Google
Super cute and adorable place! There aren’t any food pics coz it was gone in 60 seconds!😀It was really good. Next time, we decided to order and eat there. So glad it’s closer to our house. It’s a hidden gem and an asset to ‘The Colony’ for sure!

Chris R.

Google
I always miss out on stopping in because they don't open until 3, but this has to be one of the most underrated and under visited spots in The Colony. Their bulgogi rice bowl is delicious. The food is always good. I will make an effort to visit more often. If they had kimbap... I would likely gain 50lbs.

Ajay S.

Google
Small but great Asian cuisine restaurant in The Colony. Not too far from Highway 121. When we arrived here on Saturday at around 4pm, there wasn't anyone but a very polite lady who runs this restaurant who explained everything and took our orders and also cooked the food since she was the only one there. We had the Spicy Squid Bowl and Spicy Chicken Bento Box and both were absolutely delicious. Loved the pot stickers in the bento box. Haven't had such a good bento box for a while now. Both the quality and the quantity were awesome. In fact the quantity was a lot! The ambience is also quite good and well kept/clean. We will be back soon to try other items in the menu. Highly recommended 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
The food was great and the service was super friendly! Looking forward to coming back and trying more... Lots of nostalgia to this location for me and happy to see friendly owners and service! Highly recommend! Update. I had not been here in quite a while, but just came back yesterday and have to say I really really enjoyed the food again and the service. Everything I ate was outstanding and flavorful!

Gerardo R.

Google
Amazing food! Great Customer Service. I’m going back for sure 🙂

Google
I got chicken bibimbap and my bf got chicken katsu. The sauce on the chicken katsu is too sweet, but it tastes great if you ask them to hold the sauce. If you do takeout, they automatically hold the sauce. I've tried bulgogi and chicken bibimbap and I prefer the chicken. My go to order here is chicken bibimbap. The lo mein is very salty and kind of sweet. The fried rice is also salty and sweet. I don't recommend either. The egg rolls and stuffed crab are average. Overall, great mom and pop shop. Their chicken bibimbap and chicken katsu are consistently good. Veggie pancake is good and big enough for a meal.

Brandyn R.

Google
Nice quaint place. Owners were very chill. Now to the food! The beef bimbimbap was off the charts! Spicy, tangy, sweet, savory, earthy all the things. Just all the things. The rice, beef, and egg were cooked to perfection. All the sides of cabbage, pickled cucumbers, pickled carrots, sprouts, and other nom noms made such a great dish. Happy I ate here tonight. What a nom nom nom!

Rich

Google
Love everything about this place. Cozy mom and pop feel that’s small and intimate. Ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap and it was so delicious. The bowl was made to order and beef itself was tender and well seasoned. I will definitely visit this place again when I’m in town.

Yelp
Normally I like to take pictures of the food before I eat it but on this I couldn't wait! Everything was very tasty and good portion sizes too! I will be sad to move away from this place!

Yelp
What a cute little mom-pop shop! My kids were craving Korean food so found this local place. The owner was so wonderfully sweet and kind. We chose all the right foods to eat including bulgogi, spicy pork and chicken bowls. In the mornings they serve donuts, breakfast sandwiches and burritos. Will definitely come back for more!
google avatar

Chris D.

Yelp
Perfect spicy pork bulgogi, flavorful, fresh, and completely satisfying. Just not spicy like at all. I'm all for not being scalded with pepper and spice but this was too much the other way. I sh old at least feel some heat. Normally I'd deduct a star. Completely still giving a full 5 stars because I truly enjoyed it. After tasting my takeout I ate in the parking lot.
google avatar

Colleen S.

