My daughter and I love tea and we love girl time. So I thought it would be a fun day date for us to visit the Quirky Royal Tea Room. We were so glad we did. The owner was so friendly and helpful, had interesting conversation (like his cracked rib from a dolphin in the Caribbean) and was just enough cheeky, and 💯 Brit that gave off the authentic vibe we were hoping for. We had a great time, tea was hot and delish and then the food (especially the cucumber sandwiches) were tasty. Thank you so much, we will be back!

I've been to high tea at the English Rose Tea Room in Carefree, which is exquisitely decorated and serves great food, but when my girlfriend and I went looking on Yelp for a tea room near to where we live in Gilbert, the options were limited. The Quirky Royal Tea Room sounded cute and although we had reservations about the mediocre reviews of their food, we figured it would suffice for a birthday tea service, as our friend had never experienced high tea before. Never in our wildest dreams did we anticipate getting FOOD POISONING!! On December 14th, 2025 instead of it being a joyous birthday celebration, it unfortunately became a day to remember for all the wrong reasons. Halfway through our two-hour seating, after eating their tea sandwiches, I became violently ill, sweating profusely and developed severe stomach pains. I couldn't sit upright and could barely walk to the car. My friends made the decision to drive me to the ER at Mercy Gilbert Hospital where they diagnosed me with food poisoning. I also experienced vomiting and diarrhea. The stomach cramps lasted on and off for five days, forcing me to miss two Christmas parties. Five days later, our friend, the birthday girl, came down with severe stomach cramps too, and spent the weekend in the hospital. My girlfriend and I returned ten days later (with proof of a diagnosis of food poisoning from the hospital) to ask for our $130.00 back. As soon as that number came out of my mouth, the owner, a British man, became instantly nasty. At that point I informed him that I also had a $1,000 ER bill that I wasn’t even asking him to reimburse me for. He insisted there was no way I could have gotten food poisoning from his establishment, stating that it takes 24 hours for a foodborne germ to incubate, which is NOT the case. It can happen immediately, within 45 minutes as in my case, or as far as two weeks after ingesting something tainted, depending on whether it's viral or bacterial in nature. Looking back, there are indications that this business is struggling financially. The storefront is located in a strip mall with Good Will, and though they've been at this location for 18 months, they still haven't invested in signage, which can be expensive. The interior decor is also rather unfinished and consists mainly of Pepto Bismol pink walls, which aside from being a horrendous design choice, is a cheap fix, though it does serve as an omen of the food poisoning to come. And please tell me why the hostess, Robyn, was dressed in jeans and a tee shirt rather than a proper tea dress and hat, which is a bit disrespectful to the patrons who themselves dress up, as the fashion is part of a proper English tea, isn’t it? All of these tells, including the way he responded to me, are concerning, because when a business is in financial distress, they may serve food past its expiration date, or hold off on repairs to their refrigeration system, which may not adequately chill food. Next time I have doubts about going to a restaurant with questionable reviews, I'll trust my gut, so my poor gut doesn't have to suffer the consequences of eating tainted food.

Five friends and I met for a tea party today at the Quirky Royal Tea Room in Gilbert and had so much fun! Mark, the owner, should be a stand up comic! He kept us entertained every time he came by our table to check on us. The rest of his staff were friendly and efficient too. The food was really good and the teas were fabulous! We all especially loved the Blueberry Lavendar tea and Spinach Quiche. Oh, and the chocolate covered strawberries were to die for!! When we discovered that two in our group didn't get to try one ... because some of us ate more than our share ... Mark brought out more without hestiation! I've been to the best tea rooms in Mantattan, San Fran and Phoenix but the relaxed, fun atmosphere of the QRTR in Gilbert makes it my favorite! I will most definitely go back.

What a lovely place to bring friends and family, for an afternoon tea experience! The scones (a family recipe, rumored to have ties to Buckingham palace) are delectable, the Pudding Tea is a perfect pairing and did not disappoint (a new favorite, highly recommend). The ambience seems to be ever evolving into quite a quaint atmosphere, definitely an experience we will repeat on the future. Remember to make a reservation in advance, and have fun!

