"Located at 1640 Meeting Street Road in Charleston, this venue will host a bottle-signing with two-time Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner as part of his nationwide tour promoting Sweet Grass Vodka. The event will feature live music and VIP tickets that include a meet-and-greet with the actor, and the vodka’s founder said they’re excited to host him in their hometown and provide an authentic Charleston experience." - Erin Perkins

Google
The Refinery was a nice venue and had a good vibe overall. The only downside was how long we waited for Jesse McCartney to come out, and then being told we couldn’t hug him because he wasn’t feeling well, even though he hugged a fan on stage. That part was disappointing, but not really The Refinery’s fault. Still had a pretty good time!

Google
Saw the amazing Trombone Shorty on Saturday- the show was fantastic. The venue could have been great but they had a vendor selling cigars. I guess because they were selling them folks thought it was cool to smoke them in the middle of the crowd. I kept moving away from them but cigar smoke is so strong ! Would give the venue 5 stars except for this. I didn’t notice people smoking cigarettes- but the cigars really took away from the experience.

Google
This event and concert venue is one of my favorites in the local charleston area and I've been here for a handful of concerts! It's a nice sized venue outside that also has the option to get out of the heat and sit and eat at 2 of the bar/restaurants located right inside the venue area. They even usually have really great food trucks and local spirits offered with some specialty cocktails made right there to drink!

Google
This was my first time at this event! I came here to see Jesse McCartney with my friends. The drinks were good and we had an amazing time! He was great, even when he was sick.

Google
Amazing concert / event venue ! Really modern, aesthetic and I love seeing concerts here bc it’s so intimate you feel like you’re right up on the stage no matter where you are

Google
This was a great venue. I only took off 1 star because the website stated no chairs and that turned out to not be the case - a chair would have been perfect for the show we attended and many folks had them. This is a clear bag venue - which I didn't see on the website either. I had a small crossbody which luckily fell within the 6x4x2 size. There were also a lot of bugs and even though I used bug spray, my ankles still got bitten very badly (chiggers perhaps or noseeums). Sound was great, vibe was great, drinks were easy to get, parking was easy (on the street). All in all a great experience, but I'd bring a chair or blanket next time and some serious bug spray focused on my ankles!

I had an awesome time at the Dylan Scott show... I'll definitely be back. This is a very nice venue.

Google
Beautiful venue! Looks really new, smaller but a great place no matter where you stand. Bathrooms could be bigger, but wasn't too bad. Saw Yelawolf there, good show! The food smelled great but didnt try it. I think anything here would be a good time!

Yelp
oh what a night - gotta brag here and say we were VIP for Chase Rice. Honestly didn't know which one Chase was but when he walked by in his UGG boots I had a feeling deep down it was him. Security ran a tight ship so yeah I felt safe all night. Tried to walk out of VIP with my old friend, Red Solo Cup, but security said "Not today honey." Gotta appreciate a person who does their job with integrity and enthusiasm. ok getting to the good part - the sound traveled incredibly well, so much so that when the crowd sang "Amazing Grace" I cried a little. It was a spiritual experience. Didn't think I would have that tonight but ALAS I left feeling a little closer to God Almighty. Chase was a real crowd pleaser. He sang about trucks and women and Jack Daniels. He even gave some to the crowd to drink!! It was a nice touch if you ask me. At the end of the night I got to go up to the second level and take in the show in all its glory. My friend and I debated if this was a 4 or 5 star experience and I arrived to 4 stars. Ok good night sleep tight don't let the bed bugs bite.

Yelp
I like the location for this venue; just outside of the city center. There is a decent amount of free parking including a dedicated lot but also a significant amount of street parking stretching in either direction in this otherwise uncrowded area. A VIP ticket didn't generate an enormous amount of extra value; though having a separate bathroom is nice. There were a few food options but I preferred to seek out dinner elsewhere and I think I made the right choice. Among the more aggravating factors were a very square crowd, not a lot of seating options, and someone flying a drone around. I've definitely been at similar venues that had better vibes, even if the physical spaces weren't as nice.

Yelp
Good venue ! Great views. The VIP section is unnecessary as the regular tix/ views are far superior .. will be back.

Yelp
I've seen several concerts at The Refinery now, the latest being Niko Moon, and this venue never fails to disappoint! It's so easy to get there from downtown, Mt Pleasant, West Ashley or other surrounding areas. It's an intimate setting and a little bit more upscale than others in the area. They always have drink stations in the actual venue, which is outside; however, there are other food and drink options on site at The Whale and Cleats which are conveniently located next to the venue with optimal viewing so you don't have to worry about missing any of your performance if you get hungry!

