The Best Portland, Oregon Bar Patios | Eater Portland

"The Richmond Bar’s intimate patio centered around a single, circular fire pit makes this spot one of the best rainy season venues in stereotypically introverted Portland to meet new pals — what more timeless setting to make conversation than huddled around a warm fire? (For those out with existing friends or dates, heat lamps are happily available at other tables). Creative house cocktails and draft beers are supplemented by a healthy whiskey list. The small but hearty menu of pub fare is highlighted by poutine and hand pies, filled with your choice of boar or butternut squash." - Nathan Williams

Portland’s Best Restaurants and Bars for First Dates | Eater Portland

"This down-to-earth Division bar is the ideal setting for a casual date. Richmond boasts a variety of aptly named cocktails, as well as a beer and wine menu; hungrier dates can share things like shoestring fries and charcuterie boards. Prefer outdoor seating? Raise a Toast to Bartenders With Tequila Cocktails at These Portland Bars | Eater

"A solid bet on Division, the woody and wallpapered Richmond Bar has pre-prohibition vibes, but the drink list is thoroughly modern and sometimes unexpected. Visitors who gravitate toward herbal concoctions will love the Field Trip, a blend of reposado tequila, a locally made alpine liqueur, strawberry, mint syrup, and lime. The Violet Beauregarde is brighter and more citrusy, combining tequila, blueberry-lemon verbena shrub, and more lemon." - Vox Creative

Google
Mac and cheese were AMAZING!! Lamb meatballs sub was pretty good. It also came with fries and pickled bell peppers, which were incredible! Their back patio looks very cozy. Next time we’ll be seating in the back in front of that warm fire :)

Google
Richmond is one of my favorite bars for so many reasons. Location is excellent, a patio unrivaled, and some amazing cocktails. Also can’t stress enough how friendly, caring, and stylish the whole staff is too! You can go here for a date or for a solo drink and you’ll be nothing but impressed. Check it out!

Michele Marlene Swisher

Google
The best mac and cheese I have ever had!! And my drink is amazing! A custom raspberry something.

Google
Should have known not to come here due to the other reviews about the service here. And it not being very busy. I felt 2 ft tall ordering a drink as it wasn’t good enough , trying to surprise a friend with something special. the whole situation was uncomfortable. The regulars were laughing at me as i was trying to decide. And the bartender suggested I go elsewhere. So I just left the bar & went back to my table. Told my friends the situation. They all proceeded to tell me they understood as all the bartenders were coming off rude . Then the bartender came over and proceeded to come off very hostile and aggressive. As if he wanted to fight me ? I’ve never experienced something like this before. Having also worked in fine dining & upscale bars. Short guy, horrible hair , even worse customer service. I don’t recommend if you aren’t a regular. It was very clear we weren’t welcomed.

Google
Terrible customer service from a mostly socially inept bar staff. Just a customer service tip for the staff here: You should really treat the customer like they are a guest in your house (ie: be gracious and slightly deferential), not like the customer is a burden or an imposition on your time. We were just made to feel unnecessarily unwelcome from the moment we walked in the door by a pair of grumpy mumbling bar tenders. Then one of the servers argued with us about a late order, instead of apologizing and gracefully correcting the situation. The job of a server is to de-escalate, not escalate any conflict with a customer. This is just customer service 101. Not that the customer is always right, but that they are a guest in your establishment and need to be treated as such. Who wants to get in an argument with their server? It's upsetting for everybody involved. I guess to sum it up: Graceless and socially inept service. It seems to be a pattern here. BTW, the fries were overcooked and slightly terrible but the vegetarian hand pie was delicious and a good value. Drinks were weak. If you must go here order a beer so you know what you're getting. Keep your expectations low so you won't be disappointed.

Google
Burgers were okay; fries were excellent, but it was difficult to get ketchup. Steph, when we were there, were surly and acted bothered by pretty much every request. The patio is okay, but the interior space is dark and not air-conditioned; both were pretty loud even for a bar.

Shasta Wilson

Google
Very rude bartender. Was slamming things, yelled at customers for not knowing there was another bathroom, and spoke to multiple customers as if she was paid to treat people like trash. This was an unfortunate experience because kitchen staff were kind and food was good.

Michael DeGraw

Google
Mac is 100. The rest of the menu looks really good... — service was friendly and the staff was good about cleaning up back patio tables quickly. Nice patio and also, Non-Smoking. They do have tables out front to sit and smoke if that’s your thing tho. Looking forward to visiting again to try the Garlic Burger!

