This venue is really wonderful. The crew running things are professional and courteous. The sound was fantastic and it definitely enhanced some already amazing musicians' sets. Pretty cheap drinks and plenty of bathrooms. This place has been around awhile and it really shows.

Nice venue. Seem to have a good local following. Band-End of the Line. Enjoyed the show even though they got a late start. Parking was typical for downtown Winston-Salem. But wasn't a bad walk. Only negative doors aren't open until after sound check. Not sure if that was a band thing or establishment rule.

I’m going to have to check out more shows here. We came for Cowboy Bebop Live and had a blast. They even had special cocktails made up for the occasion. Hope they do it again next year!

Google
I like everything about this venue. Easy to get drinks, it was clean, loved the high ceilings as so many smaller venues seem dingy and claustrophobic. Exited the show straight over to the brewery next door. I can’t comment on parking as I took an Uber.

Google
Cool venue - really good use of the space, great views of the bands from almost anywhere. Lots of street parking available.

Google
I enjoyed a great show at the Ramkat On a Sunday night. Performance was excellent and then you was nice What wasn’t nice, and before warned, is that the parking lot in front of the venue even on Sunday night is a pay parking lot that charges $45 for 3 hours. I entered after dark and left right after the show. They are threatening me with collection if I don’t fall for the extortion, and this is not something that has ever posted at the door to make sure that you’ve paid for parking I Will never again visit this venue because of the extortion rate parking. Don’t be fooled and don’t forget to add $45 to the cost of your tickets To determine the actual cost of the show

Sound quality is phenomenal and the staff is super attentive. Definitely will be going back. **Pay by phone to park. **

Standing room sucks!!!!!! Can’t see the band at all. Every one should have an equal chance to see the band. My view from my upstairs standing room

Yelp
Seen some really great cover bands, and the silent disco's are a blast. The venue is very clean. Have had some enjoyable times there.!

Yelp
What a great venue this was. We came and saw two tribute bands rock it out and it had great acoustics and it wasn't stuffy and crowded, they had some good air flowing through there and the staff was super friendly. They have so many different types of shows to choose from if you go to their website. For only $20 for floor standing only, we got to enjoy two tribute bands that actually were pretty good quality, that sounded very similar to the original bands that I was used to in the 90s. So I'm just saying, they don't just put anybody on stage. I'll definitely check out other shows here and come back again. And you know what? They didn't gouge you for some cold draft beer like other concert venues do. I really appreciated that. Did I mention that? That they have a big bar there right next to the main floor area? Yeah it's pretty awesome.

Yelp
I attended a show at this place in the winter months so it was dark as I entered the large empty parking lot. I watched a good musical performance and was happy, however, 10 days later I receive a bill in the mail for $45. Calling the venue only leads to frustration - apparently when they send your tickets on the 7th or 8th page of the message if you scroll way past the bar codes for entry there is fine print that says the parking in front of the venue is a pay lot. There is also, apparently, on the sites webpage a FAQ page that also mentions the pay parking near the bottom. I've seen a lot of shows and been to sporting events, ski resorts, and more where pay parking is a feature - and they always offer prepaid paring and a link to the parking site so you know you'll have to pay and can be prepared. In this location, there is free parking near by so they are sneaky and don't mention it to trap you. The sneaky misleading way they work means I will never give them another penny.

Yelp
If you love live music & small venues, you'll love The Ramkat! My mom & I saw Tab Benoit and the show was awesome!! From the staff to the crowd- everyone was super friendly! We got to meet Tab after the show & that was pretty neat! I can't wait to see more shows here! I'll definitely be back! We enjoyed having a beer next door at Wise Man- which was a nice feature while we waited for the doors to open. Great experience!

Yelp
SILENT DISCO !!! Way too much fun with friends! Sore from dancing for the past 3 SOLID hours...when you can pick one of three songs, it's guaranteed that you will be moving your feet or bobbing your head. Way better than being upset at a nightclub because you don't like what's playing--- just turn the station! I think they do it once a month now. Beer pints are cheapest I've seen in Winston-Salem.

Yelp
Only attended one show there but I loved it. It was a cover band that specialize in one of my favorite bands growing up. The sound was amazing. I liked the size of the place. Great bars and great services.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great place to hear top-notch music, this is a must in the Winston music scene. The venue is a wide open space w 2 bars, a large stage, great acoustics and professional sound mixers and stage lighting. Seating is spaced throughout the bottom floor. I rented a table in the center of room with a great view of the band. Tables costs vary but we came w 3 other people and split the cost making it $30 pp for table, entry and a fabulous music experience. The best seats in my opinion are on the upper floor where tables can be rented as well. They also offer inexpensive General Admission tickets for standing room only. Which I sometimes take advantage of, you can get closer to the stage that way. We had a pretty good view for the main floor considering all the GA people standing in front of us. The band was the Vagabond Saints who are one of the tightest musical groups around. This night they were doing a tribute to The Cure. Wow they killed it! You must check them out they play shows throughout Winston and Greensboro mostly. At the entrance you will feel you are at a concert, they get your ticket there and place an armband on your wrist and check bags, wand scan you and you're good to go. I felt very safe. Highly recommend this venue and the top area performers that they bring to the stage along w some performances from groups who tour. No food is for sale so eat at one of the many restaurants around this part of downtown then get ready for a great night of live music.

Yelp
Go-To place for live music in Winston Salem. I've seen some really great bands here, some known and some pleasant surprises. I'll stay a regular

Yelp
We have been several times to Ramkat & Gas Hill over the years. Since I have mobility issues now, a sold out show is harder. Most venues we go to set aside accessibility seats at no extra cost. Next show we will pay extra and do balcony and see if view is acceptable. At least that will prevent others from tripping all over my rig, which most did. The music venue is great at offering unique performers. Attend any up-and-coming performer at this Venus before they "make it" and grow out of this venue. At least prices are reasonable and bathrooms clean. The music was great and we have already bought tickets for another show.

