Google
had a company event here and it was great. All the old video games and pin ball machines were so much fun. The pizza and garlic bread were very good. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I'm from out of town and got to enjoy a private event at the Quarter Barrel. The food was fabulous and the staff were really nice. I particularly enjoyed their pinball options and the chips and dip they served (the pizzas, salads, and other foods were also great)!

Google
This place is amazing, the food is amazing (I recommend the bowser pizza) there is some nice games my favorite being probobaly NFL blitz and dig dug. And the girl serving us was trying her absolute best to server everyone props to her 👏.

Google
Impeccably clean, the bartender on shift was wonderfully attentive, and the pinball (for the machines I played) were responsive and a treat to play. Was very excited to see a baby pacman. The wild ale was delicious. Roomy dining area. Food was pretty good!!! Easy (cheap) hourly parking also.

Met up with some family for an afternoon of pizza and video games. So many retro games and pinball to play. They brew their own beer and it was super tasty. Family friendly

I called in an order for dinner on a Sunday evening around 4 pm. They told me about 30 minutes to be ready. I ordered the crab rangoonie pizza, garlic cheese sticks, and fried ravioli. I picked it up and brought it home, about 5 blocks. When I got home, all the food was pretty cool. The food was cool, not very hot, though not cold. I think the food was done way quicker than the 30 minutes. The place is very cool, with all kinds of retro games, pinball and the people are very nice and helpful. It's definitely a cool place to hang out. As far as the food I ordered, it was ok. All the things I ordered didn't have much flavor. The cheesy garlic sticks had barely any garlic flavor and the Parmesan cheese was of the bottled variety as it had clumps of it. On both the pizza and the sticks, the cheese didn't get all the way to edges. The ravioli was standard premade frozen appetizer. The pizza was ok, the most flavorful thing on it was the sweet chili drizzle and the fried wonton strips. Overall the food was ok, but a bit bland. The overall bill was $44.xx So I probably wouldn't order from here again unless I was there, drinking and it would probably only be appetizers. The ppl and atmosphere are excellent though.

Google
We had a great time here this evening! We are currently road tripping from Ohio and were looking for something that would be fun for us and also our five year old. Our daughter absolutely loved the arcade games, of course, and we all loved the food. We got a Bowser pizza and it had the perfect amount of spice. We also got the Princess Peach dessert pizza, which was very tasty. Between my husband and I, we tried three different QB beers and enjoyed all of them. Service was great! It wasn’t too crazy when we got there around 5, but was packed when we left. Our daughter asked if we could “plllllleeeeease” come back — and we certainly will if we are ever in Cedar Rapids again!

Google
Stopped on our way through the area, and sure glad we did! Different kind of place but perfect for the nerdy folk, brewery folk, nostalgia gaming or just good food! Okay so pretty much everyone I still dream of that Crab Rangoonies pizza 🤤

Yelp
Love a good arcade bar. The pizza isn't my favorite, but it's decent for the price and The Quarter Barrels ambiance and vibe is what people come there for. I didn't get a chance to try out their signature brews but the menu was extensive and varied, so I'm excited to come back. Located conveniently on 2nd Ave, its a great place to let your kids roam while you enjoy the local beer and vibe. The games are fun for adults too, and are one of the only things left that haven't been impacted by inflation. Old school pinball machines and a variety of other games to choose from in between your drinks or even as you eat. Loved the corned beef pizza - a st. pattys day special

Yelp
The arcade games were a fun experience. I was thrilled by the amount of vegetarian options! We got the Bowser Jr pizza which had vegan pepperoni, seitan sausage and tempeh. It was very good and something we haven't seen available anywhere else. They had a very large group come in, so service was understandably a little slower, but we were in no rush especially with the games to keep us busy. Fun decor & just good vibes.

Yelp
One important thing with the arcade games is to know you need cash to get tokens out. We did a date night here and then a movie. The games were fun and you could do for an hour or so. There are about 20 machines and a few 2 player games. A few machines needed a little work (Kong game never began but money didn't return, the racing game doesn't let you select a track like it says). The food looked ok, but we went a few blocks for pizza. Overall, an ok place but some needed game upkeep.