Yelp
This is the quintessential neighborhood bar. The food is great and the atmosphere is simple. You won't find TV's every 5 feet surrounding the bar which I do not care for. Everything is made in house and very fresh. I have a place down the street and my choice on Division for a bar will always be Richard's.

Yelp
I have never been treated so poorly by a bartender in my entire life. Whoever the femme bartender was that was working on 6/21 was incredibly rude to my friends and me. Our drinks were rang up incorrectly and she became incredibly confrontational, demanding to know why that should "be her problem". She also made racist remarks about my friends that I would rather not repeat. The rest of the bar is great but I would rather not return if she is still there. It would have made our whole experience better if not for this one bartender.

Yelp
On a lark we thought we'd try the Richmond. We got a table outside and ordered a beer. Very tasty IPA. Off to a good start. We ordered fries for the table. They were generous and cut on the thin side and crispy. You can't go wrong with a good fry! One of the group ordered their hamburger - so delish! My husband had the meat hand pie and reported it to be satisfying and really good. My son had the lamb meatball sandwich and it was so good he would not share. The reason for the three instead of four stars is that they will not add a protein to a salad. Who doesn't do that?! I had the House salad. As a salad, it was ok. Nothing to write home about. I guess you have to like sandwiches or hand pies to go there. Common guys at the Richmond, offer some protein sides!

Yelp
Long time burger eater, first time visitor. Look at this thing!!! Good as it looks, crispy fries and Portland ketchup... great little chips and I even scarfed the pickled bits. Some tomato thing at the bottom of this perfect burger that gave a balanced tang but not sloppy. Perfect hand food... I'd eat one daily I think. Good people, good mule to wash it down... outstanding place!

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Service wasn't super friendly and the food was pretty Meh. Probably wouldn't come back

Karnell M.

Yelp
The Richmond Bar is a great local vibe. They have a wonderful patio that is heated during the winter. We enjoyed the patio on a Summer evening. We ordered cocktails and they were delicious. Certainly will add these to my PDX guide.

Yelp
Tl;dr: Come here to eat and drink. That's it. That's all the information you need from this review. DO IT. I have friends/family in every area of the restaurant industry and therefore hold their opinions on restaurants/bars very high. I ask them where I should eat and drink and they usually give me a whole thing on "well it depends on..." blah blah. One day I let them choose dinner and we decided to try a place that was new for all of us. It was okay, but the lingering question of the night was: where are we going to go afterwards? Unanimously, the answer was their favorite go-to bar with great drinks and great snacks (since we were still hungry): The Richmond Bar. It was a relatively busy Friday night, so we had to wait for a little when we first walked in. Someone came around while we were in line and assigned us seats. There were seats open in the front but luckily we were able to get a seat in the back patio which is a very intimate area and perfect for ending the night with conversation. When we got to the bar to order we knew that we wanted fries, and we knew that we wanted great drinks. My cousin trained with one of the bartenders here, Peter (the best bartender on Division), so it was a given that I would ask him for a drink because everything he makes is great. While Peter got to making our drinks, we also ordered a side of fries AND a side of poutine. Why both? Because we were hungry!!! The drinks we got were great! Do yourself a favor and have Peter make you a drink-- whether it be from the menu, or a drink of his own making. The fries were shoestring so already that's a win in my book, and the poutine was *chef's kiss*. The gravy was perfect in flavor and came with large pieces of browned meat so you know that they are making their gravy from scratch. Throw that on some shoestring fries and cheese curds? Heaven. Shoutout to the Canadians for this dish. We closed the place down and made sure to tip well. These people know how to do it right.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. We had the burger and the lamb sub. We sat on the patio and it was super great! Food, drinks and atmosphere were a wonderful experience! Lived in neighborhood for five years and loved discovering this new to us little gem
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome spot to chill and have great food. HIGHLY recommend you stop by for a cocktail and some snacks.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice beer, cocktails. Great patio with heaters and love love love the poutine. We liked it so much we came back twice the week we visited.

Grace O.

