If you're a tea lover as I am, you simply cannot miss out on visiting this adorable local tea shop! As soon as you step inside, the aroma engulfs you making you feel like you've entered a tea paradise. This little tea shop is a hidden gem that imports tea leaves from all around the world and blends the most beautiful and flavorful tea combinations that you literally can't find anywhere else. The kind owner of the shop was extremely knowledgeable and helped us to find the perfect blends for our tastes. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. The selection is abundant and incredible, ranging from the classis to more unique blends with flavors the are incomparable. I was blown away by the quality and full taste - each sip was like a journey that takes you to another part of the world, from the lush green tea fields of Japan in the delicious "Jasmine Dragon Pearls" blend, to the rose bushes and cherry trees from the White House in "1600 Pennsylvania", or my new personal favorite called "The Pearl of the Indian Ocean" that is a heavenly white tea blend from Sri Lanka. I highly recommend this tea shop to anyone who loves tea or is looking for a unique and delicious experience.

What a beautiful shop with an amazing owner. I came in as a full blown novice looking to get my foot in the door when it comes to tea. The owner made me feel at home and was beyond knowledgeable. I can’t wait to go back and try more!

The best tea shop I've been to in SE Michigan. Great selection of tea and teaware, with a kind and knowledgeable owner who loves to discuss all things tea. I won't be going anywhere else for my japanese green teas.

Me and my mum recently stopped by, we had been meaning to try it since moving to the points. It’s a lovely small shop that is beautifully decorated and has such unique pieces. We bought various packets and were helped by the shop keepers to pick out specific blends. Such a wonderful place! I can’t wait to come back .

Yelp
Don't be in a rush! Put a quarter in the meter & plan to spend at least 30 minutes. It's an experience. So many pretty things to look at & so many options to consider. The owner is from Sri Lanka & is a wealth of knowledge. Everything is methodical & ceremonial from her hand-written receipts to careful measurement & packaging.

Yelp
I just recently started drinking tea. I had to sort of force myself because I have never liked the taste of tea. I have never drank iced tea or bubble tea. I simply don't like the taste. However, there are many health benefits to drinking tea so I started out slowly and have now switched from coffee to tea. Don't get me wrong. I will still have a cup of coffee, but it's more of an occasional cup now. There is something about the process of making tea that is relaxing as well. I was looking for some unique spots in the Grosse Pointe area and came across this tea shop. It had great reviews and one of the things that stuck out to me was that the owner was patient and enjoyed teaching. Well that is exactly what I needed. So when you go to the shop the door is locked and there is a sign prompting you to knock. She let me in and what a delightful store! There are tea sets everywhere. I'm extremely clumsy so I stayed clear of the beautiful but delicate china. I realize what a disaster I could have caused. In the back room there is tea everywhere. Every kind you can imagine! I have terrible insomnia. Like to the point where I'm happy if I get 3 hours a night. So, I was looking for a tea to help relax me and make me sleepy. She immediate pulled out a loose leaf tea call "Relax Blue" and started scooping it into a bag. Now I'm looking at this and wondering how the heck this tea gets made? But no fear. She explained that this is actually not a tea but an herbal blend. It has chamomile and lavender, peppermint and lemongrass. The tea turns a blueish green color when you make it. I bought a mesh tea ball as well. I just drank a cup and it was absolutely fantastic. We will see if it actually helps me sleep, but the process is very soothing. I can't wait to go back and try some other blends. Fantastic! Oh! And ore Covid she had tea tastings which sounds amazing. I'm hoping that one day she will go back to having them.

Yelp
I like new experiences and things. That's why I Yelp! I do stuff and want to share the good news. Good news: Rendezvous With Tea is an experience. The patroness is elegant like tea drinkers should be. You know! Sit up straight, drink from a proper cup, 2 sugars kind of woman better described as a lady. Her precious tea is held in identical containers. She is very cleanly and the space sparse. It's like going into a back room for the good stuff. I had missed my loose leaf Orange Pekoe by Twingings. My local place no longer stocks it, damn them:). My quest for tea lead me here to this magical place with the magic lady. Now I will help her move her supply of NG's choice breakfast tea. Enjoy!

Yelp
I know very little about tea and I am strictly an herbal guy, but the sweet lady running this place was so wonderful. She shared all kinds of information that really made my Experience incredibly better and opened my eyes to possibilities I had no idea we're available. She clearly takes great pride in her blends and her shop. She provides all kinds of helpful instruction and suggestions. We will definitely frequent this place to explore the many facets of tea.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem in the Grosse Pointe area. I recently discovered this lovely shop with my siblings. We loved chatting with the store owner, Mrs. Gibson, who is a complete sweetheart. I bought several tea bags to try and they have not disappointed! Each blend has been divine so far. I love that each tea blend is named after an experience or place that Mrs. Gibson has been to or lived in. Will be returning for more tea very soon!

Yelp
Just moved back to Michigan from Washington State after 6 years and was looking for a good shop that would be similar to one of the hundreds that were scattered all throughout WA. This shop has such a *home* feeling to it and blew my expectations out of the water. Speaking with the owner is a highlight in it's own, but the selection and personalized service is unrivaled here. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This store is an incredible little hidden gem, and it is hiding in plain sight. It is right on Mack, just north of Anita. There is metered street parking right in the front of the building, so it's easily accessible. The store itself is beautiful, but it is the owner who makes the experience so amazing. I can't remember her name, but she is one of the most knowledgeable women I have ever met and had the pleasure to speak with. She sells maybe 100 different tea blends that she creates herself. When you speak with her, she will gladly walk through every ingredient in the tea, the benefits of the ingredient, and whether or not it will fit your needs. I bought three different teas when I first went in, and all three were a huge hit in my household. She is an amazingly helpful and knowledgeable owner, and I have a huge respect for that. If you enjoy drinking tea, I would absolutely recommend that you stop in here and try one of her blends. They are absolutely the best tea that I have ever had. She also has a very wide variety of tea pots, tea cups, and tea sets that are of very high quality and are absolutely gorgeous. 10/10.