Yelp
Turns out our kids love this place so much they coined it "a tradition" when we visit our CR friends! Each time we've been, food is good, service is quick and polite and the kids love the games! We had mostly appetizers and a pizza and everything was delicious! I swiped one of the Mac and cheese balls from the youngest teen and almost ordered more! TVs always have 80's movies and we love how the games are always working - nothing broken!

Yelp
Lots of vibe here. Loads of pinball and arcade games (will list some of the games at end of review). Very noisy but perfect for families. Very friendly staff. I had their house stout beer which was great. Three of us shared a large pizza and a starter. There was enough for leftovers. Not bad pizza considering. Nice crust. A little cheesy and not fresh ingredients but not terrible. The starter of Brussels sprouts with bacon and maple syrup made me love Brussel sprouts which is a massive accomplishment! They serve food on plastic type cutlery and you get sachets of Parmesan and chillies. So it's that kind of vibe. It's mostly the arcade and pinball games that will bring me back. For those who love pinball note that they are set on very sensitive Tilt levels! Games were: pinball - Batman's and Robin, The Shadow, Les Zeppelin, Simpsons and a few others. Arcade - CLASSIC games - Elevator Action, Ms Pacman, Frogger, Kong, Morral Combat, Moonbuggy, Robocop, Tron, Pole Position, Burger Time, Arxanoid so many others not listed here. If you like classic games, this place is for you.

Yelp
Love the 80s atmosphere from The Princess Bride to War Games playing on the tvs, the 80s arcade, and pinball machines, to the menu referencing 80s nostalgia. The pizza is good and not greasy like some restaurants. The pasta dishes were delicious as well. The craft beer was very good. Found a favorite in the Recon.

Yelp
The Quarter Barrel is lots of fun if you like arcade games. They have lots of them, many of which are classic arcade games from the 1980's (mostly) but they also have games from the 70's and 90's. Just to name a few; Asteroids, Missile Command, Elevator Action, Frogger, Ninja Turtles, and about twenty others. They have a complete list on their web page. Also worth noting is that these games are very reasonably priced. Most can be played for a quarter (almost unheard of these days). Others are fifty cents. Now on to the food; we tried a few things. I would say that their best food is pizza. We got a "Taco Kid" pizza, which uses a black bean sauce and the typical "taco pizza" toppings. The chef has a trick which makes the crust taste like it was cooked in a brick oven, even though it isn't. I was sure that it was so I asked the waitress about it. She said that it was a regular oven but that the cook made it taste like it was cooked in a brick oven. They have several different pizzas and you can even build your own. We also tried the Filipino egg rolls and the pretzel bites. The egg rolls were quite different from Chinese egg rolls. They are long and thin and the meat tasted like maybe it was hamburger. They were quite good. The pretzel bites were also good. Our friend ordered a sandwich and french fries. The fries were overcooked. I tried one and it wasn't very tasty. So, I wouldn't recommend those. I didn't eat any of the sandwich but it didn't look too good either. Our friend picked off a lot of veggies that she didn't want to eat. She got the "Andre the Giant" Sandwich. It looked a bit small for a $15 sandwich. They also have nine different types beer you can order and a variety pack that gets you four different beers.

Yelp
What a fun place to go hang out! We came here to celebrate my BFF's daughter's 18th birthday. We reserved several tables for about 35 people and ordered 12 different types of pizzas for everyone to eat. The pizzas were all thin crust and all pretty tasty! They have a large selection of beer and ale, which many are brewed in house! It And of course they offer a variety of fountain soda that are all Pepsi products. What got me most excited was the games! So many old school, vintage video games and pinball machines! They had Donkey Kong Jr, Galaga, Centipede, Ms. Pac Man, and so many many more! It was a classic game video gamers dream! And they all were the original $.25, $.50 machines! I believe they may have had a few newer games that may have cost more, but I was most interested in one of my all time favorites, DIG DUG! They not only had it there, but it was the freebie video game that they were offering that day!!! Yes! It was FREE! I'm not sure how they choose or when they choose the free play game, but always look for the small FREE PLAY placard that they place on the machine first! I had already put in my quarters to begin playing before I saw the sign and the machine does not give you back your quarters!!! I didn't mind though, since I would have put the quarters in there anyway. I was surprised not to see FROGGER or TETRIS, maybe the owner might see this and decide to add those next!! I had to take away a star for the slow service and the mistakes made on our orders. We even called a few hours ahead to make sure that they had the order correct and to be sure they would be ready for us. One of the mistakes could have been huge, since one of the guests is highly allergic to gluten! But it was discovered early enough that it corrected before anyone took a bite! This is a great place to take the family or to meet up and hang out with friends. Just keep in mind that after 9 pm it does become an over 21 years old spot. So, if your going to take the young kids, bring them earlier in the afternoon. We will be back!

