A great choice for lunch in Harpers Ferry.
The Rabbit Hole restaurant opened in mid-April 2019, when, according to their website, the owners turned their idea into a real place. It’s easy to find downtown as it is right along the High street, the main road through the town. There is parking down the hill but not much right next to the entrance. It has seating inside and outside. It was pleasant outside when we visited and our party chose to sit on the deck that overlooks the train station, the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The outside seating was metal chairs and tables painted black with black chairs and umbrellas over the tables. The menu offers traditional American dishes including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and health-focused options. Their front door sign advertised over 100 beers. The restaurant is child adn dog friendly with a sign on the gate that states, “Good dogs ok”. We did not have reservations. In fact, I do not know if they take them. We walked in and were seated within minutes on the patio. The staff was very professional and the prices were reasonable for the current economy. I ordered a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries that came out quickly and were very good. The view was very nice and the weather was enjoyable. The train comes by regularly and is a pleasant talking point and view for those that don’t see trains everyday. Overall, for the views, food variety, and good service, this is a good choice for lunch in the city.
