11 Essential North Bay Barbecue Spots | Eater SF

"Memphis-style barbecue with a cold cabbage dish named for a famed Oakville winemaker and AQ pricing for the day’s steak plate means you have arrived in the Napa Valley. So pull up a chair on the Q’s large and comfortable patio and bask in the cakey crumb of their corn bread, marveling that all of this could possibly be contained in a strip mall." - Gretchen Giles

My wife and I had a fantastic experience here. The space is beautiful, and the food was top-notch. I had the brisket — tender, smoky, and perfectly cooked. My wife had the smoked chicken sandwich, which was packed with flavor, and the mac and cheese was excellent. As a restaurant owner and chef, I know good food — and this was the perfect combination of quality, technique, and soul. Our server, Eric, was friendly and attentive, and the owner/manager on duty was incredibly pleasant — they genuinely listened to feedback we shared on the coleslaw and appreciated the input. That kind of hospitality makes a lasting impression. We’ll definitely be back.

My family and I are visiting for a family reunion. We actually was trying to go to another restaurant across the street but they were closing. So we crossed the street and tried Q Restaurant & Bar. We were really pleased and happy that we ended up there. The service was great and the food also. I had the fried chicken dinner. The chicken was seasoned just right and the mashed potatoes and gravy was decent. It also came with a side of greens. They were good but I would have wanted them to be a little more tender. My husband had the same but with a side of mac and cheese which was amazing. I definitely forgot to take pictures. The best part was the music that was played. We sang the entire time. Just a great time spent with family.

Ordered the grilled Angus beef. Cheeseburger and a side of the deep fried dill pickles. A little disappointed with both. The deep fried dill pickles although tasty were very oily. They were so oily they were shiny. They also had a slight fishy flavor. Could be because they were cooked in canola oil or they were cooked in the same oil that was used to cook fish. Not sure. The cheeseburger was the bigger disappointment. The bun was over toasted on the verge of being burnt. I ordered the burger cooked to medium. Unfortunately the burger arrived cooked past well done. It was very dry. Not juicy at all. No drip on the plate juicy. And no drip down your arms juicy. It was just dry. It tasted okay, but it would have been better if it was a little juicier. I really would have liked it if It was cooked to medium.

I kicked off my birthday weekend at Q R&B. The ambiance is nice. It's a good place for date night, a low-key dinner, or catching up with friends. I don't think I would call it kid friendly. In fact, I dont recall seeing any kids. I ordered the guava margarita on the rocks with Don Julio Repasado. It was my first drink in a month or so, and it was good! Appetizers were spinach and artichoke dip, garlic artichokes, wings, and deviled eggs. All tasty 😋 For dinner, I ordered brisket, pulled pork, ribs, coleslaw, and macaroni & cheese. The coleslaw was eeehhh, but the asparagus was 🔥 I could have eaten two plates of that. Our waiter was attentive. ..and made sure to bring me a birthday dessert 😉 I highly recommend, especially for a date night. It was 7 of us and our bill was $850.00 😂🤣

I have gone to this place 3 times. Each time I have had the worst food ever!! 1st time, I had the Fried Chicken sandwich. It was horribly dry. 2nd time I thought, ok 2nd time should be better. Nope. I had the Fish & Chips. The Fish was so grease and fries were soggy. This 3rd and last time, I thought 3rd time is a charm. By far from Charming. I decided to just go with fries....garlic fries. How bad can you screw up fries. Well.....PRETTY FREAKIN BAD!!! The fries came hot. Lots of garlic. Most of the fries were so small had a hard time picking them up. It was like I got the bottom of the bag. Then as I got closer to half done I noticed they started tasting very greasy. Bite after bite I was getting more grease in my mouth. I decided to pour the rest of them on my plate that I had ketchup on. As I poured I noticed grease/oil pouring from the stainless steel cup they were in. As I looked inside, there was about a 1/4" of grease/oil at the bottom. It was so disgusting. In the pic I had already pour some out on top of the fries on the plate and there was still more in the cup. I could no longer eat these. It turned my stomach. McDonald's fries are much better than these. Is this how you serve you food??? I couldn't believe my eyes. My friends even turned their heads when I showed them. I told the guy that's was clearing the table and his words were...."I'll let them know." I was too disgusted to even bother pursuing the problem since this was my 3rd and last time trying at this place. I WILL NEVER PROMOTE OR RECCOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE! I don't know how a restaurant can serve such bad food and still be open for business. I guess since it's also a bar that if you drink enough the food starts to taste good. I don't drink so I wouldn't know. They also let dogs in. They were in the patio but they have to walk through the restaurant where people are eating. I don't want dog hair floating around where I am eating. I love dogs and have 2 but they do not belong walking through where people are eating. So BEWARE! I refuse to give my money to a business that doesn't care about what happens.

