Google
Great coffee and excellent vibe/decor. Small area inside but an outside garden space which is an oasis in Charleston. Lots of students from the nearby college studying and chatting which is always a good sign. Can recommend the cinnamon bun which was superb 👌

Google
Very upbeat and up to date coffee place. The rosemary rise was very good, as well as the blueberry scone. The front room is good for lots of light, and study area. Take the door inside and you will find a nice seating area that is very cozy along with the restrooms. Thanks!

Google
Cute little cafe that my husband and I visited on our honeymoon! Very nice baristas and reasonably priced. The inside of the cafe was also very aesthetic. There were themed monthly drink specials, too!

Chloe Duger

Google
Definitely go for the vibes. Also — calories in pastries do not count. The coffee cake was so crumbly and warm and it perfectly topped off my coffee. Would visit any time!

Ally Bright

Google
Had a great time getting coffee at this cute, stylish, and small coffee shop! The Vanilla Almond Latte was a favorite of the group! The staff is very friendly and made our coffees in great time while we took a look at their unique decor and comfortable sitting area.

Jaye Aster Broder

Google
This coffee shop has a pretty environment and fairly clean. Staff are friendly. The lattes are very good. The espresso is on the acidic side. The coffee shop also has flavored lattes.

Madalynn Williams

Google
Really neat space! Coffee was great! The atmosphere was very modern but also minimalistic in the best way possible! Staff was positive! The whole place is just a vibe! Coffee lovers / Coffee shop lovers should definitely swing by if visiting or a local!

Google
Stay away from the chai latte. This might be the first time in my life I've bought a drink and been unable to finish it. It was bitter, grainy, and tasted mildly of bananas, for some reason. Otherwise, prices look slightly cheaper than comparable cafes because the cups are smaller.

Yelp
They have a lot more sugar-free options than most and I'm super appreciative of that! The service is also super fast and friendly!
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
Pretty small coffee shop but the place is connected to the hotel. I had their rosemary rise latte and the price was steep compared to other coffee we have had. The latte wasn't great. You can taste the rosemary but it was very bitter coffee. Service was okay but not as friendly.

Delaney S.

Yelp
Lauren madigan made me the best vanilla latte I ever had in my whole life. And I'm picky....
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
We went in and wow it looked charming and had all the signs of a good coffee spot. Our coffee was lukewarm. There was no coffee flavor... and again, it was not even close to hot. The creamer, milk and sugar counter was littered with trash and spills. It had been a good while since it had been tended to. The croissants were okay. The price was high, the quality abysmal. Won't go to Rise again.

Yelp
After a day of shopping on King with my daughter we needed a recharge. This is just off King and attached to to The Restoration Hotel. Reviews were good. Staff was friendly and prices on target. Two iced coffees were cranked out in less than a few minutes. They also had baked goods. Interesting that they have a connecting door from the hotel. It's marked. I would return.

Paige H.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop! I loved the rosemary latte! That was a very unique flavor that I did not expect to be good in coffee, but it made my taste buds burst with joy

R B.

Yelp
Nice strong iced coffee, no frills but tasty coffee. Service was quick and place was chill. Not a long wait but it wasn't busy either. Would go back
google avatar

Sarah-Grace H.

Yelp
Super cute spot but really busy area! Staff was friendly and kept it going, no gluten free food options so that was disappointing but would come back!

Caitlin K.

Yelp
So cute. Aesthetic vibes great atmosphere and very friendly service. Get iced coffee with brown sugar and caramel.

Yelp
really wanted to like this cute little coffee bar, but I'm not sure if I can go back.. I saw a few small flies stuck around the sweets/pastries inside of shelf and couldn't make any order.. Just came out without ordering. so sorry but hope they really consider how to repell those bug issues. I was also wondering if they clean the coffee making area after seeing those flies around foods..

Olivia D.

