Massage therapist Mary Anne: 5 ⭐ Spa facility: 3⭐ Mary Anne was fantastic! She found all the knots in my shoulders and got them out. My massage was very soothing and relaxing, which is just what I wanted. When I passed the first security door, I was assaulted by a very strong scent. It was the smell of hay(?) or maybe horse feed-- a distinct smell that evoked memories of petting zoos and my aunt's farm. (The main lobby of the hotel smells like lingering cigarette smoke, so I'm not sure if no staff member ever recovered their sense of smell back from COVID or are all lifetime smokers, but if you're sensitive to smells, this place may not be the one for you). I had an overnight and laptop bags with me, and the receptionist was strangely determined that all my stuff would fit in a single locker and insisted I try just to prove it. But it was an odd and frustrating moment to experience in this upscale of a place, especially before a massage.

The relaxation specialists at the spa are phenomenal. They are so knowledgeable about all of the services offered. Diego was super professional and attentive when providing massage services. I will definitely be back!!

Google
Terrible experience- don’t waste your time or money. The facility is extremely small- a maximum capacity of 3 people- there is no privacy as you try and undress nor any place to get ready after your treatment. Not much they can do about that but this is the Ritz and there shouldn’t have been dirty towels and used robes overflowing in the bins. The massage was subpar. The therapist did not work on the areas I requested and when I reminded her, did a quick 5 min focus at the end. They also ran out of bottled water. When we checked out, the gal never asked how our experience was. All she wanted to know was what form of payment to use. Turns out the receptionist was actually the spa manager. We did share our poor experience but she just stared at us and said nothing. She did of course add a 20% gratuity to the bill. I followed up later with the hotel manager but he didn’t seem concerned either. This was a girls day out to celebrate a friend’s birthday and it was so disappointing. Definitely the first and last time I will go to the Ritz spa. Wait until the Four Seasons and the Salamander have completed their renovations for a far better experience with excellent customer service. Save your money on the spa and go upstairs to the lounge with the fireplace where the wait staff was outstanding and the food divine.

Google
This place never disappoints! It's the better option over the Tysons Corner location. The service and professionalism is exceptional. In comparison to other spas, this location has less turnover and keep a clean environment, as expected to maintain its prestige...

I was greeted immediately and given a tour of the facilities which are beautiful but fairly small in comparison to other spas I've been to. Two showers, dry sauna, and a steam room. I wished there was a pool or Jacuzzi, so I could soak, but I came early, so I could try out everything! It was a Tuesday afternoon, and it was very quiet. I believe I was the only guest! I had a lovely couple hours relaxing while waiting for my treatment, which was a Nourished Body Glow. A full body dry brush then scrub and oil application followed by a back massage. It was heavenly! Everyone was so accommodating and professional. I had a wonderful experience overall!

Google
Had one of the best facials performed by Jennifer K. Very knowledgeable and took such good care of me during our session. She never tried to hard sell or upgrade me on products. Totally trusted her recommendations and expertise. I felt like a million dollar client.

Google
I can't say enough about the comfortable, beautiful spa facility at the Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown and how glad I am it's reopened. Why? Katie Ghazzar! She has been my esthetician for the past 15 years...super friendly and incredibly gifted at making my skin healthy and glowing! You'll never want to leave the table after all the treatments and massage! If you're looking for the best facial in town, do not look any further! Can't wait to return!

Google
The Spa at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown is definitely worth the visit. I came for the day to enjoy the gym and spa ammenities. No services this time. I believe the day pass runs you at about $50. The reception is small but the service is exceptional. You are led down a small windy hall to the locker rooms, where there is a small but efficient and relaxing sauna and steam room. Note, the facilities are smaller as this is a boutique hotel. There is no whirlpool or pool. The gym is complete with hand weights and cardio equipment and can be a rather quite calm place to work out. The best part of this spa is the relaxation room. There is some great artwork there and it is a very tranquil place to spend the afternoon. I will most certainly return to enjoy some spa services next time.

Yelp
Was brought here by a dear friend and wow- what a relaxing experience! Staff were all super helpful starting from the gentleman at the door where I checked my baggage fir the day, to Diane, Katie, Ceecee in the spa. My massage & facial treatments were fantastic - a nice balance of gentle yet still effective. Spa staff were so helpful & not at all snooty like in some spas. I didn't have time to linger in steam room , but did chill a bit in my robe after treatments & appreciated the hot tea & snacks available. Lockers provided for your belongings . Also chillaxed in main hotel lobby while awaiting my Lyft & desk staff were helpful re: traffic info, there was Arnold Palmer to drink, comfy lobby to read my book in the AC.

