Absolutely incredible smash burgers! We are pretty picky when it comes to burgers and this place blew us away! My son ate the entire burger faster than I’ve ever seen him eat anything. He said it was the best burger he’s ever had! Staff was super friendly. They also honored our family since we are a military family with their very generous Veterans Day discount! Highly recommended! Can’t wait to come back!

My brother brought me here because it’s his current favorite burger place in SE Michigan. I’m living in LA now and “smash burgers” are all the rage so he was excited to take me to a place doing them in Michigan. I thought it was good! But the buns were a little too thick, a tiny bit dry, and the fries that came with lime were a tiny bit on the too spicy side. I’d return for sure though! For the price, atmosphere, location and the friendliness of the staff - this is a great burger place overall! It’s super casual. There’s good parking. And we loved the Coca Cola machine that so far I’d only seen at movie theaters. It was fun to choose unusual flavor combos with our burgers. Lastly, I liked the Detroit mural inside the restaurant and that they have a food truck still [which is how they started before getting this place].

Google
Very impressed. Driving by and stopped randomly, never heard of it. Burger was great the bun was very fresh. Got regular fries that were hot and crisp. Will get garlic next time. Loved this and came out about the same price as a McDonalds meal. We will be back for sure!

Google
Cheeseburger and Onion Rings were delicious. I like the setup. You can see the food being prepared. Good service and friendly. 👍😎

Google
This place is incredible. I got the Hamburgler with Cajun Fries and it was absolutely delicious. The Cajun is on point with the perfect amount of spice and the burger was delicious, juicy, and with a perfectly toasted bun. The staff is super friendly and the place is nice and clean with a dope vibe.

Google
I’ve lived in the area since they opened and drive by frequently. Best decision I made was to stop by. I ordered the smashed cheeseburger and added bacon. The BEST burger I’ve ever had! And the garlic fries were amazing. The staff were pleasant and the place was clean. They have a new customer. I definitely recommend! 20/10!!

With out checking the timings me and my wife went to this place just before closing. But they still let us in and they allowed us to dine in. After ordering as we realized about the closing we mentioned that we would have it as a to go, they said they are okay. They are so kind and friendly staff. The food was awesome and tasty. We ordered chicken strips and Cajun fries. The chicken strips are so tender and crispy, definitely my to go every time we go there. The Cajun fries are spicy, crispy and tasty 😋.

Very accommodating and kind!!! I’m vegetarian but was really wanting one of their delicious peanut butter burgers. I called to see if they’d be ok with me bringing in my own impossible patty, they were more than happy to work with me. Thank you!!!!

Robin W.

Yelp
Had a great burger and nicely seasoned fries. The staff was friendly and attentive, but not too. Would recommend anytime!! The eat in area was clean and airy. They also have one of those soda machines where can choose anything yourself. Great place.

Yelp
Here in Michigan for a family wedding. My wife was craving a hamburger, so I looked on Yelp for restaurants that were close that were decently rated. We pulled up to this place and we were greeted by very friendly staff. Huge chalkboard with the menu handwritten and lots of interesting choices. There is definitely a Detroit vibe going on with the decorations. As for the food, I had the "Hamburglar" and it lived up to its name. It tasted exactly like a McDonald's hamburger....with better ingredients. I believe my wife had the "Rodeo" burger and she loved it. The Cajun fries I ordered were spicy and delicious. My wife ordered the salt and pepper fries. This is also a military/veteran, friendly restaurant. I was wearing my Navy coat and the gentleman asked me if I served and promptly provided a discount. I didn't ask for it. I make it a point to recognize and support restaurants like this whenever I can. They don't have to do this, obviously and I appreciate that. If we lived here, this place would be a favorite and regular stop.