Yelp
The atmosphere of Quarter Barrel is very techno-fantasy with all of the video games inside, that anyone can play. I enjoyed some delicious gluten-free pizza and craft beer while meeting up with a group of friends. The brewery was pretty busy at the time, so the service was understandably slow, considering there were only two waitresses on duty. The waitress that came to our table was very kind, but I just wish she could've come by our table more often to fill our water cups. It was kind of like dinner and a show when the waitresses got into a fight in the middle of the brewery yelling and cussing at each other and eventually, they went to the back where it appeared like they worked out their issues and then came out and continued about doing their duties for their tables that they had been waiting on. Great place for good pizza. Edit to Review to answer comment: to answer your question it was about a month ago that we visited and it was a meet-up that I was having with friends at 5:30 p.m. on a weekday. The waitress that helped us had red hair and the one that she was being yelled at by was a tall dark-haired waitress.

Yelp
The pizza was solid. The games were fun. It's a great big space. The beers were decent. It wasn't packed. Overall, it was a good place to hangout!

Yelp
I visited Quarter Barrel for a staff bonding event with my coworkers. It was my first visit, but about half the group had been here previously and I got the impression my boss was something of a regular. He had reserved a table in advance of our outing, which is good because the place was packed when we showed up at 7pm on a Saturday evening. There's a lot more seating than I expected, but it was a pretty tight fit. There are, of course, quite a few arcade games to choose from and all appear to be in good working condition, which honestly surprised me. I didn't end up playing any games - not really my thing - but the food was pretty good. We had one of just about every appetizer on the menu followed by burgers and pizza. The consensus seemed to be the pizzas were under sauced while the burgers were right on point. Service was a little slow, but it looked like it was just one server and a bartender. Everyone's order was accurate and our server kept drinks coming so I definitely give her props. I'm not sure I'd return on my own, but I enjoyed my visit and wouldn't complain if another group outing brought me back.

Yelp
4 words. Buffalo Chicken, beer, Gallaga. More words. This place is a triple threat and I fear for my bank account. Good food, good beer and games. What more could I want!

Maddie W.

Yelp
If you feel like hanging out and playing some retro arcade games this place will be perfect. if you love the sound of screaming children hogging up and greasing the arcade games. Service was terrible and the waitress checked on my table once to take the order. My drinks were empty for an hour while the server was just socialising and sitting at the bar talking to someone. We had no idea who our waitress was since they weren't even that helpful. We had a plate full of dirty dishes that were never taken but other tables were cleaned. We were there for about an hour and no plates were. The prices were at least decent for what you're getting, but there needs to be more description of what's in the food. I never would've thought "cheese dip served with local bread" would be filled with a pound of garlic powder and onions with a random meat. The arcade is fun if it's not busy, and the food is decent depending on what you get. The Big Chipper looks like a plate of diabetes but it's good to say the least.

Yelp
Great selection of beverages, neat format with probably 30 classic functional arcade games and a dozen pinball machines. Pretty excellent game themed pizzas are most of the menu with some more modern pub appetizers. Enjoyed a Luigi and a Koopa. Pricing is very reasonable, cool place to check out. Had a large party and they kept the place open after hours for us.

Yelp
The pizza here is not a wow you item. They do have some tasty apps and Sammy's though. They have an area of old arcade games that kids might like. They have some craft beer for the parents. Parking can be tricky and like many places they are experiencing a shortage of staff, be patient and kind, they are doing the best they can.

Jill M.

Yelp
Our baseball team went here after a day of games. Called to head to make sure they could handle a group of 35 which some places don't even want to try. We arrived and Hannah was waiting for us outside and let us know where we could park. Old school arcade. The dads were really happy and some were like teenage boys again. Everyone's food was good and the bill was reasonable for just 2 of us. Everyone had a great time and Hannah was the best! Somehow by the end she knew everybody's number and which boy went with which parents. It was great! Highly recommend! A great time was had by all!