Yelp
Quaint clean restaurant. We went in the afternoon. Food was perfect and very tasty. We will be back.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in The Colony. The owners are so hospitable and the food is great! Love their bibimbap!!
google avatar

Yelp
Immensely disappointed at this place. High hopes were shattered when I started to eat my takeout dinner. I had the tofu bowl with brown rice with side order of kimchi. The online ordering was easy to navigate. And the Korean lady was nice enough during my pickup experience. All went downhill when i took a bite of the pickled cucumber, which was RANCID - so disgusting that I spitted it out. I was so shocked that the restaurant would serve old & spoiled kimchi cucumber to the customer. Unethical to say the least. And did the health dept not catch this horrible practice?! Needless to say that I will never return again, the next time I visit The Colony from Las Vegas, NV. The tofu was mediocre, with soy sauce and sesame oil seasoning. Just so disappointed that I wasted my hard-earned money at this restaurant!!

Yelp
We love this place! The food is so delicious, the prices are good and the carry out is fast!

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant. Hands down. Food is amazing. I had leftover that i brang to school for lunch, and days later it smelled and tasted so good that my friends stole it from me and have been begging me to take them here. Service- Love, she's so kind i love them. Ambiance- the place is a vibe. if ur looking for The Best date spot, this is ur spot. it's never load or anything so u will be able to talk to the person or people your with. the seating is fun and compfy and the restaurant it's self is so asthetic. i come here to often but i only wish i cam more because i can never get enough!!!!! 158/5 stars
google avatar

Monalisa Z.

Yelp
The colony is a food desert, so it's understandable if this place received ratings so high. Outside looked like it's in the middle of nowhere. Galbi box - 4/5 we liked it. Not charred enough though. Teriyaki chicken 3/5 They put more veggies than chicken in this dish. Wasn't expecting they mixed chicken with veggie and stir fry this dish. Teriyaki normally just the chicken. Mandu 3/5 Standard tasting mandu Looking for paper napkins and didn't see it in the restaurant at all... owners were mostly in the back and only took orders

Sara G.

Yelp
The bulgogi and dumplings were ridiculously good. I can't wait to go back and try more of their menu!
google avatar

Tony S.

Yelp
Great local owned Korean restaurant. The pieces are reasonable and the food is great. I had a bulgogi bowl with some kimchi and it tasted great.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
We have been here for donuts and been completely amazed at the offerings. Perhaps we set our expectations too high when we decided to try dinner. I would say average at best and too expensive for what we got. Unfortunately we won't be going back. There were 4 of us so we each got something different. We tried the Bibimbap(beef), Lo Mein w/ chicken, chicken rice bowl and the ribs. Stick to the donuts!!!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
I just tried to order online and the first person who picked up the phone was nice but the second person was so rude! I wanted to order over the phone and she just said go online and order and hung up. Doesn't make me want to order at all.
google avatar

Dylan P.

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic Korean meal this place is the restaurant to go! The ambiance was so cute! The service was good, and the food was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
I love TWINKLE donuts and I've been really wanting to try Rice Bar at dinner time. Sadly I was a little disappointed. I was really excited about trying dishes, good prices and good variety- I ordered the egg rolls, they were ok, not exceptionally tasty or flavorful. I was really craving the crab rangoon after all the internet hype- wahh it was legit just a wonton with cream cheese- very sad. I didn't taste any hint of crab at all. The pork rice dish was flavorful but the pork tasted pretty porky and didn't absorb the flavor of the seasonings- not exciting. I'll stick with Twinkle donuts.

Shanda F.

Yelp
The service was great. She was a vibe. The ambiance was nice & clean. The food was good. Short Ribs were delicious. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls was sweet & spicy...

Shirley S.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the food. It is a quick service restaurant so don't expect too much. Overall enjoyed my experience. I got the Galbi.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the chicken bibimbap and my bf got the chicken katsudon. I liked the chicken bibimbap. Juicy chicken, and lots of veggies.

Yelp
If you're looking for korean bento, look no further, this korean kitchen serves it up delicious and just the right amount of everything. We ordered using the takeout feature right here on yelp right before we headed out the door and everything was bundled up and ready for pick up when we got there. Lemme tell ya, get the pop pop chicken! Korean style chicken nuggets with an amazing dipping sauce. Comes on a bed of rice and salad. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken which also came with salad and rice! The hubs got spicy pork.. didn't hear a peep outta him and it was gone in a flash, I didn't even get a chance to try it! Well, gives me another excuse to come back and order again. Tip: In the morning, you can come here for donuts!
google avatar

Tamya W.