Yelp
I heard great things about Rolling Stoves, so the expectations were really high. The Peanut butter and bacon burger was a unique combo of flavors, similar to a burger I once had when visiting Minnesota. The caramelized onions were a nice touch and the burger patty had a nice crispy char. I'd love it if the meat patty were a little bigger and would probably pay the $2 to add a second patty next time. The onion rings were fire. I highly recommend them. They came with a creamy bbq sauce which was ok, but next time I would sub out that sauce for their normal ranch which is supposed to be made with Guernsey Farms Dairy buttermilk. Everything was well seasoned/salted. It was on the saltier side but tasted good. I'd compare the experience/quality as similar or slightly better than Five Guys. It wasn't expensive but it wasn't cheap, either. The interior of the resturant is small and has a casual vibe, great for a quick lunch. The person who took my order was polite and brought the order to my table when it was ready. Overall, Rolling Stoves is a solid choice when you are craving a smash burger.

Monica W.

Yelp
Service was super easy. I called in an order to go. He was friendly and took my order quickly. When I got there, pretty clean, empty, big mural on the wall. The food was tasty for sure. It comes in a paper box so a little soggy. I got the garlic fries and smashed cheeseburger. Can't go wrong. The fries were okay, garlic wasn't on everything though and some were soggy. I'd try it again.

Edmund M.

Yelp
Maybe it's me but the smash burgers my friend & I had was totally overdone with most of the meat overcooked, like eating charcoal briquettes.

Jake M.

Yelp
Fantastic cheeseburger. Place is clean, staff are friendly, and easily one of the best burger and fries that I've had this year. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area!

Shae N.

Yelp
I had the chance to try The Rolling Stoves food truck when they were parked at Cadillac Square in downtown Detroit, and I'm so glad I did! The lively atmosphere, with people enjoying their lunches and the sounds of the city in the background, made for a great setting. Fortunately, I didn't need to drive all the way to their Farmington location to enjoy their food. When I walked up to the truck, I initially thought there was a long line, but I decided to proceed anyway. It turned out that most people were waiting for their food around the truck, and only two people were ahead of me to place an order. The man taking orders was very polite and efficient, and my wait for the food was only about 5-10 minutes. The smash burger was delicious, with perfectly cooked crispy smash patty and fresh ingredients that really hit the spot. Paired with their garlic fries, which were nicely crispy and packed with garlicky flavor, it was the perfect lunch. Plus, a burger, fries, and a can of soda for just $15 is a great deal especially in the heart of Detroit. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for The Rolling Stoves food truck next time I'm in need of a tasty lunch. Whether you're closer to Farmington or in Detroit, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Yelp
This place is just one of our favorite spots all around. Not only is the food AMAZING, the people there are absolutely incredible. We don't get to eat out the way we used to, and because of the kindness of the owners, we're able to treat our family on busy Mondays with a delicious burger dinner treat thanks to their free kid's meal deal. The burgers are thin, so not too heavy of a meal when adding the essentials-the garlic fries. These fries are SO GOOD, but they are very potent with fresh garlic. They never skimp on the fries, either. The onion rings are also so tasty, and come with a delicious creamy bbq type sauce. The usual cheeseburger comes with a house sauce on it that puts it over the top for being not your usual burger. I try every time we go to get pictures, and honestly I never manage to do it because it's about halfway gone by the time I even consider taking them

Mark W.

Yelp
I trusted my fellow Yelpers and boy I was not disappointed! I walked in and despite everyone being busy I was greeted promptly. Once someone was available I asked for his recommendation. He suggested the PBB as its unique and I'm glad I tried this awesome burger. I also added garlic fries which were great. I highly recommend The Rolling Stoves. I can't wait until my next visit to the area so I can come back!

Bob L.

Yelp
The burgers are really good. My favorite are the Pb&b never thought peanut butter would be good on a burger, and the all American smash cheese burger is tasty. Try the garlic fries they are fantastic

Joe B.

Yelp
Always great service, always great food and always a clean store. Amazing fries and onion rings, and fantastic sliders.

Tanya T.

Yelp
Great little local spot for burgers! We really enjoyed our visit in for an early dinner. The burgers were great and we enjoyed trying different seasoned fries. I loved the Detroit theme decor and the staff was also friendly and attentive.