The service was fantastic from both Robin and Mark. I received my tea and food in a timely fashion and it was all delicious (authentic as well, coming from someone with a very English grandmother) Fellas if you have a girlfriend they will eat this up and you'll no doubt score another date. Its not appropriate to call this a restaurant, but rather, an experience. If you have any interest in an afternoon tea experience then this should be the go to!

I loved this experience! The staff was so welcoming and the teas were delicious. I loved the finger sandwich options and desserts. Everyone was super attentive and kind. We had a small group but it seems like a perfect spot for birthdays or events too. I forgot to take a pic until after we decimated our food, unfortunately, but the tea sets were so cute! Overall would absolutely do it again.

I had the absolute BEST time at Afternoon Tea at the Quirky Royal Tea Room at The Arizona Golf Resort yesterday. It's the cutest place with amazing treats, flavorful tea, and the best photo ops. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mark, and you could see the passion he had for his business. They just opened on Wednesday, so let's help make this small business a success!! I'll be going back with my niece's for a fun tea party. 10/10 recommend! Book your reservation now!

This is a little bit late, but I told the owner that I would definitely leave a review because we enjoyed ourselves so much! Let me say, Love this place! I visited with my mom and daughters, and we absolutely enjoyed it to the fullest. Their tea is incredible, and the scones and nibbles were just as delightful. The customer service was wonderful—we even got to meet the owner, who was so personable and welcoming. Our tea date happened to be during both a birthday party and a bridal shower, and everyone around us seemed to be having such a wonderful time, which added to the cheerful atmosphere. While they don’t have an enormous tea selection, what they do carry is truly excellent. It was my daughter’s birthday, and they surprised her with a sweet little gift. Their thoughtfulness and kindness meant so much to us, and my girls haven’t stopped talking about it since. For young girls to walk away with such a positive and lasting impression says it all. ❤️

We came for our monthly book club meeting and what a cute place! They had great tea options and we all loved the food towers. Service was very friendly, took pics for us and really went into detail about the teas.

Our reservations got cancelled & we had to go somewhere else last minute. I made reservations here for a surprise bridal shower 2 weeks ago. Called this morning to make sure our reservations were still good and I was told they don't have reservations after 2:30pm. Then why have that option on your website?? And why not call me back as soon as you see that reservation placed on your end? The only explanation I got was "well that's online". Lack of empathy and remorse from this place. The employee told me they were overbooked. We are now looking to book somewhere else last minute.

Came in as a walk-in. Place was empty except for 2 two tops. They weren't sure if they could fit us in. They are obviously new to the location as the decor and music leave something to be desired. My plate was dirty when I sat down. The food was okay... but nothing you couldn't make at home yourself. Tea was delicious but only made a few cups. Service was the best part however we waited awhile for our check. Altogether it cost $70 for two people to have tea, a little pricey. I don't think me or my guest will be back. Update: Thank you so much for your response. I believe you are right. This type of establishment would be much better suited for zero walk ins. I think having an online reservation system would help you drum up more business and avoid this problem in the future. Also I had no problem with the music choice but that it kept cutting out/not playing. Some other selections of music included the Bridgerton classical soundtrack as well. While you're right this place is not my "cup of tea". I think I was very fair in my review.

I decided to try this place for my birthday and it's fair. The service is okay. We were seated at a table and waited about 10 mins before we were served. While we waited we were not offered anything to drink. I had to ask for some water-it was tap water served in a plastic glass. I was taken aback by the plastic glass, it took away from the setting of the table. The snacks were okay. I was looking forward to the scones but they were not as good as I had expected. However, I will say the tea was very good and Our server was nice and friendly. The ambience was nice with pleasant instrumental music. Ultimately, Not sure if I'll go back again, but hope this review helps someone who's thinking of making reservations. Cheerio!

The service and food was great! Highly recommend the rose and hibiscus tea! The chocolate strawberries and macaroons were loved by my daughter.