Yelp
Donuts are amazing, we go all the time! Go early before they run out. Not a fan of their beef bulgogi, not much flavor but their beef noodles are great
google avatar

Riberani W.

Yelp
Delicious food! The rice was bit dry but still delicious! The service was quick and the place inside is super nice modern looking clean! The price was very good for what I got! The chicken was fried and crunchy good!
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here randomly and was not disappointed! The food was amazing. We got the chicken lo mein (best lo mein I've ever had!), spicy chicken, and loaded tots with bulgogi. The owners are super friendly and their service is great! The inside of the restaurant has a cute / old diner like look which has a nice ambiance too!
google avatar

Gabriella S.

Yelp
We have gone as a party of 7 (3 adults - 4 kids) food is delicious. My fave is the Japchae and the kimchi fried rice. My kids enjoy the food as well. They offer donuts and coffee in the morning, although the service can be a little slow through the drive thru, so be prepared to wait a bit even if just ordering a coffee. I had to sit and wait for about 8 mins before I was acknowledged. Convenient location and prices aren't terrible. We have visited a few times.
google avatar

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I love noodles & definitely need protein in most, if not all meals. I don't really care for beef, unless it's BBQ or Steak, but their menu only had Japchae with Beef. Called the shop and the sweetest Korean lady, sounds like she could be your grandma, was so kind and willing to make it with Chicken. She asked for my name & told me to submit online the order and she would remember me. How sweet! My friends and I did a family style takeout of our order. The katsu chicken was great, especially with the peanut like sauce mixture. Such good japchae and lots of it! Mandoo was also great- I would have wanted more of the sauce that was given but definitely would get again. This isn't a knock on the restaurant, but I think any time one gets bibimbap, it's best eaten fresh and hot. So this dish was okay but I definitely want to try it the next time I eat in person. They also have a donut bar!! Did not partake in that but will next time for sure.
google avatar

Kate G.

Yelp
Very cute local spot that's worth checking out! We shared a katsu chicken and dumplings, both very good but I would have liked twice as much of the side salad or another veggie option in the entree. The flavor was delicious for everything on our plates. More importantly, we were warmly greeted and graciously thanked for coming by. We're looking forward to coming back for breakfast SOON

Brian S.

Yelp
Mind blown! The food was amazing, my fiancée and I visited this establishment at closing. We ordered the braised short-ribs and the chicken and shrimp fried rice. I have never in my 39 years of life had better fried rice!!! It was incredible and the braised short ribs are among the best I've ever had. True hidden gem, please check this place out you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Saw the reviews on Yelp and was expecting a lot. Had to say it was just ok... Ambiance: nice and clean. Food: I was expecting more of a make your own bowl thing but it was basically just go up and order from the set menu. No real customizations. We also didn't really get any banchan / sides other than a pretty weak salad and pickled cucumbers. The other reviews made it seem like there was more... = Kalbi - tasted good but not mind blowing. I actually even had a bad piece with a bone chip in it that I didn't notice until I was chewing. - Katsu chicken - got this as the waitress recommended it. Honestly was dry and kinda bland. Was crispy though just not memorable and no real gravy on it and minimal sauce. I ordered a jap chae substitution but it ended up just being half that and half rice. + Boston cream donut - this was the highlight. Perfect donuts. Overall, I guess The Colony has limited options for Korean food because this was pretty limited and not all that impressive in my opinion. Burning Rice is still better to me for a quick Korean food fix. I'd come here for the donuts though!
google avatar

Cortney K.

