentive and offered great suggestions. The drinks was delicious, the entree was fantastic, and the cheesecake was yummy! It really checked all the boxes and hit the spot!

Yelp
From service to food everything was amazing! We ordered many different foods, including the Hot Ham and Swiss sandwich, the Welch, Fish Sandwich, A BBQ Burger, some chicken Caesar salads and steak fritters. Everything was very delicious, hot and served perfectly. Our waitress was on top of it, offering refills, seeing if we needed anything and checking on us. She had a great smile and treated our group of 10 wonderfully. It was a cute little area and I would come back to try other things on the menu!!

Yelp
The last time I was at The Pub was at the Cleveland airport and I used to get so excited to fly out of there because of it. So while recently visiting Orlando I was pretty excited to go here with my gf after discovering it on Yelp and have some fish and chips and some drinks. It's located at The Pointe which is an awesome area in general for a multitude of activities. I was impressed right off the bat with the overall exterior and interior of this location. It's as close to a real British pub as possible for being newer and a chain. We were greeted by the hostess and we chose to sit at a table in the patio area outside. It was during the solar eclipse so we got to see it while enjoying a beer and cocktail. The hostess and waitress were both lovely and were very attentive and the service was prompt. It was happy hour so we started off with two waters and I ordered a Harp draft beer and my gf ordered the Blue Hawaiian. Both were delicious! We ordered the Reuben Spring Rolls. I rarely if ever eat meat, but I had to have some of these to share and they were beyond the word tasty. We then proceeded to order The Best Fish & Chips in the U.S. to share and I don't know if they were the best I've ever had but they were definitely very good. The tartar sauce and coleslaw were both excellent! The whole ambiance of this place makes you feel like you're in a real British Pub and I love that this place exists. Thank you for the excellent food, drinks, service, and overall experience. We will definitely be back the next time we visit the area. Enjoy! :D

Yelp
So unfortunately I can't eat anything here. Which ultimately sucks; I came a year ago and the food was fantastic and now since the suppliers have changed I can't eat. I'm upset however I brought my dad here so he could enjoy himself and he is. I ordered a cucumber collins drink for $11. My cucumber collins is really good- we've been sitting for about 48 minutes and have no food. Finally got our food after I came back from the bathroom. Unfortunately I had fries on my plate and the fries are fried and the same as the fish and chips and the fish and chips have egg and Dairy in them. On top of that my dad found a black pubic hair in his salad. We will not be returning here. The ambience of the pub is a Irish pub place. So sad because this place was really good last year. 3/10

Yelp
Had a great dinner here! You definitely feel like you're in a London pub when you enter. The staff is friendly and helpful. I think you just have to know what to order and what not to order when you go to a restaurant. Anyone who has been to London knows some of the fare they are known for. We stuck to those items such as fish and chips, and we were very happy with our meal. The coleslaw was delicious and the Guinness pints were poured perfectly. They have a good selection of beers on draft, including many UK favorites. The only downside was that the kid drinks were all juices and sugary stuff. We would've loved to have the option to get milk. I think it would be cute if they added an option to have chocolate milk so that the adults can have a Irish stout (adult chocolate milk) and kids would have the option to have a matching kid friendly drink. Would definitely go back here again!

Yelp
I came here for a team dinner. There was 9 of us and luckily we got one of the tables that could seat all of us at once so we didn't get split up. Our waiter, Breanna, was great. She got us seated, our drinks, and didn't get annoyed when we kept calling her over for requests. The happy hour is pretty decent, but is only from 3 - 6 pm. For drinks, we sort of just got an assortment of drinks. For me I ordered some shots for my coworkers, and also a mixed drink that was on the happy hour menu. For appetizers, I got the haddock bites (happy hour special) and then from the entree I ordered the Shepherd's pie. - Haddock Bites - This was pretty much the fish from fish and chips. The fish was really good! I enjoyed it a lot, well fried and the fish itself was moist. - Shepherd's Pie - This was alright. I enjoyed it, but I felt like it wasn't super filled. Usually, I'm expecting like something super heavy, but this wasn't it. I felt like it was small in portion, but luckily with my order of the Haddock Bites, it was perfect.