Yelp
This is a tea lovers paradise! The owner creates all of the tea blends herself. She also has a special meaning behind each of the names which I found to be a great touch. So onto the tea... A chilly, drizzling day had me in search of a hot cup of tea. She brewed me a cup to go and I also purchased a bunch of tea bags to try. She sells individual bags or loose tea. The shop is so cute, has a special charm to it... Or it might be the owner. Would make great gifts for tea lovers too!

Yelp
I am not a connoisseur of tea, but as the saying goes, I know what I like. I like the service and commitment of the woman who owns this establishment. The first time I went in, I was with my wife, who loves her tea. My second visit was for a Tea, it was set up by a friend of ours and we were invited. While we are having tea we are told about the history of the owner, the history of tea and the different flavors she has. As has been said in the other reviews, every one of her blends is designed by her. This shop is a must visit for some delicious and comforting teas. Chat with the owner, that is the real delight.

Yelp
I am a long time coffee lover, but I went to this adorable tea shop yesterday and loved it! I know nothing about tea, but the delightful owner (I'm sure if I tried to spell her name, I'd ruin it..she's from Sri Lanka with a beautiful name) spent so much time with me. She obviously loves her tea, but not just the taste. The passion, the stories behind the names, the tastes....she can help you out of the world of coffee into the exquisite world of tea. I went home with loose tea and some tea bags and will be back. Ext week for more. Beautifully decorated shop with a friendly and warm aura to it. Drop your coffee loving friends off at the Biggby down the street and do yourself a favor by spending 1/2 hour or so talking to this lovely woman and having tea.

Yelp
This quaint tea shop opened around the beginning of December, and I was fortunate to visit it when I was in the area over Christmas. My boyfriend's mother chatted with her as I browsed at all the teas she had in her shop. The owner is a lovely lady who was born in Sri Lanka but moved to Michigan by way of Malaysia. She has two children who attend university in the U.S. and she fell in love with Grosse Pointe. She has also experienced her first snow around that time, though I suspect she is very tired of snow now! When you enter, in the "foyer" you'll notice an array of tea pots and even a gongfu tea set, all of which are reasonably priced. (I have been looking for a gongfu tea set for a while and they can be quite pricey, depending on what the tea ware is made of.) Once in the shop, there were a lot of teas, mostly individual sachets and boxed, as well as bulk loose leaf tea for the tea purist. I didn't recognize the brands, but many of them are in wooden boxes and have a vintage feel to them. I purchased a few tisanes: Madagascar Almond Spice (25g/$3.50), Ipanema Clementine (25g/$3.50), and Organic Rose Petals (25g/$5.50). The prices are not inexpensive, but I am a tea lover and am happy to support small businesses, especially when I am in the Detroit area. I really enjoy the Ipanema Clementine--it makes such a bright and cheery cup, especially with all the wintery mess we've had this year. I also infuse the organic rose petals with my black teas or earl grey. A few things I would suggest to the owner (and maybe she has done so already) is invest in a label maker or perhaps pre-print the names of the tea on an Avery address label and that way she doesn't have to spend a lot of time hand writing the label. I imagine it would be very time consuming if a customer bought a lot of loose leaf tea. I was at another tea shop in New York and I noticed they kept their labels in a clear pouch that was attached to the back of the bulk tea tin for easy access. Another thing I would suggest is that she purchase twist ties for the tea bags, so that the tea would keep fresh longer. My purchases were sealed with scotch tape, so when I got home, I used binder clips instead. Lastly, if she has the resources--I hope she gets a website up and running and signs up for a Steepster account. That's where a lot of hard core and net-savvy tea drinkers hang out. I will definitely pop in here the next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
The owner is the sweetest lady on planet Earth. Gave my friend and I her undivided attention to help us pick out Christmas gifts for family and friends, and her tea blends are fantastic. Anyone who likes tea should absolutely check out the Rendezvous

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time, I live out of state.. What a delightful and educational experience! You can hear the passion of the owners voice when she is giving you an educational tour of some of her teas and their names. I don't want to say too much as to not give away the experience. All I have to say... It's not your ordinary tea shop. It's truly an exceptional shop. .. remember " A woman is like a tea bag - you can't tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water" ..Eleanor Roosevelt. All must visit.

Yelp
A truly unique, personal, and high quality approach to tea. I've been in twice, when I am visiting the area from Chicago, and have such a great experience each time learning about tea from the owner and hearing her stories. She has a lot of integrity in her approach to tea and it shows in the carefully thought-out and personally-inspired blends of tea that she creates herself (mostly sold as individual tea bags, some are in bulk as well) and the array of bulk teas you can purchase by the ounce. Definitely worth a visit for those who enjoy tea or are looking for a special gift for someone who does.

Yelp
Outstanding tea shop. Wide range of delicious custom blended teas and beautiful collection of cups, tea pots and other tea-related accessories. Even if you aren't a tea drinker it is a great place to find a unique gift. Lovely and extremely knowledgeable owner.

Yelp
Huge selection of loose and packaged teas for purchase. I love the selection, especially the owner's personal recipes which she says are created to her specifications by a master blender in Sri Lanka. My favorites include Apple Pie, Banana Bread and a peach flavored tea called Southern Belle. Just delicious! Can't wait to try them all as iced tea this summer.