Yelp
We used to love The Rice Bar. I'm not sure if it's because they started selling donuts as their primary thing, but it is not the same. We used to go and the woman was super helpful, now she is more on the rude side. We used to get chicken fried rice and she would always give us "fruit sauce". Now when we go she charges, which whatever but sometimes she charges and sometimes she doesn't, sometimes it's one price other times it another - which just doesn't sit well. Prices should be clearly posted. If you push back she will give it to you, which just seems like a scam. Without the extra sauce there is very little flavor. When asked how much chicken is in the entree she told us to make our own at home if we don't like how much she uses - so rude. I guess that's exactly what we will do. We won't be going back which is sad.
google avatar

Moussa K.

Yelp
I've been going to this place since I moved here 5 years ago and they were just getting going. My review has to do with asking two questions and the owner telling me to make it myself then if i don't like it. I ignored the rude comments and asked for fruit sauce which she says she has to charge me for. I ask oh when did that start. Again she says, "make it yourself if you don't like," like man is this really what we're doing???? On another note the food was meh at best this time. The 2/3 cups of rice to one chicken thigh was an issue for me and the chicken lacked flavor as if everything was cooked separately. With half a cup of fruit sauce it just couldn't save the lackluster dish. The experience was enough for me to decide i will never return to the business that was once operated by nice, caring owners who made sure to go the extra mile for your convenience.
google avatar

Phil B.

Yelp
What an awesome hole-in-the-wall restaurant with an incredibly delicious menu with quick service. Food is fresh and healthy here. The bibimbap is excellent and they also have fresh-made fancy donuts here. One of my favorites in the neighborhood where I don't feel guilty for indulging (except for the donuts lol) and highly recommended!
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
First time checking this place out, really loved it. The owner was so sweet and the place was too cute. My husband got the Kalbi ribs, he enjoyed it as well as my son who took his last bite I got the spicy pork which was great as well. We really loved this place.
google avatar

Swarnima S.

Yelp
I recently ordered a take out and the food was delicious. The place is extremely clean & beautiful. The food was great and very flavorful. The owner was very sweet and took the time to explain the flavors to me. Coming back here soon !
google avatar

Robert E.

Yelp
Donuts are great but don't sleep on their dinner. Along with their tasty donuts (which I highly recommend) they provide a wide array of different Korean dishes. I enjoyed their spicy pork rice bowl with a side of crab cream cheese rangoons. Not to mention the service is excellent and fast. The Rice Bar is a local treasure in the making!
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
Outstanding! The owner greeted me when I walked in the door and was excited to help me out. My teriyaki chicken was made fresh and the portion was amazing value. Cute decor and so much good energy at this restaurant. What a joy to see this small business thriving.
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
A gorgeous oasis! We came for dinner after shopping at a packed furniture store and the atmosphere was so calming and relaxing. Soft jazz played over the quiet sounds of cooking in the background. There were plants everywhere, topping off the beautiful environment. We got the chicken bowl, the katsu chicken bowl, and dumplings. The food was hot, fast, and fresh. The dumplings were fried perfectly crisp and light. And the absolute star of the show was the katsu chicken! The sauce on it was tangy with some spice on the crisp chicken and melted in your mouth. The prices were very very reasonable, I would have even paid more! An absolute must see, beautiful restaurant with delicious food!
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
Cute little place. Love the ambiance and decor on the inside. Looks really random outside. There's even a drive thru window. It's a donut place plus a Korean restaurant. Both were delicious. It's not the choose your own protein and sides kind of place anymore. Not sure if that's bc of covid or Change up in menu. Anyways- all the food is really good- chicken bowl, chicken bento, beef kalbi, spicy pork bowl. Japchae was super good. The donuts were really good too- creme brûlée, old fashioned, cronut, pink sprinkles. Service is what put it up on the top! Really nice lady!
google avatar

Kendra E.

Yelp
We were passing through and stopped by because of the great reviews. Helen, the owner, is incredibly kind and helpful. We had the beef bibimbap, chicken &shrimp fried, rice, Japchae with beef, and chicken mandoo. All delicious, flavorful and filling. In the morning, it has a different specialty, donuts (which look delicious). We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden gem in The Colony! Authentic Korean bimbimbap and japchae noodles. The place is so clean and masks are a must. The staff was very friendly they even gave us a free !! THANK YOu! My new go-to Korean place ... no need to go all the way to Carrollton

Erick W.

