The most exciting new MICHELIN Guide hotels for November 2021

"The Poconos are finally having their Catskills-like resurgence. This is where the Rex comes in. With just ten units it’s a small and stylish boutique hotel, combining the charms of the country with the comforts city dwellers are used to." - Le Guide MICHELIN

We booked a long weekend in March. The room was well decorated, clean and fully stocked. My husband loved the coffee so much, he actually started ordering from them. The direct access to trails was really nice. Highly recommend Log Tavern Brewing down the road. Overall, it was a lovely weekend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the way! I truly enjoyed my stay at the Rex Hotel in Greentown, Pennsylvania. The design of the hotel is beautifully thought out, with a modern yet welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. Everything was spotless! The cleanliness throughout the property really stood out and added to the comfort of my stay. Having camped in Promised Land State Park for many years, this was my first time staying in a luxury cabin-like experience, and it was absolutely wonderful. I even sat by the the fire and soaked up the star littered sky. The property was quiet and peaceful, and the team was incredibly welcoming, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The Rex offers the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and style. I would gladly return!

We stayed here one night as a spontaneous extension of our honeymoon and I was very impressed with the accommodations. It is just as nice in person as it is in the photos. For just $160, we got a small room with everything we needed, but we spent most of our time outside at the fire pit since every room has its own complimentary "backyard". It's a lovely space to chat with a neighbor if you like, but many people also quietly kept to themselves and we all just enjoyed the peaceful evening. The bed was very comfortable with a nice mattress and a fluffy duvet cover. The bathroom is small, but the water was hot, and there was a rain shower head, which feels luxurious. Good water pressure. All in all, we had a fabulous time and I am so glad we booked it! Communication was also prompt and very kind. Our questions were answered right away and the hosts were great. Everything at the Rex is remotely run, so you get a sense of privacy to your stay that is similar to a self-check-in Airbnb. If you don't like bugs or the outdoors, this might not be for you. We didn't have any trouble, but since it's in the woods, don't be surprised if you encounter a mosquito or spider.

We rented The Rex for a one-night getaway and were not disappointed! The attention to detail and comfort is outstanding—from the heated bathroom floors to the incredibly comfortable beds. The diffuser added a lovely touch, and we absolutely loved the SMEG coffee maker! Well done, and thank you to everyone involved for a wonderful stay.

We really liked our stay, rooms are clean, amenities are satisfying, individual fire pit for each guest room with free logs & fire starters. The sauna is very nice. The place is chic & modern. Dog friendly, on site shop is cute too. A little bit noisy because of the road behind but not bad especially when you are inside. Only thing I would recommend to modify the path walking up to rooms, it’s difficult to walk (especially as a shorter person) and also hard to navigate luggage/suitcase on it.

I spent my 40th birthday at The Rex Hotel, and it was perfect! My family and I, including our furbabies, had a wonderful time. We stayed at the Hugh cabin suite and it was absolutely beautiful, perfectly designed, clean, and welcoming! The atmosphere was also peaceful and relaxing, exactly how I wanted to spend my birthday. We especially loved soaking in the hot tub, which was a highlight of our stay. Our toddler had a blast exploring the area and especially enjoyed playing cornhole game, which was one of the amenities offered by the hotel. The customer service was amazing as well! Everyone we talked to from the beginning to the end of our stay was kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We also truly appreciate that The Rex Hotel supports military members; it means a lot to families like ours. I’m so glad we chose The Rex for this special milestone! Thank you again, we’ll definitely come back again soon!

The Rex was better than expected. They were very accommodating as we changed our dates due to weather. The room was perfect with great amenities. Good coffee, comfy bed and pillows. Solo fire pit was great. Sauna was a super bonus! Had hiking right out our doorstep and good restaurants a short drive away. Perfect stay!

We rented The Rex (May 2025) for a special event and were not disappointed. Attention to detail and comfort are not missed here from heated bathroom floors to super comfortable beds and spacious cabins/suites; not to mention a lovely sauna and hot tubs (available in certain cabins). The staff was more than kind and helpful making sure our guests had everything they needed for a perfect weekend. I would recommend The Rex for a snuggly weekend away in our beautiful Poconos. Thanks everyone!

Yelp
On a day adventure outside of NYC, ending at The Rex was the best thing ever. Even though we only stood for a night, we enjoyed plenty. This micro hotel is located in the heart of the Poconos mountains, 2hrs from NYC. They are ten rooms to pick from. All are perfectly equipped with good appliances and chic modern furniture. We stood in The Hemlock room, perfect for a couple or young family. It's 350 sq ft. and has a kitchenette, king bed, living area, dining area, and a semi-private backyard. The bed felt like a cloud, and the eerie silence we experienced after turning off the TV was great for a good night's sleep. The sauna was excellent, and we had it all to ourselves, including the rest of the premises. The customer service is top-notch and prompt! It's self-check, and all questions are answered via text. Though we didn't hike, it was nice to enjoy the fire pit outside the woods, looking up at the stars. The peace and relaxation felt by being there smelling clean, fresh air is a good enough reason to book a stay. I would love to visit again during the fall. I am sure it'll be magical. Dog-friendly*

Yelp
Husband and I enjoyed our stay here for 3 days. Our unit was #7, which is only 175 sq feet but we made it work although this was part of a longer trip so we had a lot of stuff with us. Beautiful property with fire pits for each unit (approx 10) and just enough indoor cooking amenities. Could use a few more hooks around the room, but the space is well utilized. Sauna is now open and we also went on local hikes and did some horseback riding. Really enjoyed these modern cabins. The owners are really helpful and nice too.

Yelp
A beautiful gem in the Poconos gives you the outdoor action with the luxury of a beautiful hotel. The Rex Hotel has all the perks of camping but with the comfort of a sauna, personal smokeless fire pit, and state park trails right in your backyard! My wife and I knew we fell in love with the place within the first minutes of being there and immediately extended our stay. We went during the winter and it was absolutely gorgeous for the drive and stroll through the trails of Promised Land State Park. This wound up being one of our favorite vacations to unwind with nature, all our favorite snacks, and spending time together.

Yelp
10/10 LOVED OUR STAY! cozy, modern, immaculately clean, intimate getaway spot for my wife and I. So good that on the first night, we decided to extend our 3 night stay to 4 nights! Outdoor fire pit, fire wood (included) with seating and sectioned off private area. Most rooms are pet friendly, but we are not animal people so we're grateful that they offered a non pet friendly room. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AND WILL BE BACK!
