The 8 Best Bars In Fort Lauderdale

"Riverside Market is a beer bar with a few locations in Broward, but the original near downtown Fort Lauderdale is the best. The space has communal seating (both indoor and outdoor) and couches to hang out on. Beer fans will love this place. It used to be a convenience store and they have a wall of refrigerators where you can browse through hundreds of beers, pick one out yourself, and just pay for all your empty cans at the end. It’s one of our favorite places to drink in the city, but we always end up eating too, because the bar food is solid." - ryan pfeffer

The Meet In The Middle Guide: Where To Eat With Your Broward Friends

"Riverside Market is a great Fort Lauderdale beer bar where you can hang out on a couch and eat barbecue chicken pizza. There are a few locations to choose from, but go for the original location in Sailboat Bend, which feels like hanging out in someone's living room. This place used to be an old gas station but now has a charming Fort Lauderdale mancave aesthetic. All the fridges are stocked with a huge beer selection—you just grab what you want, hold onto your cans, and pay at the end. " - ryan pfeffer

Riverside Market Review - Fort Lauderdale - Miami - The Infatuation

"Riverside Market is a beer bar with a few locations in Broward, but the original near downtown Fort Lauderdale is the best. The space has communal seating (both indoor and outdoor) and couches to hang out on. It’s one of our favorite places to drink in the city, but we always end up eating too, because the bar food is really good. The fried chickpeas are a perfect drinking snack and the hoagies never disappoint—but it's the BBQ chicken pizza that's our go-to order. Beer fans will love this place. It used to be a convenience store and they have a wall of refrigerators where you can browse through hundreds of beers, pick one out yourself, and just pay for all your empty cans at the end." - Ryan Pfeffer

From the outside, the place isn't much, but the inside is very fun and welcoming. The selection of beers is truly amazing. Ouroʻ waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about their selection. We had the Mahi tacos, and they are by far the best I have ever had. Unfortunately, we are from out of town and won't be back after this visit. But if we did come back, we are making sure to stop here again!

Google
A very chill spot to be at in my opinion. Gives off how a speak easy should be nowadays , low music no loud conversation just a pizza slice in one hand and a beer in the other. Very enjoyable, would definitely go again

Google
Stopped here for sandwiches and enjoyed our lunch overall. Some of the tomatoes were slightly rotten which was annoying. The concept for grabbing any beer you'd like was pretty cool. Beer prices were a bit more than I expected!

Marisol Seys

Google
Cool place some locals let us know about... glad they did because otherwise it's a bit confusing for a first time. The beer selection is insane. Never been to a place before where it's "self serve" - grab the beer and then bring up the empty at the end to pay. Pizza was really good too

Google
Loved this place. It's what I would call a dive bar, but in the best way possible. I can't drink (medical thing) but if I were a beer drinker, this place would be awesome. They have these huge coolers with cans of what seemed like at least 100-200 different kinds of beers. The guy I was with really enjoyed the few different kinds he had. And, for non-drinkers like me, they had a unique selection of bottles and cans of sodas, etc., way beyond the typical Coke and Pepsi stuff. The drinks are self-serve, so you can just peruse the large selection. Great place.

Google
The Riverside Market Cafe is a hidden gem that offers an incredible experience for anyone looking for great food and an impressive selection of beers. With a massive variety of craft brews to choose from, beer lovers will feel like they've found their paradise. The food is equally excellent, offering delicious options that perfectly complement the drinks. The service is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home. There's plenty of parking available, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. The cafe is nestled in an eclectic neighborhood, which adds to its unique and vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, The Riverside Market Cafe is a must-visit!

Google
With what I'd say is the best beer selection, in all of fort lauderdale. Easy, relaxed atmosphere. Great to just try some beer and have a good laugh. Diverse crowd with no judgment kind of people. All just wanting good tasty easy meal, laughter and a lucky dip on the drinks. Since there are so many options. Highly highly recommend. Not expensive either. Unless you get a silly bottle of beer that is expensive

Google
A classic staple of Fort Lauderdale!! Great selection of beers, from domestic, craft, local to import. Great food selection as well! A unique little spot in tarpon river. Would recommend to anyone who wants some good beer and food !

