The city’s vegan mainstay balances comfort and freshness—think bakery case treats, hearty plates, and gluten-free options. Consistently praised by local publications, it’s where plant-based dining wins over vegans and omnivores alike.

I love The Red Fern and make a point to eat here every time I visit Rochester. The menu offers a wide variety of both familiar and creative dishes, the food is fresh, delicious and healthy. I'm not big on desserts but there's usually a steady stream of customers dropping in just to buy cookies & baked goods to go. Whether it's busy or not, the staff are friendly and make you feel welcomed.

This restaurant was great! We were seated immediately. Our server, E, was friendly and attentive, even remembered all our orders without writing anything down! The food was delicious, came out quickly and the portions were generous enough that we all had leftovers. I wish we lived closer to make this a regular restaurant, but for now it'll definitely be a stop when we're driving through Rochester.

Google
Amazing vegan food. We love the strawberry fields salad 🍓, the fruit and cheez platter 🧀, the quesadilla, and all the delicious desserts. 🧁 So far we tried the maple tahini cups 🍁, the mango 🥭 rhubarb cake, the chocolate walnut blondie, and the lemon 🍋 blondie. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent!

The Red Fern is everything wrapped up in a perfect little package. The food is amazing, the customer service is just as amazing and you can sit outside to enjoy a delicious meal. There's just such a positive vibe at this place they really make sure you have a positive experience. OH! Make sure you try the deserts!! Everything from cheese cake to my favorite, TAHINI CUPS!! Absolutely delicious 🤤 Prices are more than reasonable. Parking is not bad, mostly street parking but ,that just gives you a little time to enjoy the area. Keep up the excellent work Red Fern!

This is a great restaurant. That just so happens to be vegan. I am a known non-vegan but the flavors and textures are definitely there and you cannot tell. Happy to support a cute place with good food at an affordable cost, guilt free. We had their pizza special which tasted exactly like cheese and salami. The Buddha bowl had sautéed kale and it did not taste like grass or straight iron. They give you good portions and you will not have any sluggish feeling after. Make a reservation if you can because they are definitely busy for a reason. It’s a park ave staple.

Google
It would look so much better if they covered the office desk, but to each their own. If we’re holding vegan/other specialty restaurants to the same standard as regular ones, I’d rate it a 3.5. If you don’t [pool it with the standard restaurant], 4 stars.

Google
We went to the Red Fern on a Thursday for lunch and were seated quickly on the patio. It was a lovely spot to sit and watch the people go by. This restaurant deserves all the good reviews. It's not just good for a vegan restaurant, it's just plain good! The menu was super diverse with lots of options for all preferences. I had the special which was a mexican rice bowl and our other guest had the chicken caesar wrap with sesame sticks. Both meals were outstanding. Delicious, ample portions and very fresh and flavourful. Our server was pleasant, timed his visits well and looked after us perfectly. I would definitely go back ... loved it.

Google
This place is amazing! As a newly vegan,, I'm missing the flavor and seasonings of what I ate for so many years, I'm so happy to have found Red Fern! The taste of their food is delicious I had a "Compost Plate" Alkaline drink, cheese and fruit tray & my daughter had a Buhdda Bowl! We were not disappointed at all.

Yelp
Our FAVORITE restaurant in Rochester NY! We eat there 2-4 times a month. They are the only fully vegan, full service restaurant in Rochester, and we are so happy to be able to go out to dinner and know we will have nice options to eat. And we love that they have specials, to give even more options! *Non-vegan restaurants think that offering salads and basic pasta dishes is accommodating to vegetarians/vegans but its not, we enjoy flavorful and diverse food just like carnivores. *Suggestion- need some kids meals.

Yelp
Service was very friendly and helpful. Love the location, sitting outside on a nice day is great people watching. Some real wingnuts come through. Food was mixed. The buffalo sandwich was really good, tangy slaw and their bleu cheese substitute is delicious. Got the Nashville hot sandwich, a special, and that was a bummer. Not spicy at all, and not much flavor either. The pickles had zero bite. Still, it was okay and we finished it. Included potato salad is delish. We tried two desserts, both really good. The one that was like a cherry pie biscuit was phenomenal. We tried one of their juices, and wow that was great. Their prices are super reasonable, especially for park ave. We will definitely return and try more stuff.

