5 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in NYC - Eater NY

"Over the last couple of years, The Quarter on Hudson Street was one of the West Village’s favorite brunch spots, offering a generic menu of modern food that included omelets, chilaquiles, and chocolate chip pancakes." - Eater Staff

I really enjoyed the energy of this bar. We had a few simple drinks. There was a one man band that I was really impressed by. He brought a fun vibe that got plenty of people dancing and excited. We didn't have any food while there. It took us a while to find the spot. It was one of those bars that was in the mid section - not on the lower or the top lever. There is a door on the upper road. Look for the green light! See my photos to help you find it. It was challenging for us.

Bar had a fun vibe, live music, and a Bourbon Street live feed behind the bar, which is a fun touch. Seating was comfortable. As others have said, the bar staff kinda had a real attitude, but made a good drink! So it was fine. Kitchen is open late and the food really hits the spot. Drink prices are so-so. Overall enjoyable time!

We had such a lovely breakfast this morning at The Quarter, a jazz bar styled restaurant on the lower level of the New Orleans Hotel. There were so many New Orleans classics on the menu, but I just couldn't resist getting Biscuits and Gravy! The buttermilk biscuits were hot and fluffy and so tasty with the peppered gravy. Crisp hot bacon and a little hot tea, and I'm a happy girl. Our waitress was the sweetest, we chatted about our trip and turned out her husband, the chef, is from Florida, too. This feels like a real family establishment, like visiting friends for a good meal. Can't recommend it enough.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Atmosphere is phenomenal. Service was even better. Food was out of this world. Had breakfast here for our last day. Shrimp and grits and mascarpone stuffed French toast. The shrimp and grits was to die for. I can’t stop thinking about it. 10/10 recommend this spot! Such a vibe!

I bought a $50 ticket to the burlesque show, the power went out before the show and they did the show in near complete darkness with a cash only bar. I asked for a refund or rain check as it’s not the experience I signed up for, and the producer said they’re having the show so there wouldn’t be a refund. Prior to getting denied a refund/raincheck, I asked the front desk guy wearing a fedora if the bar was open and he just laughed at me. When I asked what was funny about the question, he said the power is out. (the bar actually was open but as mentioned, was cash only) I ended up going to the other burlesque show in town ($20) and had a great time

Have had breakfast here several times and have always been impressed. Food is outrageously delicious and portions are generous. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommend! Photo is of my stuffed French toast, grits and bacon. That French toast is so very delectable.

If attending the burlesque show at The Quarter, be aware that there are bad seats and the show caters to the bar area. So if you are tucked away in the sides, you won't see a thing and only know something is happening and should clap because the rest of the room is clapping. We watched a pillar the entire first half, bailed on the second half. It might be a good show, but I didn't see any of it.

We went to the Burlesque Show and it was top quality stuff. The MofC was amazing and all the girls were so very skilled and talented. It was tastefully done and very entertaining. Would recommend for sure

Yelp
Jessica made an EXCELLENT Espresso Martini. What a neat, small bar inside the hotel. Go check out their awesome cocktails.

Yelp
We were drawn into this place by the store front/lobby. Went to the upstairs bar and the bartender was less than friendly. She was bothered by the fact that I ordered a beer (on the board) that she hadn't stocked. I ordered a different beer (that she told me was the last one). Others (not with me and my wife) walked in and were given the same "friendly service". It was kind of bizarre. There were about 6 couples there having cocktails, but it was complete silence, because no one wanted to upset her. Beer and rum and coke east $16. Skip this place.

Yelp
The building is beautiful and the drinks were good, but the service was disappointing. We came in and looked at the menu, and since we had never been here before we were indecisive about what we wanted. This would have been a good opportunity for the bartender to ask us what we typically like, or give recommendations, especially since we were the only guests in the bar when we arrived. We ordered in turns and were waiting on a drink when other guests came in. She helped them and then came back to us, and said their order as well as ours back to us which confused us. None of us were sure if she was asking us for our the other orders or confirming what we had already ordered. Instead of trying to help us figure out what she was asking, she just moved on to making the drinks which is fine, but she seemed very annoyed. I understand our confusion was probably frustrating to her, but we were genuinely trying to figure out what she was asking and were met with zero hospitality. I came in with a group of girlfriends excited to kick off a good weekend, and we left here feeling bad about our interaction. We were really not trying to be difficult, and have had nothing but great interactions at nearby establishments. Maybe this bar would be fine for a party of one or two, but I would avoid it if you're coming with a group.

Yelp
What a fun place. The bartender is so friendly and helpful. We saw her offer to make reservations for a table for another restaurant....going out of her way to be helpful and accommodating, showing you dont have to stay here to be treated like family. We will definitely come back! We ordered top shelf margaritas, a Midnight Berry (it was ok, but pretty weak) and an absinthe frappe...lots of fun and quite tasty if you like black licorice.

Yelp
Good cocktails. Small but comfortable place. Nice bartenders. Inside the New Orleans hotel.

Yelp
We had the most amazing experience here. Not just the atmosphere, but the people, and the bartender Angela were awesome! We stayed way longer than we intended because she made the best drinks, she put up with our volume and chaos, and overall I was so happy when I left. Thanks so much for a fun evening!

Yelp
While I have to say that the old fashioned was delicious, the service was surly, slow, and rude. The atmosphere is fun.