Yelp
I have to reduce my rating by one star. On a return trip I had hoped to order something special, and the pork sandwich that was described sounded like just the thing. They had all of the ingredients except the bread. Major letdown. Ordered the Margherita pizza and a small house salad. The citrus vinaigrette dressing was kind of bitter, not a fan of that one. The pizza, while well cooked was lacking due to the strength of the balsamic reduction drizzle. It overpowered the other flavorings of the pizza. Oh well, live and learn. Only one server on duty, so the service was not top notch, but certainly acceptable. Be aware that if you bring kids they might have some TV movies playing that contain nudity. And this was at 6pm, that's not acceptable if you want families to dine there. And one other TV had some adult situations playing. Not good.

Cameron B.

Yelp
Great pizza options. The arcade games are also quite classic and fun to play, fun for the whole family. Service was spread thin but I didn't mind, I am a patient guy and had nowhere to be after. Will definitely be going back!

Yelp
My wife and I went to The Quarter Barrel for the first time on Saturday night. The place was packed, but we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. This place is very kid friendly, and there was even a birthday party while we were there. Due to this, it was noisy, but my wife and I are very chill so we didn't mind. The Quarter Barrel brews their own beer, and at the suggestion of the bartender I ordered a Honoré. It was a tasty beverage, with a bit of spice. It came in at a whopping 7.2% ABV, so I chose to drink just one. My wife went for a German Hefeweizen, which she enjoyed. For our meal, we ordered the Holy Shiitake! pizza and some parmesan truffle fries. The pizza was superb. The crust was crispy, but not overdone. The toppings were plentiful, but not overwhelming. The subtle flavor of the pizza tasted better with each bite. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with our fries. They weren't bad, but the fries were slightly soggy. They also seemed a bit one note with the garlic. Maybe a Sriracha ranch dipping sauce would have enhanced the flavors. The highlight of the evening were the vast array of old-school arcade games. The games we played were either free or 25 cents. I was absolutely delighted to play "Burger Time", a favorite from my childhood. My wife got into the game as well, and both made it the 3rd level. BOOM! Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would likely come back for another Holy Shiitake next time we are in the area.

Yelp
What a fun vibe!! This was the perfect spot for a first date. The menu has so many great veg options. We shared the hummus and a toadstool pizza. Both were delicious! They have an impressive beer list too - I had the Isidore hazy IPA. I highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
Quarter barrel is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. We had visitors in town with their kiddo and Quarter Barrel kept her entertained with plenty of games to choose from. Although who am I kidding, all the adults were entertained too. They were slinging pizzas that smelled and looked amazing although we didn't try any. So grab some quarters for the kiddos (and adults), sip on a beer and try your luck at your favorite arcade game.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
Our family ate here as this seemed to be one of the only places open on Sunday of memorial day weekend. It bills itself as a brewery but then there are arcade pinball machines everywhere and a restaurant. I tried the Malfest and gave it a 5 on untapped. They had no peanut butter. The food was alright. Was not wowed. Need skee ball and more variety for arcade games.
google avatar

Samantha J.

Yelp
Cool brewery/arcade. The food was really good. I loved the poutine! Nice portions. The beer was great. I got the Isidore and my boyfriend got the Blackstock and said it was excellent. I liked the arcade games! They have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game from way back and it was as awesome as I remembered. Highly recommended!!
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Service was poor, enough to not want to return; even though pizza was actually pretty good. To be fair, they were short staffed. Can not recommend.

Ben R.

Yelp
Spacious barcade with great beer selection, delicious pizza, decent game selection, very friendly staff, and reasonable prices. I played about five pinball tables and arcade games, and all were in great shape other than Pole Position, which has a messed up screen. I'd just suggest removing a table or two near the window to make room for more games. Also maybe stay open a little later on weekends. Will definitely return here.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Love this place. I must have came in with a couple rolls of quarters but they were gone by the time I got my poutine and Buffalo chicken pizza, which were amazing and I would highly recommend trying them. Every time I'm in Cedar Rapids, I have to stop by here. Service was excellent and servers were on top of the refills. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Linzi F.

