How Napa Valley's Auberge du Soleil Wins with Food + Rooms

"At One StarThe Restaurant, diners can expect French-inspired cuisine with a California flair. The wine is grown from the vineyards directly below, and the seasonal produce is sourced each week at the local Farmers’ Market." - Kevin Chau

Had an absolutely tremendous lunch at the restaurant. This is a gorgeous Michelin star hotel with a fantastic 1 Michelin star, and with a view surpassed by very few. It was a beautiful day and perfect for leisurely outdoor dining, with stellar service provided by David and the unforgettable ambiance of the surroundings. We chose the 3 course option and each was divine. The WILD SHRIMP SALAD, SAUTÉED NORTHERN HALIBUT, CABERNET BRAISED SHORT RIB, and unbelievable chocolate desserts were to die for. It was like a week of vacation in two hours and we hated to leave. A true haven.

Google
Auberge du Soleil is a stunning restaurant, and our table on the terrace was beautiful, though daylight savings made it too dark to enjoy the full view. The staff was knowledgeable and kind, and my husband chose the chef’s tasting menu while I selected the four-course option. Throughout the night we received multiple unexpected amuse-bouches and palate cleansers, which made the overall amount of food overwhelming — the portions were far larger than we expected for a tasting experience. I also have a shellfish allergy (noted in the reservation and confirmed at the table), yet one of the surprise dishes was squid. I had to send it back. Additionally, I never received the cheese course I ordered, though it didn’t appear on the check. My appetizer and entrée weren’t to my taste, though the chocolate dessert was exceptional. My husband enjoyed his selections more than I did, but still felt they didn’t completely wow him. The restaurant is gorgeous and the service was good, but overall I was underwhelmed. Some factors were personal preference, but the allergy oversight, unexpected extra dishes, and missing course were disappointing.

My husband and I dinned for dinner and I selected the four course option without wine pairings. The staff, particularly Jackson Whitman, was very accommodating with menu substitutions and flexibility. For my first course, I was craving a salad and although not on the menu, he kindly offered a house salad and it was very fresh. My second course selection was the roasted cauliflower, a main course option yet substituted. For my third course I enjoyed the potato gnocchi and every bite literally melted in my mouth. This was my third time tasting this dish and it is always consistent, delicious, and memorable. Lastly, dessert was apple cider donuts (WOW). Between the courses, we were offered complementary bites of lobster and tuna tartar plus a palate cleanser. I did try a holiday cocktail called the Golden Mule and it was average. The food was Michelin star caliber, atmosphere charming and comfortable, and great service from most of the team. Jackson’s professionalism, relaxed demeanor, and detailed knowledge/presentation of the food courses confirms why I always look forward to returning.

Google
Very disappointing experience. I booked this restaurant over a month in advance and traveled 3,000 miles to dine here, only to be seated next to the service door — noisy, uncomfortable, and definitely not what you expect from a fine dining restaurant promising great valley views. Lunch menu is limited, food quality not really worth a Michelin star. Perhaps dinner menu is better? When I asked to move, I was told they’d arrange a table change, so we waited. Unfortunately, that promise was never kept, even though several tables sat open the entire time. At this price point, guests deserve better service and basic consideration. Fine dining isn’t just about food — it’s about how you’re treated and excellent customer service. I expected a memorable lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday; instead, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences of my life. Restroom cleanliness not at pair either, no paper or cloth towels to dry your hands. Take your business somewhere else! Napa valley has a lot to offer

Google
A memorable Michelin-star experience overall. We had the four-course dinner, and most of the dishes were outstanding—rich in flavor, beautifully plated, and thoughtfully crafted. The appetizers and desserts were especially exceptional, showcasing depth and creativity. The only slight letdown was the main course: I had requested the lamb to be well-done, but it arrived undercooked, and the halibut was a bit underwhelming in flavor. That said, the service, ambiance, and overall culinary experience were truly top-tier. Would definitely return for the rest of the menu.

From the moment we walk through the front door we knew we were in for a special night. We were promptly seating at a lovely table on the terrace overlooking the Napa Valley. We were immediately greeted by Michael our captain. Michael’s approach for his work made our night even more special. Michael spent time and explained in great detail almost every item on the menu with passion and enthusiasm. After ordering we were offered a perfectly paired wine to complement our dinner selections. The beauty of this is that the wine is offered in 3oz or 6oz pours. So if you like to try different wines you are not tasked with a full glass. The food was next level. The presentation was something out of a magazine. The flavor profiles stimulated every taste bud in your mouth. All this while sitting hillside in Napa. If you are looking for a culinary experience in lieu of a night out for dinner, Auberge du Soleil is a must visit.

We've been to this restaurant on multiple occasions and have generally had a great experience. The food, as always, was quite good. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. We noticed that the service has declined and is no longer at the level one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. The servers were distracted and inattentive to our table.

