Absolutely delicious. Tons of flavor. Great customer service. Giant portions. Great value for the money. Highly recommend this place. Wish they had a location significantly more north so I can go more often. The vegan meat definitely tasted high quality too, I was impressed.

This is the ultimate juice spot. I have used their three day juice cleanse multiple times, and I must say their juices are delicious and also really help manage weight loss and eliminate inflammation. I honestly just love how they taste so I’d rather purchase juices from here just for my own satisfaction. Also there, vegan food is fire! That kale salad is my favorite and the vegan spaghetti is seasoned to perfection. Definitely recommend you check them out!

Incredible food and friendly service ! I tried them at Lollapalooza 2025 and can say that this is some of the best food i had in all of chicago ! Incredible flavor and amazing use of ingredients . As non vegans , me and my wife just wanted something a little lighter and were blown away with these guys !

I’ve been a fan of their outstanding juices and some of my favorite dishes are spaghetti and southwest kale salad, which are delicious! Well last night I tried their newest dish, lasagna and it was sooo tasty I was pleasantly surprised and impressed by how much I enjoyed it! Their vegan foods are so comparable to regular food you really can’t tell the difference taste wise BUT your body feels different, in a good way! I highly recommend you try this brand, Rob is a great vegan chef and the food is amazing, I guarantee you will love it! 😍

The Pure Juice and Vegan Food Joint is amazing. The juices are cold pressed fresh and filled with vitamins and nutrients. In addition, the food is phenomenal from Vegan Lasagna, Taco Kale Salad, yummy natural burgers and more, everything on the menu is cooked with LOVE.

I love the presentation, they’re very nice & professional. I’m not a vegan eater but the Vegan pasta dishes i had was delicious, The juice i love all the flavors. For all the vegan lovers great place to go!

Order through Uber Eats, I ordered two of these sandwiches and paid extra for the vegan cheeze sauce, which wasn't on EITHER sandwich which was a HUGE let down. Because of proximity and time, sandwiches were soggy. Flavor was alright, glad I asked for ketchup to add to cut some of the spice. Wasn't any lettuce, and I just think the cheeze sauce would've aided the sandwich overall.

Location was unexpected but im always looking for unexpected gems. The need better signage since the outside still has the name of 2 former businesses. Inside the decor is on the come up but its a big place and im sure they did a lot. But the floors and lighting made the place look dingy not cozy. The food was good. though the descriptions were so creative and tantalizing, the actual dishes did not live up to the description. The staff were friendly enough but kinda introverted. i wanted them to tell me more about their specialties since I said I was a first timer and only read the menu online. I will go back, ask more questions, and try more items.

Just had the 10 Portabella Wings with Fries and Drink. The mushrooms were DEFINITELY fried in old grease! No flavor. Had to take the old fried batter off to eat it.

I was elated to have more vegan fast food options for Delivery during this pandemic. My sister told me about Black Vegan through a FB post of the Cheesy shrimp Gyro. I ordered yesterday for the first time. Let's look at the Pros; 1.Sparkle is efficient with communication. The computers were down and she manage to work it out.2. The Pita on the Gyro wasn't dry.3. Presentation 4.texture of the shrimp amaaaazing.5. Fresh lettuce and onions 6. Cheese sauce was the flavor Cons 1)I ordered strawberry cheesecake which was in the container of hot food. Cheesecake was melted. 2) Fries appeared to be Cajun but they lacked flavor and taste like flour. 3) Gyro taste hollow. 4) Payment options Cash App/Zelle 5)16.50 + tax for gyro, fries and water. I ordered 3 Shrimp Gyro Meals and 2 strawberry cheesecakes with a Ginger Ale for 61.50. I would have to try Black Vegan out for other Vegan Junk Food options.

I ordered the portobello wings expecting them to have been transformed into something that fit the name "wings" but really they were just breaded mushrooms in mild sauce. They were very tasty breaded mushrooms (crispy, juicy, flavorful) and the mild sauce was excellent, but I still paid $10 for something I could have gotten from any pizza place for $4. It was nothing specialty that I'd need to order from a vegan restaurant. The mini cheesecakes were okay. The crust was delicious and sweet. The cheesecake part was a let down and tasted like thinned sour cream (but a little sweeter than sour cream). I know vegan cheesecakes are hard to get right, but these weren't even close. Again, if they had been maybe $2 each I would be okay with them. But at $15 for 2, I expect them to be excellent. I hope the food improves because we need more vegan restaurants in the area.

Amazing experience! My girlfriend and I stopped by the black vegan for some lunch this weekend and we were greeted with the most wonderful smile. She explained everything on the menu and gave us recommendations. We ordered the wings (orange and spicy). The wings were excellent and the fries were well seasoned everything was hot and fast! Before we left we ordered the cheesecakes and my girlfriend (a vegan) said they were the best cheesecake she has ever had! We will be back! The energy and the vibe was amazing and much needed! Excellent service and food!

Excellent vegan wings! I was impressed that each "wing" was an entire portabella mushroom, breaded and fried. It was still juicy in the center but perfectly fried. I liked the mild sauce the best; I thought it was the most flavorful. We were greeted by the owner in person; this is a small woman-of-color-owned business. We'll be back. :)

My fiancé and I placed an order earlier this evening around 6:40pm. We didn't receive our food until 9:20pm. We received a call letting us know that certain items in our order were out of stock around 7pm, so we were under the assumption that the rest of our food was being prepared and would be delivered shortly. However, it wasn't.  We called and left a voicemail at 8:37pm to ask for an ETA but did not receive a call back. We then received a call at 9:01pm from someone stating they had arrived with our order but she called us by mistake because she was in another location with someone else's order. At 9:09pm, we received a text stating that our food left the restaurant 10 mins ago and would arrive shortly.  The food did arrive about 10 mins later. My fiancé inquired about the delayed delivery time and the driver told him that our food was late due to road detours. She said that the text stating that our food left the restaurant 10 mins ago wasn't true.  I ordered the Cajun mashed potato stuffed bowl and was disappointed to see that it didn't contain spinach as the description said. Also, we ordered bottles of water with our meals but received cans of ginger ale instead.  We are highly disappointed that our first experience with this restaurant did not leave a good impression. We were excited to support a black vegan business and let down with our experience.  We were anticipating becoming regular patrons of this restaurant to support and enjoy good food, however this was a very disappointing experience.

Gluten free Friday was so good!!! The ribs and mushrooms were awesome- yum!! Also had a really yummy crispy fried "chicken" sandwich. Sparkle was so sweet and really made the experience excellent! Will be back - folks should try this place!!

Not worth the money!!! It is so overpriced and just way too many flavors. I got 3 fried pickles for 10 bucks....a gyro with no sauce or fries for 13 and the bread was undercooked.....so upset because I also ordered the pie and it's just purée in a pie tin. Totally disgusting. I'm very upset to spend so much for a totally unsatisfactory meal.

Not many restaurants around the city can claim that they serve up vegan southern home cooking. This is what makes Black Vegan unique. It's the reason why I drive 20 minutes to go pick it up. The BBQ ribs and the fried shrimp are highlights, although I've never strayed away from those as they are too good not to order. The owner is also so sweet and accommodating. I see big things for her and her business! They also have an Instagram with some yummy photos to look at.