Yelp
Very nice back patio area and a great casual place to grab a drink and a bite. We were just in town for the day and I had researched the best mac and cheese in Portland and this place showed up on a few of the lists I saw. I was not disappointed one bit, the mac and cheese is creamy and delicious and the onions add great flavor! Definitely hit the spot. We also got an order of fries which were good too and so were the cocktails. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I wanted to cool off before writing this review to make sure I wasn't overly emotional, but weeks later I am still shaken by the way I was treated by the server/bartender. We ended up walking out mid meal and I lost my appetite. I won't go into the petty details of what happened...let me just say that this guy was so condescending and rude. I also watched him get into an angry spat with another costumer. I will not be back here again.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Okay. So I get it. This is Portland and you expect to get a little bit of "I'm too cool" attitudes. I guess it's part of the experience? I tried to ask the bartender what the best cocktails were. You know? Just wanted the pro tips. And he rolled his eyes and pushed the cocktail menu towards me. Okay man. I get it. I know I'm a tourist but I want the best of every establishment me visit! That's why I asked! He didn't want to help me though. Fine. I ordered the first beer on the list instead. My husband and I also shared the burger on the menu. It wasn't too bad, my husbands first words were "tastes like a sloppy joe" I liked it though, that's what matters! The environment was dark, trendy, and "poppin" lots of people there on a Friday night. I think I'll choose a different bar next time, hopefully one with more pleasant service. But I wasn't too offended, I just wanted a damn good cocktail.
google avatar

Stephanie V.

Yelp
This is a great place to stop and grab a cocktail! It's quaint and romantic and seems like a really great neighborhood bar. One of the things I loved about Portland was evident with this bar in that they didn't care if you were a tourist, they seemed genuinely interested in you! We only had drinks but they were great! Pro-tip: very walkable area. This could be a place to start or end an evening.

The F.

Yelp
Awesome local bar. Friendly staff. great drinks. Highly recommend after the experience at the douchy brewery down the street! It made me miss my bars back in Austin Texas! Thank you Richmond staff!
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
I've given a fair amount of yelp reviews, and I almost never give 3 stars or lower. This place has decent food and drinks, that's why I didn't rate it lower. The service is the problem. I get it. We're 40. We brought our (well behaved) 9 and 11 year old children with us. We're not hipster-cool. But seriously?? The woman who brought us our food was borderline rude the whole stay. AND THEN... as we were leaving I heard her say "26 minutes, y'all." It just so happens that it was 8:34... 26 minutes before kids aren't allowed in. Based on the rest of the evening- I'm certain that is exactly what she meant by her comment. So bottom line- unless you are 24, COOL AF, and don't care about how people are treated, I would choose a different spot. Just my two cents.

Yelp
Not sure why I haven't stopped by here after visiting this part of Division often in years past. Such a solid bar. The decor upon entry was inviting. Has a modern/antique vibe to it. The bar is manned by two bartenders (at least when the lady I visited) and the cocktails they put out are great. I had their boulevardier and it was delicious. The lady got a whiskey sour and they go the extra "shake" for that "spot" on taste. It was one of the better sours that I've tasted. We went round for 2 while there but I opted for a sazerac this time just to try out their version. It was solid as well. Definitely a nice bar and the bartenders are nice. Will come back in the future or when I'm in the area.

Yelp
Went here last night for a casual valentines day with my Fiance and we were pleasantly surprised! We walked in and the place was dark-lit with slightly loud music, which is kind of our scene, and the bartender was friendly and informative about the beers and whiskeys I was interested in (both bartenders were great actually). I got the beer and whiskey combo which was the "Big Winter" and Four Roses Single Barrel, I am glad I only got 5 oz of the beer because it was tasty but super rich.. the combo was a great measurement of each. As for the food, we got the Mac N Cheese, Chop Salad, and Tapenade. All 3 were great! The salad was definitely our favorite as the sliced meats and egg were great quality, and the Mac N Cheese was made with a really good sharper white cheddar that made it super flavorful. The tapenade was pretty simple and basic but if you like olives you'll enjoy it! Overall this was a great experience and I am sure we will be back from time to time.

Yelp
I just straight-up like this place. I made Matchstick (the bar it was before The Richmond) my go-to spot when I lived here before. The cool vibe has remained, the staff friendly, the food stuffs delicious, and the patrons friendly and engaging. Probably the only thing that keeps me from giving this place a 5er is the lack of wine options. Plus, when I got there and asked for the sauv blanc, they didn't have any left. And only had two glasses of Chardonnay (not my fav.) Maybe the patrons aren't into wine, but this girl sure is... and while they do have nice beer and cocktail selections, this girl needs the vino. ;)
google avatar

Billy P.