Yelp
I have been coming to this place since about 2015! My wife and I would come here when they would close once the last person would leave. That rule has changed but the ambience and homey feel has never changed. The food is definitely a mix of your favorites and you can always find something you would like for all types of eaters and beer drinkers! Most people come for the beer, which there is plenty of! If you are a beer connoisseur this is your place but don't sleep on the food! My favorites are the pastrami or Reuben sandwich, but people love the pizza! It's a little doughy for me but I won't deny a slice. Actually I think that's what makes there's pizza special a little under cooked! Regardless, the vibe and serve yourself vibe is the best! Come in grab a beer and enjoy!

Yelp
Riverside is one of those places that just fits in. From the moment you walk inside, you feel like you're home. The vibe is unlike anything else in the area. I love the honor system for getting your drinks, and the food never disappoints. Personally, I love the small bbq pizza and the hummus platter. Smaller pizzas tend to be crispier. Great neighborhood spot. Love walking here and grabbing a brew and a bite to eat.

Yelp
I can't decide whether to call this place famous or infamous. Whatever you call it the food is friggin awesome. Came for lunch the other day with my friend and had that sandwich down below loaded with all sorts of peppers, a little bit of heat, nothing too bad thankfully, but really, really, tasty, and huge. Ended up having it as Lunch the next day too splitting that thing in half. Then this morning I was looking for a breakfast spot nearby and found they did breakfast as well They didn't disappoint -- that breakfast Sammie was on point. If I could, I'd give this place six stars.

Yelp
I've been coming to Riverside for years now and it's about time I return the love. This is a Fort Lauderdale staple tucked away in a residential neighborhood. The parking lot fills up pretty quickly but there's a good amount of street parking available. And as soon as you walk in you immediately feel at home. Seat yourself wherever's open inside or out. And grab yourself a board game or card game from the back shelf before doing so. There's tons of craft beers in the coolers to choose from. And I mean a ton! Be sure to save your empty cans or bottles to pay at the end. They have a good amount of food options to order from the kitchen. The pizza has great flavor but can be hit or miss and the hummus platter is a personal favorite. Great vibes with an amazing selection of craft brews. Staff is very laid back and helpful as always.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! We went to get a bite to eat and taste the different beers. We had a great time! This place is somewhat hidden behind the Publix on Broward Blvd and 70th. The beers on draft always change, they have a wall of refrigerators with everything from water to the latest IPAs. There are high top tables, long tables to seat multiple parties or a big party, bar seating, and couches/lazy boys. We ordered Reuben sandwiches and the chicken nachos. Very good. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they were out of the first 2 apps I ordered. Although the chicken nachos were a very good alternative. Great place to relax and chat with friends. We had a great time! We will definitely make this a go-to to chillax.

Yelp
Cute place tucked in off the beaten road. We came to eat pizza across the street but they were on an hr break so we came here. It's a chill place & there is a huge selection of beer and other alcoholic beverages. I didn't get to try the food only a couple of appetizers but the pastrami smelled good. The service was very good as well.

Yelp
This entire neighborhood is so cute, we loved visiting here while in town for a couple days. Super cool, chill vibe, kid friendly, and more beers than we could decide between. Honor system, beer is grab and go. If you choose to take it to go they take 30% off so we were grateful that we could take a few home. The food was also super tasty - my husband had the sub and said it was delicious! The kids and I had burgers and buffalo chicken dip. While the dip was a little dry, it tasted great. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we are in town!

Yelp
Another amazing experience at The Riverside Market. We just love the ambiance of this place. The food was great. Ordered the caprese salad. Huge beefsteak tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, basil and balsamic vinaigrette. For main had small tavern cheese pizza , love this pizza. Also had the pork sandwich. Sauce made the sandwich. We did not get her name but the bartender was great. Can't wait to go back !