Chris K.

Yelp
While other places have the rep, this is probably my favorite go to Burger place. Seasoning on their burgers is absolute perfection and the sear on the meat is always just right. Great onion rings, but I can't not get the salt and pepper fries. Their truck used to come to my workplace and it consistently drew the largest crowds. I was excited that they opened this permanent location and it's a bonus whenever I go to that side of town

Flea L.

Yelp
I write this fat full of the burger of the month... I love this place and would marry it if I could. This is premium burgers here in an unassuming place.. everything is thought of from the like with my Cajun fries to the cup of pop that is sized in a way you think of eating first... I could go on but you should be on your way.. priced awesome no empty wallets in here.. love it live it. Rolling Stoves

Yelp
The Rolling Stoves Mae's a delicious burger, yummy fries, they have a cool ambiance, the pop machine can make nearly anything and the service is even better. We were there at a busy lunch hour on a Saturday and the gentleman taking orders misheard the order. When they brought it to the table, I mentioned it to him and he took it back, made a fresh order and didn't even have that look of "oh brother" or "what a waste" on his face. He was polite and courteous instead. Speaks volumes of their training and values! Way to go, managers and way to go, team!

Tyler B.

Yelp
Food and customer service are great. Prices are expensive for a burger and fries, but I pay it to support a local business. We've been gone here a bunch since they opened and unfortunately the past few times we've gone the food quality has seemed to have dipped, especially with their fries. Not sure if it's just them rushing everything since they can get super busy, but it's definitely not the same.

Jody K.

Yelp
The Rolling Stoves is what I guess they call a "fast casual" restaurant. You order at the counter, but they make everything fresh. They have some cool decor, like records that are cut out in the names of various groups, a rustic menu board, and the classic Detroit "D" on the wall. There is a counter that goes around the perimeter of the restaurant, and a few tables in the middle. As a short person, the tall counter & bar stools are a problem. I managed to get onto one in the corner, but as soon as a table opened up, I grabbed it. I ordered a rodeo burger "salad" which is really just a burger and its fixings put on shredded lettuce, garlic fries and a drink. I don't often order soft drinks, so I had a bit of fun trying to find some iced tea in the machine that has lots of offerings. The tea was good, and there were several iterations. My burger salad was pretty good. There was a LOT of broken up bacon on it. I didn't really like the barbecue sauce with it, though. I really wanted to like the fries, but they were WAY too garlicky for me, and I love garlic. Since I didn't finish the bacon bits or the fries, I mixed them together and I will mix them with additional fries to tone it down. I really appreciated that this is a family owned business. I believe one of the owners and their children were sitting at one of the other tables, and they were just laid back and friendly. I think if I go back, I will get something more traditional, but, in any case, I'm glad I visited.

Michelle P.

Yelp
We make it a point every time we come to Livonia to stop by and have lunch here. The food is great! Best smash burger I've ever tasted. Staff is always friendly and the garlic fries are amazing dipped in their ranch sauce.

Lynette R.

Yelp
Oh yummm!!! I was hoping for a chicken breast sandwich when I walked in but settled on the Chipotle Blackbean Burger. It was delicious!! Of course had to try their Garlic Fries too which was a perfect complement to the Blackbean burger. The food came out fast and the service was friendly. Nice open space with plenty of seating. If you're alone and want to gaze out the window, window seating is available for you too!

Carey M.

Yelp
The burgers are good, no complaints, but also not my "gotta have". The truck always came by my work and that was my eat out day. I loved the fries, perfectly browned and not too thick. Staff were always very polite.

Steve D.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant basically serving hamburgers and fries. Owner also have a food truck business. The smash burger are very good and the onion rings are great

Marcus B.

Yelp
I been struggling to find a smash burger that actually smashed. This hit the spot. Patties nice and crisp, and garlic fries were pleasantly garlicky but not overbearing. To top it all off prices are extremely reasonable and they brought to food to my table instead of just calling my name. Definitely will be back next time I'm in the mood for a smashed burger.

