Google
Absolutely awesome place to get drinks and have fun or go watch the game. It's nice that you can watch sports with the audio on! Grudge bar downstairs with a hipster feel. It's all around pretty cool! Teddys on the Hill/The Red Hat..

Google
The vibes here are great. If you want a small bar where you can casually have drinks with friends I highly recommend this bar. It also will always have sports games on if that's your thing. I have seen rats in the bar later at night, but that added to the charm in my opinion.

Google
I come here all the time and always enjoy it. Great food, and service. I highly recommend the pizza.

Google
AWESOME burgers! Came here with my colleague because we realized, "It's National Burger Day!" And they were surprised to see us at 10:59AM at their pub READY TO EAT BURGERS when they open at 11AM. But they responded quickly, and the Breakfast Burger was DELICIOUS - salty, perfect bacon, standard cheddar cheese (great choice), airy WAFFLE FRIES, mmmmm. The Classic Burger was great too! Both burgers came with fluffy Kaiser buns and fresh pickles. The Onion Rings were crisp, hot, and addictive. I'd go back in a heart beat! Just so you know, very Boston Bar - the staff a little uninterested in you regarding service, but like, they were on top of their sh*t. So attentive to detail, they cut our burgers in half because we were splitting, and they came out quick with the goods. Just embrace the Boston Flavor, beyond the food, and you'll be in burger bar heaven.

Jake was an awesome bartender. Drinks were superb, and the vibe was great. If and when I come back to Boston, this is my goto bar.

Google
Loved it. We took a short cut walking back to the car after doing the Freedom Trail. Better prices than other bars in the area. Super super nice bartender. We just had a quick drink but the food looked and smelled amazing.

Google
Visited on December 26, 2024. The bartender seemed drunk and, after questioning a $1 bill, randomly called me a homophobic slur. Completely unacceptable behavior. Avoid this place.

Google
Delicious Food, Comfortable Atmosphere, Friendly Service and Great Prices made this the perfect place to eat before our concert at the Orpheum Theatre.

Yelp
Loved this bar! Food was great, drinks were excellent and well priced especially for the area.

Yelp
Solid dive bar. Nothing fancy, but if you are looking to watch a game/hangout with friends and eat some bar food I would recommend. I enjoyed their wings and nachos. I don't think their bar pies are worth it.

Yelp
Chill dive-y bar. I was expected more of a sports bar, but it ended up being an OK experience to watch part of the Celtics game that evening. The place wasn't busy, so it was easy to get a spot at the bar and get immediate service. Their menu has a few funny items like bartender's choice cocktails that come with a random free gift (such as a baseball cap). The buffalo wings were not bad. Good flavor and tender. I just wish they had been served piping hot. Good for a quick drink or bite.

Yelp
Came to Teddy's to watch some sports and get some wings . Traditional sports bar feel with all the fixings . They actually seemed a little understaffed at the time ( which is the trend these days). I ordered some buffalo wings and fries with beer . Wings were good as well as the fries . Nice choice in a competitive maaaaaarket in Boston

Yelp
Overall experience was great. First time here since they changed from the original name/owner (?) of the restaurant. Tenders were great! Mac & cheese was delicious Steak tips were ok. Service was wonderful!!! I definitely recommend, especially if you're looking for a quick bite before heading to the TD Garden!

Yelp
What can I say.... Creed is my life. I live by a "Creed" with my devotion to this band. Every time I played a Creed song the bartender was happy to skip. While the beer flows like the Niagara, and the women are voluptuous, I can't get over the general lack of respect for my favorite band, Creed.

