Great Happy Hours are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. So when I find one that is truly deserving of accolades it gets 5 stars. I've seen the whining about The Q being in a strip mall. So what? If you want vineyard side dining get in your car and drive north 20 minutes, then increase your tab by 50%.
I've seen the whining about not allowing service dogs inside, by patrons who bring multiple PETS masquerading as service animals. As someone who worked in the hospitality business for 35 years, I know the type well. Yet, my wife and I just experienced a meal one table away from a mother, son and an extremely well behaved dog who was provided a bowl of water. No issue there...
I'm posting to say The Q is well worth your consideration. The staff has always been kind, polite and very helpful during the 6 to 10 times we've dined there. The bartender is a gem who knows how to invent concoctions like the Judas Priest and the Porch Swing, drinks so delicious you want to reverse engineer them but can never quite find the right juju at home.
The servers have always been very enjoyable and attentive to our needs. They bring a smile to our face when they greet us and they are considerate of COVID concerns by always properly wearing their masks in order to protect their guests, even outside.
Then there is the food. The Happy Hour menu currently offers only 3 items, but that's all you need when they are this good! I'm a grill master, but their Asian sticky ribs are to die for, with the sauce capturing the perfect balance of umami and 5 spice. Their fish tacos, my wife's favorite, are among the best I've found in the valley. The chicken nachos are no average plate of chips and cheese. You get a mountain of chicken, cheese, chips, crema, quacamole and salsa mixed in.
If you are wondering about The Q, check 'em out. You won't be disappointed!
