Rarely do I make the trek to Sunnyside for a cup of coffee, but when a potential employer wants to meet you in the flesh to talk all things business and want to get to know you - you GO. That was the case just last week when meeting up with Ms. Chelsea C. The Radiator was her spot of choice - and a good one at that because it was the perfect spot! Here's why:
++The outdoor patio is MASSIVE, allows for a variety type of seating and has plenty of shade, which is the perfect spot to get a little work done, converse with friends or simply take in the quaint neighborhood that surrounds the area!
++The cutesy interior is like something out of a movie - the quintessential local hangout. The walls are painted a deep green with books in every nook and cranny, vintage mirrors hang behind the wooden bar and an insane amount of natural light flows in from the large windows. All I can say is this place is a VIBE and creates a very trendy, yet quaint and homey feel - perfect for any occasion!
++ The sweetest staff to date! Having not peeked at the menu beforehand, I spent ample time looking at the menu board. Staff offered their favorites, provided details descriptions of their concoctions and whip up whatever you want with a smile.
++ A delicious food and beverage menu! Being that we met at 11AM I opted for a crisp black unsweetened tea, which completely hit the spot on a hot summer day. Cold brews, coffee of the day, lattes and all the coffee you could want are offered, so come thirsty! Best part - the BAR! Yes, serving up local wines, drafts and cocktails! YUM.
++Leroy's bagels are offered here - and sell out FAST. I can't wait to see what the type is about, because I've only heard good things about them! However, when said bagels are sold out there are other options for eats. The seriously delicious menu offers a wide variety of breakfast sandwiches, fruit cups and the like for the perfect amount of sustenance. During my visit, I opted for the veggie sandwich which featured sourdough bread, cream cheese, tomato, onion, cucumber and sprouts which was unbelievably fresh and the perfect portion! My guest got a simple egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, which she seemed to enjoy.
++Pricing is insanely reasonable for this part of town, with each sandwich under $6 and all drinks around the same price! What a steal!
The only downside I can even remotely attribute to this spot is the lack of parking. Being that the Radiator is a neighborhood spot, it's primarily street parking which fills up fast. However, the surrounding streets provide an option with a small walk.
When in this quaint neighborhood again, I'd easily stop in again!