Yelp
Found this place through a friend and it was awesome!!! I loved the vibe and they have the biggest selection of beers Ive ever seen. Really cool place :)
google avatar

Yelp
This place was great! Lots of kitschy things all over the walls and ceilings to talk about. Huge and eclectic selection of beers and ciders, even non alcoholic for the dry guys in the bunch. The food is also delicious! My girl said the jalapeño poppers were the best she's ever had. She even ate the side jam by itself. I had the Ruben sandwich which was messy and delicious! I would definitely recommend the Buffalo dip as well. Servers were very friendly, and the entire place had an overall welcoming feeling. I could see myself coming here regularly if I lived here!

Yelp
Great experience, a very young lady I never met, but she made me feel very well. She was at the front desk and her hospitality was great. I'm pretty sure the food I got will be amazing.

Yelp
The beer selection is ASTOUNDING! A very nice selection of draft beers, well curated, but the real star is the long row of coolers with every category you could want and plenty of both knowns and unknowns. I love dark beer and they had so many brown ales, porters, stouts... if you love them too you know how rare that is in South Florida. Food doesn't have to be good when the beer is this good, but everything was delicious. I couldn't resist trying the PB&J beer, which did have strong notes of both. It was very odd, but I enjoyed it as a fun try. I will be back, and I'll bring friends. OOPS hahaha I posted this review in the wrong location... I guess I'll have to try this one too and see how they compare? I have no doubt all of the beer lovers in the group will be pleased.

Yelp
Well, the beer is always good, but we don't always eat. So today was a blessing, just stopped in to get out in the cooler weather and decided to grab a snack. The North Fork was too good for words. Everything on it was fresh and complimentary. The bread was perfect. I tried each meat alone, all were great. The Hot Chicks were a surprise! I am not a chickpea fan (sorry to all those who try to make them a "thing", they usually suck!) but these were divine and a make a great snack to go with a good beer! Again, we frequently come here. It is mere blocks from our front door, but we rarely (actually, never) eat...today I am glad we did! The picture of the North Fork is half of the sandwich...very fairly priced!

Yelp
Great place to hang out with friends. Easy going atmosphere and pet friendly. Food is not expensive and there is an extremely large selection of beer and sodas. The thing we like the best was ambiance and the Pastrami sandwich. Definitely worth coming here.

Yelp
Love this place. Disappointed it took me this long to get here. Ten years ago I would've lived at a place like this. Chill vibes. Great atmosphere. Nice people. We brought our 8 month old and while his dad was nervous to bring him to a gastropub, it was great. He sat on the table and looked up at the bicycles and things hanging from the ceiling. We ordered some burgers and beers and everything was delicious. Maybe I'm more lowbrow than I realize, but the fries were some of my favorite ever. Also like the spicy sriracha that was available. My black and blue burger was also delicious, along with the lager on draft I got. Got an extra kick out of the little boy passed out on the chair for a good portion of our visit. No more beer for him :)

Yelp
Off the beaten path but definitely worth the trip! Located in the Sailboat Bend area of Fort Lauderdale, while only a 10 minute drive from the fanciness of Las Olas, this place reminds me of a Wisconsin "townie bar" where everyone is laid back and the place serves up great food and drink at reasonable prices. I had been to their location out in Plantation and while nice- that location lacks the charm that this place oozes. Maybe it's because of the building is an old grocery story from the 50's or maybe it's because the neighborhood that surrounds this place is established, but whatever the reason, I felt at home the minute I pulled open the door. The premise is simple. The room is lined with beer refrigerators where you just grab what you want and sit at one of the tables to enjoy it. Need an opener? They are hanging from the posts around the room. There are also on draft specials listed on the chalkboard behind the cashier. There is a huge selection of beers or if you just want an old standby, they have those too. Their menu is on a QR code attached to the tables so you can just scan to see what you want from their varied menu. A server comes around to take your order (the cashier) and then she also delivers the food when it's ready. We wanted to try a range of food, knowing we would take some of it home, so we ordered a lot of food, First we had a couple of appetizers; jalapeno poppers and buffalo shrimp. Both were good but whenever is fried food bad? Ha! Next up were the fish tacos (3 to an order) and a pizza. The tacos were great but that pizza sang to me with it's thin crispy crust, loaded with toppings and they even cut it into squares when my friend asked which made it all the better! When you are done, you can ask for boxes for your leftovers, bring your empty bottles and cans to the cashier and she will cash you out. A great semi self service place. If lingering is more your style, they have board games that you can play as well as a seating area with couches set up around a TV in the middle of the place. Or there is outdoor seating out front if that is more your thing. Parking is easy too as they have their own little lot, right in the middle of this cozy neighborhood. Definitely will be back with some of my out of town friends who are always asking to go to the local spots. Riverside market definitely fits that bill!
google avatar