Yelp
Always fun going to see a show at the ramkat. I've been standing on the bottom floor for general admission as well as seated up on the balcony. I love their non alcoholic options and they also have NA beer!

Yelp
Nice venue! Friendly staff. Red Oak on tap. Awesome sound quality and not too loud. Also not too crowded. Clean restrooms

Yelp
Got to my first show at the Ramkat this week. I got to shows all over the area, but my first time visiting this venue. Great size, seems like it can certain accommodate some bigger bands coming through. They've got a full bar, actually multiple, but only one open, maybe based on the size of the event(?). It did not seem any good was served there though a vendor was grilling up burgers out on the smoking patio. Staff was friendly, and quick to check IDs, though they were 30 minutes late opening the doors. For being a warmer day, I l had expected it to be a bit warmer inside; but it was actually pretty comfortable, not sure how it is mid summer. Only complaint, there was some bleacher seating against the wall, and despite it being empty, you weren't allowed to sit there unless you paid extra for a ticket that included bleacher seating. I thought that was a bit lame. Overall, I was happy, and would go back to another show there

Yelp
Awesome place to enjoy some cool tunes. Have been several times and the price doesn't brake the bank.

Yelp
This place was great! Nice venue, with a plenty of space but not too big. Sound was also really good along with a friendly staff. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice if they lowered there beer prices some. Otherwise everything was great and I plan to return someday!

Yelp
I've been to The Ramkat probably ten times now since they opened. It's an absolutely awesome music venue and a real asset to the Triad music scene. They get a wide variety of music from all genres. The sound is excellent. The staff is very professional and they do a very thorough job with security. Whether you are attending a show at The Ramkat or just coming in on your own, the Gas Hill Drinking Room is a really cool spot with excellent and creative cocktails. It's fun to pre-game across the street at Earls or Wiseman Brewery before the shows. Only downside is parking can be a little challenging. Support local live music! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a great venue. We came for a kid's dance party. It was well organized and a lot of fun. For 5 dollars they had music, drink, and snack for each child. Adults were free but I enjoyed the music too. We would come back for the kid events.

Yelp
Wonderful venue with a wide array of music & events. Covering all things from local to national acts. Sound is amazing with a very nice staff. Good selection of beers on tap and in cans as well. Which are also very nicely priced considering it's a music venue (you know what I'm talking about if you've ever had a $15 Live Nation beer lol). There is also a separate cocktail bar attached up top Called "Gas Hill Drinking Room" Which is always open to anyone Thursday-Saturday with a killer cocktail menu and awesome whiskey selection (also dog friendly!). It's got its own vibe and a cool place to retreat to during intermission at shows or just hang before and after events. Definitely a must see. Nice to finally have a place bringing quality events and community involvement back into the city on a larger scale.

Yelp
The owner of this establishment is a total piece of trash. He's the only loser on the planet I've ever seen who actually tows cars in his parking spaces when there's a million spaces available! So don't park in this idiot's spaces, no matter the night, or it's $300 for no reason. It's incredibly petty and honestly the biggest power trip you'll ever see. If the spaces were sparse, fine! But the lot was wide open, and he still has to be in control. And don't try to have a reasonable conversation with him, instead of being understanding and kind, he'll laugh in your face. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but petty and outlandish individuals deserve no kindness in return. Avoid this place unless you would like to support those kind of people, which, shame on you.

Yelp
Loved this place. Our bartender was awesome and man she could make a drink. We sat on a sofa and relaxed and chilled. Downstairs a rather boisterous thrash metal band was performing and thought how in the world did I listen to this stuff when I was much younger. I have yet to meet a rude bartender in Winston Salem. I wish I got our bartender's name she was so terribly nice. (Blonde woman)

Yelp
Yes let's waste an evening going to a "music venue" that is just a stage in a parking lot. Doesn't want to tell anyone before buying tickets that no chairs are available nor can you bring your own chair until after you buy your tickets. Let's make everyone stand on asphalt for 3 hours. Also hope you got food before you came, food trucks are available, but if you go to the area the food trucks are, you won't be allowed back in to the venue. This whole venue is a complete joke, wouldn't recommend even if the event is free.

Yelp
I attended the Emma Gibbs Band concert on 12/28/19 with several family members, all of us excited to watch my brother-in-law perform! For most of the night we hung out next to an inactive bar to the right of the stage. About two hours into the show owner / operator Richard Emmett approached my wife in a very confrontational, aggressive and angry way all in an effort to intimidate. She was standing in the entrance to an inactive bar (nobody moving in and out) scrolling through her phone and apparently he didn't like her position and wanted her to move. If he would have approached her like a gentlemen problem solved; "would you mind standing over here instead we really don't like people being right there," or something similar in a customer friendly vibe. Instead Richard Emmett chose to be aggressive and intimidating to my wife in a very inappropriate manner. Needless to say I was beside myself. After my wife and I expressed our displeasure verbally and non-verbally (yes my wife gave him the finger) he had a handful of bouncers kick us out of the facility. Totally inappropriate, we were clearly not a threat to the facility and had done nothing wrong but tell him what we thought of the disrespectful way he approached my wife. The bouncers were confused; trying to dissolve a situation only to figure out there was nothing to dissolve. It was all about Richard's ego, not the situation. He told the bouncers to quit talking to us, take us out and they did. His own employees encouraged us to make this public stating Richard Emmett has major issues; it's not just this one situation. We won't be going back.