Yelp
Tried this spot for the first time last month - sandwiches were delicious- lentil Burger, tofu egg sandwich, steak bomb sandwich. We also hand a GF chocolate chip cookie which was also good. We are not vegan but do enjoy vegan food and we're already making plans to return with family/friends. The wait for our food was a bit long but understandable as it was a bit busy- obviously a popular take out place, too. The only thing I would change is not ordering sesame sticks as a side (no photo here). I wasn't sure what to expect and they just looked like the Trader Joe's sesame sticks.

Fabulous Flat Bread special 05.13.2025 Always a great option. Great food Great service

Yelp
The Red Fern serves its purpose incredibly well, and has a lovely, homey vibe, tucked away half-underground. The menu is entirely vegan and can be largely made gluten-free, and thus is an easy place to bring folks with dietary restrictions. However, the food is quite pricey for what you get, and despite my desire to really love the restaurant, I can never quite get there. The pastries and soups are the best things there, in my opinion, and the staff are very accommodating of other dietary needs such as allergies. I wish I could leave half-star reviews, because for me, Red Fern would sit at a solid 3.5. But honestly, their dedication to providing a completely vegan option in Rochester is commendable, and more than worth that extra piece of star.

Yelp
The most delicious birthday cake! Red Fern knocked this vegan Triple Chocolate Cake out of the Park! Not only was the cake flavorful and not dry, it was beautiful as well. When I went in to pick up the cake, it was a busy Saturday night. There was one person working the counter. She was friendly and let me know she'd be right with me. After I spoke to someone, they were attentive in getting my cake right out to me. The ambiance inside is comfy cozy, although I wasn't there this time to dine in. I will be returning soon for more cake orders and likely dinner or lunch. Thank you Red Fern for making his 40ish so special.

Yelp
Red Fern is always a win for me. I look forward to their weekly specials, and if I'm not feeling any of those my go-to meals are .. Buffalo Bleu, Steak Bomb, Compost Plate w/ lentil burger, and Steak & Potatoes. The Fruit and Cheese platter is a must for an appetizer ! And as far as desserts.. I've tried most and I'd say their cheesecake is pretty good. I'd pass on the regular cakes though as they can be dry from time to time. It's hit or miss. Cookies are sometimes too hard as well but still flavorful. Overall, 5 stars for me. I love this place and have been here well over 15-20 times. They're one of the only vegan places, if not THE only, that has consistent hours, and I can rely on them to be open from lunch until late. Whether I want a smoothie or a snack. And I should mention that I usually get my food to go unless I'm meeting with friends. But have eaten inside plenty of times. It can be tight in there, so I prefer sitting outside when I do. Staff is always super friendly, and my food is usually ready to go when I arrive to pick it up ... except one time I had to wait almost an extra 30 minutes... But that seems very rare. Parking can be a little annoying too, but they do have the back lot available until 5pm I believe .. and if you circle the streets long enough something will open up.

Yelp
The Compost Plate is fantastic. I loved that they are flexible and allowed me to swap the sweet potato salad (can't stand sweet potatoes) with mashed potatoes. Healthy and so delicious. Have been there twice now and both times the food and service were top-notch.

Yelp
I found their menu online as I was looking for someone for lunch on a day trip to Rochester. They are a vegan restaurant tucked into a little corner of a quaint building in the gorgeous Park Ave area of a Rochester. The red double doors into the place was my first awe moment! I'm very into the ambience of a restaurant. The inside is super sweet with white chairs and a home-like vibe. It is small, but we were there during daytime on a Friday so there was no wait at all. There is also some outdoor seating. I had the grilled cheese on sourdough with avocado. The cheese spilled over the sandwich! It was super tasty. I had a side salad with their signature balsamic. Delicious! They also have a good selection of smoothies that went down amazingly for the kids! They loved it. I ended my lunch with the most amazing rainbow sprinkle rice crispy treat! I highly recommend a visit to The Red Fern!

