"This compact restaurant sits within a 19C store which once housed the coastguard’s horse-drawn rocket firing equipment. The blackboard lists small plates and whole fish dishes; most of the produce is supplied by the owner’s father who, as well as being the harbourmaster, owns a boat and runs a small farm." - Michelin Inspector

Lovely small restaurant serving high quality small plate style dishes. A good mix of seafood, meat and vegetarian options. Excellent wine to match the food. Service was great, staff very helpful and friendly. The comfortable outdoor seating area is also dog friendly. All in all a destination venue, it's not particularly cheap but you get what you pay for. Well worth the effort to visit.

Got recommended this place as a “MUST VISIT” by our Airbnb host and let me tell you, they were not wrong! Drove here from Bude after booking a table the day before which thank god we did because it was very busy. Had to wait 5 minutes for our table to be ready upon arrival where we were placed outside under heaters, given blankets and the menu was presented to us on a huge blackboard. Ordered a few lovely glasses of white and some cans of the local Cornish beer (name I has been forgotten…) The food came in tapas style and one dish by one we were absolutely delighted. Starting off with the oysters which were stunningly fresh, to die for scallops, monkfish sashimi (WOW I COULD DIE!), hake with seaweed aioli and halibut drowning in champagne velute with a couple sides. Yes it was a lot and was very greedy but worth every single penny and luckily I’m a man with an endless appetite on holiday so I was frequently caught licking the plates. Service from all the staff was amazing, very professional but chatty and friendly giving us recommendations for the next few days. If you’re a seafood lover like us you HAVE to visit here I beg!!!

Amazing meal, I loved sitting outside with a blanket under the heater, staff were really friendly and attentive, food was really high quality, my favourite was the mackerel, my partner almost ordered a second dessert!

Some of the best food I’ve had. Fresh produce done simply and incredibly well. Intimate setting, friendly staff and each dish is the highest quality. A tapas type menu is delivered To table as soon as it is ready - you really can’t go wrong. Fish straight from the harbour or local fishermen. Just fabulous

Devine seafood menu changes regularly. Small plates menu. The sardines and oysters were our highlight. The quality and execution is absolutely top notch and the service from the staff was excellent, friendly and professional. Really good small wine list too and plenty of craft beers.

An amazing find with an intimate atmosphere. Food is simple, but fresh and served to Michelin level. We’ll be back!

Really special place. You can taste the thought and care that has gone into every dish. Thai mackerel was divine, oysters were beautifully clean and sweet, the potatoes were probably the best I've ever had. Considering the quality and freshness of the food, the amazing service and lovely atmosphere/decor it's very good value to eat here. I came with my fiance and our baby (and pram) and despite the small space (and potential for baby related disturbances) we were made to feel relaxed and welcome. There are places serving the same reliable old restaurant/pub dishes nearby and charging around the same amount per person. If you want an exciting culinary experience for a fair price you won't be disappointed. Lastly the music was really cool too 👍

A Hidden Gem by the Harbour - The Rocket Store, Boscastle Paul and I had the most incredible lunch at The Rocket Store in Boscastle. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm, friendly service, and the food was simply outstanding. What made it even more special was the chance to chat directly with the talented brigade in the open kitchen – a rare and wonderful experience. We can’t recommend it highly enough. Once a humble building constructed in 1898 to house horse-drawn, rocket-firing equipment for the coastguard, The Rocket Store has been beautifully reimagined as a seafood and small plates haven. Perched on Boscastle’s inner harbour wall, the restaurant’s brick exterior stands in charming contrast to the village’s iconic whitewashed cottages. When the sun shines, the outdoor courtyard becomes a perfect spot for a leisurely meal, with the sea breeze adding to the magic. The menu is ever-changing – sometimes daily – driven by what’s fresh and available. The focus is firmly on locally sourced ingredients: seafood comes from the family’s own boat, while meat and vegetables are supplied by their nearby farm. The result is an inspired selection of small plates that celebrate the best of Cornwall’s larder. To complement the food, there’s a carefully curated list of classic and natural wines, alongside bespoke cocktails and organic beers. And for those with furry friends, you’ll be pleased to know that small, well-behaved dogs are welcome too. If you find yourself in Boscastle, do yourself a favour and seek out The Rocket Store. Whether you’re soaking up the sun in the garden or cosying up inside, it’s a dining experience that lingers long after the last bite. Thank you to you all for looking after us! Jules and Paul