I love things quirky and I am a fan of afternoon tea so I knew I had to try Quirky Tea Room out! I went with the kiddo, my friend who is also an afternoon tea fan and her daughter. We both opted for the Mommy and Me Tea, which is a smaller selection of goodies than the full afternoon tea. We were strongly advised by the host and the server that the full afternoon tea might be better since it had more sweets and sandwiches but I decided to go with a lighter meal. This worked out well since the kiddo was more interested in playing with her friend we were dining with and we had leftovers to take back. If you are coming hungry I do think that the full afternoon tea would be best though. The tea selection includes a selection of black, chai, and fruit herbal teas. If you are dining with a little one they can have an iced tea or hot chocolate if they don't want to share hot tea with you. I had the house blend and tried a cup of the pudding tea. The food came out fairly quickly and consisted of 2 scones, 2 petit fours, 2 macarons, 2 types of sandwiches (3 each), and 2 chocolate dipped strawberries. We shared the apple brie and cucumber cream cheese sandwiches which were both tasty and a decent portion. I liked the sweets too and no complaints from the tiny tyke! The first cup of the house blend tea tasted alright, although I couldn't really taste any of the cinnamon that the blend was supposed to have. I couldn't drink more than one cup though because the tea got successively more bitter as time passed. I liked the pudding tea a lot better. The aroma and flavor was very reminiscent of pudding. Service was very friendly and sweet. Splitting our bill was no problem. I'd love to come back and try the full afternoon tea!

Absolutely chuffed to bits as my Nanny would say! This exceeded all of my expectations of afternoon tea, and even rivals the various tearooms I've visited across England visiting family. I heard about this tearoom through Yelp, and I knew I had to try as it's only 7 miles from my house. What better way to do so, then to invite my cousin to partake in their Afternoon Tea for Two. With a peanut/treenut allergy, I knew I would need to reach out to inquire beforehand and Mark was very pleasant and happy to research the items to ensure a safe experience today. A couple reviews mentioned it was hard to locate, but we had no trouble as it is within the main building of the Golf Course (not the conference or banquet center). Signs made it easy to locate once in the lobby. From the minute we walked in, we fell in love with the decor. So much so that I'll easily be uploading 25+ photos as it is just stunning inside. Especially since every table has a different tea set and we were thrilled the owner came by to give us an explanation and history of the tea set we were using today. Heck, he even shared the recipe and process of the house made clotted cream. As he said, don't worry as we don't be making it due to the extensive process to make/cool/separate. Though with one bite, we are hooked and tempted to make ourselves. Be back soon to enjoy! Our waitress asked for our selection of the tea, and we advised to surprise us with a black tea and we were not disappointed! Mrs. Patmore's Pudding is a delightful dessert tea that complimented the sweet treats. We even discussed with our waitress about our love for earl Grey tea and later tried a small pot of Earl Greyer. Loved the selection of tea and will definitely be back even just for a quick cuppa with their delightful scones. As my auntie would say, it would be rude not to! It was truly an amazing experience with all the staff rotating around the tearoom, and even conversing about our quirky outfits to pay tribute to all our lovely Atkinson relatives past and present. Even loved the touch of my cousin bringing photos of our Nanny Sheila and Auntie Carol as we came in honor of them for their birthdays. Such a beautiful tearoom and quite honestly, I can't wait to come back! Thank you to the owner and the amazing staff for a beautiful experience, and I'll be telling everyone to pop on in for a cuppa or full afternoon tea experience.

Went on opening day of the new location in Gilbert. The room was really nicely set up and the tea sets were all beautiful. My friend and I shared a big teapot of apple caramel tea, but you can also get two small teapots of different teas if you prefer, as part of the Afternoon Tea for Two deal. They have both regular and decaf tea selections. The food was delicious. As part of the Afternoon Tea for Two, there were 4 different mini-sandwiches (3 of each kind, so 12 total - we had egg salad sandwiches, cucumber and cream cheese sandwiches, turkey and gouda sandwiches, and brie and apple sandwiches), and 2 quiches, then a tray of assorted desserts, and a tray with scones, clouted cream and jam. Our waitress, Robin, was fantastic. Very friendly, very attentive. We loved her. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. A bit of an adventure to find the bathroom - ask for directions or you will, like me, end up in the kitchen! The tea room is in a plaza, so plenty of parking around.