Yelp
Pizza and Games how you go wrong. This is a Family friendly place. Drag out those quarters from your car and be prepared to have a good time. Parking can be hard to come by but don't let that ruin your fun
google avatar

Lori C.

Yelp
I was looking for a fun place to take my granddaughter and gave it a try. The service was very good. Fast and friendly. We both chose pizza. I had the buffalo chicken. It comes with blue cheese slaw which really adds to it. The downside was that there was not a lot of chicken and it seemed to be clustered on one area with a lot of slices not having any and if the slaw was chopped a little finer it would be easier to eat. 4 inch skies of cabbage ate kind of hard to handle on a pizza. Lorianna loved the cheese pizza. She had a great time playing the video games after figuring out the differences between them and the computer games she plays now. I loved that they're still 25 cents and $3.00 kept her busy for a long time. We had pop, but there was a very nice beer selection available. The only downside was, there were a couple of younger kids birthday parties going on with lots of toddlers running around and quite noisy. Don't get me wrong, I love kids and have no problem with them in restaurants, however The games here are too old for little ones and it was chaotic. I would advise kids be at least 6 to really get the games and enjoy them

Jeanne C.

Yelp
Limited menu but what they have is above average for pub food. Our waitress was exceptional even business started picking up. (We we there early and with kids.). Definitely will be back or order home for their really great pizza!
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
Cool look but my beer smelled... bad. Like the taps don't get cleaned. And the menu was very limited. I got the only sandwich on the menu that had meat and wasn't a meatball sub. $14 for a greasy Italian sub with a side of soggy fries cooked with burnt oil. Cool place just make a simpler menu, put a dang chicken sandwich on there, change your fryer oil and make sure your beer is taken care of.
google avatar

F A.

Yelp
One of the best places in town. Not only fun but the owners care and are attentive to what's going on. Keep up the good work. Great game selection and really good pizza
google avatar

Phil P.

Yelp
Beer, arcade games, and pizza! They must have a dozen beers on tap, and an insane collection of canned and bottled favorites. The pizza we had was and is unlike anything local. Very distinct flavors and all the toppings you could ask for. Here on a Saturday night and the place was filling up fast. Hoist a cold one and challenge your friends!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
Food was delicious and really fresh/hot, atmosphere was fun, loud and active (not a bad thing) and service was decent. I wish our server was a touch more conversational/enthusiastic about the menu neither here nor there, we will go back! Lots of great food choices and tons of classic arcade games!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
I have been to Quarter Barrel several times, and checked them out this week for Veg Week. I had the Far East Bound & Down pizza (red curry, purple cauliflower, peppers, shiitake mushrooms, vegan mozzarella) and it was SO GOOD! I was a bit leery about the curry and peppers... but the pizza was full of flavor and not spicy. I also tried the Filipino egg rolls... I hadn't had egg rolls in years and they were excellent. One of the owners told me that all vegetables were locally grown! Farm-to-table egg rolls... love it! The Quarter Barrel regular menu has vegan options, too Come for the innovative, tasty food... and stay for the arcade games, home-brewed craft beers, and fun!
google avatar

Fritz D.

Yelp
If you have any measurable amount of fun in you, you need to come here!! This place is f'n mint. The service here is.... well... the most friendly I have experienced in this area by 10 fold. Craft beer, classic arcade games. These games cost to play is the same as it was in the 80's and early 90's!! Simply incredible for someone to have a business that serves a purpose in this era. Their taps are cold, glasses are clean. Food is fast and tasty. If you don't enjoy this place you simply need to open up and just relax. Life doesn't have to be so linear. Live long and prosper.
google avatar

Sandy X.

Yelp
This place was okay, so far.. Service was slow and not really attentive for a slow weekday night. It has great space and the decor was fun and retro. I'm not really a fan of some of the pizza flavors, one lacked flavor, although the crust was pretty good. I think this place has good potential for the city. I do want to come back and try more of their menu and I heard the brunch was good. Give this place a try and support local.
google avatar

Lacey H.