This is without a doubt the best brunch we’ve ever enjoyed! It was also the best meal we had when visiting Napa (and Sonoma) on this trip! We came in for brunch on a Saturday and were fortunate to be seated right along the railing overlooking the valley below. Our server was incredible… his knowledge of not only the menu, but also every ingredient and the actual preparation of everything was incredible! Everything we asked about the menu, he gave us a great description! Everything we ordered came out amazing!!! Fresh ingredients, amazing and unique preparation, and unbelievable flavor! Can’t recommend enough for folks to stop in and try their brunch… or any meal for that matter as I’m sure they’re all great here!

Yelp
My husband booked our anniversary lunch at this incredible Michelin-starred restaurant. It was our first time dining at a Michelin establishment, and everything, from the food to the service, was absolutely exceptional. The ambiance was stunning, with breathtaking views of the vineyards and the valley. We were seated at a table that overlooked the vines, making the experience feel truly romantic and magical. The in house- Chardonnay is a must-try; it perfectly complemented the meal and was affordable! We visited during restaurant month, which offered a fantastic deal on their prix fixe menu. I started with the lobster soup, which was rich and flavorful. For the main course, I chose the Sonoma chicken, which was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. But the real star of the meal was the key lime cheesecake paired with avocado gelato. It was fresh, unique, and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend visiting for lunch so you can enjoy the great views of the valley!

Yelp
We went here for brunch for my 50th birthday back in March (I'm lazy when it comes to reviews--sue me). I know we enjoyed it much better than our first Michelin star experience (Press). But I don't remember leaving there thinking it was amazing. The service was fantastic. We ate on the patio and the view was lovely. Everything we ate was delicious (what I can remember anyway). The parking for this place is a bit weird. There was only valet parking (so be sure to bring some cash for tipping!). We weren't prepared for that. Let's just say we're not their typical clientele. ;) Overall, we enjoyed our meal but I think we left there thinking Michelin starred restaurants aren't our thing.

Yelp
I had the good fortune of dining at Auberge du Soleil for my birthday-my very first experience at a 3-star Michelin restaurant. Ambiance: It's beautiful, of course. As you enter the restaurant, the left wall is lit by stylized flowers lining it. Very modern, and it sets a nice tone for the dining experience-kind of like how hearing the intro theme music from your favorite show gets you excited to watch it even before it starts. You know, like how you used to feel as the into played for a new Game of Thrones episode, but I digress! Back to the ambiance. The interior decor is modern, elegant, and light. It doesn't overshadow the food, which is the real star here. We came in the evening and it was too dark to be able to see the view, which I understand is impressive in the light of day. I hope to be back to see it. Service: Our server was approachable and knowledgeable. She helped us select our champagne and helped me figure out which courses to choose when I was struggling between two options. One of the ways I could tell we were at a Michelin-starred restaurant was when our server poured the champagne we ordered. She decided it wasn't bubbly enough and opened a new bottle for us. She was absolutely correct-the difference was noticeable. But I'm the kind of person who would never insist on opening a new bottle of champagne for that reason, and having our server be so devoted to making our dining experience a pleasant one that she made that call for us was very cool. Food: The food was fabulous--and I can't think of one thing that could have been better or wasn't quite right, or even a minor tweak I would have made to a dish. It was all excellent. We started out with two amuse bouches: a mushroom oyster mixture on top of puffed pastry and halibut (I think) with seaweed sitting in a green broth. Both were delicious. They served my partner with two different amuse bouches to accommodate his seafood allergy, which he also really enjoyed. We opted for the four course tasting menu, which allows you to choose each course from about four or five dishes. This menu worked well for us because my partner is allergic to seafood and was able to choose dishes that made made navigating his allergy simple. Yay! The restaurant also offers a six course tasting menu, with dishes that were mostly different from the three or four course tasting menus. I went with the chilled main lobster starter, with fuyu persimmon, Cara Cara, hibiscus, and yuzu kosho. The lobster sat on top of what I would describe as a Japanese take on pico de gallo and Japanese persimmon. As you would expect, the pairing was awesome, with the flavors complimenting, instead of overpowering, the lobster. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed the persimmon/lobster combo. For my second dish, I went with the yellow fin tuna, with a sesame crust, orange daikon, bok Choy, tamari lime sauce. I was really struggling to choose between the tuna and the sea bass, but ultimately went with the tuna because I liked the accompaniments more. The tuna was fantastic. I've had sesame crusted tuna before at other restaurants, but this dish was so excellent, it felt like I was tasting the dish the way it was meant to be executed for the first time. For my main, I went with the prime beef, with celery root, grilled radicchio, baby carrots, and red wine sauce. Beef and red wine sauce is a classic combination, of course. The interesting thing to know about this dish is that it was also served with short rib (so yum) and the portion was quite generous for a tasting menu. It was everything you'd hope it would be. For my dessert, I chose the Valrhona Guanaja Chocolate Fondant, with garden mint ice cream, whipped crème fraiche, minted marshmallows, and a cocoa nib crumble. I appreciated the little touches that made this dish feel elevated, like the cocoa nib crumble, the garden mint ice cream had a freshness in a way I've never experienced before, and the mini mint marshmallows were really fun. I was so full by this point, I could not finish it, sadly. For my partners courses, he went with the burrata, the butternut squash and ricotta cappelletti, the prime beef, and the chocolate sorbet with rum cake and passion fruit. He loved them all but I think his favorites were the prime beef and the chocolate sorbet. He loves passion fruit, so this dish was just the perfect combination for him. Before sending you home, they offer a few sweet treats, which the server was kind enough to box for us because there was no way I could finish them. When we ultimately ate them -the guava pate de fruit was the star, and that's not even normally my thing, as a lover of all things chocolate. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and a great way to celebrate another trip around the sun. If life takes me back here for another dining experience, I'd be elated.

