I went to this salon for the first time a few days ago and had such a great experience! It was my first time getting my hair dyed, and Maria ABSOLUTELY knew what she was doing!! First of all the color turned out sooo good! 💗 She also nailed the hairstyle I had in mind, and I’ve been getting compliments about it lately. I felt super comfortable there the whole time, and she really took the time to make sure everything was perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want to get your hair done!

I can finally say I found someone who understands my hair. Maria did an amazing job on my hair. I’ve thick Asian hair and she really knows her job well. She’s very humble, fun and will guide you to the right direction. You won’t regret getting your hair done by her. I absolutely loved it.

Maria did a fantastic job with my hair! Wanted to go for a very specific blue and they matched the color I wanted perfectly, and the actual cut itself was great as well :] had to drive for about an hour to get over there and it was 100% worth it

Everyone was super friendly and professional. Kendra Rubin did an amazing job! She's so talented and fun to talk to while getting your hair done. This will definitely be my go to spot from now on.

its not letting me post the full review so please check it out on yelp if you're considering coming here but coming here was the biggest mistake I've ever made To start I had to wait an hour after my appointed time to start. Profane language was used throughout and I left with burnt off hair. Kendra likes to say that my hair burnt off due to a factor such as my birth control however I have had my hair bleached in the past. A professional told me that it was a too high of volume used and it was left in for too long (she did a full cut on a client while the bleach sat in my hair) I voiced that it was getting extremely hot on my head and that bleach never felt like this before but it was still left in. Kendra offered some artificial hair clip ins but they won't fix the disaster. The unprofessionalism was insane so please check yelp for an explanation but in the end she didnt make me pay but i would give triple the quoted price to not have ever stepped foot in this salon.

Let me tell y’all, this is the best color and cut i have ever had! First of all, Kendra and Elliot were so kind and funny, and such great people! Their all inclusive salon made me feel right at home, and the fact that they work on everyone and all hair types is the most amazing thing ever. Kendra did a fantastic job, catering to my hair needs and what she knew would look best. The color, the cut, and the styling is perfect, and i have never felt more confident! I will be coming back to the Punk and Poet for sure!

I came and got my hair done here after a friend recommended me, and it came out beautifully! Kendra is super nice and the atmosphere overall was really welcoming and I will absolutely be coming back!! 💛

My usual hairstylist wasn't responding so I ended up scheduling with punk & poet on a whim. Super glad I did. I can't remember the name of the woman who did my hair (sorry!) but she knew exactly what I was going for and did a fantastic job. The color and texture of my hair were spot-on. They were also slightly less expensive than what I'm used to paying so I'll probably keep coming here.

I just left the Punk and Poet. I am really happy with the entire experience. This salon really does make ypu feel welcome and comfortable. It's not pretensious as other Salons and you feel like your hanging out with friends. I requested an online appointment, and they were prompt and flexible. My hair was unruly and wild and never did I feel like I was putting out the stylest. I felt at ease and it was a good time and good experience. I am going to consider getting my hair colored. I will for sure return. I recommend this salon for those who want a really great experience

I've known Kendra for many years and she has really come into her calling. She is amazing. She is creative, pays attention to detail, and truly cares. I've been to many high dollar salons and love Kendra just as much! Her house elf is fun to talk to and impressive too!

I regret driving almost 40 minutes to come and get my hair BUTCHERED. If their speciality it's hair color and not haircuts it would be nice to know. When I ask the hairstylist Kendra what I wanted and even showed her VIDEOS of the haircut I wanted. She proceeded to cut my hair without section it or whatever. Never ask me how long I wanted, never ask where the first layer I wanted to start. I asked for long layers and a face framing, which I don't think it's that complicated. If she could've told me she wasn't feeling comfortable doing that haircut I would've understand but She cut my hair so short and she took SO MUCH volume that left my hair so thin it's a joke even though I didn't ask for it. And I knew that mid cut I should've ask her to stop but I blame my social anxiety. She left this weird looking layer by my cheekbones that she decided to stick back with a bunch of hairspray and she tried to hide all of that by curling my hair. I didn't say anything and just paid whatever she charged me for I almost cried in the parking lot I had to go to another salon and ask them to make my hair look decent which I have to say they SAVED me and indeed this other hairstylist could tell she took so much volume out of my hair.