Yelp
I've been going here since for like the last 8 years the lady who is normally at the register is super sweet. This place had my heart. Food is so good service good and the ambiance is good.
google avatar

Bryan K.

Yelp
On our way to Hawaii Falls- & was looking for sometime light. This was FANTASTIC!!! Best chicken/shrimp fried rice I've ever had! Great prices too!
google avatar

Nevin R.

Yelp
I ordered their chicken noodle soup when I was feeling under the weather and I swear it had healing powers it was so good.

Shanna M.

Yelp
So. Good. Dinner. Donuts. Oak cliff coffee. So glad we found this place! Close to home too. Can't wait for the kiddos to get older so we can have weekly breakfast visits at Twinkle and then Dinner at Rice Bar!
google avatar

Gloria C.

Yelp
Came here for a weekend lunch. There was no one there and there aren't any adjacent businesses. I started getting worried that I was steered in the wrong direction. It was very clean inside and pretty modern for a mom and pop type of Korean restaurant. It's almost like a Korean Chipotle, but not quite. You pick your carb being white rice, brown rice, or Japchae noodles. You then choose your protein, which is where the varies. I chose the Bulgolgi and my husband chose the pork belly (which was very flavorful by the way) Then you pick 5 side dishes, which are like your normal Korean side dishes. You self serve in regards to water and utensils and you pick out your own seat after paying. The owner Helen was very sweet and attentive to your needs. And your side dishes aren't limited to the ones on the left side, you can also pick the ones on the right as well. I liked the veggie pancake, the fish cake, and there's 3 types of kimchi. It was a very spacious area, enough for you to place your baby carrier on the floor beside you. They give you a LOT of protein, so I felt like it was worth the price that I paid for. Various prices go from $8-$11. I'll come back if I'm in the area. Hopefully other Yelpers can help this place out and spread the word so we can help more restaurant awareness about this place.

Lorrie E.

Yelp
My first Korean dinner in USA. Beef bulgogi with rice. It was so amazing. The beef was moist I didn't use a knife. The sauce was so good. I decided to eat Korean while watching my favorite Korean dramas. It was great! It was affordable and they had it ready in 10 minutes. It was great. Everyone should flood this place. So close to Grandscape.

Aarnes S.

Yelp
Delicious food that you can taste the love and care in! We love family owned/run restaurants! It's a regular go to for us! Always fantastic!
google avatar

Venera F.

Yelp
Definitely the Best Korean in The Colony. If you are considering Burning Rice or the other spot off 121...I would suggest the few extra miles to The Rice Bar. Local eatery with great people. I get the spicy pork which never disappoints. My daughter prefers the bul go gi which is good for kids. It is a hidden gem in The Colony. Still my favorite spot in The Colony for Korean food. The owner is so friendly and the food is fresh. They have changed their method of sales to accommodate their clientele. You order meals now with a Korean salad included. So they have also started making donuts. Mmmmmmm so so good. Run don't walk to this little gem or call door dash or grub hub. They make everything fresh.
google avatar

Summer B.

Yelp
We showed up around noon for donuts and kolaches and there was still a good selection left. Very delicious and fresh! Found a small hair on the donut, but it happens. We also tried the lunch beef bugolgi, it was pretty good. I'm curious if the dinner bowls are better. I really loved the decor and ambiance on the inside and I love supporting small local businesses. Check it out for yourself

Joshua S.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance are all on point! This place is amazing and one of my new go-to favorite spots. Highly recommend.

Cici R.

Yelp
Absolutely the sweetest people here! Stopped by to pickup takeout pretty late but they were still warm and kind with lovely conversation. Got the kalbi and tofu bowls and were delish, hit the spot for a day that got too busy and realized we didn't eat dinner until late. Also shoutout to the donuts! We got a few and couldn't finish them for dinner so saved a few for breakfast and they were still delicious.