Liz P.

Yelp
We ordered Doordash from here today - I want to say it used to only be a food truck? Its garlic fries swayed me into ordering. We ordered two PB&B (peanut butter and bacon) burgers, mine without cheese. The bacon bits made the burger kind of crunchy, which was interesting, although it felt like it was lacking something ... Perhaps the cheese would have pulled it together. The garlic fries were good but a bit too salty for me - my fave garlic fries are at Frita Batidos in Ann Arbor/Detroit and these were not as good. My favorite part of the meal was actually the onion rings we ordered - they were beer-battered and perfectly crunchy. I'd order from here again but would probably order just a regular burger, they had a cheeseburger and another that looked good.

Ketan S.

Yelp
Quick weekday lunch with an old work buddy. We found this place was hot and new in Farmington. Burgers and Shakes! We both had the Chipotle Black bean Veggie Burger. I had it with Garlic Fries and my friend had Cajun fries. The place looks pretty cool from the inside with; very modern. Their menu is on the wall done with chalkboard paint. Service was good and their team was very professional. Prices are quite similar to a 5 guys but the variety and choices was quite wide. I would definitely recommend for a quick bite to anyone that wants to get burger and fries !

Cory C.

Yelp
I came here with a friend during a weekend and ate in the restaurant. This was during the summer when it was very hot and humid outside, so it felt great to be in here where it was generously air conditioned! My rodeo burger tasted really good. They basted the burger with butter, which makes a big difference with the taste. I loved the crispy, fresh bacon bits with the bbq sauce. The onion ring was a nice touch, too. My friend wasn't a huge fan that they used American cheese (a cheap cheese) on the burger as opposed to something like cheddar. I've always liked the taste of American cheese on burgers, so no complaints from me there. At $11.00 for a burger and side, though, it was a bit overpriced - it should be closer to $9.00 for the amount of food we got. I should note that this was before the price of beef really shot up from the relatively recent inflation/supply chain issues. I wish we could customize the cook on it too (I like eating burgers medium rare). The garlic fries I ordered on the side were delicious - not excessively garlicky, and the right amount of crisp. My friend ordered the fried pickles, which came with delicious homemade ranch dressing and was also another solid dish. The batter wasn't too thick or greasy. However, $4 for 4 pieces is not worth it. All in all, we had great food here, but it was on the pricier side. For me, it's a great place to eat at once in a while.

Adam L.

Yelp
This place is definitely a contender for best burger in Michigan. Perfect smashburger, awesome bun, excellent cheese. I grew up eating at Millers and this place is right there with them. Get in here asap. I'll be back.

Nancy A.

Yelp
Stopped by here last week. Really wanted to love this place, as the employees were very nice and the place was clean, but the burgers were very underwhelming. We tried the sampler, and two out of 3 had so much going on with them, that you couldn't even really appreciate the actual burger. The classic burger was just okay. My husband commented that we would have been better off at Burger King.

gloria n.

Yelp
The burger was paper thin. You're basically eating just bun The bacon was bacon bits. Fries were very good though. Won't be returning!!!

Daniel D.

Yelp
Had the black bean burger and Cajun fries. Service was quick and friendly. Dining area was rather a blank canvas.

Rachel D.

Yelp
Hubby was craving a good burger so I got on Yelp to search out places near Farmington - we were at the Farmington Founders Festival. It happened to be that we were minutes from here. It was a beautiful day so we were excited when we pulled up and saw outdoor seating. Although it's along the main busy road, it was still nice to be outside after all the rain we'd been having. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but the ordering is done at the counter. You order, pay, and wait for your food. Since we sat outside, one of the employees brought our food out to us. I'm not sure what the normal procedure is for indoor dining. They may bring it to you or call your name or number. I ordered the Jerk burger which was a special that day and I loved every bite of the unique flavors. It had homemade Jamaican Jerk sauce, cilantro lime coleslaw, cheese and grilled onions. Just an amazing combination of flavors. The burger was also good. Hubby had the Rodeo Burger and he wasn't nearly as excited. He tried mine and agreed it was much better. We also shared salt and pepper fries and they were good - nothing special and a little salty. I understand the place got its name because they have a food truck. A friend said she called about it and they have a minimum that must be spent to have the truck come to a neighborhood, party or festival. You can see the prices on the menu below. They are a little high for a fast food type place. Since we don't live too close to this location, we probably won't be back. But it's worth a try!