Yelp
Thank you Bella! She made special drinks we requested. Super friendly! We will be back!

Yelp
Fantastic pub! Love that the taps look like the ones across the pond! Great import taps! Adam the bartender was attentive and it was overall a great experience. Would recommend and can't wait to visit again!

Yelp
The food was pretty good and the drinks were well-priced. It's a very touristy area, so I wasn't surprised (though disappointed) that they had someone coming around to take your photo and sell you a print... of your experience at a restaurant... The service was a bit on the slow side, but we didn't have anywhere to be, so I enjoyed sitting there for a while.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the royal couple which included a side salad and half a Reuben. The Reuben was fantastic and highly recommended. I wish I could have given a 5 star rating but they were trading a new bartender and our first drink delivery took over 15 minutes and they were not busy. The drink order was a glass of wine and a bottle of beer. At some point the decision needs to be made that the customers take precedent over training. Our server was rightfully embarrassed and apologized. I would still recommend.

Yelp
Even in the rain, we found time to stop at a really nice 'Pub" in Orlando. The spot was really nice.. Great selection of restaurants in the area and outdoor ambiance. Walking in, the place looks like the coolest Pub around! Had the feel of being in London and the service at our table was great! The Bar there also looks absolutely inviting and fun to hand around and grab a brew or my new found favorite, An Old Fashioned!!! We sat among friends, sharing a Pint and did not care about the outside world. Good convo and fun times!!!

Yelp
What a great fun place! And really good fish and chips! They had a singer/entertainment on Sunday night! So fun!!! Great customer service and cute decor ( I spied an old-school telephone booth and a throne!) . In a good up and coming area. Super fun. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town again! The coleslaw that came with the fish and chips was also amazing! Good beer choices.

Jack J.

Yelp
Surprisingly great food and drinks with better prices than nearby alternatives. My family of four with teenagers enjoyed our meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, happy hour was excellent with $7 specialty drinks & $7 shareable apps at the bar. Delicious raspberry mule and patron margarita. Enjoyed pastrami spring rolls.

Yelp
A fun UK themed restaurant in Pointe Orlando! When we went the place was all decorated for Halloween. But apart from the Halloween decor they have a ton of memorabilia like posters of British celebrities and musicians and it's really made to look like a British pub. We came during happy hour so we got some drinks and a bunch of appetizers. Everything tasted great. I also ordered the steak frites which was really tender, although a little less flavorful than I'd like. The service was good and the food came out relatively quick. Interestingly there was a photographer going around and taking pictures that they would then try to sell you. I guess tourists might be into buying a picture.. They do give you one small postcard for free. The photos could've been better though. All in all a great place for fun dinner with good food.
google avatar

Marie T.

Yelp
My coworker and I ventured inside because he was hungry and I needed a drink. It has a cool vibe but pretty loud. You have to wait to be seated. Service was pretty fast, except the food came out before the drinks. My coworker said the fish was decent but the fries weren't crispy. My drink was ok, nothing special. I can't see myself giving this place more than 2.5 stars.
google avatar

Janice K.

Yelp
another great meal at The Pub. we ended up here on a busy Friday night and waited about 30 minutes for a table. The bar was also crazy busy and it took forever to get some drinks. Luckily, they let you order two at a time, lol. All of our food was served hot and the waitress was great even though it was busy. I don't have a picture, but their scotch egg portion has gone down significantly.

Bill H.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Chef Thomas made the meal special by coming out and talking with my wife and I. The Fish and Chips dinner was the best Fish and Chips we have had and we have been to 49 states. I would recommend this restaurant and meal to all who visit Orlando. Great service and delicious meal.

Yelp
What a great place to have a drink and bite to eat! All the staff were so friendly as soon as I walked in. The whole pub is absolutely beautiful from the inside out and super clean. The manager Nick was especially kind and welcoming. You can tell everything is very well managed and organized and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this pub.

