The Rails

I lived at The Rails for about 8 months (November 2024 to July 2025). While I had some minor communication issues at times, they were eventually addressed and resolved. The amenities were exactly as shown in the photos, and honestly, the gym and music room were even better in person. The building felt clean and secure, and overall it was a comfortable place to live. As an international tenant, finding housing in America isn’t always easy, but The Rails provided a safe and stable place for me during my stay. I appreciate the experience and would recommend this place to others.

I recently visited The Rails Apartments in Buffalo, and I was honestly so impressed. As someone new to the area (and visiting from India), Its modern place that felt comfortable, safe, and well-connected — and The Rails checked every box. The building is absolutely beautiful and feels brand new. The apartments have a very stylish design with big windows, bright lighting, and high-end finishes. What really stood out to me were the amenities. There’s a great gym, a golf simulator, a music room, and even a cozy lounge area that gives the whole place a community feel. The management team was very friendly and took the time to show me around and answer every question. The location is also fantastic — close to Main Street, public transport, and lots of nice restaurants and cafés. It’s convenient without being noisy, and the area feels safe and welcoming. Overall, The Rails offers the perfect mix of modern living and comfort. It feels like the kind of place where you could easily settle in and make a home. I would definitely recommend it to anyone moving to Buffalo or looking for a premium apartment experience.

I have been extremely impressed with the management team at The Rails Apartments, especially Ajay, Sarah, and Zhakari. From the day I moved in, they have consistently shown professionalism, kindness, and a genuine willingness to help. Ajay, Sarah, and Zhakari are always warm and welcoming. No matter what questions I have—big or small—they respond with patience and clear explanations. They make every interaction feel easy and stress-free. Whether it’s assistance with paperwork, clarification about community policies, or quick support for any concerns, they always go above and beyond. It’s rare to find a management office that is not only efficient but also truly cares about the residents’ experience. Their positive attitude and dedication make The Rails feel like a well-run, safe, and comfortable place to call home. I am very grateful for their continuous support and highly recommend this community to anyone looking for excellent service and a responsive management team.

I moved into The Rails 4 days ago, and the experience has been amazing! The move-in process was swift and easy thanks to their app, which clearly listed all pre-move-in details. The management is accommodating and genuinely helpful — they even organized a fun BBQ party for residents to mingle and get to know each other. The place is spotless, always smells fresh, and has friendly neighbors. Amenities are great for spending free time, and the location is perfect: close to the bus and rail stations, with Aldi just 0.2 miles away. A Mediterranean restaurant is also opening soon right here, which is exciting! The cost is well worth the facilities, and the valet trash service (for a small fee) is super handy for maintaining hygiene. Highly recommend!

I’ve been living at The Rails for four months and I like it a lot. The staff are attentive, friendly, and quick to help with any issue. Ajay and Sarah are organized and on top of everything. Demetrius handles the maintenance and he’s great. he’s helped me with my heater, a few other repairs, and even came in on a weekend to fix my drain. Anyone who visits my apartment is impressed by how nice it is. It’s comfortable and a great place to live.

Update: So I have been living in the rails apartment for a couple of months now and I must say they have one of the best customer service I have seen. When I reported that my heater was in my studio apartment acting up, they responded immediately. Ajay, the facility manager, was outstanding, friendly, professional, and very proactive. The maintenance team quickly tried to fix the issue, but when it persisted, Ajay made the call to move me right away because he didn’t want me sleeping in a cold room during winter. They went above and beyond to find an immediate solution based on availability, and I really appreciated how flexible and resident-focused they were throughout the whole situation. That level of care and customer service is rare. Highly recommend! I had such a smooth move-in experience at The Rails Apartments thanks to Ajay, the leasing officer. He was super helpful, patient, and kind throughout the whole process. He explained every step clearly and really guided me through it. I told him I needed to move in quickly and he was absolutely on it, while being professional, efficient, and attentive. On top of that, the apartment itself is so nice and comfy, and it was kept in top-notch condition for my move-in. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I would like to thank the Rails apartment leasing team—Ajay, Sarah, Zhakari & Shelley. Shelley listened and welcomed me when I first arrived for a tour of the property. It was a different experience for me, starting with the brief consultation on what I was looking for, and I definitely recommend it as someone who values my time so you can find the apartment that fits best for you. Then when I arrived to receive my keys after deciding to go with Rails property, there was a minor issue that was out of my control, but Ajay, Sarah, and Zhakari addressed it immediately. I appreciated them for their communication, professionalism, honesty, and commitment to making sure my move-in process was exactly what I needed. Being from a long way from home… it was clear they cared about my experience and not just the lease, and I truly felt supported throughout the process. Shout out to them for making my experience with Rails Apartments one that I will remember, so I strongly recommend—if you’re apartment hunting, go with the Rails Property.

Here are several cons for your consideration: 1) The building quality is low and the noise insulation between floors is poor. This leads to excessive noise transmitting between apartments. If you have a demanding career and need a good night of sleep or if you are a light sleeper, I recommend hesitating prior to leasing here. I have neighbors that make excessive noise at night during quiet hours. The leasing office does not have great solutions. Proceed with caution. 2) The shower temperature takes a long time to heat up. Waste of resources. 3) The rented furniture is low quality. It is convenient to have this option however (silver lining). 4) The intersection is not designed to handle traffic into the Rails facility (lights and lanes were designed prior to construction of the building). You will have no clean way to enter the building from the north, and occasionally from the west approach depending on how traffic lights work (e.g. it may give you a left only arrow and you want to go straight to enter the apt complex). 5) People park in my reserved/paid spot. I called the office regarding this and they said they will "call me back." Obviously they did not. 6) The bathroom sink size is laughably small. There are many pros already outlined in the reviews. Here are a couple I want to highlight: 1) They seem to respond quickly and reasonably to maintenance requests. 2) The heating/cooling system works well. If you are someone with little bandwidth left to spend on the types of daily issues highlighted as cons above, I would carefully weigh your options.

Rails is a great location and perfect for UB students. Close to campus, easy public transportation access, and the amenities are amazing!