Chris

Yelp
Excellent burgers and very friendly people. Never had a bad experience here. The food is always great.

Ann D.

Yelp
Order was ready for pickup on time. Food very good. Professional staff. I will definitely return.

Kelly M.

Yelp
We recently booked their food truck for a grad party and it was amazing!! Guests could not stop raving about how delicious everything was! Would 100% recommend for anyone who wants yummy food for their next event!

Kath D.

Yelp
Love this place!! Gluten free bun is one of the better ones I've had. The PB+B burger is so good.

Corina M.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with this place! Their burgers are delicious and consistent every time you come! You don't feel weighed down and disgusting after eating one of these like most burgers! If you haven't tried it yet you must try the rodeo burger! The fries...where do I begin? We ordered garlic fries and boy oh boy I think these were sent down from heaven. They use real garlic on them, and I'm a garlic lover so these blew my mind! These are the best fries I've ever had! They also started to sell shakes! I got a strawberry shake and it brought my right back to childhood. So yummy. The staff is amazing, friendly and super helpful! The atmosphere is amazing, fresh clean a modern! 10 out of 10 you must try it! -a.bold.dish

Maya C.

Yelp
Just a quickie! Trying to support local and I think this place has tons of potential to stay on my list of go-to's! The smashed burgers were super tasty and still moist, even with delivery. The order was correct and the prices are quite reasonable. Highlights: the onion rings!! Will have to get more and soon! Also, the rodeo burger is a must! Onion rings, bacon, cheese and BBQ if you choose. Cannot leave out the chicken strips, I think house-made, which I like and it's worth the effort. I give it a 4-star now just because it was delivery and the true excellence of delivery food is a little lost in translation, sadly. Hope I get to eat-in soon!

Daniel N.

Yelp
I loved this place!! We got the flight of burgers with Cajun fries and Garlic fries. The peanut butter burger was delicious and we loved the Cajun fries too. My GF really enjoyed the Rodeo burger too. The service was sooooooo fast and the staff was extremely nice. They knew the names of so many customers it was crazy. They called several people by name when they left and wished them a good day. I would highly recommend this place for a great smash burger.

Samantha W.

Yelp
Really like their salads. We had the BBQ salad this last visit - so good! The team seems friendly and offered suggestions. Family owned - we love this! The dining area is a bit of an echo chamber so we don't stay. Their fries are outstanding! It's mostly a burgers and fries place but we'll be back!

Blair M.

Yelp
Recently tried their specialty Santa sleight slider donut burger. Of course with garlic fries. Did not disappoint and was very good! Right amount of meat and donut.

Gary B.

Yelp
Splits a new building with a Burger King just north of the busy 8Mile/Farmington Road intersection, with a small private lot. Inside is a large open room with a mix of high and low tables and a fancy custom sodapop machine. You order burgers and sides at a counter with a grill area behind, they prepare it and call your name to get the food. A mix of normal and odd burgers on the menu, I had the peanut butter burger and it was okay (not the peanut butter part, that was as expected and I liked the combo, the meat was thin and not all that tasty). At their recommendation I had the garlic fries, they tasted strongly of garlic and nothing else. The prices are also a little high, even for the trendy segment of the burger spectrum. Because of the design of the room it is loud, when I was there several families had young children running and yelling, which made it worse.

Ashley A.

Yelp
I only ordered fries to go, but they were delicious and fresh! The dining room was clean and bright and the staff super friendly. I will be back for more!

Izzy R.

