The Public House at The Alexander

Our waitress Hannah was very welcoming and she makes a KILLER old fashioned! I had the Crikey cocktail with carnitas tacos and my husband had the mountain burger with the old-fashioned. We're from Louisiana and this was a great little local find, exactly the kind of vibe we were looking for.

I was here as a photo booth vendor for a private party With Ray Of Hope Cancer Foundation and was absolutely blown away by the staff here! Katy, Hannah, Krista, Lily and Shay provided top notch customer service, teamwork among each other and a very high level of customer satisfaction! The venue is gorgeous, food/drink were amazing and service was fabulous. I work in almost 100 venues a year with my business and this is one of my favorite venues and staff so far! This place is a Gem and I highly refer The Public House at The Alexander for private parties and can't wait to come back for a regular visit and date night!

TL;DR: Incredibly slow service across the board—slow food, slow drinks, slow water refills, and slow check. Unfortunately, the food didn’t make up for the wait. We were seated at 6:08 PM and waited 45 minutes just to receive our appetizer (fried green tomatoes). Our main course—two burgers—arrived only 3 minutes after the appetizer, which felt poorly timed. Even more concerning, we watched an older couple who had been seated well before us still waiting for their single burger while we were already eating. Not a great experience overall. I've seen better from a food truck.

We came in tonight the waitress didn’t seem to want to serve us at all she barely came to the table and rushed us through ordering and didn’t ask about appetizers. One person had pulled pork sandwich it was burnt and the fries were cold and tasted old. My sandwich was burnt and overall the food was not worth the money and the service was one of the worst. It was disappointing to say the least.

Went here as a group and the general consensus was that everything was good, but not great. We ordered pub chips, garlic knots, and chips and queso for appetizers. (The garlic knots were the best thing we ate all evening.) For food we had the The Big Dill, the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap, the Pot Roast, The French Dip and one of the burgers. The chicken on The Big Dill and the Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap were decent, but the chicken was kind of tough. The French Dip sandwich was really good, but the dip was not like an au jus broth, it was a lot thicker like a gravy and kind of so-so. Overall, I would still eat here, but it might not be the first place on my list. If you are looking for a casual place to eat attached to both a brewery and distillery then this would be a great pick.

If you’re looking for incredible food in a welcoming atmosphere, The Public House at The Alexander is a must-visit. Their Mac & Cheese with Chorizo is an absolute game-changer—rich, creamy, and packed with just the right amount of smoky, spicy goodness from the chorizo. Every bite is pure comfort food bliss. And let’s talk about the Black & Blue Cheeseburger—cooked to absolute perfection, with a beautifully seasoned crust on the outside and juicy tenderness inside. The combination of bold blackened seasoning and creamy blue cheese creates a flavor explosion that burger lovers will appreciate. Great food, excellent service, and a cozy yet upscale vibe make this spot a standout. Ask for Christine! She is amazing. Highly recommend stopping by—you won’t be disappointed!

Okay so we stopped here for a quick bite to eat. They're location was really good and the view was great. It's really nice because it has an outside patio that overlooks mountains (there are some stores not as good views but...). It does seem to rain a decent bit in this location, so you can easily scoot inside if that's the case and you choose the patio. So I gave this place four stars but really it should be closer to three. Some of our food was really good. Some of our food was really mediocre. I'm going to chuck it up to some different tastes. Overall if I was in the area I would stop here again but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back

This spot is legit! The service was incredible, a total team effort by the entire electric staff. We never wanted for anything and made to feel welcome. Try the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Take it from someone who has enjoyed the namesake hot chicken in BNA dozens of times, the Public House's version was 100% authentic and on point. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

Everyone in our party was delighted! Fried green tomatoes....ROCK! Poutine....EPIC and super filling! The Big dill was just that...BIG! We'll definitely be back!

We hit up the Public House last night for some drinks, bites, and a few good belly laughs -- it was their monthly comedy night, after all! The place had plenty of room to stretch out, and the food did not disappoint. My husband went for the carnitas tacos, I grabbed the shrimp ones, and honestly, both were pretty tasty. The comedians brought the laughs too! If I had to nitpick, the service was a little on the slow side... but hey, good food and good vibes made up for it!

Hosted my dad's retirement party here and everyone had the best time!! The location and venue were perfect!! We were able to decorate and bring in a cake. Everything was set up perfect. We ordered the handheld options for the event and there was more than enough food. Folks really enjoyed the wings, chicken skewers, pizza stuffers, and egg rolls.