Yelp
Amazing view and service during brunch. We got our starter drinks with a basket of pastries (bread, muffin and scone). We ordered three items each from the prix fixe menu, all delicious! From the beginnings, we got the gnocchi and octopus. Great flavors and texture. The pork chop was so tender and juicy, fantastic! The sea bass was good as well. We got one chocolate dessert and a persimmon cake dessert. I really liked the 70% Vietnamese chocolate. The pacing of the food was good and service was attentive with water and clearing our crumbs from the table. There was complimentary valet parking when we arrived. Definitely a memorable birthday brunch!

Yelp
My first time dining here and it was an incredible experience! We got the 4 course tasting, but between the bread, amuse-bouche, palette cleanser, and candies/chocolate to finish the meal, it was 9 courses! I loved each dish and got the scallop, yellowfin tuna, prime beef, and chocolate cremeaux. Each was a delightful bite! The rest of the table raved about their dishes as well and the only slight complaint was the summer squash dish was too small compared to the rest of the mains. Amazing restaurant!

Yelp
I went here for my birthday on 2/9/25 at 5:30pm and I had high hopes especially considering it's a michelin star restaurant . I was super excited reading the reviews but to be frank, this restaurant is nothing to write home about (respectfully). I had requested to be seated on the terrace, being that the view was a main attraction when I selected this restaurant to celebrate the occasion. When we got there they let us know that wasn't an option, I would have appreciated a heads up or notification of this when I booked my reservation or when I called to confirm my reservation but that's something to keep in mind in case the view is also something you're looking forward to, just be proactive and double check the availability before your visit. The food was okay, neither me nor my guest raved about the dishes. Except for the banana panna cotta! I would definitely recommend if you're reading this! I also appreciate how they personalized the dish, definitely made me feel special. Overall, this restaurant is very expensive for the quality you receive and I would not recommend regardless of their Michelin star rating. Earlier this day we went to Sterling Vineyards and I would say if you want celebrate a special occasion with unique dishes, packed with flavor, paired with excellent wines- go there! Had I known, I would've made Sterling Vineyards my only visit.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my mom's birthday. I called a week ahead to make a booking for 5 for Saturday brunch and the lady informed us the only table available was at 2:15pm, which I happily accepted. Once we arrived at the entrance we were greeted by the valet. The parking lot was crowded so we left our cars to the professionals. We arrived on time but the host informed us the table was not ready so we walked around the property to take photos of the views. Once we were seated we started our late meal by first having a drink which was included in the brunch menu. The server was professional and friendly. Our drinks were good but nothing exceptional-- that's enough for a welcome drink. Now onto the meal: - seared yellowtail tuna was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and marinated. For some reason i didn't feel it tasted fresh-fresh per se but it's a wonderful dish! -the duck was delicious. I thought it would come in a traditional French duck confit style but it came out like a stir fry-- surprise ! It definitely tasted Asian fusion and it's so flavorful . It's delicious! -short rib was good too and the portion was huge. I wasn't a big meat fan so this was a little too much for me. According to my friend, the gnocchi appetizer was amazing. I had the corn soup which was good but not impressive. Oyster also performed ok. Desserts were wonderful!! cannot go wrong with any of those on the menu. We also really liked the warm bread with lemon curd and butter! We were so hungry we had two rounds of bread :)

Yelp
Auberge was amazing. As soon as we walked in, my partner and I were greeted by the friendly hosts. The service was wonderful all through the night. My partner and I got the oysters, hamachi crudo, mushroom soup and bone marrow. The oysters were delicious. I believe I liked the east coast the best. The hamachi crudo melted in my mouth. The mushroom soup was surprisingly delicious; I don't care for mushrooms that much, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was excited for the bone marrow for a more unique dish and it what exactly I was hoping for, with some bread to spread it with on the side :) And to top it all off, it was so beautiful catching dinner right at sunset.

