Red Hen Conspiracy Theories Erupt After Restaurant Ejects Sarah Huckabee Sanders | Eater

"The unrelated Swedesboro location and its managing partner Elizabeth Pope said they received more than 600 phone calls and widespread online attacks in the wake of the controversy; the restaurant posted on Facebook asking people to check their facts before defaming an innocent business that welcomes all customers regardless of race, religion, views, or opinions." - Whitney Filloon

First timers to this adorable spot after visiting an nearby attraction. The atmosphere was cool, inviting, spacious, and welcoming. The staff was very kind. Although a couple of the items we ordered were no longer available but still on the menu(waitress said it wasn’t updated yet) the items we did order were fresh, aesthetically pleasing and packed with flavor. The flavor combinations are on point. The menu has a crowd pleasing selection. The outdoor seating available makes the entrance more inviting. We will certainly be back! And thanks to Maddie that was our super sweet waitress.

We went there Friday before Labor Day. First time there and will definitely be back. The food was amazing! We ordered pretzels, which were home made and the size of rolls (never had pretzels so fresh). They came with beer cheese (so good) and mustard. We also enjoyed the Italian pizza - (SO flavorful and the dough is made from scratch) and the short rib sandwich (melted in your mouth). We were so full, we unfortunately couldn’t try dessert. Prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality of food. Service was excellent. We had a seasoned server along with a trainee - both were great. The Chef came out to greet us and ask how everything was. It was a 10 from start to finish… can’t wait to go back!

The Red Hen is a great place for a meal. It’s a large restaurant, with a full bar and delicious food. The drinks were well made and generous. Our waitress was very attentive, the food came out quickly, and as ordered. Large family with kids at a nearby table had a great time and their monster cookie with ice cream looked delicious - we had the bread pudding for dessert, and it was delicious. The restaurant is very manageable and accessible. There are steps leading up to the bar (from the restaurant side), but one could wheel in they the bar’s front door. There are tables outside as well (in front and at the back). Clean, large bathrooms. Street parking was easy, but there’s also a parking lot.

New to the area and just stopped in to meet with friends. I had the cheese steak egg rolls and espresso martini. Our server was Mikayla and I couldn't believe how attentive she was to our needs with the bar as busy as it was. The food was good the drinks were GREAT and the attention to service was so spectacular and heart felt it really made us feel seen in a crowd. 10/10 will be back and would recommend!

Not impressed. I had heard so many good things about Red Hen, so when I was meeting two friends for lunch, I insisted we try it out. The service was great. Super friendly and attentive waitstaff. Everything else was pretty mid. It was shocking to see zero fun non-alcoholic beverage options. No coffee drinks, no mocktails, but... I saw the alfogato on the menu, so I ordered that without the liquor. Our server came back to let me knew they only had decaf espresso (what?!?!). I got a water and the chicken and wild rice soup. It was decent. Served in a big bowl with no crackers. My one friend saw the bourbon pecan bread pudding on the menu a week in advance and knew she was going to get that. It was actually our deciding factor in going here. When we arrived, the first thing she did was ask if they had it (just to be sure, since sometimes places run out). She had a dish she was going to order as a backup, if they didn't have her dessert, but when they confirmed they had it, she went with her original plan and got a white pizza, which I will say smelled delicious. My other friend got a fresh salad and a crock of French onion soup. Her soup looked underwhelming, especially being served in the diner capital of the world, and she confirmed it wasn't that great. So back to the bread pudding. The time has come for the pièce de résistance. My friend put in her order. Don't you know, the server comes back to say they're OUT OF VANILLA ICE CREAM! The disappointment on my friend's face. I get it. It happens. But she checked before ordering anything! I wanted to like this place so badly. The vibe is cool, the location is great. But I wasn't impressed by anything. I wouldn't choose to go again, but if friends were going, I'd join them and give it another go.

The Good - One of the all time greatest beer lists: The Seed, Other Half, Bissell Bros, Root + Branch, etc. Truly awesome. Always good service and atmosphere, very family friendly. The Bad - The food has been going downhill lately. Smaller portions, worse quality. Most recently got served a "cubano" that was just a slice of ham, a slice of Swiss cheese, dry pickle spears, and a ton of plain yellow mustard on a toasted hot dog bun; no roasted pork. I've ordered this before, a year or two ago, and it was great, but this time was the saddest "cubano" I've ever seen. Other food has been a little disappointing lately, too. I used to really like this place, and BlkShp next door is amazing. Hopefully they can fix whatever is wrong with the kitchen and bring the food back up to the same level as the beer menu. I'd come here more often if they did. As is, I don't know if it's worth the price given other options.

Mikalya made the best spicy Marg! So good. My husband and I stopped into Blk Sheep for lunch and it didn't disappoint. We got alittle bit of everything on the menu and it all was delicious. We will definitely be back!