Yelp
Low key, casual vibe with great cocktails, good peeps and great value. Stumbled upon this spot while waiting for a table at Pok Pok across the street. After our first visit, we returned 2 more times. One drink in particular played a big role in our return, the Sneaky Pete, with bourbon, scotch, bitters and their cranberry-cinnamon syrup. Chill indoor seating and a clean and comfortable outdoor patio with a fire pit.
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Great Atmosphere! The patio was lovely! It was actually such a romantic little bar! We only ordered drinks since we were waiting for our table at Pok Pok, but the drinks were delicious! The sangria was part of the happy hour, and it tasted super yummy! It was fruity and light but made me tipsy!!! Many people were ordering burgers so I guess they have yummy burgers!!!! There was no wait which was amazing too!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
So glad we found this hidden gem. They have a great outdoor patio area that is covered in case of colder weather. The drinks here are spot on and the poutine was amazing. We saw a lot of other customers' food come out and it looked great as well. Great staff and very welcoming.

Joe G.

Yelp
Came here to grab a quick drink. The bartender was friendly and quick at making our beverages. I tried the pandan cocktail, which was pretty decent. Saw there was food, so we tried the poutine. Unfortunately, I would not recommend it. If you want specialty cocktails, come here! They have outdoor seating too.
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
I like this little bar more than just a little. And honestly, it's not as little as it once was, now that there's an awesome patio out back. I've been here a couple of times now, and enjoy everything from the chill ambiance to the plentiful outdoor seating to the tasty drinks to the solid service. I've only really focused on the cocktails here, and they're good. The Strong Waters is my jam - a brown, bitter and stirred number that goes down like a version of a Manhattan. The couple of other drinks I've tried are tasty too. And they have some beers, some wines, etc. Also food. Bar food. It looks tasty. An easy choice for pre- or post- dinner drinking in the area.
google avatar

George T.

Yelp
Was visiting Portland and went out to Pok Pok for food. The wait was an hour so went across the street to The Richland Bar. What a great decision. It's small and dark. The bartender was super friendly and talked making drinks with us. He made one of the best whiskey sours I've had. So I had another. I'll be back.
google avatar

Todd G.

Yelp
I just moved in about a block from here and so far this is my favorite local spot to get a drink. Nothing fancy, pretty low key...what you want in a local. It's not trying very hard, which is awesome. Good drinks, good food. When the plague is over I'll be here a lot more.
google avatar

Patrick M.

Yelp
Great little spot for a casual date or conversation. Great beer draft list and lots of upscale space both inside and on their outdoor heated patio. I wish the menu had more veggie/vegan options - especially for the neighborhood - but plenty of good drinks and bites to be had!
google avatar

Nai S.

Yelp
Food was so good! Came to the bar for some fun; came out with some happy stomachs. The mac and cheese was bomb! They use caramelized onions and white cheddar. Poutine was really good also: very rich and plenty of meat chunks. Cheese curds was a little cold, but that's cause we dug in right away. Still everything was delicious.
google avatar

Melissa S.

Yelp
This reminds me of old Seattle when it was local, cool and created its reputation but..so much better. Urban hip without Pretentiousness. Friendly & welcoming staff to a pair of older kooks exploring the neighborhood. Great food & drinks. An outdoor Oasis to revive yourself from a long day. Music is sublime..
google avatar

Gaby B.

Yelp
Cute little bar /restaurant that is open late and serves amazing food. Stopped in at around 1 am hungry AF. Ordered a beer, some fries and a meat pie (which only ran me about 12$ pre tip.. score). The beer was cold , and the fries.. well it was more of a mountain of fries, were hot & crispy, and you could tell they were fresh. The meat pie was also huge and full of flavor. They make their own ketchup and a spicy horseradish sauce. I left with a full tummy ready to pass out. Perfect way to end my Portland eating spree.
google avatar

Taylor S.

Yelp
I just love this place -- it's perfect for when I want to take my girl out for an intimate/romantic drink + snack before we head out for the night. The bartenders here are true professionals. They're fast and every single cocktail they've made me has always been delicious. The interior is romantic and I always enjoy whatever music they are playing. Their back patio is perfect for Portland with shade for the summer and a fire pit for the winter. I know people come here while they wait for a table at Pok Pok, but I come here when I need a properly made whiskey sour (with egg white and everything). Pro Tip: - Get food here. It's all really good but my favorite is the veggie hand pie.
google avatar

Traci O.