Excellent customer service and good variety of tea sandwiches and yummy bite size desserts. The teas were delicious with decaf options available. We tried the Mrs Potts tea and the peach tea. We celebrate my friend's little girl's bday. She was treated well! And they made her day special. We definitely will go back.

This place is so cute!! The food was INCREDIBLE, and the tea was perfectly selected. Service was so polite and it was a delight from start to finish. I cannot wait to come back!

Don't expect a big sign, flowery wallpaper, English bone china, or gluten free/vegan options. Still if you find the strip mall entrance, you will receive a generous portion of tea and crumpets. Macarons were very good as was the Quirky house blend tea. Attentive service.

Absolutely delighted with the experience at this tea room! The tea room is located in the main building of the golf resort and had clear signage to route us to the tea room once we entered the doors. And very specially, the Queen greeted us at the podium! From first impression, the tea room is elegantly decorated and inviting. The entire staff was super friendly and engaging. I love how personal the experience was as they shared their own stories and experiences as they related to us. Each table was set with a unique tea set which I thought added so much to the ambience. The owner shared a tidbit about the tea set at our table and I was thrilled when he gave the history of our 100+ year old set that is "haunted as hell" LOL. Very fitting for my family. Luckily our Nanny didn't pop in to cause one of us to break something so she could laugh at us. :) My cousin and I splurged on the Full Afternoon Tea for Two ($65 at the time of this review) in honor of our Nanny and Auntie Carol whose birthdays are around this time. My cousin does have a tree nut/peanut allergy so it can be difficult to find items safe for her to consume. She did reach out ahead of time to confirm this could be accommodated and the staff was happy to accommodate her allergies so we could avoid any issues during our visit. We started off the afternoon with Mrs. Patmore's Pudding (kindly selected by a staff member as we couldn't make our mind up with all the delicious tea selections offered). This was a delicious black tea with sweet undertones I may need to find to have on hand at home when I need a pick me up from a cuppa. The owner shared that the scones and clotted cream are house made (so awesome)! Absolutely delicious paired with the preserves. The tray also served assorted sweet treats, selection of 4 tea sandwiches, and quiches. We closed out the experience with a wee pot of Earl Greyer, a black tea with a fuller body, so good. It was so nice to have an afternoon shared with my cuz to celebrate our heritage and the memories of 2 very special people. The wonderful staff made it extra special. Thank you so much for a special time we will never forget.

My boyfriend brought me here for afternoon tea for my birthday and I am so glad we came! Great variety of sweets and savories to try, and the pudding tea was delicious! Mark was seriously amazing and made my birthday so special. He even threw in a pasty from Sonsons next door, and that and the sausage roll from there was really tasty, even reheated later. I can't wait to go back, will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

We came here for an early Mother's Day tea. It was very nice. The finger sandwich's were good - the cucumber and the apple/Brie were excellent. The sweets were nice and the biscuit/scone was also delicious. I saw someone complain about the clotted cream, it tasted like the cream we had in England, so no complaints here. The two pots of tea- the house Glen and their dessert blend were very good. The one down side was we had 2 pots for the six of us. It would have been nice to have a third pot. The owner seemed very nice.

One of the worst dining experiences I've had. Several of the foods were undercooked or just straight up nasty. No ambience, as it felt more like a dungeon with tea tables than actual high tea. Extremely overpriced and dingy. Don't waste your money. Our waitress was nice at least, so she's not to blame.

I attended tea at the old location several times and was always happy. Today I visited the new location. It was an enormous disappointment. What happened to the ambiance? It is in a single location strip mall. The sign over the shop is another company's name. The only way I recognized it was because of the picture of the Queen in the window. It doesn't seem like they even tried. The tables are close together; the food is mediocre as was the service. I will not be be back!

If you are looking for a quaint afternoon tea experience with delicious made-from-scratch food and fancy tableware, this is not the place. It has all the ambiance of a fast food restaurant, and the simple and meager sandwich offerings and plain scones were all that appeared to be made from scratch. The desserts seemed to be things purchased from the local grocery store. In all my many years of enjoying afternoon tea, this was a great disappointment. For $65 for two, I expected much more.