first of all i don't like leaving bad reviews but this is just a warning for any new clients. there are many good reviews but at the same time my hair is absolutely destroyed. the first red flag was that i had to wait an hour over my scheduled appointment time. i'm missing about a hand size patch of hair (all that's left is max 2 inches) and my entire head of hair now is about as thick as 1/3 of my hair before i went. i started with half red and half black hair and i wanted to progressively get my hair back to half black half white (expecting to leave this appointment with half brown half black hair). the bleach was left in foils while kendra worked on a cut for another client and it was checked one time. after speaking to a professional, they concluded it shouldn't have been left as long as it was considered i've bleached my hair 3 times in the past (which was stated during the appointment). my hair was melting off in chunks and continues to have chunks fall off the day after my appointment. i'm beyond embarrassed of the uneven cut and horrific breakage of my hair. kendra put it down to a dye that was used or a pill im on but i've been dying my hair for years now and i've never had anything like this happen before. im so disappointed. we were later going to make it half pink to work with what we have but ended up doing my entire head of hair black. i agreed on that to mask the damage but the whole situation is so upsetting. i was not charged for this service but i would pay triple the original quote to have my hair back. the unprofessionalism was apparent as well considering i'm a teenager and kendra was speaking about inappropriate topics to a client while i was sitting in the same room. inappropriate language was used throughout due to frustration and being overall unprofessionalism. most definitely not an ideal place for kids or anyone who is looking for a relaxing experience and a full head of hair. clip in extensions were offered at the end but i regret this entire experience in the end, i ended up paying over $400 for human hair extensions so save yourself a little less than $500 but hit up salon bellezza if you need your hair fixed with extensions

Awesome place & vibes. Friends kept talking about how great these people are. I haven't had the chance to get a cut from them BUT they did cut my toddlers hair & it was a fantastic experience. My brother in-law has tried every studio around and swears by them. They love what they do and it shows! Only issue - good trouble... is they are quite busy so schedule ahead of time.

I have been searching and searching for a salon that was affordable and could give me the cut and color I wanted. This is the place! I never had a problem. I tried this place seeing as it was close to my house. Kendra is awesome and I love seeing her everytime. I went here originally because I went to another salon and the lady butchered my hair and left it so so so uneven. I called to get an appointment to even it out and Kendra agreed when she saw me and said, "Your length is so uneven." She evened it out and said, "There, now you look gorgeous!" That sealed it for me. I got amazing coloring here as well. When people see me, they always comment on how much they love my hair. One friend of mine said, "I want purple hair." I said, "You should." She said, "I will, I'm in love with your hair. Come here! You won't regret it.

11/10 fantastic service. Everyone who works there is great and super personable, and beyond excellent at what they do. The whole vibe of the place is super unique and welcoming. I downloaded Yelp specifically to review The Punk & Poet if that's any indicator.

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with them. I asked for red, and she gave me blonde highlights, then I asked for a certain haircut and I got almost a mullet. Odd one layer cut instead of multiple layers. Had to have another stylist correct everything. The only reason I'm putting 2 stars is because Kendra was very sweet and nice.

WOW. Is this place full of energy. We loved it. My better half has been in search of a place that would listen on how she wanted it cut. Everyone said the same thing. "Sure sure, I understand" and then they did it the way they are use to. This was NOT the case in this place. They did a great job and the price was decent too.

Kendra did a great job on my haircut. I am a guy and did not do any color but she took her time and it looked great when complete. I have seen alot of the work she does and it is very impressive. I highly recommend The Punk and the Poet.

Kendra did an awesome job of revitalizing my hairstyle. She's good company and works hard to make your style look great. My hair was pretty fried from a bad stylist before, but she still managed to turn my head of tangles into a healthy fresh look. Also, props on the music

I found Kendra on a recommendation from a friend and I patiently waited 2 weeks to meet her and have her work her MAGIC. She worked so hard on my hair and listened to my issues concerns and my ultimate hair goals... my hair looks amazing. I'm so happy to have met her - she's an awesome lady and a true professional. I highly recommend this salon and Kendra. I will be back for maintenance.