This place is great! For starters, the beer selection is always rotating and the selection is amazing! Second, they use locally sourced ingredients like buns and Colorado beef! Can't get any better than that!

Amazing food, great service and we just love the public house ambiance. Constant rotating local drafts. We've planned yet another visit.

Met two friends of mine from out of state there and the food was amazing but the service was lousy. The pub was crowded and they only had two waitresses serving all those people. My husband had to get up when we were ready to leave to pay the bill because our waitress never brought our bill. All the restaurants in Colorado Springs lately seem to have the same problem.

Visited on a Saturday, even with an event going on it was pretty fast. Decent local beer list. I specifically wanted to try their house spirits. They were fine.

Beer and cider on tap. Selection is fantastic and prices are actually reasonable for a bar. It helps the food is great too! Bartenders are super friendly and the event nights are hopping too!

We LOVE their food especially their wraps but to be honest their staff/ service are not great! A little disappointed this last time we went and their wraps were about half the size they normally are and they yet again were slacking on service.

We sat and ordered the appetizers. Service was excellent. Food was so good! Worth a stop.

First time coming here and we absolutely loved it. I'm a huge fan of pub food so I knew exactly what I wanted. We ordered the siracha shrimp tacos and carnitas street tacos. Both were a hit and very filling. For $14 this meal was such a good deal. I forgot to catch our waiter's name but she was nice and checked on us frequently. Definitely gonna come back to try the burgers since it's very popular as well.

The food at the Public House is always spot on and if we go during the day, the service is good. We made reservations a month in advance to celebrate my husband's birthday on a Friday evening at 6. The day before we added one more person for a party of 13. When my husband and I arrived at 5:45, there were only 12 chairs set at the table. In the next 10 minutes 6 others arrived. We had to flag someone down to take drink orders. Once the rest of our party came we thought we were all set. A waiter came over and asked if we wanted an app. None at the table were interested but do you think maybe he'd take our order? It was another 15 minutes before we decided to ask. Two friends had to leave before our food came. So disappointed in The Public House. We expected so much from them.

The sriancha street tacos were excellent! High quality, high grade. A couple in our hotel mentioned they ate there every night they stayed here. Green Chili Ale. I highly recommend it.

Open air patio (in the Fall, at least) and clean spare interior are welcoming. Service was good despite there being one server. We both asked for iced tea which came out quickly. My husband had been here before and ordered a Chicken Spinach Salad. I asked for recommendations from our server, Stephanie, who said the Rueben was very popular (and one of her favorites), so I ordered that. I got pub fries as my side, based on other reviews. The food took a little while to be served, but it looked beautiful when it arrived at the table (see pictures). The salad was gorgeous and fresh and my husband commented that it was even better than on his previous visit. My sandwich was also plated beautifully, and it tasted as good as it looked. Their Ruben is slightly different than most: it is served on grilled sourdough rather than rye and has pepper jack cheese instead of Swiss. The sambal aioli is a change from the normal thousand island dressing. Altogether it was delicious. I look forward to returning and trying the Carnitas tacos and the burgers!

We just visited the Public House at Alexander! Crazy neat place built in 1928... unique place with wide open space... They have 30 beers on tap and we found our tangerine cream ale and it was fantastic. The staff was friendly when we walked in and we started with an order of their fired green tomatoes. These were seriously the best we have had since we left the state of Alabama. They were crispy and cooked perfectly. Not greasy or oily and the mustard sauce over the top with a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning made it better! The crumbled goat cheese was the perfect topper to the appetizer. My wife does not like goat cheese but loved everything about this appetizer. We asked for hot sauce and never used it! We decided to try the Green Chile Mac and Cheese with Chicken and added the bacon as recommended by our server. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Juicy and moist inside with a perfect sear on the outside. We loved the flavors and the bacon was nice and crisp. We shared a side of the pub fries and they were crisp, hot and well seasoned. Could not ask for better service or food. The kitchen was immaculate and we cannot wait to try their burgers or other amazing dishes. The specials sounded amazing as well...

Our first time here. We came for dinner and I ordered the highly favored candied Caliente burger and husband had the flatbread pizza. They specialize in beers with a full blown beer menu and distillery in the back. Wait staff was good. The ambience is loud.

The service was amazing loved my bartenders, hospitality 10/10. My drink was strong and really good. We ordered the mushroom burger and shrimp tacos both were wayyyy better than expected. Will definitely be back when in town.

