What happened to this place? A few years back I remember playing 36 holes with a pal of mine, membership holder, it was a such a lovely course. Yes, the course today is still in pretty good shape but my experience was far from what I call "lovely". You know what made it great the last time? The staff. In-particularly the staff at the half-way house, just a walk away from the 10th tee box. Boy I'll tell you it really brightened my day to see the young man in there. He was so full of life and all of his food was covered with an extra helping of love! You can actually taste it, no joke! Absolutely anything we needed he was always one step ahead of us. All we needed to do was call the boy at the half-way house and we were sure to get quick service. As we made the approach to 9, my pal would always call ahead and order our lunches. He ordered his B.L.T while I was always the adventurous type, resting my faith on the half-way house staff. I was never let down, not once!
We recently returned and unfortunately I was not as pleased. The staff wasn't as lively and friendly as before, add to that, my food was seriously lacking any depth. It was disappointing to say the least. After our round we walked to the bar and ordered dinner. The bar manager is a great fellow and I hope they never get rid of him. See, I'm the kinda person who believes that the right staff makes a world of difference, regardless of how exquisite the food can be. A mere sandwich turns into Lobster Caviar Frittata in the hands of a passionate artisan.
Maybe I'll give this club another chance? Strictly to visit never to join.