As a small business owner, I would like to offer a bit of constructive criticism. The girl that greeted us at the door was kind but was a bit quiet and didn't come off overly friendly, which is necessary as a greeter. Our waitress (guessing maybe the owner) was super nice and informative. The only reason for the three star review is that my brisket sandwich was all fat. I would suggest in the future making sure that the fat is trimmed and customers are actually getting meat on their sandwich instead of all fat. The fries they came with the sandwich were nice and crispy but a little overwhelming as a side. My wife did enjoy her pulled chicken but also thought there were a few too many fries. Hope this helps.

My husband and I went here for lunch and it was pretty quiet. We didn't know any better and probably should have came here for dinner instead. The food was VERY filling! For appetizer we had fried pickles and they were the best fried pickles I've had. Sliced perfectly and not too thick. We also got mocktails to drink. Whatever the pink drink (pictured) is was so good! I had the brisket sandwich and he had the fried chicken dinner. Man I wish I would've gotten the fried chicken. It was seasoned so well and those mashed potatoes were so yummy. We substituted the collards for cornbread since we don't eat pork. We thought our waiter was going to bring out a corn bread muffin but instead bought out a mini cast iron of delicious corn bread topped with honey butter. I knocked off a star for my sandwich and mac and cheese it was just okay. Brisket was fatty and not really pulled or tender enough. Mac & cheese wasn't the typical grandma's baked mac & cheese. Overall food was pretty good and our waiter can't remember his name, but he was really nice as well as the lady who was in there as well. Very attentive and very nice people!

Had a great lunch at The Q Restaurant. The staff (the owner came to our table abd made conversation and was very nice) was so friendly and the food D-liscious! (The collard greens were heavenly)👌I had the Sunday Supper special, which included: appetizer, main course (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and collard greens), and desert. The Cranberry, ginger beer and rosemary mocktail was on point. This may be my new weekend escape.

Yelp
GO! This place has solid food especially fried chicken, greens, lemon dessert. And the best is happy hour for 1/2 off bottles and apps. Go!

Yelp
Deviled eggs: not very tasty. Too much mustard and the bacon would have been better as an accoutrement instead of being mixed in. Cornbread: Delicious!!! Order it!! The coleslaw: vinegar and creamy options, I really appreciate that; it's rare to find both offerings. The gulf shrimp was sooooo good. WOW!!! Super juicy, well seasoned, thick and battered to perfection. I was thoroughly impressed with my shrimp. The service was inviting and pretty quick too. I'm glad someone recommended it.

Yelp
In our first night in Napa, we were looking for a casual spot for dinner after a long day of travel. The Q Restaurant was just what we were looking for. The vibe is casual, the service friendly, especially the owner, Kelly, who made us feel at home. We ordered the bbq platter for 2, which was loaded with pork, beef, chicken, and more! The Cole slaw that went with it was delicious too. The meat with all the different sauces was very good. The desserts stole the show, delicious pecan pie and a brownie sundae! If you're looking for something nice and easy in Napa, give Q a try!
google avatar