Yelp
12/10 experience almost every time. Coffee is great for price paid and workers are always friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a great local spot in downtown Charleston! Hidden in a back street downtown sits Rise which is a super small coffee shop with cute earthy decor and lots of plants! I got their iced latte and the coffee was top notch. Would absolutely be back.
google avatar

Ashlyn S.

Yelp
Stopped by this morning and had a wonderful experience! Our coffee was flavorful & the pastries were tasty! Merritt was super friendly and welcoming! 10/10 recommend and will be back next time we visit Charleston!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute little coffee shop off King street. Croissants were so buttery and flakey... amazing! The ambiance of the shop was cozy and trendy too. Great experience
google avatar

Zoe C.

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop with great coffee. The Iced Vanilla Almond Latte was strong and delicious. The Caramel Toffee Latte was good, but too sweet for me. I would definitely come back for another latte.
google avatar

Kayla H.

Yelp
This place is so aesthetically pleasing. They have a wall of beautiful plants and simple white decor. I got a mocha iced latte and an everything bagel - both were great! There's a "hidden" seating area that leads into the hotel. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Lindsay M.

Yelp
Latte Lover and coffee shop explorer here. PROS Cute/modern asthetic Lots of non-dairy alternatives ($1.00 extra) Decent espresso CONS My iced matcha latte was over $8 (12oz)? Pours are a bit too sweet Baristas forgot my double shot so I was waiting a while

Jen C.

Yelp
Best coffee and pastries in the city. The barista was so nice and it was super close to the hotel we stayed at. I had the pimento bacon puff. I only had one regret about it...I should have ordered 2!
google avatar

Sam G.

Yelp
This place looks very pretentious and preppy like many places in Charleston. I stopped here trying to get a quick bite to eat and a drink. I went in and asked if they had any drinks that weren't coffee or tea they said no and looked at me like I had five heads. Along with this the food and drinks were both very price wich I can understand for a city like Charleston but they weren't very good. Furthermore I got a plain bagel with cherry cream cheese and the cream cheese just tasted plain. I was very disappointed by the lack of food choiches as well. The service was ok. But the space was very small but it was nice but it is not worth the time or money.
google avatar

Gab G.

Yelp
Great coffee shop with a cute outdoor seating area. Cold brew was great, and my boyfriend liked his double espresso. Friendly employees, too.
google avatar

Andrea C.

Yelp
Coffee was ok but we wasted a lot of money on not great breakfast items. They couldn't identify the cookie option they had that day, so we guessed macadamia nut but ended up with a stale, lemon type cookie that we ended up tossing. An ok option for coffee if nearby, but skip the food.
google avatar

Yelp
The Rise Coffee Bar is a small coffee bar at the Restoration Hotel. It is accessed from an outside door. The coffee bar was clean, and the servers were friendly. There is a small area off to the side to work or study. We ordered 3 drinks - iced caramel latte, iced sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk, and hot sugar free vanilla latte with almond milk. All drinks were good, but they were a little on the sweet side for what we were expecting. I would visit again, but I'd ask for reduced sweetness the next time. I give the coffee bar and their coffee an 8/10.

Luke D.

Yelp
So close but so far. The pastry was so good, other than the fact it was BURNT and the middle was cold. And my wife was given the wrong one‍
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
Cute little coffee place! I visited Charleston over the weekend and think this is my favorite in terms of coffee. Ordered an iced vanilla latte w oat milk - service was fast, price was decent but felt it was worth it. Will definitely plan to come back next time I'm in the area.

Yelp
I really liked this beautiful little coffee shop. The Rise has an inviting, sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere. There are a few seats inside and some comfortable shared tables on the terrace outside. We got our order to go and the coffee and our breakfast sandwich were excellent. Prices were reasonable and the staff was very pleasant.
google avatar