Yelp
Got the compost plate, juice, smoothie, and tea. All were amazing. The food is so flavorful! Even though it was a lot of food, I didn't feel like I was in a coma afterwards. The waiter was friendly and the food/drinks came out very quickly after we ordered. Overall a tinier restaurant with small tables and chairs. Felt a bit cramped at times but honestly given how good the food was, I didn't care. Definitely coming again.

Yelp
The food is always delicious and the service is top notch. I love the unique menu items and that the restaurant is excellent at accommodating my friends who have food allergies (eg gluten free). Very yummy desserts too.

Yelp
I can not recommend this place enough!! Vegan or not you will find great food here! If you are vegan or vegetarian or just trying to eat more plant based this is the perfect option. If you have never had vegan food or have no desire to go vegan you should still check this place out because it is just amazing high quality food! This a a small place in a great stretch of town. A lot of cool people coming through and a great and friendly staff. We started off with a veggie pizza which was the special for the day. It was delicious! I hadn't had many vegan pizzas before but this was very good. I got the buffalo chicken bacon ranch wrap and I don't think anyone would know that it was vegan if you didn't tell them! The wrap was huge. I wanted to eat the whole thing but I was stuffed after half. Now I have lunch for tomorrow! My partner got the compost plate. Which is their vegan, healthy version of a garbage plate. It was also delicious! We tried their banana split cake and their cheesecake. I was shocked at how good the cheesecake was! I have never had a vegan cheesecake before and I assumed it would be a tough dessert to pull off without plant products and they nailed it! So good! The prices are outrageously cheap! We got 2 entrees (which we ate half of) an appetizer 2 low dough burritos ($6!!!!) to go and 2 deserts for $80. Thats 6 high quality meals for $80. Such a deal.

Yelp
This is the first time I have been here. The first is so delicious. I recommend the compost plate. You won't be disappointed. Five stars all the way.

Yelp
I had never been here before, but we had an out of town vegan guest. Parking is atrocious, but it is Park Avenue, after all. We were promptly seated at an outside table, so it was a nice view of Park Avenue. A few of my company had beers, and we ordered the Mac N' Cheese Nachos. Pretty fresh ingredients with the kick of jalapeños. That went quickly! Lol Our other orders were: Grilled Cheese sandwich with a Mac and cheese side, a Buddha Bowl, and 2 Steak and Potatoes. For dessert was the salted caramel ice cream, pineapple blonde cheesecake. Our waitress, never got her name, was very pleasant and accommodating. I have food allergies, and she had someone (manager or cook) come and speak with me and help in choosing options. Loved that attention to my dietary requirements!Overall experience was an A and will definitely refer my vegan friends here.

Yelp
What a lovely all-vegan restaurant with delicious and wholesome food and really kind staff. Reminiscent of Organic Grill in Manhattan. Here is what I've had the opportunity to try so far: - Mac and cheese nachos: I was surprised by how much I liked these! Hearty and delicious. The perfect appetizer to share. BBQ tempeh was a great addition. - Buddha bowl: my favorite item. So healthy, so flavorful, so delicious. Every part of it is well-done. The coconut rice is so flavorful. The ginger dressing is perfect. The tofu is amazing. The beets are just the right texture. The pickled carrots and cabbage are an absolute flavor bomb. The sautéed kale is great and pulls everything together. - Simple green salad: just as it sounds and really fresh and lovely. Great balsamic dressing. - Lentil loaf: tasty and fun. Mashed potatoes are great. - Lentil burger: really good. Satisfying but not overly heavy. - Steak bomb sandwich with seitan steak on focaccia: really good hunks of well-seasoned seitan and packed with mushrooms, peppers, and onions - Cakes: decadent and really good. The banana peanut butter cake was unique and fun, with the cake layers almost tasting like banana bread. The mint Oreo cake was dense and chocolatey and delicious - Ginger oatmeal cookie: delicious! - Draft kombucha: love that they have this! They have a rotating flavor both from Aqua ViTea (elderberry at the time of my visit) and Katboocha (grapefruit lavender when I visited - yum) They're also really accommodating of different dietary limitations and actually have separate menus listing the options that are oil-free, nut-free, etc.