Yelp
Went today based on the reviews together with my friend. We got seated right away we decided to eat outside since it was a beautiful day. Our waiter was nice can't remember his name. I ordered the Reuben Spring rolls 10/10 delicious I could have eaten those for my main meal. They came to the table nice and hot, cheesy and flavorful! My friend and I ordered the fish and chips which apparently won awards. I didn't care for the fish at all it was ok. The fried part had flavor but the fish itself had no flavor. It was fried nicely but I only ate half and didn't take home the rest. The fries were decent has a nice seasoning on it. The coleslaw 2/10 did not like tastes a lot like onions. I added salt but still did not taste good to me. My friend said the fish was good, she ate all hers but I really didn't like it. She didn't like the coleslaw either. The drinks we had amaretto sours they were good, had 2! Overall if I were to go back I would only order the Reuben spring rolls and fries with drinks. Maybe next time I will try the shepherds pie but definitely not the fish!
google avatar

Sam P.

Yelp
As someone who grew up in England, I can say that it smelled authentic. The Reuben was good, the fish in the fish and chips was good, but the allegedly British chips were frozen generic ones. And the scotch egg was terrible, tiny, expensive and overcooked with sausage meat that tasted like American breakfast sausage rather than British sausage meat. The place was practically empty, and still the service was sub-par. Definitely won't be returning.
google avatar

James F.

Yelp
Really great British style food. Servers are kind and attentive. It's technically a pub but up-scale. Come with an appetite and get the fish and chips, they're apparently award-winning and it's easy to see why. Be warned it is a HUGE portion of fish. And all in one piece. Every part of the plate was awesome. The empanadas (I know, not British) are also very good. They're stuffed with British style ingredients such as pot roast beef and horse radish, give em a try.
google avatar

Yang C.

Yelp
Came here during lunch hours on Monday during a conference. When we arrived, there was nobody at all (we came early). Our waiter was great. The food turned out to be good as well. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was really tasty and I only finished half of that! Others in my group ordered the fish and chips, burger, etc. all turned out to be good.
google avatar

Jamey H.

Yelp
Great Irish themed pub with all the fixens. Sheppards Pie was amazing and the Pot Roast so tender. The Fish N Chips was stellar with the main one serving you an entire fish rather then the $18 version being 2 smaller pieces. Great servers and atmosphere, full of football games and excited people. Bathrooms were 1 of the best in Orlando.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here for a bite before heading back down south. Was greeted and sat right away by the host, but the table service was terribly slow (my friend and I weren't greeted by our server once we sat down for over 15 mins). This came as a shock considering the restaurant (& the entire plaza for that matter) was dead, even for a holiday. We decided to sit outside since when we arrived it wasn't too too hot, but this quickly turned into a bad decision. With the service being sloooww & the sun quickly moving - it become incredibly hot, incredibly fast. I don't recall seeing any large ceiling fans outside and there are absolutely no sunshades to roll down or anything to block the rays from beating down on you. Even if there were fans, they weren't doing enough for me to notice and had to pull out my own personal fan. The food was decent, but not worth the wait. The fried pickles, though, were amazing & I would return for those specifically. Served in full spears paired with a garlicky dipping sauce and deep fried to perfection. Unfortunately, the sliders were overdone (asked for medium). We ordered the pretzels and specifically asked for the cheese - came with no cheese - and then had to wait over 10 minutes again for the server to bring it to us. I did enjoy the mini fried fish bites (they certainly know how to perfectly deep fried their items without comprising what's inside) with the two dipping sauces, but again - not worth the wait.

Yelp
We went around 6:45pm on a Monday night. Fast service. Good food. Reasonable price. Attentive staff. I'd go again.
google avatar

Doreen V.

Yelp
Food was ok - average pub food. My fish, though, was cooked perfectly & served hot. The other orders for our party were not as lucky. Our server was friendly and attentive. Decor was a bit dingy but had some cool British vibe. Beer & drink selection was extensive & had a massive bar. So my recommendation is to go for some bar snacks & drinks.
google avatar

Ali L.

