The Remedy Exchange

I came today in hopes for avocado toast but unfortunately I just wasted $11 on food I couldn’t eat. The avocado that was used was very clearly inedible, it was a grey brown color (common with avocados, but this one was absolutely a gone bad grey color) and I’ll attach a photo. Look at the photo! Does that look like something appropriate to serve to a paying customer? 😬 Additionally, when I came in, the employee was eating and came over to the register to take my order while coughing and still chewing on food. I requested that just salt and pepper were used on my toast because pizza seasoning sounds odd to me haha and she said that was fine, but when making the toast I heard her whispering to her coworker wondering where the pepper was and neither of the knew so she just didn’t use it and didn’t say anything about it, presumably just hoping I wouldn’t notice or care? Which I guess it didn’t matter because I couldn’t eat it anyway, but in customer service you’d expect to just say something along the lines of, hey we actually don’t have pepper I hope that’s alright! I’m disappointed for sure that I sent $11 down the drain and wasted my time and unfortunately don’t recommend visiting this spot based on both the food and the service.

Used to be obsessed with Acai bowls but feel quality has really gone down this year. They have been with a lot of ice chunks or today’s was so watery (pictured). Recommend sticking with smoothies here instead. Also as heads up oftentimes item won’t be available until 15 min after designated pick up time which can be frustrating. That said, workers are very friendly!

First and last time here...Smoothie bowl looked beautiful, tasted like fruity water. Not blended nearly enough, I'm spitting out huge chunks of ice and crunching the rest. My friend just tried it and said it's the worst smoothie they've ever had and that it just tastes like water. The barnyard breakfast sandwich was really good. Cooked perfectly, just the right amount of spice, overall 10/10 on that. The place itself is beautiful. Very clean and welcoming. Seems like a good place to sit and get some work done.

I absolutely love Remedy - the acai bowls are the best around. The staff is so friendly and the shop is so cute. It's right on the train station and it looks so cool when the train goes by.

Remedy Exchange has the friendliest staff that really know how to prepare a healthy delicious smoothie and their Acai bowls are amazing loaded with fruit of your choice. Stefanie and Alyssa are always so helpful and an absolute pleasure to be around! I always leave Rememdy Exchange feeling better then when I arrived and totally rejuvenated from their contagious positive energy and great vibe they pour into every cup! I Love everything about this cozy little Super Food Cafe and I’m sure you will too… Definitely try them out!

Can’t believe it took so long for me to finally come in here. Staff are all very pleasant. The food is excellent, especially the “damn good tuna”. Excellent coffee and the service is fast. I plan on many returns.

A so-cal girl finding a slice a home here! There are LOADS of vegan and gluten free options. The owner Justina, is super knowledgeable when it comes to dietary restrictions. All of their smoothie bowls are made to order, so you can switch up the ingredients to fit your dietary restrictions. I am just traveling through the area but came back two days in a row to get breakfast here!! Ordered the butter pecan smoothie bowl without the vanilla protein and made with water instead of oat milk. It was sooo delicious. You are allowed to switch out all the toppings too, there is a list of plenty of fruit/ nuts/ GF granola 10/10 recommend!

BLT came back soggy, 90% lettuce and inedible. Expensive and could not eat it a hot wet soggy lettuce wrap.

We visited in on a raining Saturday morning and it was not crowded. I ordered juice drinks and my friend ordered an avocado toast. I paid for both orders. It was a total hot mess for service. They never put food order through and never charged us for it. We ordered 3 juice drinks and it took 22 minutes to get those juice drinks. The staff was making the drinks in the basement and then they would walk up the stairs holding the blender full of juice and then poured it into a cup. That is not safe, juice could spill out and someone could slip on the stairs and take a dive back into the basement. All the staff looked about 17 years old, no sense of urgency, and dazed and confused. No one even looked even 21. Also, parking is a nightmare. Never going back..

It's so hard to find a place that uses only real whole foods for their smoothies, this place is a gem Service is great and easy and ambiance is really cute!

The smoothies were okay, could use some more blending (plus I had found an apple stem in my drink). Ingredients are fresh and a warm golden milk was great

Wow! Just had super delicious maple dry cappuccino! Made to perfection! Friendly and quick service. So glad to find this spot. And I get to watch commuter rail trains trundle by too. Win/win.

