"Sit by one of the outdoor fire pits at this popular hotel and have a cocktail along with appetizers like scallop ceviche; lobster gazpacho; or foie gras mousse with black truffle.  Then move inside, or to the upstairs veranda to watch the boats sail by while dining on local tuna steak frites; roasted chicken with wheatberry risotto; or rigatoni with cherry tomatoes." - Beth Landman

I had an absolutely delightful experience at Baron's Cove restaurant! The food was not only incredibly delicious but also presented with an artful touch that elevated the dining experience. The excellent service provided by the staff further enhanced the overall ambiance. The outdoor seating area is a true gem, offering breathtaking views that perfectly complemented the culinary journey. If you find yourself in Sag Harbor, this is undeniably a must-visit spot. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Baron's Cove is the perfect place to indulge in a delectable meal while soaking in the charming atmosphere of this picturesque town.

The waterfront restaurant at Barons Cove in Sag Harbor provided a picturesque setting for our brunch. My wife and I savored an indulgent meal of Eggs Benedict and a fresh Burrata salad. We dined al fresco on the top-floor veranda, taking in the serene harbor views. The attentive and friendly staff made our experience all the more enjoyable.

Food was underwhelming. The Florentine Omelette was just ok, and the home fries were even more basic. The yogurt felt cheap and not of quality. Service was attentive but overall nothing to write home about.

Went to their price fixe menu for Thanksgiving this afternoon. One of the most horrific restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in 52 years of life. First course of soup came out COLD. No exaggeration, cold. Appetizer of crab cakes came out COLD in the center. Again when I say cold I mean cold out of the refrigerator. Main course comes out lukewarm warm except for the stuffing that was again COLD. The manager disappeared after the cold soup. When the stuffing was cold I went and found him. He told me he would “take care of my check” for all the inexcusable cold food. At $99/person plus drinks for 6 people I was certainly expecting the comp to be much more than the $100 off he gave me. Also included a 21% tip so I couldn’t even take it out of the top. This ruined our Thanksgiving meal. To add insult to injury we were there 2-1/2 hours for this disaster. I would never eat here again under any circumstance. They should close their doors based on the experience I suffered through today.

Attentive service. Well prepared dishes. The mussels are bountiful and burger cooked to order. Comfortable/relaxed environment. Indoor and outdoor porch seating overlooking the water. Elevator access.

Wonderful dinner. Food needs more attention ( one dish came out lukewarm and the beef tartare was 50 % capers) but service by Mikhael was friendly and attentive. Bartender downstairs was very nice too. Will definitely come back!

Google
Such a terrible restaurant in such a nice building. We were 1 of 2 tables, and the only table on the upper floor and somehow the service was still inattentive and our food was wrong. Half of the toast in the avocado toast was bread, do you know how to make toast? We had added an egg as there is that option on the menu, but no egg came with it. We had to wait several minutes to even find someone to ask for the egg. As a server myself, you should be checking in with a table 2 minutes after they get their food to see if it came out right. The hollandaise sauce in the eggs benedict was orange and seemed more like an aioli but it was okay. The home fries were obviously frozen and dry, and I didn’t see my server for a very long time to simply ask for ketchup. Outrages prices for mediocre food, that I could have cooked better at home. View was nice but it didn’t make up for the restaurant.

Great location. Cute hotel. Nice view. We’ve been eating out in sag harbor for years and wanted to try something new. But we were so disappointed with the restaurant. The food was really bad and we weren’t expecting this considering the price. We ordered a hamburger medium, it arrived burnt. Like completely burnt and dry. The half chicken was over cooked, dry and also burned. The halibut was like a rock, like it was left in an oven for 20 min (and it was supposed to be pan roasted!?). We also waited too long, almost an hour, for food to arrive. The waitress offered to bring us new food, but after waiting for so long, we just wanted to finish and leave. The wait staff was tried hard to do a good job. Bad tasting food is not the wait staffs fault. We did see the bad reviews on Google before we tried the restaurant, but we still wanted to give it a chance. Unfortunately we realized that the poor reviews were accurate, The restaurant should consider a new chef.