Yelp
First time here and my 10 year old son chose this place out of many in the area. We came for the video games and pizza. We ordered garlic cheese bread and a 1/2 pepperoni - 1/2 pepperoni Italian sausage pizza. The items ordered were hot and fresh, but I personally did not like the garlic flavored crust on both items. It is too much garlic for my taste. I would prefer a normal crust as I loved it's consistency and the way it baked up. There are quite a few folks that would absolutely love this style and taste of crust so I give this review 4 stars. Presentation was great. Restaurant was clean. Video games clean and working. Next visit I will try the flight of beer along with a different menu item that does not include crust. I am not giving up on this place. It was fun and filled with all ages of guests. I felt welcome and you will too! Give it a try!!

Yelp
I've tried Quarter Barrel out a number of times: for arcade games with friends, for dinner, and for a drink at the bar. Every single time I go to there, it's good--not great. The bad: food is overpriced and portions are very small! Bartenders are either totally overbearing (borderline inappropriate at times), or too-cool-for-school and somewhat inattentive. There's been no in-between when I've gone here. Same goes for the crowd there: either the place is totally packed, or it's dead. The good: the atmosphere is great, arcade games are a fun addition to a night out with friends, cocktails are generously poured and tasty, their tap beer selection is solid. The staff, while imperfect, seems knowledgeable and happy be working there. I definitely recommend this place if you're bar-hopping in Downtown CR with friends. I don't recommend going here for a meal though: you can just get tastier and more fairly-priced food someplace else Downtown.

Yelp
TLDR: Barcade in Cedar Rapids with a few good games. I have high expectations when it comes to barcades, and this didn't do the trick for me. We played two games of NFL Blitz, and it set us back $8. That seems like a steep price to pay when games are free at other spots, but they successfully got my money. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again.

Yelp
I ordered 5 pizzas and they were mostly crust the toppings didn't even go out to the edges. There was about 3" of crust on the edges maybe more in some places and the toppings were so scrimpy and thin it was all crust on the thinnest crust pizza I have ever ate. The cheap frozen crust pizza crust is thicker. Nobody wanted to eat it. I threw away 4 of them. Definitely cost way more than it's worth. So the owner sent me a message wanting to know when I was in so he could pick apart my negative review and be defensive like he had others rather than focusing on the quality of the product and the customers satisfaction. AND THE PIZZAS WERE BURNT I TOOK A COUPLE PICS. I guess this is how his 3 best chefs cook. The owner was very pretentious and rude. Stay away from this establishment. This is the message he sent me: Christopher E: Business Owner Admittedly, I am bewildered by your review, but even more so by the antagonistic tone of your response. Do you think that I would be out of line to publicly defend the business that my wife and I have invested every last dime of ours into, spend every waking hour working on, and are, actually, very proud of? Yes, I am inclined to disagree with your review. We had our 3 best chefs working in the kitchen over lunch on Friday. And if this is the order that I believe it is, our kitchen manager personally boxed up your pizza for you. He is a stickler for quality, and if the pizzas were anything less than his demanding expectations, they would have been remade. Perhaps this is a matter of misaligned expectations. Perhaps you were unfamiliar with the style of pizza that we make. Perhaps it is a matter of our pizza not being intended for take-out. All that I can be confident in is that the pizzas were made with care in a deliberate manner by some of the most experienced pizza chefs in eastern Iowa. Do we get no points for service? I understand that our bartender carried the pizzas to you car. Do we get any mitigation for the Restaurant.com certificate that saved you $30? Do we get any leeway for your order being a take-out order? How about some appreciation for even letting you use the Restaurant.com certificate. The terms and conditions stipulate that it is valid for dine-in only. Or for accommodating you with 18" versions of our specialty pizzas--an option that is not on our printed menu because those pies were not designed to be scaled up. A 1-star review hurts my business. I put my everything into this business, so of course I'm going to get irritated when I think a reviewer is misguided or erroneous. I don't expect everybody to love our pizza. But to lambaste our food in terms of quality when it is really a matter of your personal preference is something I take great umbrage with.

Yelp
I was excited to find poutine in cedar rapids. A bit disappointed that the fries were cold and soggy to start and if you know poutine it's a race against the clock before the whole thing is cold mush. Starting out with cold soggy fries means the whole thing was a cold gelatin blob before we had very many bites. I wish I had taken a picture of my friends "fried pickles". In quotes because they were tiny fried gherkins!! Not big crisp dill pickle chips as you'd expect. Just odd and disappointing. Atmosphere was very fun and beer selection is good. They just need to get it together in the kitchen.