Yelp
The Q moved! Love the new location in downtown Napa a couple of blocks from the main strip. Our server (didn't catch his name, tall young man w curly hair) was so friendly and genuinely seemed like he like his job. We had the Q for 2, greens and cornbread. The Q for 2 could have easily fed 3 people and a good value for $54. The brisket was melt in your mouth so good; chicken had a good smoke flavor and moist! Greens had a small kick and was nice and vinegary. Will definitely return!
google avatar

Yelp
A lot of restaurants don't open till 5 o'clock, but the Q was open at 3 o'clock and we went in! Love the feeling in here... It's just so cute and quaint and there's even outside seating in a private room for a large crowd. We'll have a booth and they even had that for us. I got the bacon lettuce and tomato with avocado sandwich. That was absolutely delicious! It has a basil aïoli on it and was so yummy. My husband got the blackened cod sandwich and it was delicious as well... Both sandwiches were around $19 but you got a mountain full of Crispy, hot and salty fries with it! Not sure when we will be back as there are so many new restaurants opening up in Napa, and we just want to dry them all! Even though the Q is not new, it was for us!

Yelp
Highly recommend took my entire family for a birthday celebration and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Yelp
A is a great relaxed place to gather with friends new and old; providing spaces for larger gatherings and small tables for couples. There's even an inviting courtyard in the back. The menu looks pretty standard, but don't let that fool you. When the meals come out, they are flavorful and filling. A must try is the fried chicken. Crispy, crunchy and moist. Delicious! The staff is friendly, attentive and efficient. When in Napa, most certainly give The Q a visit.
google avatar

Renee C.

Yelp
I love the Q and it is a regular place for my husband and I. The ONLY negative is how loud they play the music. Even a tiny bit lower would be amazing because I do not consider myself a sensitive person! But it is LOUD. Also I do not like to sit outside (as was kindly suggested) due to incremental weather and would rather be indoors. I wonder why the music is so loud ? I have asked a few times to staff. The staff is very friendly and very efficient and I love everything about The Q except for the loud music. If the manager or owner sees this, can you please evaluate the volume. Even one notch lower would be helpful!

Yelp
Ask the price before you order wine . I am in the industry , I ordered a local Zinfandel 2 glasses ,1inch pours,I know a bottle is $29 when I got the bill of fifty bucks a pour ' wow a little overpriced this is a bbq joint, I was really happy the last two times we came here , we had cocktails and appetizers, this time the service was slow , bartenders not much personality, and I was mistaken for a tourist that doesn't know the price of local wines. So moral of the story I'm not cheap but don't try to be a **boujee, Thomas Keller Wantanabe tourist priced ' downtown Napa bbq joint' a lot of your customers are local and may not come back' a note I've enjoyed the service here in the past I just got caught off guard this time.

Yelp
My GF and I came over for birthday lunch Key Lime Pie 7.5/10 Crust was good Calamari 6/10 Batter would fall apart The Q for 2 meat platter 8/10 red meat was great, sauce was great, chicken was kind of tough. Drinks 10/10 super good, got seconds weren't sure from the menu, but ended up being amazing! :) Service 9/10 Overall 7.5/10

Yelp
First time here & we're surprised about the good food & excellent service. I just don't like how close you are with the next table & hear their stories.
google avatar

Yelp
The Q is one of our favorite places to enjoy for lunch or dinner! The bartender makes amazing cocktails and the BBQ is off the hook. Love this new location better than their previous one and the outdoor patio is perfect for sunny days!
google avatar

Alyssa R.

Yelp
I've been here twice so far, and the food was great both times. Our favorite meats were the fried chicken and brisket, the ribs I had were extremely dry. Our favorite sides were the mashed potatoes and French fries, the Mac n cheese is decent but super cheesy. The strawberry shortcake was very good but they don't have it on the menu all the time. Both times we've been the service has lacked, we had long waits for our waiter to get back to our table, and not very personable, and I'm not sure if we'll be back due to this. But overall definitely a great option for a quick dinner without any waits.
google avatar

Dan K.