Yelp
This place gets the award for most instagrammable coffee shop in downtown Charleston. The brick and plant wall is such a perfect background for your coffee of the day pic. This place is SMALL, though, and gets quite busy, so I wouldn't plan on sticking around to enjoy the aesthetic too long. Get your order to go and head to Waterfront Park to sip in peace. This shop is connected to a hotel. Like most downtown businesses, they don't have designated parking, but they are located right next to a parking garage. I got an iced coffee and it was good. Not the best coffee in Charleston, but it's still a good cup of coffee, and the staff is friendly and fast. If this spot is convenient for you, or if you want a cute photo or appreciate vibey decor, by all means check them out! If you're a coffee connoisseur, I'd look elsewhere for your daily fix.
google avatar

Yelp
The Rise Coffee Bar is a very small little coffee shop that has a good vibe and is decorated cute. I got a macchiato with oatmilk, it was a bit pricey and the flavor of the coffee was not great. There are not a lot of places to sit so this is very much a grab and go place. If you are staying in the hotel or are right near there it is a cute place to grab a quick drink but there are a lot of other places in the area that have better tasting coffee and have more seating.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
The breakfast quiche I ordered was delicious. Unfortunately the iced coffee I got was just ok. If you visit, I highly recommend going into the adjacent hotel (The Restoration) for a look around and consider a trip up to the rooftop restaurant and bar on the 7th Floor (via an outside elevator) for spectacular views of Charleston harbor and the cityscape.

Yelp
Really loved every little thing about this coffee bar, except the parking situation.. Oh. My. Gosh. Charleston what is this parking issue! Rise Coffee Bar is an eclectic little cafe located adjoint to the Restoration Hotel on Wentworth St. right down the road from the main shopping district in Charleston. The hotel, for starters, is beautiful! Everything from the decor to the outer jungalow seating area was just wonderful. Rise's restrooms are inside the hotel area so you get to stroll through a really urban chic room and admire their decor on your way there. The cafe is no disappointment either! Love the typical black and white honeycomb floors, barstools, merch, and open pastry counter. There's also a little side area outside to the left with two large community style tables where the wifi still reaches strong. Virtual workers, there are outlets inside! The customer service was kind and efficient. I had just an iced soy latte which was tasty and left a good buzz but wasn't my favorite in the world due to the soy milk's flavoring. Next time I'll just do an Americano because the local roast is tasty! Overall I give this place 5 stars for aesthetic, customer service, cleanliness, using local roasts, indoor and outdoor seating options, and kind customer service. Would love suggested free parking options and more milk alternatives though for my next visit! Cheers

Yelp
Amazing little coffee shop right on Wentworth street. Nearly every morning during my recent stay in Charleston I'd wander in here like an uncaffeinated zombie seeking brains, and their coffee never disappointed. The staff is super nice, and their COVID-friendly outdoor seating is such a nice chill vibe to sit and sip in. Also try their macarons and kambucha drinks, too! Only pet peeve I noticed here was they give you the straws unwrapped in a little cup. Even before there was a deadly pandemic this irked me, since I have to touch straws somebody else had to touch to put in my drink and vice versa. Ew. Can we not? Highly recommend! Bring your own straws!

Yelp
I work in walking distance and used to go in a lot (like fill up a punch card pretty quickly a lot) and the coffee is really good. It has a good flavor. However, I probably won't go back. An employee was less than friendly for no reason? My order wasn't complicated and I was friendly. But it was clear that I was inconveniencing her by being there. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her attitude made me feel unwelcome. I'll go to to Handy and Hot East of King from now on. $6 for a plain iced coffee should at least come with good service.

Lucas B.

Yelp
The shop is cute no doubt, but the staff was rather unfriendly and the prices way too high. I would recommend another coffee shop in Charleston.

Scott S.

Yelp
Amazing place. Great local feel and really good beverages. Always worth a visit when I'm in town
google avatar

Mandie B.

Yelp
Loved this coffee shop! It might be one of the best patios I've ever been on. The ivy on the buildings was so beautiful. This coffee was amazing. My husband got a fancy latte and I just got their drip. Both so tasty. The baristas were fun and young and also gave us some great lunch recommendations.
google avatar

Laura J.