Yelp
Star Out Man Despite a hit-or-miss first Michelin-starred dining experience last year, we knew that it was something that we wanted to experience more of. The flavors, presentations, and service levels were unlike ordinary restaurants that we'd experienced in the past. Enter The Restaurant at Auberge Du Soleil (Sun Inn) hotel and resort, which has held onto a Michelin star for *sixteen* consecutive years and is touted by the Michelin guide as "...one of the first restaurants to elevate the Napa Valley to greatness..." And is "... the very definition of California Cuisine." Now, with clout like that, who can resist? And to celebrate Carissa's 50th birthday, I pried open the purse strings and booked us a brunch for two. The Good: *Reservations via OpenTable--and are REQUIRED to dine here. Don't show up without one, unless you're willing to grease a few palms, ja feel? *"Free" valet parking *Three-course brunch menu is a relatively good deal ($115/per) with the aforementioned three courses, plus a drink, and some delicious baked goods to start the meal. Their two or three lunch courses aren't too bad either coming in at $85/per & $105/per, respectively. *Unlike most Michelin restaurants, The Restaurant offers up continuous dining from 11:30 a.m. - 11 p.m. *You can just order á la carte, as well, and forgo the tasting menus. *Service is exceptional, as it should be for an establishment like this. *Make sure to ask for their covered dog-friendly patio for some of the most spectacular views of the Napa Valley. *The Roasted Pork Belly Congee and Cabernet-Braised Short Ribs were both phenomenal. Melt-in-your-mouth texture with flavors that sing and sides that are paired perfectly with their respective proteins. *Their "beginnings" plate that features sourdough bread and some outgrew baked goods was fantastic. The Meh: *Credit card required to hold the reservation with a $50/per for no-show or cancelation less than two days in advance. *Bar prices are pretty ridiculous. I mean, $13 for a pint of IPA is a bit much, but yeah, yeah, I get it. *Their desserts are a little on the strange side and are more about molecular gastronomy than what most people are used to. I totally get where they were going with what they presented, but I dunno. Just not really my jam, I'm afraid. Definitely interesting to try, tho! The Ugly: *Michelin *and* Yelp list them at four $$$$, so be prepared... Conclusion: Overall, few misses, but more hits than our previous Michelin excursion. But with proteins cooked that masterfully, they're definitely worth exploring. Will definitely be back at some point once my wallet recovers, that is. :0)

Yelp
The best place ever! Service and ambiance is amazing! Food and drinks are on par with the ambiance. I feel like I'm in France when I'm there. One of my favorite restaurants in Napa County!! Everything there is to die for

Yelp
Tucked on a hill, the Restaurant at Auberge du Soleil whisks you away to your own intimate Napa brunch la la land. You get a view of the rest of the hotel as well as their own vineyards below. For $115 prix fixe menu, we came for a weekend brunch. The prix fixe includes a drink, appetizer, entree and dessert. There was also delicious offerings with their bread basket with lemon poppyseed muffins, scones, sourdough bread along with butter and lemon curd. The service was great, although there was one snafu with our waitress. My husband doesn't drink alcohol and wanted to substitute a mocktail. She originally said it was covered but then brought it but said it wasn't. However, we were able to substitute it with another option on the menu. Elsa was an amazing server as she helped replenish our waters, bread basket and was very attentive. Highlights of the meal were: Potato Gnocchi with mushrooms in parmesan foam. The softest, most pillowy gnocchi I've ever tasted. Another highlight was the dessert (strawberry rhubarb). Hubby's entree was also delicious, the cabernet braised short rib. They give a sizeable portion for brunch and was done really well. The view, service & food made this an enjoyable and memorable way to celebrate a special occasion.

Yelp
Let me start with - this was my first dining experience at a Michelin star restaurant and it was amazing! We enjoyed a very nice, scenic 3 course brunch overlooking Napa Valley. Service was impeccable from beginning to end. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, answered all our questions and described the food confidently. Servers and staff were well versed in all aspects of the menu. In the prix fixe brunch menu, we started off with the pastry basket and requested extra blueberry muffins because they were freshly baked and so good! For the first course, we enjoyed the white asparagus and roasted pork belly. For the second course, we had the Northern Halibut with an onion crust and the Duck Confit Hash. For dessert, we had the Chocolate Cremeux Dessert and the Crimson Red Rhubarb & Chiffon. The view from the patio is just as incredible as the food itself. Each course was delivered in a timely fashion. The person delivering the course would reiterate what each dish entailed and point out the nuances of each dish. I'll be honest, at first, I thought brunch was super spendy, but given the entire experience with our stellar service, quality of food, beautiful view and overall experience, it is so worth it! This is fine dining at its best. Its's well worth the short drive from downtown Napa. We've added this as one of our stops for our annual girl's trip.

Yelp
Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 5/5 PHENOMENAL experience at THEE restaurant. My friend and I had a 12pm reservation here and appreciated the complimentary valet. Service was on point the entire time by the entire staff--front desk, valet, waiters. We initially sat outside despite the grey skies to appreciate the view but then moved indoors by the fireplace once it began raining. Staff was helpful and understanding. GREEN GARLIC SOUP - memorable and very delicious. I'd order this every time I visit. SAUTÉED BLACK BASS - crispy exterior and cooked to perfection. The parsley sauce complimented the fish wonderfully MANILA MANGO - 5/5 dessert for me! This was the perfect blend of fresh fruit and creamy cake.

