The Best Election Day Restaurant Deals and Watch Parties in Portland | Eater Portland

"The Northeast Alberta Street bar will have its big screen on for election results starting in the early evening; happy hour runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mid-century–inspired lounge, and patrons can quell Election Night nerves with cocktails like spiced lemon drops or zero-proof phony Negronis all night." - Janey Wong

The Radio Room is the best live venue in Upstate SC and continually draws great musical acts. I've been going to shows there for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. Ample parking. I usually get there before doors open because I like to have a chance to check out the merch, talk with the bands, if possible, and grab a spot near the stage. Great food, good beer selection. The location on N. Pleasantburg was awesome, but kind of tight; but the new build has much better everything. The stage is a lot bigger and allows the bands to pre-stage alot more equipment and more area to move around. The sound is always spot on. And they don't run fog constantly like some other venues. I didn't know this till recently after talking with the co-leads from Major Moment, but The Radio Room provides the bands food at no cost prior to the show, and they were very complimentary of the venue and its staff. Always a great experience though at The Radio Room.

Google
Pretty decent venue to see a show. Went and saw Geoff Tate and not a bad view of stage. Bar is easy to access and tenders were nice. Just had some beer. There was free water as well which was awesome!

Went to see Pink Floyd cover band. These guys were fantastic! They are out of Atlanta, and Their sound was very comparable. The venue was amazing, lots of room and even some round tables. The food was delicious. Had the special burger, my wife had the grilled cheese. Very tasty for a concert venue. I was impressed. We will sure to be back. And if you get a chance check out this band Interstellar Echoes, you won't be disappointed.

Google
The Radio Room is an amazing Venue. I just came tonight to see A WAR TO WIN play. The acoustics are great, the band was phenomenal, and I’m not just saying that because I’m dating the Lead Singer.

Google
It was so nice, this was my second time going. There was maybe 50-60 people there, the staff were nice, the bands were great, I had a lot of fun as usual

Google
Took over 30 min at non busy time to get grilled cheese. Glass of house wine was about $5 in flimsy cup 2/3 full. Loved the band we went to see though.

Amazing space at the Radio Room! I love the layout of the location. Easy to get drinks and then head over to the stage or mingle in between. I got the privilege of the VIP experience, and I absolutely adore the close space for meet and greets. There's something for everybody here! They even serve craft mocktails and local ciders, plus so many selections of beer on tap and even mixed drinks. The food is so perfect for the setting. Can't wait until my next visit!

Google
Been seeing bands at Radio Room since the original on North Pleasantburg. The new space is such a proper music venue first and foremost. Sound was incredible, restrooms huge and clean, big and quiet back patio, great mixed drinks, huge bar where you can get a drink almost immediately and killer chill staff. Next time i’ll come early and get food and update this. Loved watching this journey for you all at Radio. Oh, and so so much parking!

Yelp
This version of the Radio Room will sadly yet excitedly be transitioning new concerts, shows and experiences to the brand new, larger Radio Room that will boldly go where few clubs have gone in Greenville: to a new, smarter and well designed venue. And it will be able to hold more fans. Wes Gilliam and his team are doing everything right in ending 2023 with Great bands and kicking off 2024 with even broader, deeper and perfect tone setters for their new location. This is an exciting time to be sure. I only have one request, please bring your current chef - he's fire The food is off the hook! Go experience this Radio Room before you've missed the opportunity. And good luck getting tickets to those last few shows. #RadioRoomGvlROCKS

Yelp
The place looks small when you first come in but don't be fooled. She's bigger than she looks! The food was great and the staff was to match. Great venue to eat and listen to music.

Yelp
I wanna say this place is awful so it stays the place it is, but they deserve the praise. This place is fucking awesome.

Yelp
A music hall that's kind of a rollercoaster. I've gone and been blown away by the bands or just amazed that they're up on the stage. It's a complete dive. An acquired taste but if you like a strong drink at a cheap price it does work. The crowd changes depending on what bands are booked so the people are there for the music, conversation is limited. One strange thing about the place is that they do have great food. As good or better then most expensive places on Main street. The bathrooms smell and the staff is kind of friendly. But they're fast. Your drinks refilled by the time you hit the bar. So if your lucky to be there on a good music night you'll enjoy the food, the drinks and hopefully the music.

Yelp
On the basis of a referral, we went here to hear Caleb Caudle. Decided to go early for dinner too. I had a Cuban Sandwich (the day's special) and I must say it was superb! Perhaps the best I've had in Greenville. Their draft beer selection is limited but there was enough variety in the options for us to find something we liked. There are lots more can and bottle options. After dinner it was time for the music. Most enjoyable! I was really surprised that, given the quality of the performers, there weren't more people there. It was s summer Thursday night, so perhaps that was a factor. In my opinion, the Radio Room deserves more press coverage and local support. Great location across from the new Spinx station on Poinsett Highway (yes, we felt safe). Recommended.

Yelp
I was at the Radio Room when Angry Chairs were there Saturday 25 of March. Just to let you know I thought Solarist was the best band that played.