Yelp
I had my first Ritz spa experience today. While the spa staff is friendly and attentive, the massage I (and my friend) received was mediocre to fair. The amenities are bare bones, with only a small lounge and spa/saunas in the changing areas. Neither of us were impressed and left feeling a bit ...let down. With all of the 5 star spa options in the area, I doubt I'll be back.

Yelp
One of the best spa experiences I've ever had. The spa is small and cozy creating an intimate atmosphere. My massage therapist Jean was phenomenal!!

Yelp
Wonderful Spa Experience! From the moment my wife walked into the warm and inviting lobby, until she walked into the spa. She forgot that she was in the ever-busy Georgetown. She was greeted by Belinda at the front desk, who welcomed her (basically) to her new spa. She had reservations for a couple of wax services, so she waiting only a few moments in the cozy relaxation room. There was a small light that allowed her to read a few pages of her book, but it did not disturb the other guests. As she found out during the services, Katie is an experienced and efficient esthetician. They talked during the services like long lost friends. Katie made the wax services a pleasant experience. Additionally, my wife was glad the spa was flexible in accepting different payments, so it was an effortless end to her spa experience. Thank you so much for the memorable spa visit!

Yelp
This was by far the most incredible massage I have EVER had. I had a hot stone massage with Sharon, and she did an amazing job- I told her that I was carrying a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and she really paid attention to those areas. She was very attentive and professional, and even used a special topical blend for muscles that helped my neck relax. I felt like a completely different person when I came out! The massage room was luxurious and relaxing, and I liked the soothing music. I was a little surprised that the locker room was not as impressive- there's a steam room and a dry sauna, which were nice, but the facilities and amenities are pretty sparse. But the actual massage is what I came for, and it was exceptional.

Yelp
Worth every penny. I can absolutely say Katie gave me one of the best facials I've ever had. And I'm from LA and have had many facials over the years. The entire spa environment was very intimate, private and lovely and the staff was kind and attentive. I left with glowing skin and totally relaxed from a lengthy and thorough face/neck massage.

Yelp
The spa itself is great, but the front desk can be pretty rude and unhelpful. I have some gift cards that can only be used here, so I need to deal with them (if I were given a choice, I would not go back....). And every time except one when I called them, I got put on hold abruptly during my call and then got cut off.... I then had to call back later, sometimes trying several times, and start the whole conversation all over again. And the lady at the front desk, depending on her mood that day, may or may not have an attitude, which is pretty annoying. Just want to finish using my gift cards and stop going back....

Alex C.

Yelp
Katie gave me the best facial I've ever had. I typically enjoy any facial, but always leave with redness. Not this time! After 80 minutes of pure heaven I walked out with nourished, great-feeling skin. The spa itself is very cozy and you have everything you need from showers to a sauna, tea, etc. But really what I will be going back for is Katie's amazing work!

Yelp
I don't like to write negative reviews but unfortunately i was really disappointed with this experience. I got a deep tissue massage. Instead of feeling relaxed during my massage, I actually felt tense -- the movements were quick and random-feeling. On top of that, it also did not feel like a deep tissue massage. For most of it, I felt like she was gently rubbing my skin. At some points though it did actually hurt, but not in a hurt-good way-- it felt like the masseuse was pressing on my bone in the wrong way and in the wrong places. This is coming from someone who's had many deep tissue massages before and always enjoyed them. The reason why I feel inclined to write a review about this is that not only was it not a good experience, but it was very expensive as well -- $200 for 50 minutes plus a $40 gratuity that was automatically added. Lastly, I feel like the price should encapsulate not only the service but the experience of the spa -- and the facility is not impressive. It is very small and the atmosphere isn't very design-savvy or well curated (there was no music in the dark waiting room, and in the treatment room it sounded like the music was being played off of a cheap little speaker). It's okay not to give a five star experience -- but your prices should be representative of that.