Yelp
Surprised this is not all five star reviews! We had two breakfasts, one lunch and one dinner here. All we're outstanding and service is so friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I could live here. For breakfast, I highly recommend anything that includes toast and bacon. For lunch, a salad or a burger, amazing. and for dinner, what do you want? You really need to go with a lot of people so that you can all get different things and share! For me, the soup was a hands-down winner. And the bread, oh my gosh, the bread. I would like to mention the servers who were extraordinary, but the only two names I can remember are from breakfast and cat from dinner. Oh, and there was Alex (?) who told us about our wines! But our lunch server, and oh my gosh, the hostess! I really can't wait to go back. Everyone, everything.... amazing beautiful delightful. Thank you. Bless you all.

Yelp
The view from the restaurant at Auberge du Soleil is beautiful. The table setting was a bit awkward since only two of us could face the view. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. I ordered oysters on the half shell which were very fresh. My quail dish was well prepared and tasty. It is very expensive a place to dine. We were there to celebrate a birthday.

Yelp
Superb food , amazing views and excellent service!! The prices are just a tad on the high end but nothing crazy. If in the Napa area, it is most definitely recommended!!

Yelp
the food, the views, the service, the michelin star, everything - obsessed! located in a luxury hotel, this French-inspired restaurant boasts amazing views & top-notch service. the food was delicious and i appreciated the variety of options in each course. also thought the portion sizes were pretty decent considering it's a michelin star restaurant (for 16 consecutive years !), as those tend to give you teeny-tiny portions. if you're looking to come here for dinner, i would recommend trying to secure an earlier reservation so you get a table in a prime location + can appreciate the views !! three-course prix fixe menu: - starters: albacore tataki, chilled maine lobster, sautéed diver scallop, veal sweetbreads - seconds: pan-seared yellowfin tuna, green garlic risotto, northern halibut - mains: spiced local lamb, prime beef pavé
google avatar

Olesya M.

Yelp
This is a beautiful space and you absolutely need to get here before sunset otherwise you can't see into the valley at all. The service, as expected, was excellent. The food was good but not great. I agree with the other review that said it was a hit or miss. We opted to do the 3 course menu. First course thoughts: the pumpkin bisque was mild in flavor though the portion was generous. I couldn't finish it. The pork belly was well done. Second course: potato gnocchi was tasty but I didn't enjoy the foamy top layer and didn't feel it added anything to the dish. I guess it looked impressive. Meanwhile the prime beef was perfectly cooked. One of the desserts has bourbon ice cream that was delicious. Overall I'd come back for brunch next time so I can enjoy the view longer.

Yelp
My first Michelin star restaurant. I am glad I came here but only had time for a quick lunch before a wine tasting. I ordered the bone marrow appetizer thinking it might be small. I was wrong lol. It was very filling that I couldn't order anything. The fat and creaminess of the marrow paired with the garlic toast was great. Some I love salt, I added a little of the rock salt it was served over. The service was top notch and friendly. Even on a cloudy day the view from the patio was gorgeous. This is a must visit when in napa.

Yelp
My most recommended spot to try in Napa and very much worth the Michelin star! Auberge de Soleil is is the midst of the Napa mountains so it is a bit ways in, but even the way getting there was beautiful. I had made reservations for lunch a couple of weeks in advance. For prime time, make sure to have reservations as early as possible. Everyone at the restaurant was pleasant and very helpful! We were seated on the outside terrace facing the valley, which was a breathtaking view! Try to request this spot when making reservations! We enjoyed the three course meal (~100 per person). As a starter, I had the oysters, then the quail as entree, and the seasonal peach dessert. My husband got the pork belly as appetizer, chicken for entree, and the blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Presentation was on point for everything, but the desserts were on another level! Especially, the blueberry cheese cake! Amazingly smooth and not too sweet. I would love to come back and experience the amazing view and food!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service, wonderful view, the food was hit or miss. The service was so friendly and attentive. The view into the valley was worth the price tag. We went there for brunch on a sunny day. I loved the appetizer and one of the desserts, didn't like the entrees. Somehow the brussel sprouts in my braised short ribs were very salty. The miso sweet potato saved the dish but I didn't finish it. Highlights: lemon glazed pork belly, potato gnocchi, valrhona chocolate, peanut with whisky ice cream dessert.

Yelp
A beautiful restaurant with stunning views delivering immaculate food. This was the first restaurant we visited during our trip to Napa and it was by far the best. This is the restaurant you want to book if you're looking for the ultimate experience and a food journey you won't forget all while taking in the beauty of the landscape. The local Michelin star restaurants need to step up to this level!

Yelp
Beautiful ambiance and good food. We left feeling pretty full from the 4-course pre-fix. The best dish of the night was the chilled main lobster. Everyone in our party of 4 loved it. The liberty duck was a close second (but the leg on the side was drowning in a sauce that was way too sweet - bummer bc it was otherwise perfectly cooked and super tender). The shrimp risotto wasn't bad either. Skip the halibut and the prime beef pave. Service was good. Waiters were attentive in refilling drinks and bread. Our waiter had his own assistant! And the food came out fast without too much wait time between courses. We were only able to snag an 8:15pm reservation but luckily we called a couple hours before to see if we could come earlier and they said totally fine. Overall, we were pleased with the experience and would come back again!