Yelp
This is a two-part review, one for lunch (served outdoors only) and one for dinner at their upstairs enclosed restaurant. Two different experiences although both at Baron's Cove. While it's pleasant to dine outdoors on a nice day, on a hot humid day without much shade the lunch experience was more akin to a sauna. Their limited lunch menu and high pricing ($16 surcharge for a few shrimp added to my salad!) coupled with glacially slow service made for a mediocre experience at best. One and done. Our dinner at Baron Cove's upstairs venue was much better. My mezcal-based "Smoky Summer" cocktail was delicious and refreshing. Tuna resting on a spiced tomato sauce and mashed potatoes (cheerfully substituted for included fries by our friendly server Aislinn) entree was very tasty and a good portion. My partner had local halibut with lentils. Although not a fish lover, he said the halibut tasted very fresh and finished everything. Service and room ambiance were excellent on a weekday evening, with good climate control.

Yelp
We came on Early spring. Right after the weekend the place opened for the season. We sat by the bar while waiting for our room to be ready. The cocktails are great. Bartender very friendly. We were hungry so we ended up having brunch. I lost the photos ‍ but the eggs Benedict is great, goes perfect with Mimosa. We went there for dinner as well n we had to send the grilled octopus back. It was not cooked right. The manager was quick to take it off our bill. The food that Everyone around me was having looked amazing. The service was a bit slow but courteous. I learned that all the workers at the place were from Jamaica. Very interesting. This is a great place for brunch bc dinner can be a little pricey n disappointing. I read mixed reviews about food and agree. There was live music downstairs on a Saturday but so packed can't even move around or order a drink

Yelp
Mediocre food and service. Disappointed we wasted one of our limited Hampton meals on this place. Live music, outdoor manicured lawn ambiance, and water view almost make up for the limited meal options and blandness.

Yelp
Horrible and significantly disappointing experience as to food, service and overall restaurant management. My group waited over an hour and a half for our order while several tables around us, who arrived after us, were served. Waitstaff would not give us any sense of how much longer we would need to wait, the meals were cold, and didn't arrive all at once. I left my name and number for management but two days later and I haven't heard anything. We were concerned walking in because a woman was also at front desk complaining about waitstaff and her overall stay. We heard her say that the AC was broken all weekend, the fire alarm went off every night, and as with my group the restaurant service was terrible. We were actually considering booking this hotel for a group trip but obviously will not be doing that. Highly recommend you find somewhere else to stay and eat.

Yelp
First of all let me comment on the overall ambience and perfect secluded location of the resort. Our server happen to be the same for dinner and brunch the next morning: Rochelle! Not only was she the perfect sounding board for ordering items office for dinner menu but she also had a great pallet and creative streak and became our partner in creation as we designed various mock tales on the spot and perfected them. Definitely a hidden gem. We were initially disappointed by the law yelp rankings of every other food place in sags Harbor but got extremely lucky staying at the Baron's Cove in finding that the treasure was indeed in our own backyard. The service was phenomenal and I constantly felt hydrated, the live music added a nice vacation vibe to the entire atmosphere and it's almost as if this place was made for them now Covid mandated outdoor dining experiences.

Yelp
If you're looking for a restaurant that screams the Hamptons you've found it! Fresh oysters and great lobster rolls! The ice cream sundae was a surprise highly recommend that for anybody that wants a fun and classic dessert

Yelp
We had dinner at Baron's Cove for our last night in Sag Harbor. We didn't stay at the resort, but wanted to try the restaurant since we heard there was a new chef. We booked a reservation 5 days prior via Resy and they require a credit card to book the reservation, so if you're not 100% sure you want to come here, I wouldn't recommend booking since there is a cancellation fee if you do not cancel within a 24 hour time frame from the reservation. We wanted a 7pm reservation, but couldn't book that, so we opted for a 6pm reservation. Check in was easy, but hostess wasn't that friendly. The restaurant itself was outdoors and we sat on the deck. Tables were following the socially distant guidelines and the servers all had masks on. Our server Akeen was fantastic. He was very friendly and welcoming. He told us the specials and his personal recommendations. He also took the time to read the notice on our reservation which was very nice to know he took the time to provide outstanding service. We started with Rose and calamari. Dinner choices were scallops and tilefish. Dessert was the blackberry crumble. Service 5/5 due to our server Akeen and his great demeanor and attention to detail. Food here was 3/5 - the tilefish was bland with no flavor. Calamari was average and the scallops were just okay. The blackberry crumble was nice, but nothing to rave about. Not sure who this "new chef" that all the workers are told to rave about is, but it was mediocre and we expected more from the food portion of the night. Ambiance 5/5 - scenery was beautiful and there was live music. It was very romantic and the heat lamps were perfect for a cooler September evening. Wanted to love this place, but not sure I'll return due to the food.