Yelp
So I was gifted a spa package for my birthday (YaY). Free parking is NICE. Spa looks very clean and refreshing. I was given a tour of the women's locker room and the amenities they had to order. Great!! I got a Facial 1st, I WISH I could remember her name but she was GREAT. We spoke first so I could explain my concerns since it had been a while since my last facial. She explained step by step to me as well and we spoke throughout the process about different types of documents to use and when to use it. It was great really. She even gave me a little more face cream since I was getting a body scrub next to put on after all my services. Here is where my experience went all the way south, I am in the waiting room/calming room and I could hear the employees talking about my services, the guy did not sound too confident about being an express scrub (30) when it should be an hr. *****I did not know it was an express scrub, I thought it was a facial, body scrub and an hr massage but maybe I misread it online**** None of less, the gentleman doing my scrub explained to me in the room we only had 30mins to do full body when he needs an hour so I asked if we could upgrade to an full hour and pay the difference. After going about back and forth 3Xs while I am on the table NAKED under the covers, we got it worked out. We got the extra 30mins. YaY!!! But NO!!!! it was by far THEE WORST DRY SCRUB I have ever got. It hurt soo bad. it was soo dry and the towels were sooo rough. It was literally painful every time he dried an area. I just took it. I dont know why, I could not relax, I thought I'd be red all over. I mean it was BAD. Next up! Quick shower and massage.. I have to say I really just was trying to relax and try to enjoy the rest of my package, after I made a big deal about an extra 30mins of PAIN! Went back to the women's locker room, changed and went to leave. The young lady walked me out to the front to settle up. At that time the manager walked up talking about the current corona virus. THERE WAS NO MENTION that the TIP was ALREADY paid for. So I leave a tip. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE PRICE DIFFERENCE EITHER. IT was my understand they spoke with the card holder that purchased the package about it. I got an call from him about 45mins later about a extra $100 charge. $100 for 30 MINS. And he already paid a 22% TIP.That was disappointing. I really feel like they took advantage of me when I went to pay for TIP. They could've mentioned TIP was paid but that I could tip more if I wanted to and honestly I might have. I called back and the manager was quick to rush me off the phone by offering a refund of the tip and end it. This was for my birthday mind you. Lastly... they gave me a drink ticket for upstairs. The kitchen was closed but I could order a drink. I only had time for A Drink. I gave my order to the women that walked me upstairs. she said she would pass my order on to the server.....about 10 mins later a server came out ASKING for my drink order.. OKAY... told her this time... 5-7mins later she comes out with other drinks for other people. I had to GET HER ATTENTION to ask the status of my drink. she said it will be right up. again another 5-10mins later I get my drink. over 20 mins for one drink. I only had 30mins. Over all honestly it was disappointing... All that money... All that time... for my birthday and I did not leave there feeling good at all. Don't think I can return.

Yelp
Until a little birdie chirped, I had no idea this spa even existed. Awhile back I attempted to get a massage here and somehow was connected to the Ritz -West End location. When I inquired about booking a massage, there was no hesitation or apparent disconnect, so I had no idea that I had been booked to get a massage at the health club there. That was until I showed up at the wrong location and was directed to The Ritz West End. Not the same. Don't get me wrong, I had a pretty good, bare bones massage at the health club but was so confused. No ambiance? No soft music? I mean, can a girl get a little tea around here?! So when it was time for another massage, I made sure to get it right, calling directly from the Yelp app to ensure the proper connection at the right location. Such a difference. I had my tea. I had my water. I had my soft slippers and robe. I had my relaxation room. No Enya, but I dealt. Because I booked a day or two before and only had a very specific few times available, I was paired with a male therapist. I could tell that the receptionist could hear a little hesitation in my voice, but I cared more about the massage that the gender of my therapist. To my surprise upon arrival, the receptionist told me that they were able to set me up with a female therapist. I didn't make a big deal about it on the phone, so I really appreciate the fact that she took the time to follow up, inquire and set me up with a situation that I felt a bit more comfortable with. My massage therapist (Dana I believe) was amazing. She asked questions prior to the massage in order to best tend to my needs. As a result, a perfectly balanced, effective and peaceful massage. There is not much more to indulge in before or after your massage outside of the steam room and sauna, but hopefully you'll feel so loose it doesn't matter. Definitely would recommend when in need of a little pampering and privacy.

Yelp
Katie has been doing my facials for more than 20 years. Yes, 2-0! I've followed her to various spas in DC and Virginia. She takes great care of her clients and goes above and beyond to meet expectations. The Boutique Spa was welcoming starting with the lovely lady at the front desk and the lounge was a great place to relax before and after each treatment. The steam room was a great way to start my treatment so make sure arrive 30 minutes early before your appointment. If you're looking for a little self-care, this is a must and make sure to ask for Katie.

Yelp
We booked the couples river stone experience. The spa is on the bottom floor. Its a bit small and cramped i have to say and i know its a small boutique hotel so i didn't mind. The experience included dry brushing, scalp massage and stone massage. The massage and everything itself was great. My masseuse was great. The only negatives or constructive critiques is....the experience is supposed to include champagne but we were not given any. The second shower was flooded so something is blocked? My locker didnt work so the two of us used one. Also i couldnt find a blowdryer?