Yelp
I would give this seriously lame bar 0 stars if I could. I'm a middle aged well dressed woman, came in, sat down and according to my watch I sat for 14 minutes while the bartender chatted up the only other person at the bar. Again...14 minutes. Not a: Hey, how's it going? Or Take a seat or Be with you in a minute. So, I took myself and the 8 girlfriends I was meeting next door and they PROMPTLY sat us, gave us water and drinks were at the table in less than 5 minutes. That whole "imma ignore you cuz we are too cool to acknowledge your existence" thing went out in 2014. As evidenced by the 2 people you had in your bar at happy hour on a Saturday night. There are just too many great restaurants to deal with your BS. Hard hard pass, let's put them out of business, don't want them or their rude attitude in my neighborhood!

John P.

Yelp
Worst. Service. Ever. My girlfriend and I stopped by the Richmond Bar for two rounds of drinks yesterday. After finishing our first round, I bring the empties to the bar and attempt to order a second round, but the bartender takes the glasses and proceeds to turn her back on me to start a new conversation with the other bartender, completely ignoring my order in the process. A couple minutes later when she finally acknowledges me, I'm greeted coldly and as though she's never seen me before. I order the second round and ask to close out my tab, to which she pours the drinks and promptly disappears into the kitchen (all while pointedly not closing my tab). When it's clear that she's not coming back, the other bartender eventually stops cleaning the bar to close out my tab. I've never seen such a ridiculous display of unwarranted passive aggression from people in the hospitality industry and suffice it to say I won't be going back any time soon. Judging from some of the other negative comments here, I won't be the only one.
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
A friend and I were looking for a new cocktail bar to go to and I stumbled across this place while searching on Yelp. It's small and low key. They don't have loud pop music blaring like most places. They do have one tv! The cocktails were delicious and classic. Service was great, we always had drinks in front of us.
google avatar

Melissa F.

Yelp
Nice watering hole to wet your whistle. Basic prices are affordable. I'd come back to hang out. There isn't really a "vibe" to this place. It's just a great place to catch up with some friends, and or have a beer while you do some work or read a book.
google avatar

Gail L.

Yelp
Popped for a drink, expecting to pass 60 minutes for a Pok Pok table. This place is fantastic! The banquette seating, leather button upholstery, reminded me of my grandfather's old bar. So, nostalgia points, off the bat. The back patio seating was spacious, breezy, comfortable. So much. Enter than cramming into Pok Pok. And the food!!! Not an extensive selection, but what we had was fantastic: Richmond Chopped Salad, Lamb Meatball Sub, Fries. All were delicious. Two kolsch beers finished off a fantastic date night. Thank you, Richmond Bar. You're our new 'go to' on Division.
google avatar

Steven L.

Yelp
Good fries and excellent service. I love the outdoor smoking area. This place is always busy

Yelp
I did not find this place friendly to queer folk. I am a cis woman and was promptly handed a menu by the bartender and asked for my order. My friends who is queer presenting was not offered a menu and was not addressed by the two bartenders. There were only the two of us waiting to be served, so logically they should have offered my friend a menu etc, especially after I completed my order. Instead they went back to whatever bar tasks. I interrupted and asked them whether they were going to serve my friend and they suggested my friend needed to come up and address them to order. We did that but I'm not employed there and shouldn't need to facilitate. I drank the Richmond toddy which was pretty medium. I hate it when bars pretend to be all crafty and foody but then have that stank culture.
google avatar

Herumi B.

Yelp
If you're looking for a lowkey, very relaxed atmosphere than look no farther. I thoroughly enjoyed the Richmond Bar because the drinks were awesome, the bartenders were really nice and the atmosphere was great! I loved the outdoor patio and fire pit! My favorite cocktail was the Sneaky Pete. It had this cinnamon taste that was reminiscent of apple pie. So incredibly delicious! TIP: This is a wonderful bar to hang out if you're waiting for your name to be called at Pok Pok across the street.
google avatar

Rosh E.