Buyer beware.. Have loved popping in here occasionally for an açaí bowl. Today, pulled up the menu on the website, picked what I wanted, and stopped into order. Since you pay at the end, I didn't realize until I was rung up that it was almost $21 (?!) for my bowl. I thought he had charged me for 2, but was told no, we had a "price bump" recently. For reference, menu on the website has them at the old price of $10. Doubling the price is not a "price bump." Sad to say I won't be back. No bowl is worth that cost. And with prices like that, I don't think this place will last long anyway.

I absolutely loved the remedy exchange. Their smoothies are delicious! Today I got a sandwich and I could have made a better one at home. See pictures of the advertised sandwich and the reality. The service was nice, the kids working behind the counter were helpful and nice!

So I ordered today on door dash. First time I ever heard of this restaurant. I got the avocado red pepper sandwich. One of the best I ever had.

I'm disappointed with the acai bowls here, but it's such a cute little place that I want to give it another try anyway. The acai bowl looks beautiful, but it tastes watered down and icy. Most acai bowls I've tried have a strong flavor and a thicker consistency, but this was more like a slushy. One of the reviewers below said that they use a powder mixed with ice, which I'M NOT SURE if this is true, but it perfectly explains the taste. I loved the bee pollen, coconut, blueberries, and dark chocolate shavings, but would have appreciated more granola on top. There's not enough to evenly distribute it throughout the entire bowl. I also ordered one of the juice shooters, which I enjoyed and would try again.

Best of the best! I am a smoothie lover and have never had a better smoothie than from Remedy Exchange! And not to mention all of the staff are lovely!

I love this place. It's walking distance from my condo. The owner is very friendly. The food is great. And the space is very clean. I've visited 5+ times and have been pleased with each visit.

I have no idea how I didn't know about the Remedy Exchange - I really need to explore my town more and I am super excited to have finally discovered it (while randomly searching Yelp for soup near me which they don't even seem to sell so it must have been meant to be!). Their menu is amazing. Everything looks so good and made with fresh ingredients. It was hard deciding what to try this morning. I ordered in advance and it was done on time so no wait at all. I went with the Nuts Over Chocolate Smoothie Bowl (on the specials list) and this was huge. Worth every penny of the $15. I've been eating it off and on all day. So much goodness and just the right proportion of everything. Whoever came up with this is a genius. The star of my order (yup, even better than the smoothie bowl) was the Barnyard Breakfast Sandwich. I added on a tomato and didn't add on the greens you see in the photos. Perfection. The egg was just a bit runny and oh so good. The chicken was nicely done. The bread would have tasted amazing by itself with just butter - everything hit the spot. I could eat one of those every day and be happy. Finally, can't pass up a coffee so I went with an iced Cinnamon Honey Cappuccino. Very strong. That's the kind of caffeine you need at 8 in the morning. If I drank it after 5pm, well I'd be up all night. So, I recommend it if you need an up all night drink or a morning pick me up drink. Loved the honey - not overpowering but definitely there. So, if you couldn't tell - I am quite pleased with this new discovery. I'm going back soon, very soon. It'll be a tough decision as I saw so many good looking items but also, I need, no I yearn to eat that sandwich again. Drooling thinking about it. If you're in the area, check them out. Plenty of parking, off the beaten path feel and pure quality yummy ingredients.

Cool hip spot with plenty of different juices and smoothies to choose from among other small snacks. My employer supplies them with bottles and whatnot, always kind people when delivering to them. I like the protein balls they have here. Stop by whenever I'm in the area.

I ordered the açaí smoothie and was super disappointed. It tasted like dirt, no berry flavor whatsoever. When I came home I added vanilla, agave and blueberries to make it better. I definitely wouldn't recommend that flavor. My fiancé ordered the chocolate strawberry one which was much better.

