This is a great option when having a dinner and drinks nearby at Field and Main. We decided that, rather than driving home, we would just stay the night in Marshall and are very glad we did. The building is old and has all the quirky charm of an old building, but with the modern appointments. The bed and bathroom were quality and the common area (stocked with chips and some drinks) was a nice option to feel like you have more space than just a room.||It's not exactly a Bed and Breakfast, since there was no breakfast, but several options were available in walking distance. We went to a local diner and had a nice breakfast before checking out some of the nearby antique stores.||We will definitely be back.

My husband and I recently stayed at The Rosemary after I found it on my hotel search in the Marshall, VA area. We had plans the next day to see a friend of mine before continuing on our road trip, and this was located just down the street from where we were meeting. Leah from The Rosemary was fantastic - she and I communicated efficiently, our room was paid before I even checked in, all of our check-in information was emailed ahead of time, and she also left us a lovely note with a bottle of wine and glasses for when we arrived. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones there (we never saw or heard anyone else on our Thursday night stay), so it was lovely, private and somewhat secluded. Our room was beautiful, comfortable, and we even made due without a TV for the night. The floors are creaky (as you'd expect from a building from the 1800s!), and the staircase to The Rooms Up There is a bit tight with luggage, but we didn't mind (we were smarter the next day and carried only a couple of things down at a time). The green doors with gold clovers to the rooms are a nice touch, and the snacks/drinks provided in the common room across the hall were very welcome! The room had beautiful marble bathrooms with glass and tile shower, it was very spacious, and had comfortable beds. In our room, we were also given great recommendations for dining. There's a few wonderful places nearby for food: Red Truck Bakery (across the street - try the strawberry cream cheese croissant), The Whole Ox (just down the street - a butcher and specialty shop with AMAZING burgers and fries!), and King Street Oyster Bar (a short drive away in Middleburg). For being on the main street, it was incredibly quiet. The price was great too, and worth every cent paid. If we are ever needing a place to stay in the area again, we'll 100% be staying at The Rosemary!

I recently had the pleasure of attending a baby shower at The Rosemary in downtown Marshall, and it was a wonderful experience! From start to finish, the staff at The Rosemary were incredibly attentive and accommodating, making sure that every detail was just right. Leah, in particular, was a standout. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and was always available to answer any questions or concerns. Her attention to detail and warm personality really made the event feel special. The room itself was absolutely perfect. It was spacious, yet cozy, with plenty of natural light and charming decor. I loved the mix of modern and vintage elements, which gave the space a unique and inviting. Another bonus of The Rosemary is the ample parking. This was especially important for our event, as we had many guests traveling from out of town. The convenience of having plenty of nearby parking really made a difference. Overall, I highly recommend The Rosemary for any event or gathering. The space is lovely, the staff is attentive, and the location is unbeatable. Thank you to Leah and the team at The Rosemary for making my daughter’s baby shower such a memorable occasion!

Absolutely loved this hotel! The room was large and the furniture and decor was beautiful. The two cozy robes was a super nice touch! The common area is just beautiful as well and stocked with snacks for you to take as well. Leah who works there is so kind and easy to communicate with. Do not hesitate to book this hotel, you will not regret it!

This is a beautiful place to stay in Marshall. We were a group of three couples who rented all the rooms for an evening. The Common Room was a great feature for us to hang out and play games, and fully stocked with snacks, water, coffee, tea and other drink options.

Worth every penny. Owner is very responsive and directions for your stay are sent ahead of time as well as a nice little welcome package waiting upon arrival. The building is an unassuming hidden little gem. The inside is very clean and tidy. The beds are luxurious and comfortable. Impeccable decor both inside and out. The complimentary snacks and beverages in the Commons (sitting room) was above and beyond. WiFi is available and dependable. My daughter and I stayed here while I was visiting from out of town. We felt like we were staying in a lovely country home and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet time. We even extended out stay by two days and the owner was most helpful to figure out a way to accommodate us. The first few days we were there alone, and it felt like our place. But even when other guests arrived, we felt everyone was respectful of the space, and there were no disturbances to our feeling of being "at home." I can not say enough good things about our host, and his lovely escape in the beautiful Virginia countryside. So many great little towns nearby to enjoy (Middleburg, The Planes). The gift cards the The Red Truck Bakery were also appreciated. Do yourself a favor and visit the Interior Design space below the Rooms, exquisite taste. I would like to note that if you are expecting a "hotel" like experience with TV, Front Desk etc...this is not your jam. I was very happy to not have that vibe, so we could have a more intimate experience one on one, and get out and enjoy what the surrounding areas had to offer. Our favorites: Field and Main (for dinner), Half Past Moon (for breakfast), Happy Creek Coffee Coffee & Tea (for an excellent pour over coffee or Earl lavender tea). While I appreciated the host giving us our space, my only regret was not meeting him in person to share my thanks in person. Thank you Dan. We will be back.

This was a really cute place to stay for the night. We were attending a party in a nearby town so did not spend much time in our room but it was beautifully furnished with lots of nice little touches. The common area had snacks tea coffee water and soda. It was very quiet and parking was easy. The little town is cute too!

The inn is easy to find and parking is also very easy. It is in a great location if you are aiming to visit Marshall as you can walk down Main St. to many different shops and restaurants. It is very close to Field and Main if you are planning to visit for dinner. It is also a short walk to the cafe where a giftcard for breakfast is provided (which was tasty). ||||We were the only people there during our stay so we were able to use the common space which made our room feel even "bigger". The common space has a nice setup with an area to relax, games, snacks, and coffee/tea. ||||We stayed in the Counting Room, it was similar to a standard hotel room size. It had a king sized bed which was comfortable. The rooms had their own thermostat which was nice. ||||As others have noted it doesn't have many other amenities as you would expect at a standard hotel. This was fine with us as we had reviewed the website, but something to keep in mind. ||||Check in was done by email and very straightforward. It was very covid friendly as you can check yourself in and out.