I think it's a nice afternoon tea for a first time tea person. She dropped off her food and server never once came back to check if everything was OK we had to wait for our bill 20 minutes. And I think the manager or the owner and oldest man with a British accent, was too busy, chatting up the table next to us to help her at all. I would like to add the owners response . Hi, there, I'm sorry you don't think you got good enough service. Please can you tell me what day you were in? I'd like to figure out what happened. I'd also like to figure out who you think I was "chatting up" im in a very happy relationship and your comment was unnecessary. I do have regular customers who I do join or sometimes chat with. I also usually at least say holi to everyone a couple of times to ask if everything is ok. If I didn't there must have been a reason for it. If you could please tell me when you were in and the name on your reservation I will do my best to figure out what happened and rectify the problem.

Best Sunday tea time with my girlfriends!! My friend planned a birthday party for me and found this little gem of a venue!! Nestled inside the Arizona Golf Resort, this darling spot is such a nice way to spend the afternoon. Mark the owner waited us including a few other servers to accommodate our large group. Everyone was SO NICE and helpful! Mark is just an encyclopedia on all things British, and told us a lot of history on tea. The food and treats were spot on.. my favorite indulgence being the clotted cream which they make in house with the biscuits and jelly. The dessert pudding tea was also a fav! We will definitely be back, we felt like royalty!!

Beautiful tea for four. Visiting from Alaska had Yorkshire breakfast tea, apple caramel tea and desserts scones tea sandwiches. Scones equaled those we had in England. Clotted cream strawberry jam wonderful hosts!

Quirky Royal Tea Room is definitely quirky if you're going by its location alone. Located in the dining room of the Arizona Golf Resort in Mesa. The service and tea were excellent. The sandwiches and scones were kind of average. If the scones were freshly baked and served with clotted cream this review would be much higher. They do have excellent china sets for the table settings.

Went a couple of weeks ago and was unfortunately really disappointed with the whole experience. As someone who is from an English family I wasn't expecting the full English experience but knowing the owners are from England had my hopes high for a fun English tea. Unfortunately what we received was an old, outdated empty high tea room hidden in the middle of a run down golf club, a limited menu, no water, and a lot of pre made food from Costco. The "clotted cream" which I mistakenly thought was butter at first by its appearance tasted less like clotted cream and more like cream cheese frosting and butter mixed together. The scones came out ice cold, as if they had just been defrosted, and were so dry I actually couldn't swallow it. Maybe I could have if they had any water. The tea came out pre-steeped, which is fine if only it wasn't over steeped. The finger sandwiches included : Egg salad with paprika (not a traditional egg with cress), apple and cheese, ham and cheese with mayo, and cucumber and dill (the closest to authentic sandwich there). So for $80 you can get subpar American style high tea with some Costco premade food, cold scones, fake clotted cream and over steeped tea.

What a fantastic place! We had a small bridal shower there today and it was amazing! The service was top notch, the tea options were wonderful, and the food was to die for. Mark went out of his way to take care of us and we had the best time. This is a definite go to!

Myself and friend went to give it a try and we had a nice time. The tables are nicely laid with white table cloths and matching china. Server and owner were very nice. For the price it was great. Other tea rooms in the area, charge way more. Clotted cream is advertised and disappointed it wasn't the real thing. I ask please update your website :)

Found this place online, made a reservation an hour or two before we went. We booked online, then called, the process was very simple and they were very kind over the phone. When we went in, there was very subtle music and we were greeted very kindly. We got the Full Afternoon Tea for Two. The tea was delicious and the food was very filling. We had a good amount of everything, however our server still checked in on us multiple times, as well as multiple others who worked there. It was a lovely experience and it was delicious too!

Went for a fun girl's afternoon. Such fun. Staff is very friendly and the service was great! We had a wonderful time. Mrs. Patmore's Pudding Dessert Tea is delicious. Highly recommend for any occasion.