Yelp
Was looking for a new burger place and found Rolling Stoves had a restaurant. Was hopeful about it; however, was just ok. The Rodeo burger was so-so, which included BBQ sauce and an onion ring, which looked/tasted burnt. Had the garlic fries that tasted kind of odd. The staff was friendly though.

Yelp
So excited to finally try this place. Home of Michigan's very best Smash Burger. Say what the hell is a Smash Burger this place has perfected. Home of the Smashburger" restaurants invented in Kentucky 60 years ago. PIKEVILLE, Ky. Yes my mom hometown so it's a Hillbilly thang. So the story goes created the "smashburger" created when a worker discovered that smashing the meat with a No. 10 bean can while grilling was a great way to get the best flavor into a burger. This be Why you need a real Smash Burger The Maillard reaction is behind it all, as it is behind most yummy things. When your beef patty meets some heat, the amino acids and sugars within it begin reacting, which results in changes of flavor and color. So when you "smash" your burger patty down, you're creating more surface area for the Maillard reaction to take place. A great first experience the brother of the owner what a outgoing friendly person, he's in charge of testing new Smash Burgers his brother invents. Place so clean with Stainless Steel counters reminds me of a hospital operating room. Here's our fun filled order we dined inside. Garlic Fries off the damn charts you must share a order. Onion Rings Wonderful with a super special sauce. She had a marvelous Chicken topped Salad with a order of Chicken Tenders Delightful Delicious. Now the superstar of the visit. PB&B Butter-seared beef, melted American cheese, creamy peanut butter, honey, crispy bacon, tomato, caramelized onions, pickles, on toasted buns. Only a couple bucks more for another Patty. A true addiction in the very first bite, Juices flowing down my chin WOWED be back many times just for this on the menu daily. The Smash Burger of the month another winner yes added another Patty. Smashed Reuben MARCH BURGER OF THE MONTH- melted American-swiss, beef, sauerkraut, griddled corned beef, house-made horseradish thousand island. Another creative OMG Burger like no other around town. We drove 25 minutes, gonna hit once per month. Just a single location and a Food Truck you truly need to visit and Support this Ma n Pa operation. #therollingstoves @rollingstoves #smashburger #garlicfries #burgers #chickentenders #familyrestaurant

Yelp
Good burgers, and garlic fries are on point. Is a little pricy for what you get but they use quality ingredients.

Victoria W.

Yelp
This food was fresh and hot. The team was very pleasant and helpful in me navigating the menu since it was my first visit. The menu was kid friendly as well. The space was clean.

Jordan D.

Yelp
I found this business by searching Yelp with "hamburger", and I am so glad I did! I left home (California) 2 weeks ago, driving to Michigan, we had a few burgers along the way, NONE as good as The Rolling Stoves. Greeted with a warm & friendly smile, they knew I had no idea what to order. They offered my son help, suggested the Thai (this is a sandwich on a hamburger bun. 2 nicely breaded pieces of chicken breast, jalapeño slices, perfectly not burning hot, pickles, but not too many and it seemed like a coleslaw?? Please don't hold me to that lol). We also ordered Rodeo Burger, OMG, YUM!!! $7 for a burger is a great price for quality burger with friendly service Their regular fries were so good!! I felt I may have been given too large of serving lol. I wasn't able to get any photos!! Uh, we just ate it. We actually cut them in half and got to try both!! I am super glad I drove the 10 mile round trip try this small business! I think I'll go back today, a 30 mile trip

Bruce S.

Yelp
This place is great. Clean, great layout, friendly, amazing food. I am normally not in this area but happened to be and checked it out. So glad I did because it was great. This place deserves your business and your taste buds will thank you.

Philip G.

Yelp
Excellent burger at a very reasonable price. Order of fries can be shared for sure. Fun environment too. Highly recommended for a quick and rewarding lunch

Ian Z.

Yelp
If you want a really good burger, go here. The people are super nice and have never messed up our order. They also have very good fries and milkshakes