Yelp
Location: Right next to a thai restaurant, a sex shop, and pok pok the best thai restaurant in the U.S. (lol) Customer Service: Walked right in straight to the bar and the bartendar didn't ignore us despite the busy atmosphere. Warm welcoming and ready to make our drinks. Decor: At night it was very dim inside but the ambiance they have is a more intimate sociable setting which is nice. They also have outdoor seatting (picnic table style seating) Presentation of Food: -drinks How did the food taste?: We just got a brews and I got a bourboun cocktail which was quite tasty actually. Overall Experience: If they had something like this in the bay area I wouldn't mind going to grab drinks and eat small dinners here. It has a good vibe to it! Would I Come Back?: When in Portland and waiting for my name to be called at Pok Pok this is the go to place to drink and wait!
google avatar

Andrew E.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a drink and sit out on the back patio with a fire. Inside is nice dim and cozy too.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Besides it being extremely dark inside, it was a pretty cool little joint. My friends ordered salads; the classic wedge (with ranch instead of bleu cheese) and the London Carpachio. I just got a beer that was on special. It wasn't crowded, but I can see that it could become so on a weekend night. Regardless, the service was good and we enjoyed our time here. This place is pretty non-descript, but there's something very cool about it. I'm just thrilled that my neighborhood has been revamped and places like this have popped up. Friends from Beaverton now drive to my side of town to check out places like the Richmond Bar because they're sick of chains.
google avatar

Brittany Q.

Yelp
Everything about this bar is decent. But heads up if you try to lean on the healthy end of the spectrum: the mac and cheese was overloaded with fat and grease. I know, I know - it's a bar and I should know what I'm getting myself into, but it was just too much. I put most of it in a to-go container and eat the rest at home. The excess fat and grease ruined my sink! Definitely sticking to my healthier options next time.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
The Richmond Bar replaces the Matchbox. They graciously hosted a Portland Cocktail Festival event. Richmond is there with upgraded but reasonably priced food and a well curated regional tap list + one from Germany. Richmond has a full bar and a great individualistic craft cocktail list. Although the odd front door is still there, imagining Spain, the inside is clean and comfortable. Several picnic tables outside on Division and 32nd. Richmond is a great authentic neighborhood hangout!
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
I love this place! It was the perfect spot for cocktails, food, patio lounging and being right in the action when you step outside the front door. I found this place on Yelp while staying in Portland and wanted to check out this neighborhood. I loved my Paloma cocktail and shared the lamb meatball sandwich with a side of fries. The outdoor patio is charming with lights and comfortable seating. Inside is also very cozy and would be perfect on a chilly evening. They have a few seats in front of the bar outside and there you can do some pretty great people watching. The bartenders were very knowledgeable about their spirits and cocktails. You have to order everything at the bar before you sit down but they move quick so even if there is a line, they hustle and get you taken care of. If I lived in this city, this would be my go-to date spot and where I would take my friends to show off how cool the neighborhood is. Places like this make me want to yell from the rooftops, "I LOVE PORTLAND!"

Yelp
Man I just didn't expect this place to be as cool as it is. They have a patio - which in my mind means it's going to be packed with smokers and cold. There is NO SMOKING on the patio - which was a HUGE relief. We ordered our food and drinks at the bar - food comes delivered to your table. I had the salt cod fritters, and some fries which were all good. Drinks were tasty. It's funny because inside was mostly empty, but the outside patio was bustling - and had a giant fire pit so nobody froze. I'll be back.

Yelp
Stopped in Sunday night around 6:30pm. Moderately busy. The bartender was very friendly. Ordered the lamb meatball sandwich. Amazing! Generous meatballs. Delicious flavor. My boyfriend had the Chopped salad and shoestring fries. He frequents The Richmond specifically for that salad! Service was prompt and food was perfectly priced for the portions and flavor.

Yelp
It's hard to stand out in Portland when it comes to great drinks and great food, but Richmond does. Bar staff is friendly, attentive, and downright talented. Food is delicious (try the poutine). Atmosphere is great for a date or a night with a small group of friends. This is one of my favorite spots in town, for sure.

Yelp
Bartender was super nice, attentive and got our somewhat complicated order exactly right. Love the space in the bar, a good place to chill and play cards after dinner. I ordered their Garlic burger and it was delicious, my only complaint was the bacon was slightly overcooked, but that's being nitpicky! Cute spot, great location.

Yelp
PSA: the poutine is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Omgggggg!! OH and the Mac n cheese is equally satisfying. You will definitely need to walk somewhere afterwards to feel like gluttonous but it's so freakin worth the food coma afterwards. Please do me and yourself a favor, order the poutine AND the Mac n cheese. Share it if you dare or bring the rest home. You're most certainly welcome!!! I would have shared photos but both dishes did not stand a chance. My shirt is currently at the dry cleaners #worthit