We must have gone on a bad day. First) google maps takes you to a neighborhood. Confused I called, and the woman said they "were in the country club at Mesa Golf Course" Second) Not being from the area we had no idea and found "Arizona golf course in Mesa" that must be it. Third) I pulled up the map from their web site. The map image showed like a two story apartment. We drove around the golf course and found no signage, drove past the lobby, cabana homes, apartments...so I called AGAIN. We were now 17 minutes late for our reservation. I was told we needed to go into the lobby. Then we would find a sign. Ok... We drove back to the lobby, stepped over a dead squirrel pancake on the way to the lobby door. But yes, once you get inside there was indeed a sign. Nothing outside. They apparently share a part of the restaurant in the clubhouse - which by the way the restaurant has a sign on the street. The woman who seated us was lovely and funny. We ordered the house tea and it came quickly, pre steeped, which is traditional if they bring the larger tea pot. The tiered tray came next. I had to ask if they served cream for their English tea (IYKYK) and I also asked for honey. We were brought a tiny partially filled samples jar of honey - just barely enough for 4 cups and I think half and half or whole milk. (Cream does not affect my stomach, but half and half Or milk do, so I can only base it on that) Like the rest of the valley they might be short staffed. The phone kept ringing. At some point someone yelled, "get the phone!" Um.... The house tea was not bad. It was a standard black tea. Way better than Lipton tea for sure. The tea sandwiches were all on very soft fluffy white bread, little filling, crusts cut off. They were not bad at all. Nothing exciting either. There was a mass market mini quiche. Wasn't bad. Was not fab either. The scones were dense and for some reason served ice cold. Like, they came out of a freezer and thawed ice cold. The clotted cream was unique. Not typical. Instead sweet like cream cheese frosting mixed with whipped cream. Neither my husband or myself are them. The macarons seemed...packaged? They were super sugary so we didn't them all. They were smaller than the standard Macaron. One was chocolate and one was almond. The petit four was good, strong vanilla but super sugary as well. The brownie bite also looked packaged, it was hard. If it lets me upload the video of me knocking my fork on it, you'll see how hard, The chocolate dipped strawberries were wonderful. The chocolate was a good chocolate with a lot of cocoa butter. What really saved the place was the cool building and the servers. Really sweet women. But it was way too much sugar and not enough of the savory portion. It was an experience but not a great one. Especially for around $75 for two people for a "snack" (which is what high tea is supposed to do, hold you over for dinner) That's the tea for two, taxes and tip. Like I said, maybe we went on a bad day. .

Really lovely and affordable full English tea. Sandwiches were yummy and the scones were very authentic to England-- slightly sweet with a firm crumb and able to hold shape and condiments without flaking. Clotted cream is made in house and extremely delicious. We had the dessert tea which came recommended by our waitress and very much enjoyed it. The owner came to talk to our table and check up on us, he was a very sweet man who obviously cares a lot about the business and customer satisfaction. Overall the staff were very attentive and we were checked up on multiple times throughout our visit. Told the staff we were celebrating a birthday and even received a wonderful free gift! Would absolutely come again. The people and the food are worth the visit. A great experience especially considering this location is very new and I'm sure they're still working out the kinks.

Very enjoyable. Our party of 2 was welcomed and greeted upon arrival. We received excellent service from the two ladies in charge. We enjoyed the food and the service and will be back in the not-too-distant future. Loved seeing the Queen outside Buckingham Palace and felt perhaps we should have curtsied to her.

DO NOT GO HERE. I repeat DO NOT GO HERE. save yourself some time and money and go to English Rose Tea Room in Carefree, Az. Far from the valley but soooooo worth it. First time here, established is old and smells old. Service was non-existent. One girl serving the whole place and every eye was on her. So sad. I even tried to pay and waited 30 mins for server at which point I almost walked out. Sandwiches are very light and cheap. Tea was mid. Had to ask for tea spoons and cream. Water was not offered. Our sandwich tier had some small hairs on them. We laughed because they looked like eyelashes. Someone was in back crying because of how understaffed they were. Scones are dense and not served with typical clotted cream, instead it was served with a liquid frosting, not good at all. Macarons and quiche are from Costco. Paid $65 for tea for two (x2) for the four of us. Was $130 and we left no tip. I'm sorry. It was terrible. It left a bad taste in our whole day. My review: trash and trash.