Yelp
Was in town for a short trip and decided to go online and book a treatment, man I am so happy I did!! Booked a 10am exfoliation and massage. I literally felt like the only person in the spa that morning. I relaxed while waiting for my appointment in the world's most comfortable robe. My treatment was absolutely perfect. From the valet service, welcoming check in, personal escort to the spa, and the service itself. I literally would be poor if I lived closer. Can not say enough kind things about this visit. I was handed cold water as I waited for my car to be pulled around and enjoyed witty conversations with all the staff I came in contact with. Will return on my next visit. Could not have been more pleased.

Yelp
Love this place. Facility is small, which is expected because of prime location. But massage is always good
google avatar

S M.

Yelp
The massage treatment was perfect. My therapist was detailed and listened to my preferences. The only down side of the spa are the amenities. I was expecting more. The locker area is small though they feature a dry sauna and a steam room. There are only two showers and two toilets which can cause patrons to wait especially on busy weekends. The quiet room is small and gets very crowded as well. They don't seem to require people turn their phone sound off either as there were lots of beeping and ding noises from other patrons. The quiet room was therefore not relaxing.

Yelp
I have been to many Ritz Carltons all ver the world. This one has by far been the best. My husband and I are here on our honeymoon and have been treated like gold. Service has been phenomenal. All the staff we have encountered haa was made the effort to memorize and great us by our first names. The atmosphere is a different vibe than most, but we love it. It is so cozy and comforting. We highly recommend!

Yelp
Great hotel when you visit the nation's capital! We enjoyed our stay a lot! The Hotel is inviting upscale and very conveniently located. Great place

Heather W.

Yelp
I booked a couples massage here for me and my boyfriend in August 2015. The staff is friendly upon arrival and the facilities are clean. We were led to believe there was a co-ed steam/sauna room for our couples massage, only to find out there was not. The locker/changing areas are small and do not provide enough space for multiple people to sit and dress or undress at once. In fact there was only one small bench for one person, which a pregnant lady was sitting on. So while undressing I struggled to unstrap my sandals without a seat and trying to avoid bending over with my behind in her face. This created a rushed experience to get out of someone's way rather than relax during your spa time. I had to search through several pairs of sandals to find a pair that wasn't soggy wet and squeaky. The massage itself was okay. I've had better, I've had worse. Some parts of the massage felt like he was really getting in there with techniques and other parts get like he was just rubbing. It was an okay experience, but I doubt I would return due to the size of the facilities.

Yelp
I think I have stumbled upon the nicest spa in DC! I usually head to my go to girl at Hela in Georgetown when I need a facial or a massage- and she always does a fabulous job, I'm never disappointed. But Hela is gaining popularity and they are now always booked up weeks in advance, so when my mom was in town and we were in desperate need of pampering I decided to branch out and check the spa at the Ritz in Georgetown. One of the better decisions of my life- this spa is really amazing!! Not only could we pretty much pick whatever time or day we wanted for our appt, but when we arrived the place was completely empty- and stayed that way for the entire 3 hours we were there. I think this place is a hidden gem, primarily only utilized by hotel guests. Now this is not a giant spa by any means- a small locker room with only 7 lockers and two showers, a cozy waiting area, 3 treatment rooms and a sizable steam room and sauna. So you couldn't exactly go here with 5 of your friends and have everyone get a treatment at the same time. I really enjoyed our very private visit- and the massage and facial I had were some of the best I've ever experienced (and as I've mentioned in other reviews I frequent spas so I know what's up). I felt amazingly relaxed and pampered after my two treatments, a nice long trip to the steam room and a cool shower. It's not cheap (but then again this is the Ritz), but it's not way overpriced for what you will find in the area- $120 for 60 minutes of massage and $130 for a 70 min facial...in my opinion worth every penny!! If you're in need of some serious pampering- this should be your go to spa in DC!

WR M.

Yelp
He facial specialist was friendly and the atmosphere relaxing but it was a bit strange that the spa was located in the workout facility. If you want a posh spa experience, this isn't it.

Yelp
After reading reviews on Yelp I asked for a gift card here for my birthday and boy did it not disappoint. I got the rejuvination package (massage and facial). The spa itself is pretty small and isn't one that made me feel like I wanted to hang out there all day. With that said because it's small it is very quiet and relaxing and not grand central station like some other spas I've been to in town. But book early it took me a couple weeks to get in, but the wait was worth it. It is probably easier if you go during the week. The services were the best I've ever had and the products were AMAZING. I am seriously considering returning to purchase some of the products. My body just felt so good after the massage. I was in heaven. And the facial while not necessarily a fun experience during the actual facial my face felt amazing afterwards. If you are looking for a great day spa I highly recommend.

