This was our 3rd annual stay at The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove, Miami. I’m a Lifetime Titanium Bonvoy member and we paid around $800/night (before taxes/fees), so expectations were high.
We reserved a City View Executive Suite (1 Bedroom, King, Sofa bed, Balcony) about 2 months in advance and emailed requesting a quiet, high-floor, non-connecting room away from elevators. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready until nearly 5pm, and we were assigned Room 329 on the 3rd floor (of the hotel’s 7 guest floors), steps from the elevator, street-facing over the front entrance—basically the opposite of our request. This was also the weekend of the NCAA National Championship in Miami, and the hotel was at high occupancy.
Positives: the hotel included a $50/day F&B credit and complimentary hot breakfast for 2 at Isabelle’s, and breakfast was consistently excellent (Greek yogurt bowl + berries was my favorite). If you’re paying, breakfast can easily run $80–$100+ for two.
Cons: no welcome gift as Lifetime Titanium, plus ongoing noise issues (late-night piped music, loud bar, nearby construction). I was told the noise would be investigated and someone would follow up, but no one called back. On our last day we also endured 1.5 hours of drilling next door, despite calling twice.
Special thanks to Christina Strong (front desk—immediate “how do I make this right?” energy), Lucas at Isabelle’s, and Steve at the front entrance—excellent service.
Beautiful property and great breakfast, but room placement, readiness, and noise management need improvement at this price point.