Have been there. It was okay. Kind of dirty. Never cleaned table across from me and floor the entire time I was there. Expensive Doubt they cooked anything there. Hard to find place. I was never told he was short an employee l wasn't told anything. I shouldn't have to ask to have a clean table across from me. I ll never be back so don't worry.

Excellent selections of tea, sandwiches are amazing. The service is wonderful, very helpful. The tea room looks just like a few places I used to visit back home in England. It's very clean. Reminds me of the tea room in dad's army.

I really enjoyed all the beautiful tea sets and the food was really good. The tray was so pretty w/everything they put on it. I loved the clotted cream. Yummm The staff were very friendly and our food came out pretty quickly.

My friends and I love visiting English Tea Rooms and off we went to the Quirky Royal Tea Room today. We all wore our fascinators and had a lot of laughs and fun. The food was fabulous, the ambiance was perfect and Mark, the waiter, really added so much to our experience. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful afternoon tea. Located in an old school Arizona golf resort. All of the staff, our server and owner were friendly and attentive, stopped by and checked on us multiple times. We enjoyed the tea and food offerings. We will definitely be back.

Quirky all right. Tried for three days to get a reservation. Sent message to business. No reply. Can't leave message on phone. Well based on some of the reviews I will just drive 40 minutes and to a real English tea room that actually was glad to take my reservation.

I took my mother to the Quirky Royal Tea Room for her birthday and we had a great time. Our waitress was fun and friendly, the food was so good, with a nice variety of sandwiches and deserts. The scones and clotted cream are always a highlight for me and they didn't disappoint. Will definitely go back. It made for a fun, relaxed & food filled afternoon.

We've tried twice to try this new tea room but sadly have been unable to due to the poor management The first time was more of an on the spot decision to go for tea and a scone. I checked the website and saw nothing about reservations required, and noted their phone message said "reservations recommended." So we went, only to be told once we got there that they could not serve us with no reservation, supposedly because they only make enough food for their reservations. Really?! We were only going for two cups of tea and 1-2 scones!!!! Fast forward a few weeks and I called to make a reservation. Although there is a place to leave a message, their phone message says they do not retrieve messages from this number. Instead, the message tells you to call back later or directs you to their website. It also gives you an email address so you can send them a message. After calling back three more times throughout the morning/afternoon, I decided to send them a message at the gmail address on their voice mail. I asked for a reservation the next day at 3PM. This was at 2:45PM on a Thursday. At 8:10 PM Thursday night I received a response from Mark saying "Sure", and asking if we could come a bit earlier, at 2:30. I responded in the affirmative. So today (Friday) we showed up at 2:15 for our 2:30 reservation. After standing at the podium for at least five minutes, a lady finally acknowledged us. When I told her we had a reservation at 2:30 she looked puzzled and said she didn't have my name down for a reservation. I explained that I had an email from Mark that I thought confirmed the reservation, but she clearly didn't care, countering that she monitors the reservations and she got nothing from me. We explained that we only planned on having tea and a scone. Again, we were told they had nothing to feed us without a reservation. Her arrogance was noteworthy. She did not apologize or even attempt to accommodate us. (We noted that there were TWO tables occupied in the huge dining room.) I was so excited to see a tea room open up near my home but we won't be going back for a third try. Nobody likes to be treated disrespectfully, and I find it hard to believe that they don't have extra tea and 1-2 scones for situations like this. Maybe the Golf Resort should consider a new management team.

I went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The service was great and it was a cute tea setup. I've been to my fair share of high teas in the Phoenix and Seattle area so this review is coming from my personal opinion/comparing to other tea rooms I've visited. The food was just okay to me. The cucumber sandwiches tasted different than other ones I've had- it could've been because the cucumber wasn't peeled? I personally wasn't a fan. I also thought that the macarons and Madeline cookies tasted like the ones from Costco. Not that it's bad, but I was expecting more. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the service was great- they're all so nice and make sure that you have a good/fun experience.

Great place! Excellent food! Friendly service! I had a wonderful afternoon here and I am looking forward to going back. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. I would definitely recommend it.

It was great fun and delish...you think that with the finger foods and treats that you won't get full, but it's just enough!! Our waiter (in a kilt) was sweet and kept the tea coming!!
