The Restaurant Ljubljana

We just had the most amazing culinary experience at The Restaurant in Ljubljana. All the plates tasted even better than they looked. The paired wines from the region were extraordinary. Everything topped of with the excellent service of David. Thanks for wonderful experience. We highly recommend The Restaurant.

first off the service was amazing, and the desserts were delicious. that's where the three stars come from. however the main dish took an hour to come out and the mushroom risotto with prawns tasted quite bland. the atmosphere is pleasant and elegant.

We came here for a late afternoon meal on the strength of some very favourable reviews, and we were certainly not disappointed. The steak tartare was excellent, reflecting the fine quality of the meat. Being really picky, it would have been nice to have had a small bowl of finely chopped shallots and a little tabasco, but this may be a germanic thing. The octopus salad was the standout dish, with a fabulous mango dressing, with fennel and nice salty undertones from the capers. The octopus was flame grilled and beautifully tender and also slightly charred, adding to the flavour. The steak salad was also an excellent main course and could be cut like a knife through butter. We finished the meal with a fabulous crème brûlée, that was creamy and not too sweet. The cheese board was also full of local Slovenian delights, including a very tasty black variety that was extremely tasty. Restaurant Ljubjiana is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy top quality food. My only other observation is that one is spoilt for choice and it is really hard to pick from the excellent range of food on offer!

Had a lovely evening meal here to celebrate my birthday - friendly, knowledgeable waiter who advised on wine to go with our food. Definitely recommend, and do book! For great value, you could try the lunch set course menu.

The place is absolutely beautiful and the food was incredibly delicious! The atmosphere is cozy, and the service was fast and well-organized. I would especially like to thank Naje, a truly wonderful and kind person. He clearly loves his job and makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Such a great experience — I’ll definitely come back again! 🙏🏻🥰

Best meal in Slovenia! The cold starters were excellent . Despite a huge group, the servers were very professional and friendly! Must visit!

If you like grill, this is one of the best places in Ljubljana. We went for dinner and decided for meat. Appetizires: - chicken pate: really very good and tasty - carpaccio: as it should be Main course - tomahawk steak; grilled to perfection Vegetables not so perfect, potatoes good. Also tagliata was good. Dessert were all the same - quite ok, but for me a dissapointment. If we talk only grill, 5 stars. But all together 4 stars.