Yelp
This place is effing phenomenal. I've tried Budda bowl, a special, and the ABLT. I never knew vegan food could be so delicious. Additionally the servers are quite helpful and explain items when you have questions. I'm having them cater a portion of my rehearsal dinner.

Yelp
First visit for me was a bit of a let down Seemed disorganized and chaotic Waited quite awhile to be seated for our reservation Service very slow Outdoor seating was right where the cars idled while running in for pick up Had nachos and a compost plate - tasty but pretty heavy Did a blonde brownie sundae and brownie was super dry

Yelp
I LOVE Red Fern's concept (I am a vegetarian). Plant based food that isn't boring - woohoo! I've eaten here semi-regularly since its opening, and did one of their Valentine's Day prix fixe dinners a few years back. My favorite meals are the buffalo bleu sandwich and the warrior wrap. They offer creative entree specials, including the recent and tasty cherry BBQ tofu with baked beans, cornbread, and peach coleslaw. For standard meals, the side of greens that comes with meals is very lightly dressed and I find I need to add my own dressing. The sesame sticks are a fun crunchy side option too. I'm not a huge fan of the vegan cookies - they are crumbly/crunchy and overly sweet, but the jam bars are amazeballs and I get them at Fuego whenever they are available. For August they made a cake version of the jam bar and it was delicious! Let's talk about the parking - oh sweet lord, the parking. If you get there before 5pm, you can park behind the building if there are spots available (this is hit or miss). After 5pm, good luck. I've circled around side streets trying to find a place to park more often than not. I order Doordash to work for lunch maybe once every other month to get my fix and to avoid the parking nonsense. The coolest thing Red Fern does besides whip up delicious food is their "Year of Vegan Giving" program, during which they pick a monthly recipient of donations to animal-related causes. Check out their donation posts on social media!

Yelp
Mac Cheese was awesome though it was a bit greasyI ordered it twice while I was in Rochester. It would be awesome if it could have a bit more green salad , so I ended up ordering a side of salad!
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the lentil burger. It was a pile of mush, not cooked at at. Flavors were great, but really? I was looking for inspiration as a new vegitarian and sadly didn't find it here.

Yelp
Vegan restaurant in the Park Ave area with varied menu. We ordered the Lentil Burger & Warrior Wrap with Avocado Spread, Iced Tea & Sunrise Juice as drinks. The lentil burger was tasty, with Mac Salad, delicious it was a great choice. Iced tea The Warrior wrap with avocado spread was very good too with a side of mashed sweet potato. Sunrise Juice. Very nice young man as our server al fresco meal. A return visit is required.

Yelp
Love the Compost plate with the buffalo tempe! My absolute fave! I also love the Buddha bowl! We usually get take out and everything has always been spot on!

Yelp
Yum. If you've never tried vegan cuisine but always wanted to, come to this little gem in Rochester. Try cool foods like sweet potato...salad? Not sure but it was massively delicious. I had an incredible lentil burger with "the works" vegan cheese, vegan bacon, avocado. So wonderful. Nice people and so welcoming. Found a new favorite.

Yelp
So much to love here: the food is incredible, the service is so personal and kind, and location/restaurant itself is wonderful. We had one of the best vegan lunches here. The steak and potatoes includes some of the best seitan I've had, and do not skip dessert - the cheesecake particularly is so similar to non-vegan cheesecake so if you're like me and miss cheesecake - go there and get it ASAP!

Yelp
Amazing people. Amazing service! Took my grandma in here for her 83rd birthday and our waitress was so patient with her. So full of joy we felt like we had been best buds with her for life. Food was amazing even for someone like me who isn't vegan gf or any of the things.

