"You’ll find this friendly village pub with a bright, modern feel tucked away down a narrow country lane. When it comes to the cooking, things are hearteningly traditional, with eternal favourites like bangers and mash – along with daily specials – cooked with great care and using quality ingredients, resulting in straightforward, flavour-packed food. 'Pie night' – with weekly changing filling choices – and a proper Sunday roast add to the appeal, as do charming service and a prime view of the local cricket pitch." - Michelin Inspector

Can’t comment on the food but what a great pub with live music and a lovely beer garden out back. Fantastic night with friends and the band Red Leaf giving a great performance.

Cannot give enough stars for the landlady and the staff. The charity work they are doing and will be doing is amazing. Very welcoming with great bands and an awesome selection of drinks. Tip of the hat to you all

Mega Roast all proper ‘home cooked’ food and plenty of it. Staff were friendly and smiley even when rushed off their feet. Nice beer garden for those sunny days. Even when busy or live music on its a spacious pub so you can still hear ya mates talk…unfortunately ;)

This Pub has been a staple of the live music scene in Norwich for some time, presenting the best in grass routes music across the world. The staff are incredible, the drinks fairly priced, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The Pub Dog is the best too. Love this place, can’t recommend highly enough.

Did not eat here but visited on a live music night. Fantastic night with a great band (Red Leaf). All round good evening.

The very best pub in town. Friendly staff who always greet you with a warm welcome and a fab pint. Loads of great beers, my partner loves ale and really appreciates the selection and the care with which the beer is looked after. There are delicious food options all week and the Sunday roast is legendary. Live bands and a friendly crowd make this the music venue the place to go for your nights out in Norwich. The management of this gem of a pub is first class.

Yelp
This pleasant looking place turned out to be probably my favourite pub of a weekend in Norwich. That is a high accolade indeed, given the competition. Nice laid back feel to the inside, and some excellent beers to enjoy (about 8 different ones) I had to select my 2nd favourite named beer of the trip (after Goatbusters from the same brewers) - Elgoods The Wonderful Lizard of Oz. It is a bit of a foodie place, that is true. Just drinking doesn't seem in any way discouraged mind you. Personally we stuck to curried and beetrooted pickled eggs rather than brave some of the harshly carnivorous items we found on the menu - such as Duck Hearts on Toast or Crispy Pigs Ears! Crazy stuff.

Yelp
Classy looking interior, intimate low lighting. A good eclectic mix of beverages on tap. For me the Brooklyn Brewery larger is a stand out, though despite having branded glasses for it they always server it in a Verdet straight pint. Maybe I have the face of a pint glass thief.. truth be told I took home the Verdet one out of desperation. Jokes. It is the busy night when it's less enjoyable to go here. They could do with a few more bodies behind the bar on these nights, even just so they can wipe the bar a bit more regularly. Lean on the bar as it is and you'll spend the rest of your night drying your saturated shirt sleeves with the hand dryers in the loos. Have been in many times now and quite enjoy popping in for a swifty on the way home from work when it's quiet. It's a little treat to sit in the warmth on one of the pews by the window, glass of Brooklyn in hand watching the folk wander down Dereham Road.

Yelp
A sprawling, low-ceilinged affair. The beery focus is on Elgoods, and there are certainly some less common offerings from the brewery. There are also five unused handpumps, which is a bummer to see. Friendly barman. OK value. Free wifi. Quiet on a Tuesday afternoon. Not a must-visit, but worth a short stop if you're after some obscure Elgoods.

Yelp
Recently reopened under new management. Lost some of it's atmosphere, very quiet at the moment. Still good selection of Elgoods beer though.