Yelp
My husband, our little one, and I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant during our trip to Yountville last week. The service was prompt, attentive, and the staff were extremely accommodating to our baby, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The view was breathtaking, especially with the perfect weather. We also had a wonderful bottle of wine which paired beautifully with the exceptional food. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an outstanding dining experience. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
We went for Father's Day brunch and everything was absolutely fantastic. We did have one complaint and that was our server wasn't good at all. He didn't check on us at all and was pretty rude when we asked him a question. You could tell all his attention was on certain types of customers. However, I didn't take away any stars because every other employee in that place were phenomenal. They were so sweet, kind, and helpful. Shoutout to Adriana and Citlali....those two were the absolutely sweetest! They were lovely to talk to and were such hard workers. We had a lovely outside table with a gorgeous view. The bread and pastry basket was delicious. I have been craving scones for months now and haven't found a good one anywhere. The freshly baked lemon poppyseed scones satisfied that craving. Absolutely amazing. They only gave one scone in the bread basket, but they were very kind to get us some extra when we asked. The lemon curd to go with the scones was amazing too. We all could have overdosed on their bread too. Unfortunately, the chicory salad wasn't a hit. The gnocchi was wonderful and the summer squash soup was full of flavor! The duck confit hash and the short rib were out of this world. The portions are extremely generous too and none of us could finish the entrees! Now we have a little mini dinner or snack for later. The desserts were lovely, but the favorite was the strawberry Mille-feuille. We wouldn't get the chocolate mousse torte again. The key lime posset was light and refreshing! There is complimentary valet parking. Those guys are all rockstars! The amount of cars they were juggling was so impressive. They maneuver through the small spaces with no issue and are extremely polite. Definitely make sure to tip them well as they are such hard workers! We can't wait to go back! It was a lovely day!

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding place. Everything was perfect for our lunch. The view is breathtaking. The service is impeccable and the pace is just right (never waited, were never rushed). Each dish was delicious creative and fresh. The beau soleil oysters, the gnocchis were my highlights but honestly everything we tried was delicious. $105 for the 3 courses is really good value. They also have a great selection of wines (tried their White House wine and it was delicious).

Yelp
There is no question about this restaurant. Above and beyond. The service was great. Food was very small portion but very tasty. I don't think one order would be enough for one person. Great design and view. Overall, definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Thinking back on this experience, the first word that comes to mind is "Wow." I was lucky and scooped up a 2pm brunch reservation which was honestly a solid way to experience what Auberge du Soleil has to offer and came with a brunch drink and 3 courses for $105. To start, I had Roasted Pork Belly that was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. For my main, I had the Short Rib and it was also tender and delightful. For brunch dessert, I had the trio of sorbets and they were tasty and wonderfully balanced. Ambiance and views were absolutely beautiful and when it started to rain, multiple servers moved us indoors before we even had a chance to become uncomfortable. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars, honestly. Easily the best brunch I've ever had-- I've been recommending it to everyone since.

Yelp
This place is absolutely worth their 1 Michelin star! I booked this place for my hubbys bday before and it's got an amazing outdoor view. We were seated outdoor in their balcony and the view was breath taking. We ate somewhat early at 6pm and it was pretty easy to find parking otherwise valet will park for you. We went with the tasting menu where you pick 3 items from each course we went with the pork belly to start which was amazingly tender and it was pretty flavorful. Cows milk burrata salad was also really tasty, the sweet peaches with the burrata was amazing. We got the heirloom tomato risotto next and it was so delicious! I would have to say it was one of our fave courses. He went with the Japanese a5 and I got the prime beef pave. Both were so juicy , tender and delicious. The Japanese a5 was really good and it didn't disappoint. The beef pave was also good just not as tender as the a5. We finished off dessert with a berry shortcake which was amazing. They also gave us chocolates and caramels at the end. They were so good. Service and food were on point here, I would definitely come back here for another special occasion. Definitely worth the splurge! Total for 2: $400

Yelp
We've been all over Napa's upscale dining scene over last 20+ years, but this is our first time to Auberge du Soleil. The view from both indoor and especially outdoor dining area is as advertised! The menu contains mostly upscale American items with some French influence. Wanting to see the views, we happily opted for lunch, with both of us getting Cobb salads and we shared the bone marrow app. Zero surprise you're paying extra-extra for the view, but service was appropriately attentive.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and we went all in! I did the 4 course and my hubs went with the 6 course. It was so much food! My biggest issue was that we were there for 3.5 hours... dinner started at 5:30 and we didn't leave until 9pm! Often between courses the wait was rather long... We had the most beautiful terrace view so sunset was stunning! Now let's talk about the food! The hamachi with uni was divine! So fresh and perfectly chilled! This dish is a winner! The pork belly was also incredible! Just melts in your mouth.. The diver scallop was the best I have ever had, it was also bigger than any scallop I've ever had. The halibut was good and was cooked perfectly. More on the bland side. The quail was one of my favorite things, the wild rice was so lemony! Had a great zing of flavor! The lamb was cooked perfectly medium rare The duck was some of the best I've ever tasted but I didn't care for the mustard sauce on the skin. It was so overpowering to my palate. I just cut that part off. I got the mango Manila for dessert. The tres leches cake that went with it was the best part for me but it somehow didn't go with all the really sour flavors? There was a lot of lime in the dish. The flavors seemed to be contradictory to me. I tried my husband's loukoumades, which were donuts topped with bananas foster and cinnamon icecream and I preferred his dessert over mine by far. The service was good, the waiters were constantly cleaning plates and silverware between each and every course! I get that this wasn't just dinner but an entire experience but 3.5 hours was just so long. It was very busy so I'm not sure if it's usually that long of a dining experience? The food was a special treat and I would love to come back and try everything else someday.