Liz S.

Yelp
WOW! What an incredible experience and atmosphere. I had arrived early and was able to get a good workout in prior to my facial. I had never had a facial before and was overwhelmed with all the choices in DC. It was the BEST facial of all time and my skin in still glowing three days later. I have received so many complements on my skin and its dewiness. I highly recommend this facial to any girl who is looking to feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Katie Ghazzer was the woman who did my facial and she did an amazing job! I am already planning my next visit back to see Katie!

Sushi M.

Yelp
It's a smaller boutique spa so there isn't a pool to lounge at but the steam room, sauna, and lounge were intimate and relaxing. The towels and robes were fluffy and clean. Staff were friendly and the massage was great!

Ray R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were getting a couples massage. And the overall experience I guess was relaxing but they were a few disturbances in between. I'm not sure why they interrupt your spa massage to try to sell you on things. They should just offer them before you start. My massage therapist was trying to turn the lights down I guess to help the atmosphere and the other massage therapist loudly whispered there "are bugs in here". That was about halfway through so after that you can only imagine my own comfort being in a dark room where there are bugs and people are rubbing on me. I could no longer relax. But normally I do love the Ritz and their spas.
google avatar

Donna M.

Yelp
In my review of the lobby i find it very charming, very loungy and super comfortanle. The fireplace is great, the only complaint i have is that the incense that was burnt was overkill, i almost chokes. Other than that its a great place to chill out
google avatar

Yelp
I would have not wanted to get a massage from this place because I know how expensive massages in hotels like this can get, but it turned out be really worth it.

Yelp
I have visited enough spas in the DC area in my 14 years here to know that The Ritz is one of the best. On my visit here, I needed a facial and was paired with Mary. She is ah-mazing! My skin is super sensitive and without having ever worked on my face she created a facial plan for my skin type and tone (*I am African-American with a deep brown complexion). The spa is cozy and tucked in a bit of an oasis style setting of The Ritz in Georgetown. Steam room, toiletries and hot beverages round out the experience where I needed a wind down after a long day at the office. I would return. I also, got product recommendations from Mary before leaving the spa. She provided me with a detailed list of the services/products I had for the day and what I should order now based on where my skin is progressing with age. This looks like my new spa spot.
google avatar

Sergio R.

Yelp
My massage was great but...why is the area with your spa amenities the size of my apartment's closet? Really, Ritz?
google avatar

Joanna B.

Yelp
I received a surprise gift from my son to this wonderful spa, and I must say it was amazing. Zoey, Womie (sp?), and the staff were warm and friendly. The experience was top-notch from start to finish. The decor and ambience were superb. I will definitely go back for more!

Ann M.

Yelp
I have been to this spa twice. Several years ago my husband gave me a generous gift certificate for a day spa here. After my treatments (which were lovely), the spa claimed there was no money on the card. I paid for my treatments, called corporate who promptly saw the error and reimbursed me. I thought little of it. Mistakes happen. We moved overseas and I was unable to use the balance of the gift card as Ritz international does not honor gift cards; however (generously) they are good for life. Earlier this year, I booked services. On the day of my service, I woke up with the flu. Unable to attend my treatment, I was charged $80 to reschedule. I had not previously been notified of a rescheduling fee. But, there was nothing I could do (and frankly, I doubt the spa would have wanted me to attend and get their staff and clients sick). Today, I woke up and had nothing to do on a Sunday and thought it might be nice to work off some stress with a massage. I called at 11am for a massage at 1pm. Knowing that today was the Marine Corp Marathon, I left my house (on Capitol Hill) at 12, thinking I'd build in time for traffic and grab a drink at the bar before my treatment. I checked road closures and headed out. At 1230, I was stuck in traffic because DC had failed to open roads in time. I placed my first call to the salon, letting them know I anticipated being on time (according to gps) but was dealing with serious traffic. At 1240, I called back to let them know, traffic was worse and I was going to be late by at least a few minutes. At 1250, I made a third call letting them know I would be at least 10 mins late due to retorting around Rosslyn. I asked if it would be better to reschedule given that my massage would be cut short. I fully explained situation and said that I was happy to reschedule for next weekend. I was only then told there would be a $40 dollar charge. I politely requested an exception given that the marathon was going on and the city had failed to anticipate the road reopening times appropriately. Additionally, I mentioned that I had taken a time that was empty at last minute - the spa was not expecting to make money but I was promising a re-book. It seemed like an extraordinary circumstance. The booking agent not only refused to work with me but became rude. Ultimately, I accepted to service rather than throw away $40. I arrive at the salon approximately 20 mins late due to traffic and much more stressed or due to the customer service I received. The treatment I received was lackluster. I paid for a 50 minute deep tissue massage. I received a 30 minute Swedish massage. The technician worked my back and identified my knots (trust me I know they are there), but she failed to work them out. Perhaps she could have with more pressure - which I instructed her to use or the additional 20 minutes I paid for. Either way, I left only half fixed. It certainly was not with $175. The facilities themselves are also not commiserate with a 4 or 5 star hotel. The facilities are small. When you arrive there is effectively no room to sit or relax. There is no wine, no fruit, no snack. There is no ambient lighting, no mood music, no comfortable seating. Nothing to make you comfortable. Not so much as a magazine to read. Nothing that anyone familiar with a classy spa would expect. Once you enter the spa, the changing facilities are dismal. Clients are forced to be on top of one another to change. There is no privacy. There is a single toilet and shower. There are no amenities (hairbrushes, deodorant, etc.). This is more on par with a low class gym than a high class spa. Bottom line, I pay good money to be treated well. The customer service here is undeserving of the price.