Yelp
I am so beyond disappointed in this experience. I just landed back in Beantown with my childhood friend. and she thought this would be a fun charming spot before our concert.. as we entered the establishment we were asked "Do you have a reservation?" not "Hello"Good Evening" Welcome to Teddys "" How may I help You" no that traditional minimal customer service was no where to be found. In stead we were greeted by an angry blond bartender... whose name I didnt get. my friend gave her the name , which she looked up then berated us because we were so late. Literally we were 20 minutes late for our rezzo. Due to complications with construction from the airport. I explained to the rude bartender I had just flown in from California and apologized for the late ness due to my flight and construction.. at the time I didnt realize we were only 20 minutes late.. Meanwhile the bar had 1person sitting there. our rezzo was for two bar seats. and a couple of tables occupied.. approx 20% full.... We were told we could sit at a table in the upper landing.. She also told my friend she loses some status on "Open Table" like we even cared about that at the moment. the bartender dropped two glasses of water. Not even trying to explain her rudeness. i was in shock. to be honest. Ive been a server, bartender ,cocktail server and managed restaurants for the last 30 years and I have never been spoken so rudely to upon arrival... it was beyond a disappointment and a shock to my nervous system. Needless to say we promptly left and found an AMAZING warm restaurant where the host gladly sat us and found a two top in a very busy restaurant "Johnnies" which I highly recommend... I don't usually write negative reviews ,Yet ,I felt so awful about that experience I would never want others to experience that... I understand we all have an off day. Yet this woman should bot be behind a bar or in any customer service position. There was another blond bartender standing next to her,who said nothing ~ I hope the manager reads this and rectifies the situation.

Yelp
Stopped by here on a Friday night with some co workers. We opted to sit downstairs as it felt more laid back. Most of us ordered beers but I did try one of their cocktails. The cocktails aren't very pretty looking lol but they taste pretty good and there's a decent amount of alcohol in them. I also ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza and it was delicious. It's more of a 'personal' size pizza that can serve 1-2 people. I also tried the prosciutto & fig pizza but found the chicken bacon ranch to be much more savory. Overall a good spot for post work food and drinks! We will be back!

Yelp
I've been to Teddys a few times now and every time I go, I get so full from eating so much good food! I've never had just an okay meal here; every time it's amazing. You can't go wrong when ordering. HIGHLY recommend the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. The nachos are also sooo good and massive. They have an upstairs and downstairs bar. The upstairs takes reservations and is better for getting dinner. The downstairs is more of a dive bar vibe with skeeball! They also have specials almost every day of the week and have sport watch parties.

Yelp
Great dive bar! I loved getting lunch and a few beers before the Red Sox game at Teddy's. We visited on a busy Saturday afternoon during marathon weekend and there was only one bartender. He took great care of us, refilled our drinks and took care of our food, all by himself. Everything we had was super tasty. I drank the Sam Adams marathon beer, but it looked like there was a wide selection of cocktails and specialty drinks. I loved the old school vibe and the tagged bathroom. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Boston!

Yelp
First time checking out teddys. We came on a Saturday evening around 7. There is both an upstairs and a downstairs. I wasn't sure which was the place to go so we went downstairs. We sit down at a table and a bartender came up to us and informed us that the kitchen shut down due to some issues that he didn't explain more about. We were fine with that and he offered us some snacks and said they were ordering pizza for those who wanted to eat. We started off with recycling bins, which came in actual mini recycling bins. They came from some discounted liquor that they get every week. It was alright, I couldn't figure out what liquor it was. Then we switched to cocktails we knew we'd like. Overall, good experience- super friendly staff, and good drinks!

Yelp
TEDDY'S ON THE HILL (Downstairs) Sometimes you just need to jump in to a new situation feet first, and that is exactly what we did when we visited Beacon Hill's "Teddy's"! And we are so glad that we did! A hidden hole-in-the-wall of Bowdoin Street, we were not sure what to expect from this secluded establishment! Stepping inside though, we knew we were in for a good time! Split between the "upstairs" and the "downstairs" allows you to choose the vibe you are going for - and we were in the dive bar spirit, so down we went! And excellent night hosted by their great bartender, Jeff, was filled with pints of Lord Hobo's '617' and Harpoon IPAs, but we also tried something we thought was quite special and endearing: TO THE JULY CHARITY COCKTAIL Strawberry, Aperol, Lemonade, & Bubbles! It's truly awesome to see local bars giving back to the local community, specifically here where the proceeds from each month's libation goes to a rotating Massachusetts charity! Plus, you gotta love the cocktail names this dive bar has, from the 'Tito's And Vodka' (a Vodka Soda) to the 'It's Keto' (a Tequila Shot) - it's quite a laugh! It wouldn't be a night at a dive bar though without a few rounds of Skee-ball, and some much needed bar bites: PUB PRETZEL with a Cheese Sauce! NACHOS with Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream, Guacamole, & Spicy Tomatillo Salsa Verde! This is a great local, that we can't wait to spend many a night at! In addition, we can't wait to come for Part Il of this review, and check out the "upstairs." * * *Have you been to "Teddy's"? Which stairs did you take? Let us know! And as usual, which Boston bar should we check out next week? * *

Yelp
Fun spot for some drinks or late night food. The wings are AMAZING, as are the cauliflower bites. It's a cool vibe and usually the people there are pretty cool, and aside from some of the staff being kind of snooty sometimes no one there really seemed annoying or uppity. A good spot for a drink and to check out their unique paintings on the walls.