I came here with a friend after we had a relaxing spa day. The interior is so adorable and cute. There is a beautiful mural on the wall that is very inviting and bright and you can tell it's done by a local artist. Everything in here screams clean and conscious eating. It's also in their name super foods! I tried one of their snacks from the take a cooler and it was absolutely delicious. It was the Pesto chicken salad. It didn't feel like there was a lot of seasoning it the pumpkin seeds and cranberries added to the flavor. A little pricey, but when you're on the go and you don't want to take the time to do it yourself then you got to do what you gotta do if you want healthy options. I forget which juice My friend tried, but she liked it. I has apple, lemon celery, ginger juice. The place I work at juices and we have the same minus the lemon, and you can taste each ingredient. I didn't love it because the lemon flavor was over bearing. Not sure if it's a ratio thing, but nonetheless it was healthy so I drank it. The owner is really sweet, and it seems to be a great local spot. I would definitely suggest trying it out! My friend and I aren't local to wakefield, we live a few cities over! It's worth the drive!

This place reminds me of something from San Diego - which to me just emanates health. There are a lot of unique and healthy items that are freshly made like detox shots, smoothie bowls and toasts on sprouted bread. I ordered a superfood bowl and a lemonade. The Super Bowl food was delicious but the consistency was a little watery. I forgot about it though when I mixed the toppings of berries, coconut and peanut butter. It was filling and I didn't feel hungry for a few good hours. The lemonade was delicious! Literally, the woman the counter juiced a couple of lemons after I ordered my drink. You could just taste the freshness and the honey just balanced the tart flavor! The best part was the environmental consciousness of the establishment! They had plant based straws, recycled utensils and napkins. I believe in their mindset and hope to incorporate more in my life!

What an amazing little cafe that I am soooo glad to have found after meeting the owner, Justina, at a community event in neighboring Stoneham. Each menu item is artfully created with health and taste in mind. Service is extremely polite and pleasant, too. My favorite things to order here are the avocado/roasted pepper panini, which can also be made as a bowl, and the botanical bliss juice. So good, but you really can't go wrong with any of their selections! There's something for everyone here with options you can feel really good about and truly enjoy eating. I am hooked!

Very fresh, great gluten free options. The espresso smoothie is healthy but indulgent

$14 for a smoothie that had absolutely no flavor given by an unfriendly worker. My friend got an açaí bowl and also remarked at how expensive and bland it was. Don't see this business lasting long based on how awful and bland their food is in addition to their price tags. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Please note: this is based on the smoothies only. The last one I had, berry something... had huge ice chunks in it, the consistency wasn't great and it tasted bleh. I've experienced much better tasting smoothies at better prices for the size at places like The Juicery or Mother Juice in Boston.

Came to this place before with my girlfriend and it was amazing the smoothies were excellent and the shooters were top notch. I came back to the remedy exchange with my girlfriend for a little drive away from the city for these smoothies. We showed up 20 min before they closed and they didn't want to make us our shooters and our smoothies were way too rushed especially for 25$ very disappointing, but it's all good we understand closing time can get ancy ..we'll be back!

This place is amazing. I come here 3 days a week from Revere Beach! That should say something. Espresso smoothie is awesome.... But what I really like about this place is the friendly staff and owner. They are always smiling and always say hello. Highly recommend- you won't be disappointed.

Fist time there today, I'm sad I didn't find it sooner. My Smoothie bowl base was nice and thick and toppings were very fresh. They are currently taking phone orders, online or walk in-which is what I did. My order was ready in about 5 minutes. Price was very reasonable and I was pretty full after. I'm looking forward to going back!

Horrible experience. Drinks are ridiculously expensive. Smallest size of juice which is tiny costs 13+ dollars. Food tasted decent but was incredibly small and not worth the money at all. Still hungry not satisfied at all. Also ordered extra chicken and there was barely any at all in my sandwich.

I was recently looking for something healthy to eat, as summer is here... I came across this gem on Instagram actually. When popping in, I was extremely impressed with the friendly staff and beautiful decor. And it didn't end there... I got a healthy smoothie with cheesecake protein balls. Wow! They were so so so good. Looking forward to coming back here. Enjoy everyone

I ate at this place today and it was awesome. I had the butter pecan smoothie bowl and it was AMAZING, it was the perfect consistency, not too cold on my teeth, and a wholesome flavor.. very filling! If you're looking for more wholesome than sweet, this is definitely your bowl. I placed my order through yelp and I guess this platform charges more than their actual ordering service so I ended up paying 14 bucks for my smoothie bowl which is so expensive. The nice lady at the cash register told me to order it through their ordering service because the one on here is so expensive and i'd save some money- she was awesome. I really appreciate things like that! Overall- it's a tad expensive but definitely worth it: don't order on yelp cause you'll pay more!