Yelp
First, we had been walking trying to find a suitable place for light supper. We didn't want to drive away from downtown. As we were climbing one of those straight up stairways Eureka is famous for, a very nice gentleman behind us asked if we would like to come into a door marked "private ". He said it was a nice bar with good food. When we hesitated he told us he owned the bar and assured us the food would be good. We took him up on the offer. He was correct. The food was delicious. But better than that, the bartender, hostess was delightful. She handled an intoxicated patron with grace and diplomacy. We thank the gentleman warmly, and recommend this establishment. It is a very dark, intimate atmosphere.

Yelp
Beautiful area, very cool decor and relaxed ambiance. Feels like you've been swooped back in time. I want to clear up this confusion-There are two different bars attached to/ near the New Orleans Motel - Voodoo is right inside and the one down the stairs outside the building is called the "Quarter". Mentioning to make sure if looking up hours for these, you'll be searching the correct name. Highly recommend either of these!

Yelp
Cool hotel bar in the New Orleans. We went down for a pre dinner cocktail. The bar area is small but we grabbed a table right outside in the hall. (There were only two other couples there. ) We ordered at the bar. One of us wanted a daquiri but the bartender said that he he couldn't make it. He didn't offer any other suggestions. She ordered a coke. I ordered the Bees and Honey (note that almost every cocktail comes with absinthe---NOLA vibe and all). It was good but we were never asked if we needed another round or anything else. It was totally self-serve. For such an eclectic and great hotel, I wish bar service had been better. (The cocktail was good, though.)

Yelp
We were at the bar in the lobby of the hotel and it was lovely! Our bartender was great and my husband commented that it was one of the best Old Fashions he's ever had. Furthermore, our bartender recommended a band that was playing downstairs later in the evening, as well as restaurants in the area. We hope to be back!

Yelp
Tasty craft cocktails in a cool space. They don't have a mint julep on the menu but the bartender was able to make one which tasted perfect. The cucumber mint cocktail really great too

Yelp
This is a 6-star review. So, we got to Eureka fairly late and just wanted a good meal and find a place with a good cocktail. After dinner (The Grotto), we walked around trying to get the lay of the land and saw The New Orleans Hotel. We were just peaking inside and saw Voodoo Bar in the back of the lobby. I'm in. I thought the place was a little too empty for a Friday night, which put the red flags up. Good places are busy on Friday nights. Also, and I'll be the first to admit I should never judge on first impressions, the bartender didn't give me a confident feeling. Boy, was I wrong. Really interesting cocktail menu. The wife ordered The Voodoo Lady and I had a Sazarac. I love Sazaracs, but they're really hard to find outside of New Orleans. This one was perfect. That was my first mistake. I knew we'd be here every night we were in town. And we were. The second night the wife ordered the same...Voodoo Lady. Come to think of it, that's the only thing she's ever had here. The third night, same thing. Voodoo Lady for my lady, and...well, I honestly can't remember what I had. I know at some point in the weekend I had some Whiskey Sours (she really has a way with egg whites). I was prompted to order one after my wife finally let me taste her Voodoo Lady. That's the thickest and creamiest egg white cocktail I think I've ever had. The Bartender (with a capital B as she wowed us with her drinks) really spent the time to both dry shake the egg, and finish shake with ice. That makes a huge difference. I think I may have had a Manhattan or two as well. I'm glad this is a walking town. My only complaint. This place (and most places in town) close way too early for a weekend. Let the tourists stay up past our bedtime! But anyway, just go. If Brianna is tending bar you are in for a wonderful time.

Yelp
You will absolutely regret not going in and seeing Angela at The Voodoo Lounge at the New Orleans Hotel. This was the only place we visited twice during our 4 day trip and it's because of Angela and her amazing bartending skills and great conversations. She will also give some GREAT recommendations on places to eat! Terry the owner isn't half bad either.

Yelp
Jessica was such a great hostess and great bartender. Wish we had time to go back. She gave us a flight of Bentonville Brewery beers so we could decide and our cocktails were fantastic especially the finer Martini.

Yelp
Love this place and it's energy. Danny is the best! Creative drinks and fantastic service

Yelp
Coolest most unique bar. Best drinks because of homemade mixers and artistic touches. Wanted to try them all but recommend Birds and Bees, secret garden and pimms cup. My boyfriend was impressed with his dirty martini and he's hard to impress sometimes. Excellent bartender I can't remember her name.

Yelp
Cool atmosphere, apathetic bartender. We literally were discussing how hungry we were outside the door of the New Orleans hotel and an employee motioned to the lounge. We asked if they served food and he said they had great charcuterie boards and amazing drinks. So we went in, sat down, read our menus to make a selection, then went up to the bar to order cause they bartender does not come out from behind the bar, only to be told "yeah, we're out of charcuterie boards". Actually got the impression that he was happy about that cause he didn't have to work. He gave zero shits that people were leaving. It would actually be easier to list the people in this town who AREN'T rude or lazy. What has happened to Eureka Springs?

Stephen B.

Yelp
Really cute Bar in a great Hotel. The mixologist is a true artist. We enjoyed her Mocha Lavender Martini and the Scary Mary. Both were exceptional! A true hidden gem in downtown Eureka!

Adam J.

Yelp
Hidden gem if you are looking for tasty well made cocktails in Eureka Springs. Bartender was extremely friendly (I believe she may be the owner as well).
