As noted by other reviews, the man working at the info desk, Marc, for The Rink was very rude and unprofessional.
My family and I were out on the ice, and were told at that point that the on-ice sliding chairs for little kids were an additional charge and reservation only. That was frustrating, but during or our ice-time, we took off our skates, and went back inside to rent one. I asked Marc about this, and in passing asked why, with a 2 year old who can only go on the ice with one of these, it had not been suggested we rent one. Marc pointed at the pricing list for The Rink and said it was right there. He was right. It was. In small print, in the middle of a long list, was a line item about an extra charge for this. I missed that when checking in with my family and kids for our first time being there. While I would encourage The Rink to clarify this, I did miss it.
The problem was that, Marc scoffed when pointing to this line, rather overtly suggesting that I was pretty darn dumb for missing this. I told him it was pretty hard to notice. He said it was "right there," scornfully. I was taken aback, and confused, about why this person was randomly being aggressive to me. Unfortunately, we ended up going back and forth a few times. There was absolutely zero awareness on his end that he was in a customer service role. Or that people like me are there to go ice skating with their kids. Rather he proceeded to make me feel inferior for missing this pricing line when checking in. He would not stop talking. He had the last word, and in his eyes it was clear he felt he "won." I asked for his name, stating I would complain, and to that he said Marc, and then he emphasized "with a c," so I wouldn't forget or get it wrong! He was goading me on.
Marc seems like a young and rather unhappy employee. As a father and older person, I would encourage him to reconsider his behavior, and to especially understand that in a customer service role, he is supposed to help people, not upset them, compete with them and taunt them.