Yelp
First off the service was very good. That's about it. Now let's get to the food. This was by far the worst BBQ restaurant I have ever been to. If you read my other reviews, you will see that I am very critical of BBQ, being that I grew up with it and worked in a BBQ joint in Tennessee. What we ate here is not BBQ it is smoked cardboard. We ordered ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Every meat we ate was like eating cardboard. Most of the BBQ was left uneaten, and not taken home. Even the fried chicken was not up to par. The dark meat pieces were okay but the breast was a Heimlich maneuver just waiting to happen. Fried cardboard as dry as my humor. The only thing worth eating was the cornbread. We took this home. So, for $100, we ate cornbread. I don't get why this place gets good reviews. Maybe they lost their pit boss.

Yelp
I keep searching for good BBQ in Napa and unfortunately, this just is not the spot. Overall, I'm sad at how my experience with Q turned out as I wanted so badly to support another local spot. Aesthetic - 6/10 Pretty bland decor. The bar seems like it wants to be a sports bar with the large TVs but its dead silent... and then the rest of the restaurant has a vague Napa winery theme but that was not what I expected from a BBQ restaurant. Staff - 6/10 The host was very pleasant on arrival but our waiter lacked any personality or engagement. We tried to ask his opinion about which items to order and he seemed put off to even need to answer us. We had a different gentleman stop by a few times throughout our meal to check in who was very friendly but we weren't sure the disconnect between the two. Our order: - Ghosts of Graceland - Easily my favorite part of the whole experience. Delicious, fresh, and definitely would recommend! - Grounds for separation - The beginning tasted like a jack and coke and then quickly became bitter and crisp, my partner enjoyed it! - Grilled Artichoke - Pretty good. The artichoke was a decent size, cooked well, and the aioli was yummy. - Butter Lettuce Salad - Legitimately just butter lettuce, apple slices, and vinaigrette... It was fresh and the vinaigrette was good but no creativity and definitely nowhere near $13 worth of a salad. - Choice of three combo plate with baby back ribs, brisket, sausage and creamy cole slaw - Overall impression of the BBQ was DRY. We had to soak our meats in the BBQ sauce to make it enjoyable (which honestly I wish we had brought our own, its a heavy tomato base and just not great). The sausage was probably the best of the three meats but it reminded me of a bratwurst or hot dog more than BBQ sausage. The cole slaw was decent. Overall, I am a picky BBQ eater given I'm from Texas but this place really missed the mark. You can tell the BBQ is not made fresh and my hope is they improve with time.

Yelp
Last night we had dinner at the bar and overall we had a very enjoyable evening. The ambience is very nice. The frickles were an interesting interpretation. The ranch dressing was pretty good. The fish and chips portion was huge and generous though a little greasy for my taste. The winner of the night were the ribs they were cooked perfectly and the flavor was fantastic. We found the chicken to be a little dry. Our recommendation if you try, this restaurant is to get the ribs.

Sandra K.

Yelp
We were able to walk to this restaurant from the Westin. We were seated promptly in the dining area which had an informal bar atmosphere. We started with the crab appetizer which was bland and a little fishy tasting. Our entrees were better.
google avatar

Vernon M.

Yelp
Such an amazing place, my job threw us a staff Christmas party last night. We met with Kelly the owner, she's is an amazing person that worked with us and even printed a custom dinner itinerary for our staff with our company logo. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful clean place to go for inch or dinner. The dinner was delicious and full of flavor. I would recommend this for oneself and also to anyone that planning a big group of 20 or less they set us up in a private room that we could enjoy our night with distractions. The staff were amazing and tentative to us.

Yelp
DID NOT SMELL LIKE BBQ. I ordered the rubs and brisket. Both were super thick and D R Y. Fries were initially brought out cold, then 3nd batch was overcooked. Service was decent, the servers were nice and responsive, and the atmosphere was decent. Oh, the wings (appetizer) were seasoned well, but pretty tough. All the meat was definitely overcooked. My partner says the fish was excellent. That's great, BUT this place is advertised as a BBQ spot...Oh yea, I have a gluten and dairy allergy and had NO reaction...so they get an A for that
google avatar

Beth O.

