REO Town’s intimate arts hub hosts music, poetry, comedy, film, and collaborations with Ten Pound Fiddle and the Lansing Symphony. Its 2025 calendar shows why local critics call it a listening room with soul—small room, big talent, warm hospitality.

Stopped in to the bookstore today looking for 1 book, and walked out with 7! The owner was friendly and knowledgeable, and the shelves were organized in a way that made it easy to spend time browsing. The venue area was open and inviting, and made me wish I was there for a show. It looked like it would be a fantastic place for a performance. Love the concept! Can't wait to go back

Great evening out. New to the Lansing area and was very happy to experience this Listening Room. Everyone there was very helpful and easy to talk May Erlewine and Anna Nash put on a great show. The intimate atmosphere and clear house rules for cell phones allowed this respectful and mature place to enjoy music. I look forward to my next visit

The people running it are the kindest venue hosts I’ve ran into in my concert adventures. They also really care about presenting a high quality product. I went to see Philip Bowen, and they gave him and the opener everything they needed to create a wonderful show.

Very intimate venue, not a bad seat in the house! We've gone to about a dozen shows and always had a great time. The acts are a good mix of genres and national and local talent. The sound is managed very well and i've never heard it get too loud or uncomfortable at any shows. I would highly recommend!

Google
"The most intimate and friendly listening room in Michigan" best describes The Robin Theater in Lansing. This is probably the 5th or 6th show I've seen there, and each concert has proven to be the best place to see my favorite Irish/Celtic acts! (So amazing to be so close to performers who often play huge festival stages.) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this venue for any genre of music! The lights and sound only enhance the show quality!

Yelp
This was such a pleasant, intimate venue for a concert. It is located in REO Town neighborhood of Lansing. We found street parking and headed to the theater. When we arrived, instead of a physical or electronic ticket, there was simply a checklist of those that were attending. We were seeing a small group from the Lansing Symphony that consisted of harp, viola, flute and percussion. They played a variety of pieces which showcased their talent and instruments. I would highly recommend attending a performance here. Live music is such a treat.

Yelp
We actually went to the Robin Theater when we were on a tour of REO town, on Washington St., Lansing, Michigan. There is no food served here, however, there is food and drink nearby. So, Robin Theater is kind of unique, as you walk through the front door, you enter a small bookstore, that is cozy and has many titles to choose from. Step through the curtains into next room and you find yourself at the Robin Theater, a very nice room with a stage. Intimate seating for small gatherings.

Yelp
Great intimate venue for live shows. Good vibes. Clearly run by people who care about the community and the arts. You can grab a drink next door and bring it into the theatre, which is nice. And they have a cool selection of books for sale! 10/10 recommend

Yelp
The community theatre for Reo Town family gives a real connection to the people around town. This space provides a hearth of art for us to gather at and be lifted with by the bevy of talent and creative sparks Lansing offers outside of academia. Having seen The Robin Theatre develop I am amazed in incredulity at the joy found here. I wasn't expecting anything like this. As the entertained and entertainer I have felt at home each visit. There is no performance that has been excluded, there is no one genre or emotion you have. It is a home with many functions for its dwellers. The bathrooms are large and accessible to all. The quaint entrance is deceiving. The Robin Theatre offers high ceilings, open halls, clean walls that respect art, original hardwood floors, dramatic drapes, a cute office box, and lights made for drama. The esthetic is clean and classic theater with a moderate amount of drama. The sound system takes a 5 minute training session but the savvy can find their groove easily. Music and vocal performance are complimented by the walls. I've performed poetry, prose and stage play with and without mic with great ease. The sound quality makes it a great experience for all. Seating is arranged how the hosts like and offers a maximum of 100 but that could be adjusted standing. The house chairs are not for optimal comfort but are well suited for 2 hours of entertainment. Theater style seating isn't quite possible. A packed house with standing room is stuffy and can require the front door to be propped open. The ceiling fans are helpful but summer heat will require AC. When it comes to crowded music shows the space could stand some better ventilation. My one critique is the refreshments or lack there of. There's not space for a bar and it would distract from the performances, Im sure, but I would enjoy a glass of wine with any experience I have here. Maybe a vendor comes on special evenings, something other than a dry house. Gina and Dylan love the life The Robin Theatre gives to Reo Town and they are accommodating to all who enter the space.
