The Best Romantic Restaurants in Denver, Colorado | Eater Denver

"Amid low lights, luxe fabrics, and striking objets d’art, the stage is set for tête-à-têtes at this refined LoDo retreat, where every exquisite dish on the Peruvian-inflected menu is a conversation piece in its own right — be it mussels in jalapeño emulsion with toasted corn or the chocolate sphere with almond cake and mascarpone mousse." - Ruth Tobias

The Best Restaurants for Celebrating New Year’s Eve Around Denver and Boulder | Eater Denver

"Serving contemporary cuisine with global (most notably Peruvian) flair, The Regular is one of Denver’s most exciting restaurants right now. The lucky few who manage to wrangle a table on New Year’s Eve will be treated to an exclusive a la carte menu of specials such as stone crab claws and mussels a la chalaca, kanpachi filet with trout roe chimichurri, aged rib-eye with choclo on the husk, and tonka bean panna cotta." - Ruth Tobias

Old review I forgot to post: My husband and I came to The Regular for our anniversary. We had a really odd start to our dinner, we were sat by a couple that decided it was normal behavior to take a photo of my husband and share it via text to each other and gawk at him, mind you he has a skullet, so I can understand finding it interesting if you are a boring normie. It was very odd to look over and see my husband on their phone. I let my waiter Cam know and was asked to be moved to a different table, and he was so lovely as was the hostess that sat us and we were relocated. After we moved and got over the shock of these disgusting people, we ordered cocktails, my fav was Symmetrical Lines def would recommend. We also ordered the mussels, the scallops, a lobster/scallop skewer, gnocchi, ceviche, mushrooms and the grilled corn. My fav was the mussels! The ceviche was too spicy for me and I usually enjoy spice. The mushrooms were a little bland. The scallops, grilled corn and gnocchi were ok. Our server Cam really was excellent and made our trip here, he offered us a dessert (the sphere) for our anniversary that was delicious and some port on him to make up for the beginning of our eve. The ambiance is nice. Overall it was an ok experience. Needless to say it was the weirdest anniversary dinner we've ever had seeing as we saw how depraved humans can be on a night we just wanted to enjoy and celebrate ourselves. No fault of the restaurant though obviously.

Such a unique and delicious dining experience! My fiancé took me here for my birthday, and most dishes we tried were phenomenal. The staff went above and beyond to make the night special—they surprised me with a thoughtful birthday card, a tiny vase of flowers, a complimentary round of drinks, and dessert! Such a sweet and personal touch. The atmosphere was trendy, moody, and effortlessly cool, making it the perfect spot for a celebratory night out. I loved my experience here and can’t wait to come back!

Amazing flavors! Nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. I want to go back and try everything else on the menu! I loved the ambience and service. The chef was walking around greeting guests, so it was fun to chat with him and hear about his new restaurant he’s opening next door! I highly recommend if you’re looking for something as unique as it is delicious!

Ambiance, service, menu & food were excellent! Love the concept of inviting up and coming guest chefs for an evening! Also they have a beautiful large group semi-private area that we'll try at some point.

I think this will be Denver’s next Michelin star restaurant. Everything is perfection. Service is best in town, food and vibe is something you’d find in a much bigger city but everything is that beautiful down to earth Colorado feel. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! Bathroom has lovely details like a scented hand wash but unscented lotion (so as to not overwhelm senses when dining). And a hot towel at checkout for the final touch. 15/10

The cocktails as well as the food was delicious. My favorite thing is the oysters. It’s not just an oyster anymore it’s a whirlwind of a flavor explosion. These are the best oysters I’ve ever had and I try them at any restaurant that offers them. This restaurant offers Michelin food 100%. The chef knows what he is doing and I will continue to come for the happy hour oysters because $2 for this flavor experience is worth every penny.

My wife and I recently went to The Regular. We had the most incredible time. Once we walked in, we experienced a very cool, warm, hip lounge like vibe. The restaurant was beautiful. I started with a Vanderbilt Bunny which is a lighter smoother take on a Boulevardier. My wife enjoyed a Tears of Dawn’s Simplicity which was very light and smooth. It was presented in a beautiful delicate cup with a flower frozen in a round ice cube. Each drink was served in a glass specifically selected. It was very evident that significant thought was placed in every aspect of the restaurant. The plates were beautiful which complemented the incredible food. The variety of food was very refreshing. There was a twist on every appetizer and entrée. We started with the oysters which were absolutely beautifully presented in a bright green sauce served over a bed of shiny pebbles. Each oyster was dressed with three colorful drops of oil. The salmon Toradito was equally wonderful with brilliant yellow and orange colors. The salmon was complimented with a small crispy corn crunch. We then had the Peking Duck and Short Rib. The portions were very large and hearty. The half duck was served with crispy skin, unique blend of spices on a bed of Parsley risotto which was perfectly cooked. The breast meat was super tender and the leg meat fell off of the bone. The short rib (which included two large portions) was easily enough for two. The short rib was decadently delicious. It literally fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. Needless to say, we were unable to finish both entrées. I was able to get a glimpse of the whole Seabass with chimichurri sauce go by to another table. It looked incredible. We concluded with a smooth velvety sweet potato custard. This was also so very unique- unlike anything I have ever tasted before. It was great. Unfortunately it is seasonal. Overall we had an incredible experience. This was not simply eating a great meal. It was an event we truly enjoyed. When you are sitting at the table, you smile at everything. We definitely will be back with Friends.

Food was pretty great - flavors were well thought out and dishes were beautifully presented. I was disappointed with the portion sizes, particularly with the seafood risotto. The short rib was delicious and a great portion size, but the cauliflower mash on the side was a laughable portion. But service was the real issue here. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks.. they require you to place your entire order at the start of the meal, and then when we ordered our second drinks, they didn’t come until after we had finished dinner. Our server was not attentive, but it did seem like the service managers were doing their best to check in. Also, for a Peruvian flare restaurant, to be out of pisco is disappointing! The drinks were delicious, but small in size. All in all, I’ve seen this restaurant on IG and the ambiance is definitely IG worthy — and the food was good — but I would not come back.