Yelp
The food was very tasty (I had the brisket sandwich) and the service was fantastic. Thanks, Maya. Will definitely go back next time in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
The place is cute! We sat at the bar and the bartender was busy but on top of everything! Ask her about some of her craft drinks...yum! She made a blueberry, ginger beer some something that was not too sweet but delicious! Fun spot for a girls night out and they have a happy hour! Great smoked chicken nachos... frankly all the food we tried we liked very much! Worth a stop if your in napa! Full bar and wine... yippie
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
Mediocre bbq at its best.. highly overpriced as well. The drinks were decent and the server was attentive but that's only good thing I have to say about this establishment

Yelp
Food was great our bartender was funny and the service was quick! Definitely be heading back again!

Yelp
Saw this place yesterday on a stroll through Napa and being a southern girl, we had to try it. Sunday after church about 4pm we opened the door and were greeted very generously by the owner himself. A very modern but comfortable layout with room for all your friends either indoors or outdoors. Staff were kind, helpful with selections and attentive to our needs. We wanted to try everything but this time around indulged in the following: Deviled Eggs, not my moms but absolutely delicious! Fried pickles chips, such a yummy snack, perfectly light and appetizing. We shared the cornbread and still had enough to bring home. It was almost as good as when I make it at home in my well seasoned cast iron skillet. The sweet butter was an added bonus though! Fried chicken meal w/ Brussels sprouts, beautifully fried, but too much to eat in one sitting. Brussels were cooked in their own skillet and topped with Parmesan cheese. Hard to go wrong there. Mashed potatoes n gravy were creamy and filling. I'm not a gravy girl, but the gravy was a delectable compliment. My husband had the greens, baby back ribs and brisket and enjoyed them all but wished there were more options for the bbq sauces. Much too full to have desserts, but we will next time when we return to try the Mac n cheese‼ And gotta say a sincere and gracious Thank You to Matthew who made us feel right at home and treated us with extended care! See you soon my fr

Yelp
What a great place for lunch, the chicken dinner is to die for cocktails plus the dessert good music and most of all there team, customers, and Owner are outstanding yes I will tell a friend.

Yelp
Customer service was great. I'm sorry kinders. I wish I had gone to you. I'll never stray off again. Outside we were swarmed by bees: I guess should have stayed inside the ice box. Meat was dry as hell.
google avatar

Yelp
Raised prices at Bottle Rock to take advantage of clientele, whom by the way - will never eat at your restaurant again.
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
Awesome food and service. Hands down the best fried chicken around. I can't wait to try their BBQ.

Sophia C.

Yelp
Sat on the lovely outside patio. Cornbread was amazing! We loved our entrees as well. Solid BBQ
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
The brisket and creamy coleslaw are absolutely my two favorite things to order from here. Oh and especially the artichoke! You can't go wrong with ordering from here. BBQ sauces are all flavorful and good sized portions. Service is attentive and quick.

Claire S.

Yelp
This place is so great! Just had Easter brunch there....omg...Bloody Mary was delicious! Also had a bagel with smoked salmon and fixings. Took home some cheddar/ham biscuits and tater tots. Loved it all!!! The gem of Main Street!!

Kenny R.

Yelp
I accidentally let the Q fall off my radar, what was I thinking! So good! The drinks were amazing, the music has always been second to none, and Kelly is always on it!!! kind beyond words! Ok, back to the food...vinegar chicken always a fan favorite, shrimp, chicken soup and artichoke dip-DELICIOUS ! Expanded menu for sure and a great vibe- packed on a Tuesday!

Emily B.

Yelp
Had a blackened fish sandwich and fries for take-out. Food was delicious and a very large portion. Fries were extra crispy just like a like them. Customer service was helpful and friendly. If I had to pick at all I would say please cut the core out of the tomato as no one wants to chomp on that.