Betsy K.

Yelp
The staff is fantastic - especially Gaelan! Ask for the B-squared and to roll the dice, you won't regret it.

Elizabeth F.

Yelp
Staff greeted us by asking-without a hello--if we had a reservation then telling us that we were super late (20 min) and that we could sit if we wanted to but that we would still lose open table points. Since there were only 3 tables and 3 barstools occupied, the lack of interest in welcoming guests was surprising and unpleasant so we chose to leave. Ended up with extremely pleasant server at nearby establishment.

Dave G.

Yelp
Just meh Kind of dark and gloomy. Being so close to the North End, there's better food options. Not great, not terrible, just ok bar food.

Yelp
Food is great can't go wrong with any item on the menu. Remember it's a bar so drinks are good too..

Yelp
Placed an order on the website . My food was made and sitting waiting for the delivery driver.. 1 1/2 hour passed no food delivered to me . I canceled my order through the website. Teddy on the hill still proceeded to charge me for food I didn't receive. I called both teddy's and delivery service both tried to put the blame on each other. Now teddys has no records or receipts of my order. This place is bad news It's been almost a month since this incident has happened and there still hasn't been any resolve. Buyer beware!

Yelp
Came to Teddy's a whim as I was in the area to see family. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and the decor. They have a few "pop art" works in the wall that are very appealing. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza cause who doesn't love those ingredients?!? I was happy with their offering of a south shore bar pizza. Nelson was an amazing bartender that was very knowledgeable in drinks as I enjoy having some off the beaten path beverages. A black tea shot mixed to perfection, a Cosmo with the right amount of like juices. And they had this fabulous cocktail that supported domestic violence that i thoroughly enjoyed it contained absolut mandarin with soda and pineapple juice. They made an exceptional cocktail that made giving to charity an easy choice. I was told that the charity changed every month and it made my heart melt. A business choosing to give back means so much to me because sometimes I feel like that gets lost in the grand scheme of things. I ended the night with an order of chicken dumplings which came with some sweet chili sauce on the side that added a lil spicy kick to then that took them over the top. I can't wait to visit this location again. Their playlist was also exceptional, there was a few songs that interrupted it because it was run by TouchTunes so the vibe was as consistent as I would have liked. Who doesn't like New York centric hip hop during a casual dinner!!!

Yelp
Jeff and Shaun are absolutely amazing! I had the best time of my life I love it here and the food is always amazing it's a super friendly environment and I will always come back. #bingbong

Yelp
Food was ok until we saw a COCKROACH crawling on their brick wall! Told the waitress who was super rude and she did nothing like she was used to it! Gross experience all around!

Yelp
Solid weekday dinner of fish and chips at this unpretentious spot. Fish was cooked right, maybe a little heavy on the breading. Fries were a huge portion. Cole slaw was fresh. Table service was friendly (by Boston standards) and quick. Music is a little loud, and I admit that hearing Green Day while seeing the Westminster Dog Show on the TV was odd. But not in a bad way.

Yelp
Best wings I've ever had - grilled with lemon pepper or bbq is my fave. Staff is fantastic and very accommodating. I watch a lot of sports here and love it. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great vibes and atmosphere. Staff is very friendly, approachable. Drink prices are spot on and reasonable. Food was good. Customer controlled jukebox...fantastic idea. Overall, great experience and would visit frequently.

Yelp
Beacon hill residents here excited to head back to a familiar, old watering-hole. My girlfriend and I visited the downstairs of Teddy's in hope of a rejuvenated take on the outdated Red Hat. Instead, what we experienced was the exact same layout--bar, bathroom, high tops, and glassware was all rundown and unchanged. Despite the known sewage and plumbing issues from the past, we were disgusted by the dripping dirt/rust from the above tile as we sat at the downstairs bar. Same bar but heightened prices. I gave this 2 stars only because the Buffalo tenders were good.