Service was lacking in so many ways. Husband and I came in and sat at the bar. We didn't immediately know what we wanted to order. The bartender acted put out. When she finally took our order, she took her time to make the drinks. She never came back for refills or asking if we'd like to order another. You know how the flight deck crew on aircraft carriers signals the jets, that's what we had to do to get her attention. Food was alright, the "cocktails" menu on the board tasted like melted Slurpees (all the same sweet/sour taste just different colors).

I had a mountain burger with bacon plus loaded pub chips. Overall the burger was great. The loaded chips were a little cold and the cheese congealed but we're very tasty. I sat at the bar and service was attentive but little interaction with bartender. I have to say the Bacon on the potatoes and the burger were not overcooked and very delicious. The ambiance was typical brew pub.

Loud and busy but food and drinks were all wonderful. Live band in the back on the Friday night we visited. Great tap selection, local breweries well represented.

The food is amazing, definitely the best burgers!! We also had the green chile Ale & the bikini limes sour which were great. Christine was our server and she is the best! Recommended really good options.

Service was a little slow. I had the French dip. It was ok. Could have used a little more seasoning. Wife had the fried green tomatoes. Said they were good. Would probably go back again.

Came here on New years Eve and had an amazing experience! The stout was so creamy and paired so well with the Ruben sandwich. We got the pretzel knots as our appetizer, and they were crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, so delicious, and I loved the cheese sauce that came with! The Ruben sandwich was beyond amazing, the meat was perfectly cooked and plenty of it. The bread was soft, and so were the fries. Absolutely, everything tasted amazing and cooked perfectly. Both drinks and food are too good to pass up, definitely will be back!

All true food is wonderful. I especially love the pork tacos and hamburgers with bacon jam.

The food was great! I liked my burger and potato wedges. The bun was fresh and you could tell that the burger itself was also fresh. My mom had the French dip and enjoyed it as well. The service was great too, I forgot our server's name but she was very sweet and knowledgeable of the menu and options, which helped one of my friends with the menu. I loved the ambiance, super cool little bar, and since we went in the springtime, they had the doors open, which was super nice. Overall it was great, can't wait to go back and try more food.

Great menu - lots of variety. Kinda hidden away, but it definitely has ambience. We ate near the wide open roll-up door, and it was lovely. Great French Dip, though the rolls were nothing to write home about. Love those chunky seasoned "chips" (fries). Cole slaw was good as well, and the Candied Caliente Burger will bring us back again!

This is the first time visiting this specific location, we usually go to the one off Hwy 115. It's incredibly loud, the waitress had to have us repeat ourselves several times. First round of drinks were wrong, wasn't worth the effort to try to get the waitress back to our table. When the food came out, my bangers were slightly warm, another person had onion rings and they had been sitting for a long time. They were super cold. I love the other location and wanted to try this one but won't be going back to this location.

Even though restaurant was kinda busy, the staff took care of us very well. food was ready quickly and tasted fantastic. I see why it was so popular.

Public House is one of my absolute favorite spots in Colorado Springs. The food is excellent and fairly priced. They have the best burgers in town but the other options are all delicious too. Their team cares about quality and you can 100% tell. They always have an excellent selection of craft beer too. They are one of the best in town!

I had the Classic Pub Burger twice and each time it was definitely a top 10 burger for me and my fiancé. The staff were super friendly and had great knowledge of the menu. The garlic knots are worth trying but for us the pretzel knots tossed garlic knot style were the way to go! Very cool spot to stop by

Yum yum yum heck yes I recommend this place!!! The menu was the first thing that caught my attention. We went for a late lunch on a Friday and sat at the bar, although there was plenty of seating. They had a great selection of different draft beers to choose from. I got the lamb burger (first time I ever had one) and it was remarkably good. The bartender recommended it and I'm glad I took her word. My bonita partner ordered the shrimp tacos. They were decent; spicy (which I like) but the shrimp was battered and fried which I didn't expect. I would absolutely like to come here again and check it out on a weekend night

Big sandwich, come prepared. The compliment of flavors and textures was on point. Great Craft root beer.

The Green Chili Mac w/ chorizo was amazing!! The Oreo cheesecake was super yummy, too. The server was great, friendly & quick to get our order. I would highly recommend this restaurant/brewery for a date night. Hubby & I will definitely eat there again when we stop back through Colorado Springs.