Yelp
The food was good but our waitress didn't seem to care about her job. We ordered and she forgot all the meals for our kids. She didn't offer anything for the kids like paper or crayons. We picked this place because it said kid friendly. We got there and didn't get any food for at least 45 min after we got there. That wasn't even our main dish's we got. Which is why our kids got antsy .It wasn't really busy since we came in early. I do have to say our Buser was amazing . He was working hard. Since we had a big group our waitress got gratuity so I guess that's why she didn't care. This is getting a 3 start because of the food and the buser. The waitress gets this place a negative -2 because of forgetting food not getting our drinks till after we sat there with our kids for 15 min. We had to ask the Buser for drinks.
google avatar

Katrina G.

Yelp
Looking for a dinner spot, we found the Q on Yelp and booked a reservation on Open Table for about 30 minutes later that evening. It wasn't busy when we arrived (about 5:45 on a Saturday) but started to fill up throughout the night. Our hostess sat us at a nice table towards the front and was super friendly. I also chatted with her a bit and learned the Q formerly had a location by the outlets and moved here when Gran Electrica closed. We started with tap water and a mexican coke. Kind of odd-- they had fountain soda of 7up and Diet Coke, but only bottled regular coke. For our meals, my partner ordered the fried chicken dinner. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich (coleslaw on the side.) We also ordered a shared side of cornbread and mac and cheese. My partner loved his dish! My pulled pork was okay. It was a little dry and the bun was a little burnt on the inside, but overall decent. Not super flavorful, so I did add the sauces on the table. They weren't labeled, so I tasted all 3 to get a sense what they were. One was more of a vinegary sauce. One was a spicy bbq, and one was a sweet bbq. Even the bbq's had a vinegary taste-- which was actually really delicious. For the sides, we loved the mac and cheese. The breadcrumbs gave it a little extra texture and the dish was so creamy and scrumptious. The cornbread was just okay. It was very dense and dry. It came with honey butter, which helped with the dryness. However, overall, it fell short. The service was friendly and prompt-- with seemingly all staff members waiting on our table and helping us throughout the meal. I would go back--but would try another dish.

Yelp
Very fast and professional service. The restaurant has a chill vibe. The food is good. It does need more seasoning.

Yelp
The menu selections are bountiful! Full bar as well! Tuesdays for lunch and dinner are a bit slower so great time to go! 'Had the Cobb salad and the tortilla soup for lunch today - BOTH jam packed with tasty and fresh ingredients and I barely finished it all! Be sure to try their killer Pho with the brisket! A great item especially in the cold weather! Cheers M8's!

Yelp
Stopped after wine tasting. My friend and I shared an order of fried pickles. I had their smoked chicken sandwich and she had the pulled pork. Everything was delicious!! Highly recommended if you are in the Napa area. We didn't have the fried chicken, but rumors are they do a good one! Service was quick and friendly, tables inside spaced out and the outdoor area is shielded from the parking lot by bamboo barriers. Very cute.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Walking around beautiful downtown Napa, we were looking for place to eat, other than the options at Oxbow Market. As we were walking and perusing Yelp for a place to eat, a nice gentleman asked if he could help. I told him we were looking for a restaurant that had barbecue. He recommended, the Q restaurant, which was just a couple blocks away. To get to the point, the restaurant had nice ambience (great music), clean, and modern, excellent service, and a nice outdoors eating area in the back. Unfortunately, the food was just average. My tri-tip sandwich was just, mehhh... shoestring fries just very average. My wife had the free range chicken. She said it was kind of dry and not very tasteful. Also disappointing was the salad. Coleslaw with a vinaigrette dressing. She said it was not very good and much too tangy in taste for that type of salad. Will not be going back, wish we had chosen another restaurant,...

Sheryl M.