Okay so I love this place. It's super healthy, they're constantly changing evolving and thinking about new recipes and ideas for their customers. I attended their yoga night where they hosted a yoga instructor and for a small amount of money we got a yoga session and a açaí bowl, with DIY toppings- it was amazing. But I mean, I can deduct one star for a couple reasons that I'm absolutely positive will improve with time: I brought friends there, 3 new customers- & the employee forgot one of my friends orders, also one time the bowl I got (apple pie) was fulllll of little ice chunks, andd one time my father-in-law got their toast and the topping just wasn't spread around much on the toast... $8+ for toast, is want the sweet potato spreaddd tothe edge

food is delicious. collagen matcha latte is so good too! nice to-go packaging. friendly & very approachable staff w good attitude. the sandwich is tiny but also all i needed.

I want to love this place and give it a higher review, but after my second time visiting- I'm a bit disappointed :(... I do LOVE that this place makes healthy food accessible and serves many brands- such as Vital Proteins, Coconut Cult, and RXBar. The price is a bit high- but I am always willing to pay for great quality, fresh, and all natural ingredients. With that being said, I also expect that the food to be good. Service was nice and approachable, we got all of our food in a timely manner as well. My boyfriend and I ordered a medium latte, avocado toast, an acai bowl, and picked up a sweet treat (which was yummy!). I was extremely disappointed in the latte. The size was small compared to other coffee shops- and for $4.50 I expected my cup to be filled to the top. After taking a sip, I noticed that it was 2/3 of the way filled....and most of it was foam. The avocado toast was good. I tasted more lime/lemon in the avocado to preserve the freshness. I'm not sure what the pizza seasoning was supposed to taste like, but I wasn't getting much of that flavor on the toast. My boyfriend (who loves acai) said that there were chunks of ice left in his smoothie- he was constantly crunching on pieces of ice in the bowl. I'm hoping that these kinks may be worked out. I truly want to love it here and I am willing to give it another chance, but quality must match the price.

Wonderful new addition to Wakefield which is full of endless Italian / Pizza places. Hope they expand their vegan friendly bowl selections and the owner, Christina said this is something that they are looking in to doing. Prices are not cheap, but food is of high quality and I'm used to paying a price premium for good quality / healthy food choices. Street parking on Tuttle St. is usually plentiful.

Sadly, due to unsafe and unsanitary conditions we did not sample the food. We placed our order and waited outside at a small table. After ten minutes I went back in to wait for the order. Two employees were having a conversation with a customer at the counter, the younger employee had her mask down around her neck and was not wearing gloves. As she spoke to the gentleman at the counter she proceeded to put her hands into her hair and play with her ponytail which was also hanging over food being prepared. When the same woman finished waiting on this customer she turned right back to the counter and placed a sandwich into a take out box. I asked her if that was a kids grilled cheese (which was part of our order). She said it was and then asked for my name-she said that this was my order she was working on now. At this point I told her I wouldn't be taking that sandwich as I had just watched her handle her hair and then the food with bare hands. She then turned and walked away from me. The woman who took our order stepped up to hand me my juice (she was also not wearing gloves). I told her to please cancel our order as only one employee was wearing gloves while preparing food. She apologized and we left. Such a disappointment, the menu looks great and we will always go out of our way for great vegan food however, it doesn't matter how high the quality of your ingredients are if you can't be bothered to handle them safely and appropriately.

Really glad I found this place. Love the healthy menu. I'm vegetarian and there are plenty of options for me - staff was nice enough to let me substitute eggs for the chicken on the avocado red pepper sandwich. Would've liked a slightly thicker and better-toasted bread with it and maybe a bit more seasoning, but it was still good. Look forward to going back next time I'm in the area.