Mai L.

Yelp
Facility has been renovated since I visited last time. Today was my birthday, so I decided to pamper myself. But my massage was nothing ordinary, and it was less than 50 min (it was supposed to be 50 min). I'm little bit annoyed that my massage therapist kept recommending another 1 hour skin treatment because my skin was dry ( according to her). When I was ready to pay for it, they pushed another scrub product. And they charged automatic more than 20% gratuity. I was little bit disappointed on my 50th Birthday today. Maybe I expected too much:-(. Oh well....

Jane R.

Yelp
When I walked in for my nearly $200 massage it was disappointing. The place was tiny and people who work there were uppity. The massage was just - ok Nothing great. Overall it was a waste of money. I could have gotten a much better massage elsewhere with nicer people

Yelp
The entire experience at the Boutique Spa is pure luxury. There is no other way to say it. From the arrival at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown to the valet parking to check-in to the pre-appointment amenities to the actual service to the post-appointment amenities, this is the place to be for a complete zen experience. I arrived at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown for my spa day only to find out I'd have complimentary valet parking. This is quite a bonus in and of itself and does not happen at another hotel based spa (think baby-blue). Not only that, there is free Wi-Fi inside the hotel for you to tidy up those few last minute emails before heading downstairs to the spa. Once there and checked in, I was given a tour of the facility. Niiiiiice! Locker room, comfy robe, slippers, steam room, shower, shampoos, conditioners, hair spray, gels, lotions, combs, and even a dental kit (which you will need read on). Their waiting room is complete with coffee, tea, water (cucumber or lemon), and CHOCOLATES. Yes, you read correctly, chocolates. (Aw man! I'm here for a facial. That must be a conflict of interest somehow.) As a spa client, you will also have access to the fitness center. If you arrive early enough, you can sweat out even more of the cares of the world prior to your zen experience in this small, but very useful fitness center. Complete with recumbent cycles, treadmills, and ellipticals; a cable machine, a few free weights, and a small area for floor work, this place even features headphones, newspapers, apples, cool-moist washcloths, towels, and equipment wipes. Now don't come here thinking you're going to train for the 2016 Summer Olympics, but do bring your workout gear for at least a quick cardio session and maybe a few bicep curls. Boy am I glad I did. I timed things perfectly to include an indulgent shower before my service. Do this. Take advantage of the scrub, the body shampoo, the spray deodorant, the entire experience. (I didn't use the shampoo or conditioner this time, and you know why, but trust me, I will be pumping out multiple handfuls of that stuff on my next visit. Trust me.) Early arrival is essential here. Evidence of this is the amount of time I had to spend experiencing this spa. I absolutely loved it. Especially this waiting room. Soft lighting, cushy chairs, and everyone is in a robe in here so don't feel underdressed. I had time for a tiny bit of tea and a chocolate before my appointment. Yesssss. Now, I am spa-ing. The treatment room was just as dimly lit and zen as I had hoped and the facial started with my hands and forearms. My esthetician massaged a substance that must have come straight from heaven into my skin, covered them in plastic, and placed them in warming mitts. Can things get any more heavenly than this? Hm. Read on. The attention to the details of my face on this one visit closely rivaled the cumulative attention I have given my face in my lifetime. Honey, yes. See I started off a neutrogena, ten-o-six, and oil of olay girl. As I got older and had a few dollars to spend, I went the popular department store face care route (it starts with a "C" and comes in a mint-green box). Now, I'm a tad bit (ahem) older and need to make sure I don't ever look it, so treating myself to getting "detailed" here is a natural next step. Natural is the only thing you will get at this spa. No harsh chemicals. No commercially available cleansers. No industrial strength scrubbers. The Boutique Spa at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown is all about organic, natural products. I had about a whole field of blueberries slathered on my face in the form of a cleanser. Then there was a strawberry, rice powder exfoliant and stone fruit elixir. All the while, the steam machine was keeping my pores open. There were a few extractions, but hey, that is natural, too. Cotton pads on expert fingertips gently get at anything these cleansers can't. There is an ionic light that zaps any microbes and at the end, there is a combination moisturizer - sunscreen that will leave your skin glowing for days. Mine was. People kept telling me all week "you're glowing!" or "look at that glow" and one person asked me if I was pregnant because I was glowing. (Um, no!) Believe me, even I saw this mystical glow. People were not just pumping me up. My skin was beautiful! And it still is, today. I have decided to include this treatment as a part of my regular beauty regimen. You should, too. I'm a fan of The Boutique Spa at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown. This is as good as it gets. Five stars!