Yelp
Have come to this venue many times for the restaurant and bar. Visited for the Stephen Marley concert, it was very fun! Nice, open outdoor venue with ample space for events. Area for food trucks as well. Parking lot on the side as well as street parking. Nice clean bathrooms, women's and men's.

Yelp
The Refinery is an excellent venue for live music and grab drinks with family and friends. Went to the David Nail country concert and had a fantastic time! A big stage with lots of space to hangout and listen to music, and enjoy food trucks. They have a restaurant and an upper deck to enjoy the view.

Yelp
The Refinery is a fantastic outdoor venue that hosts a variety of musicians. We went for an evening Stephen Marley concert and enjoyed the open lawn. Bars are available during the concert and they host food trucks as well. The entrance line moved quickly and staff were friendly and helpful. The drinks were well made, fast and a great price. I recommend bringing a blanket and maybe a small back pillow to comfortably lounge with.

Yelp
Beautiful outdoor facility, attended an event called Bourbon, Blues, and Bonfires. The event was well executed, with a good number of bourbon vendors giving out samples and conversing about their products. Selwyn Birchwood was the blues entertainment, and his band was an awesome selection, given his recent accolades in the blues community. And finally they had several fire pits spread out across the facility which kept us comfortable as the temps dropped in the evening. Food trucks kept our bellies filled. Just an overall perfect event

Yelp
Great stage and sound. Very professional. Parking is limited but on street parking was not an issue. This venue is definitely an up and comer.

Yelp
This is a new and innovative model for Charleston events and local businesses. With a growth in live music and an expansion further North, this is a perfect addition to the evolving landscape of Charleston, SC. Excellent venue.

Yelp
Love the venue except the "VIP" has awful sound. Saw Black Pumas from the ground level and it was great. Next night saw Shane Smith from the VIP and sound was terrible. Don't waste your money on the VIP.

Yelp
really cool venue. super laidback atmosphere, outdoor courtyard style with tons of great restaurants (quick cafeteria style serve yourself *bonus points in my book* or locally made/owned brews/bars. service and employees were attentive & responsible.

Emma R.

Yelp
Really cool place for a concert with different bar areas and a restaurant, great ambiance for a night out with friends

Yelp
I went for a fundraiser event. The set up here is great! A big stage, with lots of space to hang out, stand, sit, dance. Pet and kid friendly makes it an awesome spot for the whole family! I especially recommend going during events when there are food trucks and vendors set up

Stephen B.

Yelp
The fog machine needs a few changes. Often the left side of the stage will be covered in fog and the right side will be completely clear. And the amount of fog can be turned down. Little is better.

Yelp
If your proctologist can get any further up your tail pipe than The Refinery, then he must be top of his class! Went to Sam Bush concert at The Refinery tonight, and they had more pointless rules than you could shake a stick at. Buy a beer, but pour it in a plastic cup. Don't stand here or there. If you leave, even to go to your car, no readmission, even with the stupid pink wrist band. Their $40 per barstool was BS. There were no bar stools and most of the people who paid the $15 extra for the non existent bar stools, wound up coming down to the stage because they had to stand anyway, so why not closer to the stage. Sam Bush was fantastic. The Refinery needs to refine their hospitality.

Yelp
Cool new concert spot in Charleston! Minutes form downtown! Great spot for summer shows!

Amanda M.

Yelp
This venue doesn't allow you to purchase tickets for shows at THEIR OWN VENUE. I'm an avid concert goer and have NEVER been to a venue that did not have ticket sales available at the venue. Be prepared to pay an additional $12 ticket fee for each ticket on top of the high price of the concert ticket itself. 2 drinks with tip cost $75. I'd suggest you avoid this venue and check out the Pourhouse.

Janet H.

Yelp
I wanted to get a ticket to see Stephen Marley but I am handicapped and walk with a cane and definitely can't stand for very long. Apparently they are not allowing chairs at the show and I can't afford VIP tickets. I messaged them on April 12 and still have no response. I wish I could give a negative star.

Angelo H.

Yelp
We saw Del McCoury play there last week. It was an excellent concert at a great venue. We paid almost double for VIP tickets. What a waste of money. The VIP area was farthest from the stage. All the food service, bathrooms, and draft beers were downstairs and hard to access.

Tim W.

Yelp
The Refinery has so much potential but needs to modify the live venue. The VIP section doesn't have adequate seating and no bathrooms. The band "Sex Bruise" from Myrtle Beach was absolutely the worst I've ever seen. Their lyrics are terrible. Their stage presence was worse. And $9.00 for a beer! The extra $20 a ticket for VIP is not worth it. The only one that salvaged the night was Tyler Boone's band. They should have been the headliner.