The Public House at the Alexander is a nice local pub and burger joint. It's open and spacious with a large bar seating area. They have over 25 local brews to choose from. In tried one of their red wheat beers, which was nice and smooth. We came here for burgers, which they didn't disappoint. The burgers were fresh and juicy, cooked to order. Service was great. Everyone was welcoming and attentive while we dined. All burgers were around $16 and they came with seasoned crispy potato wedges. I had the fire burger with jalapeños. It wasn't too spicy. Check them out!

UNDERCOOKED Brussels sprouts, OVERCOOKED burger. I asked for med/ rare, pink as they'll allow it. I got it well done. No pink in sight. Brussels were super hard. It's really sad, because I have been boasting about the burgers here for years, this is the first time I've been there since December, and it was awful. Not to mention the service. Asked for things we didn't get. Even went in and asked for a to go box, was told she's bringing it out. She comes out with just the checks. So had to ask. She assumed all 4 of us were in the same check, instead of just asking so had to correct that. Had to ask for condiments and napkins, etc. Just super bummed that the time I get to pick, this was how it went.

Great beer selection with great food. Tucked away behind the Home2Suite and Herring Bank at The Alexander. Given how good the food is there was surprised at how few people were there. Worth going for the food even if you don't go for anything on their expansive beer wall. Absolutely impressed that the Hog Poppers (pork rinds) are freshly flash fried - they come out still crackling!!! They come with limes to squeeze over them. I was skeptic, but it worked well. You can optionally get them made spicy. Pro tip: stick with the big, lightly fried, airy pieces, the small, darker pieces are a tougher chew (very few pieces come out this way). I went with The Big Dill, a fried chicken sandwich with dill three ways. At the waitress's suggestion I added Buffalo sauce and it was a great addition and played off the dill very well. My son got the Cuban and it was so good that I never got a bite! LOL Didn't partake in any of the beers on tap, but the selection was impressive. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive!

Absolutely delicious burgers and fries! One of the best burgers I have ever had. The fries are amazing. Update: went back and had the brisket sliders and queso and chips, so good!

I ordered the chicharonnes as an appetizer which were so tough I couldn't chew them. My main meal was the bangers and mash with a side of asparagus which was not fresh, and arrived wilted and tough to cut. The sausages were tasteless as were the mashed potatoes. The only good thing was the oniony sauce on the mashed potatoes. My wife ordered a burger which my wife said was just okay. A thin meat patty and soggy challah bun. The service was not good. Our food order was taken and we finally had to wave at somebody after about 20 minutes to take our drink order. They seemed angry that we did this. I ordered a margarita which was undrinkable. I've never tasted anti-freeze, but I imagine this drink tastes just like it. My wife's beer was good. This was our first and last time at this establishment. The space is nice, and I'm sure it could do well with some server training and a new cook.

It's another yes for me. I'm gonna sing high praises for this restaurant to anyone who'll listen to me. I can't think of a negative word about my whole experience here. Walking in we were greeted by a cheerful face and a warm greeting. It truly makes such a difference sometimes. We were promptly told to chose our seating which was easy enough. The list of beers was explained to us as it was by the bar, again so easy! I ordered a peach cobbler cider and I instantly was hooked. Legit, I might go back within the week to sit and have another. It was perfect. We ordered the chips and queso to start and another hit! So delicious. The chips were thick enough to hold up to the queso which was a perfect consistency. Our burgers were the highlight though! My husband got the fire burger and I got the mountain burger. Omg, completely in heaven with the first bite. Each ingredient was well thought out and worked in perfect harmony with the others. Needless to say we left full, happy, and wishing we could start the whole experience again. We've already told friends they need to come, and hey! Maybe we'll join them.

Very delicious food and cool ambiance. Really enjoyed our bartender Nico, great service and wonderful hospitality. Will be coming back to try the other 15 things on the menu I thought I wanted.

Ordered the Philly cheesesteak and onion rings and it is delicious! Their beer draft selection is excellent. Would love to see Elysium IPA from Cerebus Brewery as one of their draft selections. Stephanie provided great service. They have daily specials. She is always so friendly.check out the daily specials board by the bar. One day, I will try their soup and the dessert from the daily specials.

First off our server was great. Her personality and conversation was fun. The food - excellent. I had the cheesy steak sandwich and it was cheesy good! I travel across the country and can say this place is top 5 best pub I've visited!