Yelp
The music scene is back in Greenville! After the Handlebar closed several years ago, the music scene more or less dried up and died. We had the old Radio Room but the booking was hit or miss. The new Radio Room is located where Independent Ale House was located. It's at the intersection of Poinsett Highway and Rutherford, just across the way from the new Spinx gas station. The new Radio Room kills it with booking. Some of my recent favorites to have played there are Modern English, Tim Skold (formerly of KMFDM and Marilyn Manson), Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Will Hoge, and Bright Light Social Hour. Upcoming shows: A Pale Horse Named Death (featuring former members of Type O Negative), Saliva, Supersuckers, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Titus Andronicus, and Jump Little Children are sure to please (Fall 2019). The Radio Room features good pub fare and a decent selection of craft beer, domestic beer, and liquor drinks. Staff is always friendly and helpful as well. Be sure to get to the Radio Room and catch a show soon!

Yelp
Radio Room is exactly what we were looking for. After feeling like we really explored our way through much of the downtown bar scene, we were looking for something different. After being told about Radio Room by a local, we knew it was on our list that night. After realizing they stay open later than the average bar, we figured it'd be a great way to end the evening. Without much info to go off of on Yelp, we were taking a shot in the dark heading over there on a Wed evening, but we knew the second we exited our Uber we were in the right place. It instantly reminded me of one of my favorite dive bars in Charleston... plus they have live music. If divey spots with live music and cheap drinks is kinda your thing, go check this place out.

Yelp
Love The Radio Room. Great bands, great vibe, great food. Wes, the owner, really has a great little thing going on here!

Yelp
Very interesting venue! I love how small and music-devoted this (dive) bar is. The focus is definitely on finding local musicians out to make their mark in the world, which is fantastic! For $5 on a Wednesday, we had the opportunity to see three very different acts alongside a much larger crowd than expected, and PBR was $1! Definitely worth the trek. Can't ask for a cheaper or more fun night out!!!

Yelp
It's an awesome place to grab a drink and catch a show. With that being said, the food is garbage, just saying.....but what do you expect? We had an awesome time and will definitely go back, just not hungry.

Yelp
Few Awesome people there on Karaoke Night on Tuesdays. Rebecca is Awesome My Husband go there to sing and only sing 2 times. Way to much favoritism. We won't be coming back, Ash don't know how do Karaoke. The sound system horrible

Yelp
I love the people that work here. They feel like my second family. Good food and beer/drank selection. I'd love to see better music come through. Pop punk and dad metal isn't something I'd pay a cover for. I want to hear some weird stuff. Still love ya though!

Scott A.

Yelp
This place rules. Great spot for live music, pulls in some very good musicians. Friendly staff & nice selection of beers. Got my face melted the other night by some ripping bands. And the food is NOT garbage!

Yelp
Been a few times. Not my cup of tea. It is definitely a dive bar and you feel dirty just being there. Terrible beer selection, and the bartender when I was there was mean. I'm not sure if she is mean on purpose to fit the aesthetic or if she just hates people in general yet picked a customer service related career. One time I went and was charged a cover but several other people were not. I felt like an outsider and wasn't sure if I had just given some random dude 5 dollars. Every time I have gone the music was intolerable and this is coming from a fan of what most people call sucky music. The patrons are seedy and very unwelcoming. I would not suggest going unless you're in to dive bars. I give it 2 stars because they do support local bands which is needed in this area. To each their own I suppose.

Ralph Y.

Yelp
If you're a promoter trying to see if there is interest in booking your band, don't bother. If the answer is no, they let you know with just not replying and ignoring you ever contacted them.

Yelp
Wow! What a great place to see and hear Robert Ellis and Kelly Doyle up close! This is a warm, welcoming and convenient spot for music and food. Wes, the owner is extremely personable and Sam, the bartender was a sweet and capable young woman. The food was delicious bar food and the prices are beyond reasonable for eats, drinks and an amazing show! We drove three hours and we will be back! Thanks so much! Wishing you much success! J&J

Matthew M.

Yelp
The beer selection and the bar as a whole is cool. If you want to sing karaoke here the dude running it takes a lot of breaks during the job. He took a whole hour to go smoke 2 Newport's near the dumpster with some girl and talk about how shitty the pizza at dominos got over the past few months.. ??? Fire this guy and get someone new.

Yelp
In a town where chic and modern new bars are all the rage, WPBR Radio Room has never strived to fit in. Off the beaten path (in more ways than one) in the North Greenville Cherrydale area, the windowless shack is one of the most unique bars in the south. I've relished in dive bars in any town I find myself in and this place has everything you want for a premium weird evening: live music, eclectic locals, alpha owners, cheap drinks and strange house-made trap juice called "Pirate Punch". Granted Radio Room is not for everyone but everyone who "goes out" in Greenville should experience it...at least once. Watch out for the smoky atmosphere if cigarettes bother you and check your watch/phone frequently as time will slip away fast there....next thing you know you have to work in three hours...ouch!. Go to Radio Room. Listen to live music. Play pool. Drink Pirate Punch. Dance to Hall and Oates. All at Radio Room.