Yelp
The staff here is super friendly and down to earth. I was greeted immediately in a warm inviting tone. In regard to my food/drink review, let me start by saying the happy hour (M-F, 4-6) has drinks half off! Yup, all drinks, including bottles, half off! In viewing the list, the wines are already reasonably priced. Half off is BOMB! I had the pulled pork sandwich which came with a butter lettuce salad. Omg! The dressing on the salad was spectacular! So tangy and tasty. The pulled pork was good too. It can with cole slaw and bbq sauce. I'd suggest specifying spicy or mild when ordering. I didn't and they put mild. No biggie, I put spicy in too! I will be back. UPDATE: The New Bird In Town! WOW! The Q offered a special Vietnamese fried chicken, with a vegetable noodle salad. They also whipped up Asian sticky ribs. WOW, those ribs. It is the next morning and I can't stop thinking of them. We love the pepper slaw so we ordered that as an additional side. The full rack, full bird and two sides fed 4 hungry adults with one piece of chicken and one rib left behind. When they offer it again, GET IT.

Top M.

Yelp
Been going for years, fav is pulled pork with butter lettuce salad..lots of mild BBQ sauce. Yummm.

Yelp
Went here for my moms 48th birthday dinner. It was very nice on the inside. The service was great although my mom was overcharged. The food was excellent.

Yelp
This was such a great little restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. There wasn't to many people and the staff was great. The food was excellent! We had already ordered so much but my husband wanted a side of ribs the owner was so nice he brought us a complimentary order. They were absolutely delicious fall off the bone. The cornbread was nice a soft with buttery crisp edges. The fried chicken was fried to perfection and flavorful. The only thing I wish I would have done was asked for my salad dressing on the side only because I didn't finish it and it will probably be soggy later. Great place great vide!

ELIZABETH P.

Yelp
Everything about this place is great from the minute we walked in to the service and the delicious food.I had the fried chicken dinner and my husband the ribs and brisket dinner. The cornbread is one of the best .Will definitely go back here.

Yelp
Got food delivered. Corn bread kinda dry. Honey butter was good. Chicken sandwich nothing to write home about. Horrible Mac n cheese. Too expensive to be mid.

Yelp
Too many flies inside restaurant. Literally 20 flies buzzing around our table. Made it difficult to enjoy meal.

Yelp
First visit, but definitely not the last! The staff were all welcoming and smiling. We had planned to eat at a restaurant up the street, but the server who sat us was very negative. I made a reservation at Q for ten minutes later. From the time we walked in, we felt appreciated! We were given a taste of two wines to make our decision. They do have a nice moderately priced wine list! Trace, our server was always upbeat and on top of our table. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer.... Phenomenal and not greasy! Then main dish of BBQ for two, accompanied with Asian slaw. I was able to pick out a piece of Bourbon Chocolate pecan pie for my birthday desert. The wine we chose was a Bordeaux for under $40. Great food, great service, great wine! Thank you!

Yelp
Great Happy Hours are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. So when I find one that is truly deserving of accolades it gets 5 stars. I've seen the whining about The Q being in a strip mall. So what? If you want vineyard side dining get in your car and drive north 20 minutes, then increase your tab by 50%. I've seen the whining about not allowing service dogs inside, by patrons who bring multiple PETS masquerading as service animals. As someone who worked in the hospitality business for 35 years, I know the type well. Yet, my wife and I just experienced a meal one table away from a mother, son and an extremely well behaved dog who was provided a bowl of water. No issue there... I'm posting to say The Q is well worth your consideration. The staff has always been kind, polite and very helpful during the 6 to 10 times we've dined there. The bartender is a gem who knows how to invent concoctions like the Judas Priest and the Porch Swing, drinks so delicious you want to reverse engineer them but can never quite find the right juju at home. The servers have always been very enjoyable and attentive to our needs. They bring a smile to our face when they greet us and they are considerate of COVID concerns by always properly wearing their masks in order to protect their guests, even outside. Then there is the food. The Happy Hour menu currently offers only 3 items, but that's all you need when they are this good! I'm a grill master, but their Asian sticky ribs are to die for, with the sauce capturing the perfect balance of umami and 5 spice. Their fish tacos, my wife's favorite, are among the best I've found in the valley. The chicken nachos are no average plate of chips and cheese. You get a mountain of chicken, cheese, chips, crema, quacamole and salsa mixed in. If you are wondering about The Q, check 'em out. You won't be disappointed!