Yelp
Great breakfast that is reserved for guests and is open to the public for brunch and dinner. This 1 Michelin star restaurant has exceptional service and has great views of the valley if you sit in the patio area. The breakfast/brunch food is simple but tasty. Dinner has a prefixed menu option that I would recommend trying. It changes but you can select 3-4 courses including 3 meats/mains if that is your fancy. Very solid restaurant in the Napa area. Reservation is almost required.

Yelp
My husband and I were excited to try out this Michelin star restaurant during our recent trip to Napa. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. We were there late but I bet the views during the daytime are fabulous. The inside is very chic with neutral earthy tones and the porch is very nice to sit on. They also had heaters in case it was a little chilly. The prix fix course options include 3 and 4 courses, we opted for 3 since we knew we likely would not have room for dessert. They have a very extensive wine list of course. Our service was top notch. Now to the food - overall some amazing dishes but also some huge disappointments (which arguably may even push this closer to 3 stars). The winners were the scallop appetizer and the beef entree. The Japanese waygu was also very good. The shrimp risotto was very disappointing. It had so much lemon in it that was all you could taste, no balance at all. The soup was just okay, I had much higher expectations. I would go back but maybe read more reviews first and order what others recommend!

Yelp
We ate at the bar here, and we had a breathtaking sunset view. The service was attentive and polite, even when I haphazardly spilled a glass of wine. The food itself was the level of a standard restaurant, with the standouts being the corn pasta and then mushroom side. Come here for a great low key meal!

Yelp
My recent dining experience at Auberge du Soleil was nothing short of exceptional. The breathtaking view added a touch of magic to the evening, while the food surpassed all expectations. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. The waitstaff were attentive and courteous, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the meal. Overall, it offers a perfect blend of ambiance, culinary excellence, and top-notch service.

Yelp
Maybe I had too high expectations about this restaurant. Desserts saved the dinner, not others. From the start, they forgot the spoon for our little soup that came as amuse-bouche. Hamachi crudo was okay, but it had some fishy aftertaste. Risotto was just inedible(too salty), maybe no need for the olive in the center. Sea bass was great, but the mussels that came with were undercooked. Our main was also undercooked and served lukewarm; we requested medium-rare for both beef and duck, came as almost rare. Dessert, the persimmon cake was incredible. Mandarin orange cream was great as well, but the presentation could've been better. Service was just ok, not superb.

Yelp
What an amazing culinary experience! We went celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and the experience did not disappoint! Eric was our server and was very attentive, wonderful explanation of the menu and great recommendations. The entire staff was exceptional and truly crafted an amazing evening. Our view was spectacular of Napa Valley! Reservation was at 5:3pm and timing was perfect. Got to see the beauty of the region before the sunset. Definitely be there before sunsets to capture the beauty. The culinary experience was top notch. I got so engrossed I forgot to capture our second course. We had first course of the corn soup and the chilled lobster. Second course was pan seared ahi tuna and heirloom tomato risotto. Main course was potato gnocchi and prime beef pave. All courses was full of wonderful flavors and depth. We truly enjoyed each bite. Dessert we kept it simple with the trio sorbet and it was a great cleanse of the palette. Overall a wonderful experience worth every penny!

Yelp
Late review (went on a Wed before Christmas 2022) I really enjoyed Auberge's friendly service and classy atmosphere without feeling the snobbishness often associated with Michelin Star experiences. I liked that we had the choice of either a two or three course lunch from their ample menu so that my partner and I could share five items instead of being forced into a three-course pre-fixe menu per-person like at some other establishments. Outside dining has a wonderful view of the valley and is definitely a must! From start to finish, the food was fantastic. The slippery gnocchi had this tender yet firm bite after swimming in the savory mushroom broth. The gigantic seared octopus leg had a unique texture, not rubbery like I'd expect, but was soft and easy to chew - loved it more than I expected to! I absolutely loved the braised short rib - it was so tender, had great marbling, and was without a hint of dryness. The seared tuna was great but not mind-blowing. The cute cheesecake provided a creamy finale. Overall an amazing experience and completely worth the price.