Yelp
Went to checkout this spot on a Saturday night because my boyfriend raved about how this is his favorite bar in the area and reminded him of London. There was a dj playing rap music which didn't match the vibe of the bar at all. The bar staff were rude and didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Took forever to get a drink when the place was empty because no one wanted to assist me. Will not be returning.
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick bit before watching a movie. Ordered the King's old fashioned and Scotch Eggs. The Scotch Eggs were good and the old fashioned was delicious and found go back again for the old fashioned.

Yelp
Great Experience and great food! Service was top notch and the ambiance was just like a real British pub only a lot bigger! We had the fish and chips and it really tied for 1st place as the best in America!
google avatar

Yelp
Loud ambiance. Slow service. And "the best fish and chips", not so much. We were there with a group of 5:

Yelp
We were in town for a conference. Staying close at the Hyatt Regency. We found this on Yelp and walked on down. Well we found a great Pub with great food and live music! The whole group left happy! Great menu of pub food and drinks. They claim the best fish and chips in the country! Not sure about that but it was damn good. I had to try it with that claim! We got apps of the beer cheese and scotch eggs. Both were really good. Many had not tried scotch eggs but everyone loved them. The service was good. Even with a large group of 8 or so. Live music was amazing! Great place that was fun with good food and drinks.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while attending a conference at the Orange County Convention Center. (Short walk). I sat at the bar because I always enjoy the attention and service. Not so much at this bar. Apparently the young lady bartender had a fascinating story to tell because I could get her or the gentleman BTs attention. This conversation was so good they moved around the bar and continued to talk! Finally I was able to order an old fashion and pickle spears appetizers. These were done up nice with the light batter and a maintained crunchy pickle. I got a side of water, thank goodness, because I was never asked if I wanted an additional drink. Had a full size fish and chips for lunch and it was a sizable portion of fish. Classic Irish pub meal with an average ranking. The bar was about 20% occupied but the restaurant itself was rather busy. The servers look very attentive and the food runners were kept busy delivering meals. Patience is a virtue when dining at the bar.

Akshat G.

Yelp
Food was decent. Service was horrible. Completely minimal service and then were berated by waiter even when we did tip. Apparently the tip wasn't enough. Continued complaining while walking by our table. Ambiance was nice.
google avatar

Connie N.

Yelp
I would not recommend this place. The bartenders were not friendly. Drinks were average . They will not hesitate to ask you to move after you've paid your bill for an event. There are plenty of better places to go in Orlando with amazing drinks and food. Save your money and time coming to the restaurant.
google avatar

Sally S.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Service was wonderful. Ambience is eclectically British. Worth experiencing as I've not ever had a light fish and chips as here. California can use this restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. Thank you, Orlando, FL. Wonderful experiences here.

Beatrice N.

Yelp
It was very crowded on a Friday night. Service was ok, but i think because they were very busy: not bad not good, ok. I went for the fish and chips rated as one if the best. I am a fan of this dish. Here was good but nothing exceptional. Great beer selection.
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Went back to The Pub a year later and had Dominick as our waiter and he was fantastic so if you're ever in town and want a good Irish restaurant this is the place to go. When you're there be sure to ask for Dominick he is great very attentive and just a great person. When we come back we will be sure to ask for him.

Yelp
Came in in a Sunday evening. They sat us right away. We parked in the parking, walked over. They do validate parking for the evening. We had a few beers, Spinach dip was tasty lots of cheese served with naan bread Their portion sizes are very large I took a kids size of fish and chip - deep fried, fished cooked well. We had the Gouda pasta as well.

Yelp
This place was great for our large group (~50 people). Servers were walking around consistently to take drink orders, fill food, and clean plates. They also offered a very full drink list and the "group" food options were fantastic. Our group enjoyed pretzels and pub cheese, crudites, wings, pasta, fish and chips, and pot roast with mash. The Pub took very good care of us!