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience here today. The atmosphere is very relaxing, although all of the facilities are on the smaller side. I got a hot stone massage with Sharon and it was amazing. She asked me exactly what I was looking to get out of it and catered to my needs. I wish they had a few more facilities but overall a great experience and I would return.

Yelp
I have to tell you about the most amazing facial, ever, with Senior Esthetician, Robin Pettigrew! You MUST do this for yourself, or, even better, someone you love. I've written a blog about my experience that can be accessed at the end of this review, but here are the highlights. The atmosphere: serene, comfortable, secure. Robin: knowledgeable, funny, reassuring. The treatment: thorough, rejuvenating, sublime. Here's what happened: Step 1: a relaxing inhalation of essential oils and scalp massage. Step 2: a double cleansing of my face; an application of Scent of Pineapple which she explained was an enzyme that would remove dead skin. While I was under steam, she performed an arm and hand message - I could feel my skin replacing the moisture that becomes lost living in an urban environment. Step 3: a blueberry detoxing peel, a deep pore cleansing with gentle extractions, and a chamomile mask. Step 4: a bamboo mask that is a part of The Ritz-Carlton's Eminence Age-Corrective Retinol treatment. Step 5: an amazing shoulder, neck and back massage -- incredible! Step 6:I at the end of my treatment, before removing the mask, Robin gently exfoliated the sensitive area around my eyes and applied a Neroli Eye Serum that had the most amazing tightening effect that I can still see days later! Step 7: Robin sealed everything with a coconut moisturizer that had me cooing like a baby. You could probably go to Europe and get a comparable facial...or you can just go to the Ritz Carlton-Georgetown Boutique Spa, and ask for Robin: 202.912.4175. Yelp
For the past year I have been getting a massage once a month. I usually go to The Gaylord hotel for my massage because I have always had an outstanding experience there, but I decided to try something different and made an appointment at this Spa thinking it would be similar to previous Ritz Carlton Spa experiences I have had. For anyone who has been to a spa please be aware that this spa is very SMALL. The refreshment choice is not up to par for a spa. They had chocolate and whole fruit (most spas have fruit already sliced). There are only 3 chairs in the "relaxation room" which makes it a bit uncomfortable. However, my massage was good and I enjoyed that aspect, but my relaxation soon came to an end as I went to checkout. My boyfriend had pre-paid for my massage, but I had ordered a glass of wine and wanted to pay the 20% gratuity. I had cash on me and I told the lady at the register I would like to pay cash. She said she had to wait for her co-worker because she forgot to get her "cash bag" for the day. I thought this was VERY unprofessional and I was a bit frustrated because I had a full day planned. I waited about 15 minutes for the other lady to come back, as other guests were being checked in with no problem. My issue was that the initial representative never even went to tell her co-worker she needed the cash bag. When she returns the woman realizes she doesn't have the proper change in her "cash bag." She states that she has to go and get additional change. After about 5 minutes I began to get a bit impatient, because I was waiting about 20 minutes to checkout. I asked the other representative asked how much longer you should be and her response was " I have no idea. " So I decided to just pay in cash and did not want my change. The checkout process was horrific and I would not refer this spa to anyone.

Yelp
I would have to emphasize that this spa is not cheap, probably one of the most expensive ones. But I would recommend it anyway because it's really worth it. The masseuses are well-trained and very professional.