Yelp
Great family owned spot! Friendly staff! Great atmosphere if you want to just chill with family or friends! On this trip we enjoyed the fish tacos tuna melt pretzel bites and beer Meet you there or in Plantation anytime!

Yelp
Been here several times. It's a really good go to place for beer lovers. Food is good and service is typical of any bar. The ambience is great.
google avatar

Kelly W.

Yelp
We LOVED this place! From the outside it's very unassuming, inside it's the coolest little hidden treasure! There is a whole wall of coolers filled with craft beer and other coolers throughout with other beverages. There is so much fun decor, you could probably go ten times and discover something you haven't seen before each time. We stopped in for breakfast before a festival and we were so impressed! Service was incredible and the food was tasty! My BF and I shared the BBQ chicken pizza and a hoagie, both were delicious! The pizza looked a little burnt but oh no, it was the BBQ sauce that had caramelized and ooo-wee it was wonderful! They are affiliated with Craft Beer Cartel which is right across the street and is also a great spot for craft beer! We were only there for a weekend and we considered going back the next morning for breakfast again! We will definitely be back next time we're in town!
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Amazing little neighborhood dive. The food was great and staff were friendly. We went back twice to try other menu items. The hand cut fries and homemade onion rings were hands down the best in the area. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Jesse R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Great food. Largest selection of beers Ive seen in recent memory. The staff were friendly and the prices were great. Excellent experience all around.
google avatar

Yelp
I like their pizza and it's a good spot to hang with friends over good beer!!! Their live music is pretty cool. Service is always great. Beer is always cold and never runs out. A cool vibe to go spend the afternoon with friends :)
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
Incredible ambiance and I love the pizza here. The drink/service style is unique to me they carry my favorite Austrian beers from Salzburg which for me is sooo cool. I've been twice so far and I can't wait to go back again. Parking here at this location can be tricky, definitely try to car pool or Uber/Lyft.

Lorenzo A.

Yelp
Great place to hang out with friends. A local hidden gem. The whole neighborhood is!

Yelp
Nice place to chill and have a craft beer, seltzer, or craft soda. The small pizza was light thin crust and flaky i had the margherita it was absolutely delicious i almost finished the whole thing myself. Service is always friendly and inviting, many cool books and seats and tables. updated plugs with usb in them were helpful. Staff helpful in assisting with where to find specific beverages down to which door and rows.. that pizza though! 10/10!
google avatar

Leqi H.

Yelp
Riverside Market has a cozy casual vibe to the place. There is seating indoors and outdoors. They have a large beer selection but they also have wine, sodas, teas, and juices. It is a self serve alcohol place where you grab yourself a drink from any of their fridges and bring the empty cans to the front when you are ready to check out. They also serve food and I definitely recommend the pizza.
google avatar

Patrick K.