Yelp
As others have mentioned, this place used to be Red Hat. In its old incarnation, it was a dirty dive bar. I'm a local resident and have only been there a few times in the last several years. I think some of the old staff bought out this place from the previous owners and relaunched it as Teddy's On The Hill. Not 100% sure about this. Last week a friend and I decided to check out the new Teddy's On The Hill and see if there are any upgrades/changes. I can't comment on the downstairs bar as we went straight to the upstairs one. The layout is largely the same with some slight updates to the decor. The place definitely has a more upscale feel compared to the old bar. They didn't rebuild the whole thing but given it a bit of a facelift. They did a particularly nice job with the velvet (I think) bar chairs which are classy and comfortable. There are new paintings on the wall which are pretty cool. Feels a bit of a speakeasy plus dive bar vibe - in a good way. When we came in there were three or four bartenders/servers hanging around the bar area. They all seemed really friendly and went out of their way to talk to us. I think one of them (guy with curly hair) has some professional cocktail bar experience. The service was fast and friendly. The menu has some usual staples along with innovative cocktails and even a few unique shots. A draft of Bud Light was $6 which is a good price point. We had the lemon pepper dry rub wings which were really good. My friend even ordered some to-go before we left. There are a few TV's in the bar area so I think this could be a good place to watch a game. I am a big fan of the new and improved bar and will certainly be visiting in the future.

Yelp
This use to be called the Red Hat, a local bar. We went to the new incarnation (the original Red Hat sign is still up outside, a nice touch) last night. It's only been open about a week. Our bartender, Bella, was super sweet and recommended the chicken fingers and fries, and she was right! Fingers were very yummy and the fries done to perfection. The only ding I give them is they are letting right wing politics seep into an otherwise lovely place. They don't check for vaccination status (currently required by Boston) and they ran News Max channel on the TV over the bar. (I've never seen the work "woke" used that much!) Overhead conversation was mostly grumbles about missing the good old days of Trump. If you're a righty, you'll probably fit right in!

Tara M.

Yelp
My fiancé and I are in town for a weekend getaway. We searched for a place to have a quick drink and Teddys on the Hill popped up. As soon as we stepped in, we knew we had made the right choice. We felt immediately at home with sports playing in the background and a welcoming "hello" from the owner. After looking at the menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food that was offered. We ordered a mozzarella and tomato panini with pesto and side salad that was out of this world! While we ate, Jake, the owner, chatted with us and gave us suggestions on other places to see in the area. If you're in Boston, this is a must!

Trish C.

Yelp
I stopped for lunch and sat at the bar. Totally indifferent bartender. She never asked me if I wanted a drink. I ordered the blt club. Twenty minutes later, no sandwich and the bartender had disappeared. She returned. I asked about the sandwich. "It's coming." Ten minutes later, no sandwich and no bartender. I left. How long does it take to assemble a blt when the bacon has already been cooked? BTW, there was only 1 other party in the bar.

Jess L.

Yelp
The two blonde bartenders that were working on 01/20/23 were very rude to our party. After asking if we can sit at the tables, they continuously stated that they were reserved for a party that was coming in. We stayed at Teddys from 7:30-12:00 and not a single party came into the place or sat at the "reserved" tables. Several of us were standing at the bar waiting to be serviced while the bartenders were talking to one another and not paying attention/ignoring our party. When asking what beers were on tap, their response was "there's menus at the table." Very disappointed with the employees at this establishment.

Danielle C.

Yelp
Such a cool little hidden spot. The basement is where to go. Excellent service, great drinks, and the food should not be missed -- steak salad was delicious and HUGE. Games in basement are also casual fun. We will be back!

Jeff T.

Yelp
Excellent neighborhood bar in Beacon Hill! Great food, drinks, and music! Bartenders are phenomenal, especially the one named Brian. He would be so beautiful if he shaved his beard, but still pours an amazing drink. Highly recommend.

Cathleen G.

Yelp
Courtney and her staff were amazing! We hosted parties at the upstairs at Teddy's on the Hill two weekends in a row and both groups had a wonderful time. The food was great, the room was set beautifully, the staff was very attentive. I have run many, many events and I highly recommend using Teddy's for a party.