Yelp
Tried this venue for the first time and was not disappointed. I NEVER award 5 stars unless the establishment is insanely good. I would, if I could, give Barons Cove a solid 4.6 stars. The bar is vintage-cozy & welcoming. Small & intimate, with wonderful seating options. As with All establishments these days, all are hurting for good staff. It takes experience and some special attributes to be a waiter in a venue such as this, so they were short staffed. Only hitch in the experience. Food (I had some of the finest sea scallops I've ever had!), was superlative. The ?manager? stopped at the table, and was very on his game. Don't come if your account is maxed out, but all others-do come..., you'll not be disappointed.

Yelp
I had dinner on the outdoor patio and loved the ambiance and music. Service was excellent, and food fantastic. They had a form of lobster boil on the menu, and I ended up just having the lobster along with a small salad. The salad was excellent and fresh, with a great dressing. The lobster ended up coming with fresh corn and a soup that was incredibly tasty. Lobster was cooked perfectly. And they have a very nice wine list as well. Overall, an outstanding meal all around.

Yelp
0 Stars. Awkward hostess, flickering lights, UNBELIEVABLY SLOW SERVICE WITH VISIBLE IDLE WAITERS EVERYWHERE, Dry food. Everything a restaurant should NOT be. Owner seemed to be trying to swoon every other table because there were errors all abound. We only came here cause it was the only 4 star restaurant in the area - let us correct that to save everyone the trouble. Unreal.

Yelp
Wow. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Gorgeous venue, great service (Rachelle was our server) and amazing food. We had the Watermelon tomato salad- out of this world! The Cesar salad was very good. The grilled cauliflower steak was excellent as was the calamari; everything so fresh! To top it off the live music was just beautiful! Pricey but worth it.

Yelp
Service was so slow- I ordered a soda and it came over 15 minutes later and by then, my whole table had already finished their meals. Asked for water twice- it never came. They never bothered to refill anyone's water

Yelp
JUNE 2022- early dinner for four. Me- vegetarian only 2 entree options. i had the pasta. It was at room temp and a tatseless ragu of pesto and peas. .Friends had clams with a calamari appetizer. without going into detail i sensed something wrong when i first put napkin to my lips to wipe them. The napkin smelled like a kitchen dish towel that should have been thrown away long ago. I smelled my friends napkins as well and they all were putrid. Now onto the food- Calamari was rubber and they could not eat it. The clams were jus tolerable they said. Waitstaff was veruy good and congenial. if only they could cook! it never fails to amaze me the low standards that most of these restaurants have here in the east eand. there should be some standard that they have to meet that exceeds the local greasy spoom diners to justify the pricing. We didnt care because there is a nice view on the terrace of the harbor. Thats really what we paid the 200 plus bill for.

Yelp
First off, the appetizers couldn't even arrive at the same time. It was a good 15 minutes between the first ones and the time I got mine. Appetizers were fine but nothing special. Then I ordered a lemonade. When I tell you there wasn't a hint of lemon I really mean it. The only lemon in the whole drink was the wedge on the rim which I had to use to fix the wobbly table.(not joking here) then we got our entrees which were ABYSMAL. The scallops were sandy, the lobster rolls, soggy, and the truffle fries, truffle-less. The croutons were drenched with what I can only assume to be grease, and made the side salad inedible. For a $38 lobster roll you'd think they could hire a good chef - I guess not. I tell you from the bottom of my heart there is no way I would ever return. To say it was lackluster would be an understatement. I don't recommend eating here even if you're staying at the hotel. There are many better restaurants in the Hamptons / Sag Harbor area.