Yelp
Fun spot for a craft beer and crunchy pizza. Great chill-no-frills vibe. Honor system when buying drinks. We had an issue with the chicken wing dip and they removed it from our bill no problem. Always enjoy this spot. Kid friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice local place. Food is very good. Many Beer options. We went with our two kids (6 & 14) and they also enjoyed it. Cost benefit great! Rock music very enjoyable

Yelp
One of my most absolute favorite local gems here in Fort Lauderdale. The ultimate cool hangout place with a choice of beer (and/or seltzer and other options!) for all kinds of drinkers! There's no way you won't find at least one thing up your alley. This place is amazing with great vibes! Food is delicious. The pizza is just the best and will fill that craving for yumminess! Go support this awesome business!
google avatar

Shawnie P.

Yelp
This was my second visit here and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. Although they have four locations in South Florida, this location is nestled in a neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on 12th Street. This is a hip & trendy spot to come and hang out with friends. Chill vibe. They work on an honor system so everything you see, you can grab, drink and then pay when you leave or at your leisure. They also have a food menu. We ordered the hummus sampler and a cheese pizza which were both amazing. They have "featured beers" I believe on a weekly basis. Cool & unique selections. Their IPA's are ! They are open seven days a week. They have parking in the front and on the side of the building but the weekends can get a little packed so parking is first come, first serve. When you try a beer that you like, you can grab a pack and take some home with you as well. This is South Florida'a Largest Selection of Craft Beer! A must try!
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
A local hidden gem. The whole neighborhood is! The Riverside Market gets its name from being an old grocery from the 70's turned party house. It's a sweet spot to highlight for a couple hours with out-of-towers. Especially they will leave with great memories and tales of all the different beers and great food! It has a Washington state comfort zone too. I like to sit down in the living room pit and eat. Riverside Market is best found by GPS. Hey! It's right around the corner from Al Capone's Mama's house - where the Capone crew used to hang-out and play cards on the low down.
google avatar

Lilly T.

Yelp
I can't compliment this gastropub establishment more! Clandestine and nestled in a quiet river side community, Riverside Market doesn't subscribe to typical bar norms and sets itself apart from the mundane. I've been a frequent patron of Riverside for quite some time and it never gets old. For starters, they have the best and most mountainous beer selection (local and beyond) in town. If you're not into beer, they've got ciders and hard seltzers galore. For our dry friends, dive into their non-alcoholic beers and bev options. The food is deliciously solid and we love the friendly staff and fun energy of the place. Being a motorcycle friendly watering hole, we usually ride in on our motorcycles and have met several fellow motorcyclist patrons along the way. Good people, good food, good vibes. No drama, no bs. My only suggestion is that the owner Julian (a big and burly man with a heart of gold ) should consider holding small bike events or similar vendor-sponsored events at the market, if allowed. Cheers!
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
The ambiance is casual, you can self serve yourself beer/wine and then pay at the end by showing your empties. Pretty neat concept, makes you feel like you're drinking in a friend's garage. The food was ok, but honestly it's SO dang cheap who cares....it's really intended for the inevitable drunchies that arise if you spend the day or night there. Lots of games to play, couches, again feels like a home. Love this spot!
google avatar

Yelp
I stayed at an Airbnb for clinicals because I live in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale is too far from me. In the binder of my Airbnb it said the riverside cafe was 4 minutes walking distance, I think out of my 12 days stay I went there 3 times and I wish I went everyday and sooner! The place is nice, cozy, and friendly casual. You have to see for yourself! Honestly for the random Thursday Monday and Wednesday I've been, they've been busy which means good news right? The black and blue hamburger is my absolute favorite it's just heaven on a plate. I ate the wings my last day and they were Yums too. But the hamburger was just 10/10. You self serve your drinks and the overall atmosphere is very neighborhoodly unlike Miami which I appreciate lol. Casey the employee is a queen and must be protected at all costs. She is so sweet and attentive, and made me feel welcome while I was eating like a loner lmao. A great place to chat, have a meeting and a beer, study and have a beer, honestly whatever you want. If I'm around the area I'll def come back!
google avatar

Matt W.