Yelp
Great, friendly service and delicious coffee next to a quietly vibrant hotel where the friendly concierge respectfully greeted me while taking a quick peek in their lobby. :)
google avatar

Holly G.

Yelp
Coffee not hot. Out of a lot. Forgot one of our drinks. Long line. I want to like this place, it was friendly. But, super underwhelmed.
google avatar

Opal D.

Yelp
Good coffee bar with all the usual selection. Line moves fairly quickly when there is one. Not much seating.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
this is such a cute coffee bar with a really nice outdoor seating area. they have the basics coffee drinks like; americano, espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc. they also have a selection of signature lattes, my sister got the caramel toffee latte and it was really good if you're into coffee with a touch of sweetness. i ordered the cold brew with almond milk and it personally i didn't think it was the best cold brew but overall it was still good.

Bec G.

Yelp
During a weekend getaway to Charleston, my husband and I stopped by this coffee shop after seeing it online. While it has a very cute aesthetic and is right in the heart of downtown - it was not the best espresso or service. The barista seemed to be annoyed as we were ordering and was speaking in one word phrases during our interaction. Their prices are also higher than average. A single shot of espresso is $4 - so a plain double shot would be $8!
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
4.00 for a tiny single shot macchiato is just silly. And the coffee was dreadfully sour. Fortunately my wife ordered a latte so I stole a bit from her drink to make mine drinkable. Loved the side garden tables.
google avatar

Rozet S.

Yelp
Spotted this cute coffee bar while shopping around King Street. First thought: very hip, and trendy cafe! I ordered an iced caramel toffee latte and it was around $5. It was very good but I couldn't taste the toffee at all. The baristas were incredibly helpful while we were ordering and were quick to make the drinks.

Liz B.

Yelp
Was expecting another generic millennial coffee shop, but was flabbergasted by my vanilla almond latte. Little expensive but worth it.
google avatar

Julianne B.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop with an inviting yet relaxing atmosphere. There are a few seats inside and some comfortable shared tables in the terrace outside. I sat for a few hours and enjoyed the smell of honeysuckles and coffee. My cappuccino was delicious and a fair price- $4.65. The cookies and pastries were highly tempting but some how I resisted. They sell their own roast which would make a nice souvenir.
google avatar

Christy M.

Yelp
You guys, this little place is so cute. Kinda retro in the feel, like hexagon tiles and black and white color scheme... I love it. I ordered the Vanilla Almond Latte and let me tell you... phenomenal. You need to check this place out. Super nice service as well.
google avatar

Eric L.

Yelp
Best coffee in Charleston. Beautiful place with inside and outside seating. Capuccino was excellent, strong but not bitter espresso shots topped with nicely frothed milk..
google avatar

Chrissy F.

Yelp
A lovely coffee bar to stop by and get a pick-me-up. They offer different types of milk options and flavored syrups to jazz up your latte. I opted for the honey lavender latte which was cool and subtle. Great interior design and love the concept of boutique hotels offering an array of goodies like rooftop bar, spa, and mini store next door.

John B.

Yelp
I intended to stop by for coffee and a pastry. The pastry rack was empty. "Are you out of pastries?" "Yes." (They had a jar of dog treats, but I wasn't so inclined). "I'll just have a small coffee." "Sorry, we don't have any drip coffee. Will an Americano do?" "I guess so." Americano isn't my favorite, but it's okay in a pinch. Not this one. $4 for a cup of brown boiled water. Two sips, and then into the nearest trash bin. And no, it was not approaching closing time. I walked a couple of blocks and got great coffee with a delicious pastry, delivered with great customer service at another shop.
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
If I could give like 3.75 stars, I would! Only reason why I'm giving three stars is because I am a coffee fiend and I've just had much better coffee than from here. That being said, the girl working there at the time was so so sweet and LOOK at how cute the inside is!! It was a perfect spot to just grab a quick little latte for the road but yeah, nothing crazy
google avatar

Andrea M.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop right off the Main Street! Super clean and hipster inside. Katelyn was very friendly and made some great latte's!