First time here this morning and really enjoyed it! I've been looking for a local spot like this. Açaí bowl and avocado toast both very good! Staff was nice and friendly. I'll definitely be back again!

Sandwiches, coffee, and smoothies are great! Not a big fan of their açaí bowl. The açaí probably has no sugar added, which some love but there was no sweetness to it whatsoever and was hard for me to eat. Regardless, will go back for their other items! Great customer service.

I love this place! The decor is beautiful and bright, staff is always friendly, and the food is amazing! The smoothie bowls are my favorite. They have online ordering which makes it super easy to grab if you are in a rush, there is always plenty of parking. I will always be back here.

I would give it a 4.5. I had the avocado toast and a latte. Avocado toast was pretty good and the latte was only ok IMO. The latte was $4.50 for a small cup which seemed high for size and taste. The staff I worked w didn't seem confident or knowledgeable in the menu yet but I'm ok with that as they are still new. The place itself has a great look, is clean, has good music on and is right by the Wakefield North Ave train station. I'll come back again to try something else but will skip the latte and just try their black coffee. Happy this place and their healthy offerings are here. (PS watched a little boy devour sweet potato toast so he gives it a 10!)

My boyfriend and I found this place during our search for open local businesses during the quarantine. We ordered the Chocolate Powerhouse and Green Monster toast, with an espresso smoothie. Quoted time was accurate and order was ready when we got there. We were so pleasantly surprised with how nice it was inside and how much they had to offer. Service was super friendly and the place appeared to be very clean (we took ours to go since there is currently no dining in). Since then we have both ordered multiple times! I've had the butter pecan and daily dose smoothie bowls, both excellent each time. We are so happy we found our new place for local, healthy food! Highly recommend.

I can't say enough great things about this place! With so many places around that don't have the healthiest options, we FINALLY have a sweet spot to go to that's healthy!! Their protein bowls are my favorite, I have them a lot at breakfast time, who doesn't love ice cream for breakfast. And Justina is cool beans too

One of my favorite health food stores in the area. I love their smoothies and their protein bites are really good. They make everything from scratch and have a big menu of items you can order or takeout options. Not a ton of parking since it's next to the train but I've never had a problem parking out front

One word "AWESOME" !!!! I can't say enough about this place. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is sick of the daily routine and looking to eat and drink quality fresh food. When you walk threw the door your welcomed with a smile and a hello, not just what can I get you.

Absolutely love! My favorite things are the B-1-C juice and mint choc chip smoothie. They also have the best sandwiches too. I've recently had to go gluten free and you honestly can't tell the difference here. Love the pesto chicken sandwich. Body Fuel bites are also one of my favorites! My daughter (5y/o) loves the chocolate covered almonds.

Unexpected find I wanted an Açaí smoothie bowl and did not feel like driving to Middleton to the only place I know which makes one. Fresh, cold, fruity with granola and bee pollen Perfectly refreshing lunch at s great price

The smoothie itself was so loose and watery- which made sense because I kept crunching on ice chunks the whole time. The blueberries tasted like they were on the brink of going bad, and the peanut butter tasted and looked like skippy peanut butter!!!! So disappointed

I am going to try them again once they have been open for a little bit. I had the Acai bowl. The base was a too liquidy which made it feel more like a soup texture. The flavor was fine, could be more flavorful. I was disappointed in the cold brew. It lacked taste and caffeine strength. I am hopeful these are just new business kinks and they will get their recipes adjusted soon :) Also, great location. I went at 7:20am and there was a lot of available street parking to be able to pull over and run inside. The decor and feel of the restaurant is beautiful.

My first time here today and I got the blue majik and added almond butter on top. The toppings are great, but the blue base doesn't seem to have too much flavor and has several ice chunks. It's supposed to be mixed with banana, pineapple, and mango but I only taste a very faint banana flavor. I think next time I would try the regular açaí bowl. The vibe inside is nice and it's similar to Pressed Cafe. 3 stars for the toppings and menu items (I'm into earthy natural foods once in awhile), and because I don't want to give any less since it's only my first time here. I wish the base had more flavor!! Pressed Cafe açaí bowls are way thicker, pack a huge punch of flavor, and aren't watery.