Yelp
The coolest beer building in the tri-county area. Completely worth the drive. The BBQ chicken pizza with cilantro is the #1 menu item. Insane beer selections. Pay after you drink. What could be better. Do NOT skip this place. Trust me.
google avatar

Valerie C.

Yelp
Riverside cafe is like no other place you've ever been, if you can find it you're ahead of the game. It is truly off the beaten path located on Southwest 12th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale. It is very eclectic, diversified and a whole lot of fun. When I arrived there on Saturday afternoon there were 3 Harley's parked out front. When you step inside its small and quaint , however it is probably one of the best pizza places that you will ever encounter. There are about 13 beer coolers for bottled and canned beers, there is a bar area up front that you can get draft beer. There are ables and couches and you have board games where you can play while you wait for your food. It is a very quaint and charming place it's a got to go see place We had the large pie with mushrooms, green peppers ,onions and I had some pepperoni on the side. Go find Riverside

Yelp
It's a fun place to hang out with friends and get a bite to eat. They have great $5 breakfast sandwiches too.

Yelp
Cozy comfort zone, always love a good slice and a million brew options. It's a local favorite
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy foods and coolers of all the beers you can think of! The hot chicks are amazing and so is the pizza. Tonight we tried the pretzels, fries and Buffalo shrimp all delicious.

Yelp
This location is excellent. It's right beside the river. The place is sexy for a date night or brunch as they serve bottomless brunch, but they need improvement on their food -not too tasty for the price. I have been here three times with friends, and everyone had the same option for the food.

Yelp
Such a gem of Fort Lauderdale. Like family with better beer everything is always great. Friendly staff and unique and local beers

Yelp
This is a totally unique and unexpected joy. Their brews and Sammie's and pizza are just what you need.

Yelp
An epic hole-in-the-wall gastropub. I absolutely love this place. My friend invited me one night and I'm so glad I found out about this place. They have over 6 fridges full of beer, categorized by what kind of beer they are. They have easy, comfort food. Don't come here looking for something high-end, you're going to get tasty pub food. The grilled cheese and the nachos are pretty good! They're definitely a go-to. I found one of my favorite sour beers here. The vibe is amazing. It's so laid back, fun, and relaxing. After a day of work or a long week this is definitely a great place to kick it. The staff is nice and attentive. If this sounds like your vibe, come check them out. It's definitely a gem.
google avatar

Jillian L.

Yelp
The pizza was excellent. I loved the ambience of being able to just grab my own beers. The staff was extra friendly. I would recommend to anyone.

April E.

Yelp
Great little place with a fun atmosphere and large selection of beer. The pizza was simple but very tasty. The drinks are self-serve. Just keep your empties. Limited menu but from what I saw served, big portions for affordable prices. We were just in town for the day, so this was a good little pit stop.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
We were in town visiting some relatives who live down the street from this super cool and unique local spot. They recommended this place to us for a quick bit to eat and a couple drinks. Our first night in town we walked down and grabbed a couple beers and ordered Pizza. The drinks are set up "serve yourself" style. You walk in and grab a drink of choice out of the many coolers (like you would at a liquor store) and hold onto your empties for when you check out at the end. You can sit inside or outside. We enjoyed the atmosphere so much, we came back the next morning for coffee and breakfast. We both got the same sandwich and it was DELICIOUS! If I were nursing a hang over this would have been the perfect cure. This place is extremely unique and is very "what you see is what you get". And honestly, that adds to the charm. I dig the "this is us" kind of attitude. Local spots like this don't stick around very often where we are from and we definitely can't wait to come back when we are back in town.

Yelp
Perfect hole in the wall place with good food and tons of craft beers! Food is dirt cheap and the wait staff is super friendly.

Yelp
I Love this place! I've made Riverside a weekly spot I go to since moving in the area. Yummy food, dope staff & awesome environment. Everyone is very chill and attentive--great atmosphere to come with friends & family. Dog friendly! Always rotating the draft and they work on a honor system. Love love love this place gotta check out

Yelp
Food is always good and received on time. My wife especially likes the margarita pizza.