Yelp
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants with one Michelin star. It's maintained it for 15 years straight, and for good reason. The food is delicious, the setting is beautiful, and the service is amazing. Surprisingly for us, we went with the prix-fixe menu over the tasting menu but I'm glad we did, every single course was wonderful. My favorites were the scallops and the risotto. I also loved how they brought multiple extra bites in between courses. This was truly a wonderful dining experience and I think I'll have to dine here every time I visit Napa. (November 2022)

Yelp
We did enjoy the experience and view. Service was good. The tuna tartare and desserts were excellent. A few things fell short. I ordered my burger medium and received a bloody rare burger. Couldn't even eat it and asked for it to be boxed and received the meat and bun without the lettuce, tomato slices, onions and pickle. For a $32 burger, please give me the toppings too. We also ordered a salad, which was huge and took the rest home since dressing was ordered on the side. Yet we asked for the dressing and didn't received that either.

Yelp
5 stars for me. The Halibut was one of the most tender flaky that I've ever had. The chiller lobster was a great starter. I really like the Local Lamb entree. The asparagus soup was delicious. I'd definitely come back to try the other dishes. Service was on point. I'd rank this very highly amongst other fine dining in the area.

Yelp
Went for a weekend brunch service after making a reservation on Open Table. We were promptly seated when we arrived and were given a walkthrough of how everything will flow. The service was great and the food overall was good. The highlights for us were the Potato Gnocchi, Seared Octopus, Sauteed Black Bass, espresso gelato in the torte and the pastries in the basket. The chicken was well cooked but taste gets a bit monotonous after a while. The outside seating area has great views. They have valet service on site.

Yelp
Our son's 30th bday was last week. He flew in from CO to spend time with friends and mom and dad. So we decided to go to Auberge, One Star Michelin. We'd been several times for lunch and once for dinner at least 10 years ago. We're foodies so this was really fun. First- the room is elegant with several fireplaces -- and not stuffy or pretentious at all. There were 6 of us and we sat around table which is ideal for conversation. No one left out. We started with cocktails to get warmed up and these were all around great. Right size, taste and presentation. One very large ice cube in the Old Fashioned. Martinis we're perfect, very cold without an iceberg on top. You get the picture. Service excellent from the git go. No rush, no pressure just moving at our pace. We began perusing the menu and after lots of looks and many questions we ordered the 4 course dinner. Each course has many options and the hardest thing you'll do is struggle on which item to have. Lots of great choices. Everything we had was great. Not good, but great. I rarely get to say that but this time it was delish. All the way around. I won't bore you with descriptions of each dish. I took a bunch of photos and a week later are struggling to remember all the things we had. Pictures below and if I miss labeled any the error is all mine. One note- I did bring one old very fine bottle of wine and bought a nice white to go with starters. The $40 cork age charge was waived since we brought a bottle. Desserts over the top. A lovely evening for sure. If you haven't been recently I'd go in a beat. All things considered at $160 each for the menu this was a relative bargain. Some Other Michelin restaurants have gone nuts on pricing. So go while it's in the ballpark.

Yelp
Took my husband here for a birthday lunch and was not disappointed. The terrace has a gorgeous view and the wait staff were awesome. Their house cab Sauvignon ended up being his favorite wine on our Napa trip! My scallops were beautifully prepared and my husband loved his cab marinated short rib. Everything from the ambience to the service to the food was absolutely top notch. Easily one of my favorite memories from our trip. I would highly recommend!

Yelp
Capped off last Napa trip w brunch at Auberge. It lived up to expectations. They accommodated my request for a front row seat to their famous view. Food was amazing. That short rib was legit. Service here is great. The valets gave us a tour of the property in their golf cart.

Yelp
Food, service, ambience - all great. If you can get a reservation, do it. We went here for a brunch before we went to a tasting. I think we were hungry and the portion was a bit smaller for us, but the quality of the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and hospitable. And see the pics, views for days.

Yelp
The list of shortfalls on meeting expectations at this restaurant goes on and on. This is my second time dine in at this restaurant, roughly three years apart and not much has changed. At the least, the food was good! Cudos to the hard working people in the kitchen. Anything outside of the kitchen was where things go south, literally roll straight down the hill of Napa Valley. I do not want to accuse without evidence, but word of advise, if you plan to bring your own bottle here, expect unprofessional service at AuBerge Du Soleil. The incident occurred to my uncle rather as well as myself, if you want your valuable empty wine bottle+cork back as souvenirs, please emphasize upfront so these value bottle don't end up where it should not be. Finally, the restaurant is unsupportive to vintners. Our host (a vintner in the area) generously brought two bottles of wine he made to share and our waitress had blunt comment and behavior that I thought were inappropriate. The service was so poor I look at the Michelin 1 Star plaque award and really ask myself multiple times if there is a day and night difference at this venue!! If you crave for upscale experience and good service, please visit other venue nearby and avoid this one, the view is not worth the treatment. On the view, the photos with people in it, there will be taken backlit against the sun so bring a flash to see if that will help.

Yelp
Good food and amazing views. It is on the expensive side. Take a walk around the property to enjoy the views and art