Yelp
This was absolutely a phenomenal spa experience. The spa is beautiful. I did a couples massage and Yanick and Rebecca did a great job. We felt absolutely relaxed. They are pricey though, but it's the ritz so it's expected. The locker rooms are very very nice. We utilized the steam room and the sauna, but the changing area with the lockers is a little small. Lucky for us it wasn't a busy time when we went so we were able to enjoy the amenities without bumping into other people. All in all it was a great experience.

Yelp
Kudos to Ritz Carlton for exceptional customer service. This is a past experience that earns them five stars in my book!! This is a complaint letter written to the Westin, about their lack of service. To General Manager: My husband and I were guests at the Westin on April 13, and 14. Our grandson was married on the 14th and our family all stayed at the hotel. The hotel did an excellent job with the wedding and reception. However, I would like to make you aware of a very disappointing experience with your concierge desk. About one hour prior to the wedding, I realized that I had forgotten to pack a tie for my husband. I called down to the concierge desk and they did not return my call so I went down to the desk. I told them the situation and ask if they could help me in any way as were were having family pictures taken. They told me they had no gift shop and I even ask if they could check and see if there was anything in the lost and found area. He told me that there was a Brooks Brother store about 4 blocks away. I knew that I couldn't make it to Brooks Brothers that fast and get back. I was hoping that perhaps they could find a uniform tie or anything that would do. My husband was the Asst. Manager of the Washington Hilton and I can assure you, he would have found me a tie! I started running and went to the Marriott, and to the Ritz Carlton to see if they had a gift shop. It was only a half hour until the wedding when I stopped at the Ritz. I ask the young man that was outside doing the valet parking if they had a gift shop. He asked me what I needed and I told him about the wedding and needing a tie. They too did not have a gift shop so I started to run back to the hotel to try and get there in time for the wedding. I then heard someone yelling, "Miss, wait!" That young man actually chased me down the street, pulled his tie off his neck and handed it to me! He said, "Hurry, go to your wedding!" I tried to pay him for the tie and he refused! Let me tell you, when it comes to customer service, the Westin has a long way to go to catch up with the Ritz! I know where we will be going for our next wedding or family function! I was so dumbfounded that someone that had nothing to gain was concerned enough to pull his tie off from his own uniform and send me on my way. I ran back to the wedding and was able to get my husband down in time to see the wedding! I was very surprised that I received such caring service from a hotel that gained nothing from our family when I am certain that the Westin was very well paid by our family that weekend not only from the wedding but all of the rooms that we had booked! I am sure that we are not the first family that has had such an experience! May I suggest that you keep a spare tie available so that someone else doesn't have the same experience as I did! As I said, my husband was the Assistant Manager at the Washington Hilton Hotel. It was upon his request that I take the time to write you so that you can improve your customer service!

Yelp
My sister and I decided to take a mini vacation right in our own city.Exiting the elevator to the spa we were met with a scent that immediately propelled me into a place of calm and relaxation. The spa receptionist was polite and hospitable. And although expected, its a rare quality to come by these days. My facial was with Robin who was able to assess my needs quickly and was the perfect amount of friendly while remaining professional. She gave me great recommendations for my skin without added pressure to purchase. My sister and I truly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely return there the next time we want to treat ourselves to a getaway just down the road!

Yelp
Fantastic spa- When I inquired about booking a massage, there was no hesitation, the receptionist was pleasant, even on the phone. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Yelp
I never met a spa I didn't like but there are spas I like better and even spas I love. This spa is one that I love. Front desk staff welcoming and helpful, relaxation room peaceful and well stocked with water, teas, kind bars and chocolate. Complimentary valet parking for spa guests is a wonderful perk as parking in Georgetown can be challenging and expensive. The real standout is the therapist I had, Sarah. Sarah gave me one of, if not the best, deep tissue massage I have ever had! I booked a 50 minute session but wish I had splurged for 80 minutes. I can't wait to go back for more!!

Yelp
Robin gave me the best facial I ever had and I go to many spas around the country. She answered my questions , she was attentive, she was very gentle. The hand and neck massage was also amazing. It was relaxing she didn't talk too much while doing my treatment. My face felt so much better after the facial . It was great I will be going back. The spa was nice and comfortable as well.

Yelp
This spa is a little hidden gem in Georgetown. I've been to several spas in the area and was very impressed with the aestheticians and service at this spa. It has all of the amenities of other hotel based spas, but is more reasonably priced and very quiet and tranquil. I had a great massage and bikini wax while there, and plan to go back soon!