Yelp
The pumpkin and squash fettuccine alfredo was absolutely divine! It's listed as a seasonal/special item but I wish they would make it a regular staple because it's the best thing I've ever had from Red Fern. The mint chocolate cake is still delish. We tried their pumpkin chai cake and the cookie sandwich and both were extremely dry and crumbly :(, yet flavorful. For the cake, maybe brushing a light syrup on the layers before assembling and icing the cake would help with that. I've tried several of their bakery items and the only one that's been consistently good has been the mint chocolate cake slice. Their serving sizes also aren't very consistent. The protein in my friend's vegan steak dish was barely there this time when usually they give about 1/2 a cup's worth. I've had it happen to me when getting mac and cheese in the past. I guess it depends on who's working the kitchen shift and if they're feeling generous. I love the atmosphere and cozy ambiance inside the cafe.

Bren L.

Yelp
There's something special about going down a few stairs into what feels like a cozy little hole beneath ground-level. You're met with a peak at the excessive dessert case (all vegan, some gf) but soon forget because some smiling faces are eager to whisk you away to the main event. It felt nice that there was a daily special even though i was set on the chick'n bac'n ranch (sub bleu cheese for ranch and add some pickled vegetables). How this massive thing was only $11.00 is beyond me. Best wrap i have had in quite some time. Only ate half. My partner saved half of her lentil loaf dinner as well. It definitely hit for her so i'm thankful since i dragged us off our route and added a good hour to our trip. If i lived in Rochester i would come here regularly.

Yelp
Such a cute little restaurant. We came on a snowy day and warmed up with the potato corn chowder, which was yummy. The star of the meal was the buffalo flatbread. I could eat that every day. For entrees we got the steak and potatoes and the bangers sandwich. Both were good , but would probably try something else next time. For dessert we got the mint chocolate cake (a little rich for me without a glass of oat milk) and the lemon cheesecake donut, which was delectable!!

Yelp
The Cesar salad was as always, to die for! The service is always exceptional! The steak plate was perfection! The lighting and vib was perfect for a chess match!

Yelp
Food is delicious, desserts are amazing. Cute place. Service is good. Parking is a challenge.

Yelp
I can't believe I have yet to review Red Fern! Like many RF lovers - I am not a vegan. In fact, I don't really think of it as a vegan restaurant, just a really wonderful spot that happens to serve exclusively vegan food. The only thing I have ordered that I haven't loved is the tempeh - which was a mistake on my part as the dish itself (anywhere) just isn't for me. When I am absolutely starving, I love ordering a compost plate with tofu. The sweet potato salad is serious comfort food and the maple tofu is cooked to perfection. The greens are great compliment to the dish, and whatever dressing they use is tangy and delicious. The mac salad is better than most of the non-vegan mac salads I've had on garbage plates around town. At $12.50, I'm full for like...12 hours. A bargain in my book! Outdoor seating is wonderful in the summertime, and people are missing a wonderful culinary opportunity if they shy away from Red Fern because it is "for vegans." It is a welcoming and wonderful business that anyone will enjoy.

Susan L.

Yelp
My mood was just lifted for the evening by the kind and gracious service at Red Fern. I ordered online our usual Buddha Bowls (highly recommend) and I got a robo-text saying my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I texted back to please let me know if it's ready any sooner. Immediately, my phone rings and a friendly voice asks if I'd like to pick it up in a just a few minutes; they will have it ready. Then, when I arrive, I ask if I can get a cookie and put it on my card from the online order as I came in without a card. The young man behind the counter said they can no longer charge the online card, so it is on the house! What a class act!

Yelp
This place made me like vegetarian food! Gorgeous ambience & delicious dishes. Try the seitan
google avatar

Stephanie B.

Yelp
The service has always been uncomfortable at best, but abysmal at worst. The blonde lady behind the main counter has consistently been extremely rude and gossips openly about customers & work drama. The line cooks are clowns for the most part, all older/middle aged that I've observed and still have no clue how to slap together a salad Everyone is so rude here, the staff is SO toxic and I've never seen a more unhappy & unharmonious atmosphere in any other restaurant establishment. The food is terrible too, the baked macaroni is DRY and also the food tastes old. I've had numerous salads with gross, slimy pieces of greens (again, incompetence at best on the line "cook"s part), and my kids used to really enjoy eating here, but now they would literally rather eat takeout from the Wegman's pre-packaged options, (un)surprisingly those taste worlds better than anything at the Red Fern that's not pre-packaged from another distributor. The staff seems very content to flirt and mess around with one another than do their own jobs. It's a shame, truly. Could have so much potential, but the staff needs some very very serious re-evaluating.

