Very friendly and efficient staff. We were a group of 5 and they pushed 2 tables together and seated us immediately. They were over half full at the end of the lunch rush (2pm). 3 of the 5 of us got Rubin Sandwiches as the Rubin reputation demanded we try it out. It did not disappoint. The texture and flavor of this Rubin were the best I have ever experienced. Notably, the food was prepared and brought to us very quickly. This may just have been because of our after rush timing but I was very impressed with the speed. It felt like the first person who ordered was getting their food before the last person was done ordering. There was plenty of free public parking. We left feeling stuffed and Happy. We will certainly be back!

Amazing food!! The pastrami is perfectly made. The bread pudding was moist and just delicious. The service was great and the food was ready quickly. You must have the Ohio burger!! Oh! Dont forget the goofy fries.

Decided to stop by here on a recommendation from a friend. Place has a very warm atmosphere, the staff have a friendly vibe. Came in during noon lunch rush, but still seated fast, drinks on the table before the menu even opened. The food came out very fast, but was hot and fresh. Decided on the western cheese steak with wacky fries. It tasted amazing. Had a great smell and taste. Fries did not taste cheap. The selection of beer wine and spirits takes up 3 pages of the 4 page menu. There's a drink here for everyone. Highly suggest everyone try it at least once

In A Nutshell: -The Refuge is a small eatery tucked away in downtown Menlo Park. -They have outdoor seating, where you can use the QR code on the table to order from their digital menu. -The staff will bring out your food/beer within a few minutes to your table outside. -There is also a small window you can walk up to & order if you don't want to sit down. -The pastrami hamburger along w/ poutine were very good & hit the spot on a crisp, sunny Fall day. Overall, this is a nice little joint w/ good burgers & hard to find craft beers.

Great bar and eatery located in downtown Menlo Park located in a safe and quiet street. Huge shoutout to the selection of authentic European beers, the service, and the trendy food offerings. Worth checking out for a quiet Saturday or Sunday afternoon with good beer and food. Great vibe. The selection of beer here is second to none. [The Location] The spot here is great, located near Santa Cruz Ave in Menlo Park. It’s on a quiet side street surrounded by banks, a few small businesses, and lots of trees. They have outdoor seating and since the street is quiet, it’s a great experience. Menlo Park is super safe and we loved it. [The Food and Drink] Their pastrami sandwich is their best and most popular offering. They offer many sandwiches, snacks, fries, and other upscaled typical American Gastropup offerings. Heavy emphasis on quality and diversity of selection. We were especially impressed with the offerings of beer! They have literally everything you can think of. They have a ton of European beers and one step inside the restaurant will show you they take pride in history and variety. [The Service] The service was great too. They were super friendly, fast to help us, and answer any questions. We were impressed. Definitely recommend visiting this spot!

First time here, I think they can do better, half the food was cold, which is a little disappointing when it's a burger, and even more disappointing when it's cold fries. The garlic fried had waaaay too much garlic mush which kinda made them bitter. With that being said, the sandwich was really good, and the soups were delicious. Maybe 5 starts next time.

The fries were yummy, and my drink was fantastic cherry soda. I ordered a meatball sub, the other is cheese steak sandwich. It has more crafted beer options than food. So if you're looking for a WIDE variety of options to feed your hunger, check the menu first. Other than that it is an upbeat place to meet your friends and relax to have few beers.

Friends recommended The Refuge to me while I was here for work travel, and I’ll be passing along that recommendation to anyone I can. The pastrami in the Reuben is second to none...a damn work of art! The draft list is great, good ambience, and friendly, helpful staff.