Yelp
Fantastic addition to CR! Amazing all around - thoughtful food from the open kitchen, great house brews and guest taps, and uber kid friendly with the '80s arcade and pinball. The black IPA they brew is amazing, as is the vegan sausage pizza (they make a conventional version too that also looks great)!

Yelp
I will definitely go back. They have vegan options and will work with you to make what you want. We had a delicious vegan pizza with balsamic glaze. They also have black bean burgers and jackfruit bbq sandwich with vegan slaw. Weekly specials looked tempting. Will be back.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday night which is probably the worst time to go. There was an overwhelming amount of noise and lots of kids. I suggest they install noise reducing tiles on the walls and ceilings. It was hard to hear my companions over the noise. Pretty much a chucky cheese environment. If you don't want to compete with kids for the arcade games, go later in the evening. The kids were pretty much gone by 8:30. We had thee pizzas, all were good. However our stuffed pepper appetizer was so full of green chilies that was all we could taste. Also, it was not served with enough bread to make a reasonable bite for the amount of stuffed chilies that was served. Probably a good place to take kids, but adults should wait for a later time in the evening.

Yelp
We brought our son here for his birthday dinner. We had been here before and enjoyed the curly fries and were excited to have him try them. We must of got the bottom of the barrel because they were like crumbs. The last time we were here we thought the pizzas tasted burnt but thought we would give it a try. Of coarse my sons came out burnt and mine as well. I am. It sure if the oven needs cleaned but they were awful. They were out of the beer my husband wanted to try and the waitress was not attentive we even had to wait for water and never offered us silverware had to ask for. We won't be back.

Yelp
Been wanting to stop in for quite some time now and finally had the opportunity over lunch today. I have to admit that my primary motivation was to relive my younger years and play some of the vintage video games, Galaga, Asteroids, Donkey Kong and of course Pac Man. I didn't set any high scores, but it was enjoyable playing these games again! Ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza which was reasonably tasty. Didn't have any of the beers they have on tap which are plentiful, maybe next time. I would highly recommend this place if you want to play the games and not be overly critical of the food, the more upscale eateries are a couple blocks down the road.

Yelp
I've been here a few times, and have always had a great experience. My husband tends to abandon me to play the nostalgic games, which is okay with me because I'll be at the bar sampling the house brews and appetizers. The beer they brew is great, and the food is wonderfully thoughtful. As a pure-bread Iowan who was raised on meat and potatoes, I know the owners are vegetarians and have influenced quite a bit of the menu. Let me tell you, they've done a wonderful job of making sure both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike are fully satisfied and leave happy! The bartenders are knowledgeable and you can tell everybody who works there has a passion for what they do!

Yelp
So allow me to start out by saying I had some very high hopes for this place. First strike: the problem here is that they have a fundamental lack of understanding of how to make that quintessential beercade environment. Like others have reported, there are LOADS of kids -- in a restaurant that has a very prominent bar, and when I visited did not have a working kitchen. Second strike: they have (or had) no tap beer, and if I'm going to drink from a bottle it'd better be really cool or in my own home these were rare craft beers they were slinging. So in light of this, I asked if the had a wine list. Bartender gestures to some open wine bottles behind him and says "we've got red or white" YIKES. I honestly wish I'd walked out then. Third strike: the machines. Half of them were out of commission in one way or another. I get it, game consoles like this and pinball machines are expensive. But they'd been open for about a week or two when I went. How could they have let them lapse into disrepair already? Additionally, the other beercades I've been to don't make you pay individually with quarters: they run on a tab basis. That means that you open a tab and then you can play games. If you don't meet the minimum tab requirement, you have to pay for your games. But that would require the design to be a bit more ordered. I really hope that they're able to shape up a bit as they adjust to being open. I know starting a business is hard, I will definitely give this place another try, but I was seriously disappointed.

Yelp
Y'all like old school arcade games and pinball? What about craft beer? How about pizza that tastes pretty good? Get yo self to Quarter Barrel. Don't forget to bring your round metal money. Huzzah!
