We recently stayed in a spacious, comfortable three-bedroom apartment at The Rees, which provided a fantastic home base for our Queenstown exploration. The views from the lakeside location are genuinely spectacular, offering a peaceful retreat away from the town center's hustle.||The biggest factor when booking here is the distance: you are a necessary 15-minute drive from the heart of town. The hotel offers a convenient shuttle service, but be warned—you must book your spot in the morning as they do tend to fill up quickly! If you decide to stay longer in town, the team is accommodating and you can usually call to reschedule your ride back, which is a big plus. For those who prefer to stretch their legs, the peaceful two-mile trail into town is a beautiful alternative walk.||The staff were great about getting us settled, offering a shuttle and a quick tour around town to help us get our bearings. This thoughtful touch made the initial navigation much easier.||We did find the on-site restaurant food to be less than spectacular. It's perfectly adequate, and definitely convenient for those nights when you are too tired or lazy to deal with the logistics of getting back into town for dinner, but don't book a stay here based on the culinary experience.||In summary, The Rees offers beautiful, spacious accommodation and is an excellent base for actively exploring Queenstown. However, if your main priority is being able to walk out your door straight to shopping, bars, and restaurants, you might be happier staying right in the town center.