Yelp
On a 75 degree April evening, after a nice walk in Highland Park, we decided to find a spot to eat outdoors. We saw an open table at Red Fern- one of our favorite vegan restaurants. Don't get me wrong- I love meat- but Red Fern has some great tasting dishes and I don't miss the meat. We ordered the 2 specials - so we didn't get our usual Compost Plate and Buddha Bowl we love. We split the 2 dishes- a Carrot and zucchini risotto with asparagus with a lemon side salad and a flatbread with "chicken" and "bacon" , mozzarella, garlic oil, banana peppers and red onions with a side of ranch dressing. The risotto was creamy and full of flavor. And my wife loved the grilled lemon on the salad. She ate them! The flat bread pizza helped fill out the meal with a nice crust- and loads of flavor. There was plenty to watch as Park Ave was busy with walkers, bicyclists, motorcycles and hot cars. They are not serving meals indoors yet. And we didn't sample the awesome desserts that Red Fern is known for. Another great visit to Red Fern!

Yelp
I'm not vegan by any means, but if I were, I'd frequent this place as much as possible. Came here with my friend for her birthday dinner and was blown away by how good the food was! I ordered the Buffalo Bleu sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and honestly couldn't believe it was 100% vegan. The tempeh on the sandwich was delicious and I loved the pickled vegetables on top. The gravy on the potatoes tasted like the traditional kind your grandma makes on thanksgiving. They also had a case full of desserts that looked delicious, unfortunately I was too full to try! Loved the cozy feel on the inside. Minimalist decor with white walls made me feel some type of way. The service was good as well! Our waitress was very attentive. The prices were decent and I was overall very satisfied with our time there. Will have to stop back next time I'm in Roc.

Yelp
You don't need to be vegetarian/vegan to have an incredible meal here! Everything they serve here is fresh, filling, and delicious--and that's coming from a pretty big meat lover. I ordered the compost plate--a vegan version of Rochester's classic garbage plate--and it was incredible. The sauce was savory, the mac salad was creamy, and both paired well with the sweet potato mash. I chose the lentil burger for my protein, and everything came together perfectly. There are a lot of misconceptions about vegetarian/vegan food being only salads, or other really light fare, but Red Fern has a great selection of sandwiches and plates to prove that you're not missing much by going vegan! Also definitely try their desserts (they have them on display as you walk in so it's hard to resist). We ordered the chocolate mint oreo cake, and it was divine. It was super rich and chocolately--I wouldn't have been able to tell it was vegan. It only had a hint of mint, and even if you weren't a fan of mint chocolate, you'd enjoy this cake. The restaurant is very cozy and warmly decorated. They have tables inside and outside, for when the weather is nice, it makes for a great lunch or dinner setting by Park Ave. Prices are very reasonable for what you get, and we both ended up taking leftovers back with us. You can't go wrong with Red Fern! Especially if you're not vegan, it's a great place to open your eyes to how great vegan fare can be. It's absolutely worth a visit.

Yelp
Im gluten and dairy free and this has been a god send. There are so many delicious options that I havent been able to try everything but I want to! The smoothies are some of my favorite with no added sugar which is amazing! Can't recommend it enough
google avatar

Jenna P.

Yelp
I struggle to find gluten free foods that are vegetarian and also low on onions and garlic. Red fern manages to cover all those bases and has a great gluten free baked good selection too. The compost plate is delicious and so are all the sweets!
google avatar

Yen P.

