"Right next to the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower is this elegant dining room perched on an upper floor of a sky-scraping hotel. It commands panoramic views of the Huangpu River and Pudong skyline and is perfect for business meals or private parties. The experienced kitchen team work closely together to skilfully prepare the freshest ingredients. The menu strikes a balance between tradition and innovation, covering seafood, dim sum and other classics." - Michelin Inspector

"The Pudong hotel fills the top floors of a 58-story financial district building that's a quick walk from the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower. Guests have easy access to high-end shopping and the Metro. Rooms, described by guests as large and luxurious, have views of the Huangpu River and the city's ever-evolving skyline."

"One of Pudong’s marquee buildings, the Cesar Pelli–designed Shanghai IFC, is the setting for this 285-room property. Occupying the top 18 floors of the South Tower, the Ritz-Carlton opened in June 2010 during the World Expo and was meant to usher in Shanghai ’s status as a global powerhouse. Its design skews modern with hints of 1930s Shanghai, while views take in panoramas of the Bund. Guest accommodations start at a roomy 540 square feet, have Art Deco themes, and include Asprey amenities."

Stayed here for a week and the rooms / service is top notch. Breakfast spread is pretty big and probably the best if you eat meat. Initially it seemed a bit limited for a vegetarian like me but restaurant Mgr Ada and Nicole ensured chefs made a veggie version of many items that I could eat. Overall I liked this place and will be returning here on my next trip.

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton Pudong for work in June 2025. ||Positive|1. Great service as usual from the staff I met such as An and Yanna Jin. ||2. If I did not remember wrongly, they updated the WC to a smart WC. ||3. I had a complimentary upgrade and I appreciated that a lot. ||Areas for improvement|1. Given a significant number of smartphones are using the USB type C connectors, the hotel could consider updating/refreshing their built in electrical points to include the USB type C connectors.||2. One of the lamps at the headboard was slanted as the fixture was loose.||3. One of the rails in the elevator was loose. ||4. Limited and dated in-room entertainment channels. I ended up watching Jurassic World no less than 4 times during the stay. ||5. The phones in the room appeared yellowish, not because it was dirty but it had changed coloured due to time. ||I would stay at the Ritz Carlton Pudong again when I return as it is nearer to the airport, attached to a shopping mall and accessible to the subway. ||5. Unable to use Google, Whatsapp, Facebook, IG, Netflix. It can't be helped due to the restrictions.

Such a wonderful experience! It was our first trip back to Shanghai aside from layovers since 2018 and we had such a wonderful time at the Ritz Carlton! The service was fantastic (they even received a giant box of six wedding gowns for us!), the views and club lounge amazing (special thanks to them being so accommodating for our cocktail and champagne requests! They even had caviar one night, which we were so upset to have missed!), food, and drinks also wonderful, our only regret was that we did not have better weather - or more time there!

I stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong recently and was genuinely impressed not only by the hotel itself but by the incredible service from the staff.||Even after checkout, the team — especially Joey and the front office managers — went above and beyond to assist me with a payment adjustment due to a card miscommunication. Despite me already being abroad, they handled the situation smoothly, provided clear communication, and resolved everything quickly and professionally.||It’s rare to experience this level of support and flexibility, especially post-stay. This is what world-class hospitality looks like. I’ll definitely return — and highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai.||Thank you again for everything!

The hotel was really good. The bund view from my room was amazing, and the room was really spacious as well as clean. Thanks for all the great services and warm welcome. I also used their facilities including swimming pool, sauna, gym and bar. All of them well maintained. I would like to visit again :)

Invited by friends for a meal. Solidly top notch in every detail and category, a wonderful experience. Server "Tracy" dedicated herself to ensuring we had the best possible time. Where did they exceed excellence? I would say in two areas. The food had a pleasing convergence of texture which gave unity to the various dishes. And secondly, the view. It feels shallow to praise something unrelated to flavors and service but it's real.

We arrived at the hotel after a very long day of travelling from the UK. Initially, we found the hotel quite hard to locate (after having walked past it three or four times) so wonder if perhaps some clear signage might help but appreciate we were new to the area. ||On arrival, the staff were very welcoming although the offer of something to drink whilst checking in would have been nice as it was hot. The check in process took quite a while in comparison to the other hotels we stayed in. ||The room itself was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The attention to detail was fantastic and the staff were very kind and helpful. We had the best nights sleep in a long time and were touched when we returned to our room in the evening to find water and slippers at the side of our bed. ||We had some issues with accessing the Internet and again the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. ||The Club Lounge access was excellent. The staff in the lounge were kind and attentive and made us feel very welcome. ||The breakfast at the hotel was the best of our entire trip across Asia. The quality of food was exceptional and there was a wide range on offer. Again, the staff were welcoming and kind. ||We would have very much liked to use the spa and gym but did not have time on this trip so cannot comment on those facilities but no doubt they were equally as fantastic. ||Our only regret of the stay was choosing to dine at Flair, the rooftop bar located in the hotel and not one of their restaurants. We felt that Flair really let the rest of the hotel down. The staff were not at all welcoming and even though we had a booking, we were put on a table at the very back next to the kitchen and when politely asked to move, it felt as though we were an inconvenience. The food itself was very average. We didn’t stay long and returned to our room to sleep as we were tired from travelling. After falling asleep, a staff member from Flair came to our room requesting we sign a new bill as they’d made a mistake with our original bill. We didn’t feel overly comfortable with this approach. ||We would genuinely stay again and still believe the 5 stars are deserved but personally we regret not having chosen to eat in the hotel restaurants and would definitely not recommend Flair.
