My appointment was scheduled for 12:30 p.m., I arrived at 12:15 p.m. and was robed and ready for service at 12:20 p.m. I was asked to have a seat in the relaxation area and my massage therapist, Lasonda would be with me shortly. At 12:40 p.m. I was still waiting so I went to the front desk to ask the front desk worker (Bella was her name) if I was in the correct area waiting for my 12:30 p.m. appointment. Bella told me yes, I was in the correct area and she would check with my massage therapist to find out the hold up. Another customer walked in and Bella told me she would check her in and then see what the hold up was with my appointment. I then asked for a beverage while I was waiting, as Bella did not offer or ask if I wanted anything to drink while I waited. At 12:45 p.m. Bella came to inform me that Lasonda had the schedule mixed up and was finishing with her current appointment and would be with me soon. I asked what time would she be with me since my appointment was for 12:30 p.m. and Bella replied she did not know, could be any minute. At 1:00 p.m. Lasonda came to get me from the relaxation area for my 90 minute hot stone massage. Not once did she apologize for the inconvenience of being 30 minutes behind schedule. My massage with Lasonda was ok. After my service and during check out, I had a gift certificate I wanted to use towards my service. When booking online, it asked for the gift certificate number, which I entered but it still required my credit card number to book and the charge for service was applied. Bella told me there was nothing she could do but it refund me for my massage but it would charge me a 7% fee for the refund and had she known in advance she could have asked her customer service manager how to proceed. Remind you, I entered my gift certificate number on my online booking. Bella was very rude, nasty, and loud in trying to help me. I had to ask her to call someone to help resolve the issue because I refused to pay a 7% fee for something out of my control and not my fault. She walked off, with an attitude, to call Teri, the customer service manager. Ten minutes later, Bella returned stating the issue was resolved and to have a Happy New Year. I had to ask her what was the resolution. She stated I was refunded for the gift card amount and only charged the difference. I asked for a receipt for my records to make sure I receive the difference in my account. Bella continued being rude and stated I guess I can email it or something. I asked Bella to watch her attitude and her tone and she told me I had an attitude with her. Another customer whom I chatted with while waiting 30 minutes for my service, stated I did not have an attitude and had been a pleasure to talk with while we waited. Bella then said I have will have too get someone else to help you. Bella over talked me during the entire issue, did not listen to my concern, and was not professional at all. Another massage therapist came to help because several other customers were waiting to check in. Bella had the massage therapist to bring me my receipt for my service. The therapist (I believe her name was Shay) was nice and helpful and shared the owners contact number and the customer service manager's number with me to follow up on the issue. Teri, the customer service manager, called me 10 minutes after I finally left (3:08 p.m) to apologize for the issues I experienced. She offered for me to keep my gift card to use on the next visit, however, I explained to her that I will not be returning for any services at The Retreat Spa. Bella projected her frustration on me and accursed of having an attitude and Lasonda was 30 minutes late for my appointment and did not apologize. I will happily take my business to another spa with better service. I am just one person and sure my business will not be missed, however, there are other spas worthy of my business, regardless of it being holiday time or not. As a social worker, mental health is top priority for me, especially during the holiday time, and the service received on 12/31/2023 at The Retreat Spa was horrible.