Yelp
I have to write this update as I just tried their compost plate and omg it was amazing!! The space has been emptied out to only accommodate take out and boy are they busy, especially on a Saturday night! Best to place your order online a few hours ahead of time. I also had to wait a little bit after my pick up time because they were swamped. Both my boyfriend and I got the compost plate. I had the buffalo tempeh and the maple tofu for my protein. Everything was just sooooo flavorful. The buffalo tempeh is my favorite of all time at the Red Fern. It's tangy and spicy, has a chewy meaty texture and is very filling. I loved the sweet potato base as it was sweet but a little spicy (?) The meat sauce I got was also on the spicy side but was also so flavorful and unique. The pasta salad was such a great milder taste to offset everything else. AND THE GLUTEN FREE BREAD?? THIS WAS DELICIOUS!!! I want to buy a whole loaf!!! I think everything goes really well together and it's hard to describe each component as they all taste great together! I also tried the matcha macadamia cookie. It's vegan and gluten free! I loved it, it was mildly sweet and just a great treat!
google avatar

Adina S.

Yelp
I am not a vegan, just enjoy a lot of vegan food and had a great experience here. I got the compost plate and it is a great amount of food for the price. Their buffalo tempeh is some of the best I ever had. Went with a big party of vegans, and meat eaters and everyone found something that they loved and enjoyed. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I've been a fan of Red Fern for as long as it's existed. The appetizers, the small plates, the large plates, the sides, the desserts... everything is exceptional. There isn't much more to say. It's a staple of my eating-out routine.

Yelp
The food is great and the staff is very friendly to customers dining in. If you plan on eating here that will be your best experience. My gripe with the restaurant which leads to my lower star rating is purely as a delivery driver. The friendliness that is given to customers goes straight out the window for delivery drivers and any sense of expediency goes along with it. Frequently "just 10 more minutes" becomes 20-30 and when asked for a realistic timeframe we are met with all shoulders and "it'll be up when it is up." The kitchen seems to heavily prioritize dine in as customers coming in off the street after my arrival will be served appetizers and entrees before the delivery order which had been in their system already is finished. They seem to have no appreciation for the fact that we aren't paid per hour, but by the delivery and could care less about the fact that it gets in the way of a delivery driver making a living wage for wait times to be so long. It is sad to see that the friendliness is two-faced and that they can't seem to run the kitchen in the fairest method of first ticket in first out. Overall, it's a nice place with great food. But much better if you're dining in rather than ordering out.

Yelp
I'm glad i finally was able to try this place. The location is great, right off of Park Avenue and there is parking on site too. They are open for outdoor seating only at this time and desserts are available to go. The food was okay. I thought it was a very creative and original menu with many options. The best part is that they have menus to accommodate all allergies- i.e soy, gluten free. All items are vegan too. I got the compost plate. It was good but I wish the sweet potatoes were warm. The "meat" hot sauce was fantastic and I couldn't even tell a difference in flavor. If you're looking for vegan or allergy friendly options- this is your place.

Yelp
A great spot for a healthy meal! I was impressed by their menus, as they can accommodate many food restrictions. It took a little while for the food to be made but it was worth the wait.

Yelp
Overrated. Serves its purpose for Rochester's lackluster vegan options. Haven't changed much on their menu in years. Food has gotten me sick on multiple occasions. Vegan of 7 years.

Yelp
To start off, I'm not vegan, but that doesn't stop me from exploring places that have quality food. Red Fern is definitely of quality. While the location is basement-dwelling on one of the busier stops on Park Ave, don't let that fool you. It certainly is beautiful inside and seats a fair amount of people cozily. All of the dining options are vegan, so it made life easy peasy for selecting. And we went with staples: the Composte Plate and Mac and Cheese Nachos. Again, I'm not a vegan, nor even a vegetarian, so sampling these awesome flavors and dishes was awe-inspiring to me. They substitute meats so seamlessly that you would have no clue, nor any care, that it was anything else. Purely delicious. The staff was friendly, attentive and patient, especially given how busy it was during the dinner rush on a Saturday. The whole experience was excellent, and I look forward to going back.

Yelp
The food is not bad, however, make sure you always have extra time on week days to get your order, and maybe the whole day over a weekend (either if you were dining in or ordering online). Thier online order system is not accurate at all, they will tell you it's gonna take 10/15 minutes and you end up waiting for an hour. In general the food is alright but the service is super slow.
